CAUTION! The following images may make you dreamy! The original lo rise brief by GO SOFTWEAR! Enjoy
Last week we brought you the new Silq Mesh collection. This week 2(X)ist released the new Chevron Collection. Tis the season for new undies, and we’re glad to see some really great ones from 2(X)ist. 2(X)ist has made some underwear that we here at UNB can’t wait to get our hands on. A few guys have already ordered the Sliq and I’m sure these will be next!
The Chevron collection is is available in a No Show Brief, Trunk and a jock. The brief and Trunk have the chevron design on the hip. Where as the jock has the design on the pouch, making accent what you have. Made out of Soft-Fle(X) Cotton: 2(X)IST’s soft stretch Cotton blend (90% Cotton / 10% Spandex)
The colors are really fun in this new collection. The colors are: Black, White, Acai Purple, Turquoise, Fiery Red and Fluorescent. Each color combination is bright with matching accent colors. The waistband ties into the over all cover theme with a banded 2(X)ist logo on the front.
These were just released and are at the 2(X)ist site and some of your favorite retailers.
Today’s Brief Distraction is from Addicted. This is part of their new swimwear shoot! Find Addicted at the ES Collection website and select retailers.
As tennis fever strikes in time for the US Open, Irvine, CA-based Croota Underwear (www.croota.com) is getting the American male ready on National Underwear Day for one of the highly anticipated sporting tournaments of the year by highlighting one of its newest ranges, “Tennis Fever.”
Inspired by the Croota in-house design team’s love for tennis, the lo-rise hipster trunk comes in two versatile color variations, Sky Blue and Blue Indigo, and also features three different embroidery colors on the lower back. The numbers “00” are in a bold-faced white font on the top right of the rear to symbolize the starting score of a tennis match. It’s the perfect brief for guys on or off the court.
“Tennis Fever” is made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex, and retails for $18.90 USD.

Happy National Underwear Day! Every year FreshPair.com brings us this yearly celebration of all things underwear. Founded on August 5th, 2003 each year they do events to raise awareness of underwear. We fully support this day and hope you will celebrate with us!
This past year FreshPair.com has been focusing on confidence. They launched the Confidence Project, where men and women tell their stories of underwear and confidence. They range from cancer survivors to regular people. It’s great to see this in the underwear arena. This is what we want to focus on today!
Has anyone ever said to you, “Oh you don’t need to wear that?” “Oh that is so out of style” “only (insert gay slut) wear that type of underwear?” “Those just look stupid” Have these things then affected your underwear purchasing or daily wear?
Having run this blog for almost 5 years I have heard every underwear choice a there is. They include thongs, men’s lace, bikinis, boxers and everything in between. Many guys who read this blog are in the closet with their love of underwear. When I am out at a party and guys find out that I write an underwear blog many will feel safe to confess their love of underwear. You can see their eyes light up and talk about underwear. It’s like they are confessing a big dark secret for the first time.
We have created UNB as a safe place for guys, both straight and gay, to come together and talk about underwear. Because ALL guys need great underwear. It has been a long-standing mantra here at UNB that underwear should be fun and make you feel great.
You should wear whatever underwear you feel best in and to hell with what anyone else thinks. How do we go about this? First, we need to not listen to society saying what makes a guy sexy. Underwear is a personal statement about who we are and what we like. Its up to us to feel sexy and explore that part of ourselves. So don’t wear underwear that the “general public” thinks you should wear.
Second, we shouldn’t judge anyone else underwear preference. I know many of you out there don’t understand men’s lace underwear. But there are a big group of guys who love this area of underwear. I will admit I have tried lace briefs from MalePower and they fit amazing. Who knew I would like lace? Let’s be open and supportive to every underwear lover. Just because you show support doesn’t mean you have to wear that style.
Third, Don’t let friends/family shame you into wearing something else. My personal favorite is bikinis. I have had friends who find out I wear them go “aren’t they uncomfortable?” “those don’t look good on a guy” and the list goes on. We need to ignore them because they aren’t wearing the underwear we are! Over the years I have had family members make fun of me and question my underwear love. I felt great in them and ignored their comments. Why wear something we are going to hate to conform to others and when you think about it, are they really going to know what underwear you are wearing?
Fourth, if you feel sexy in it don’t let body issues get in the way. This one I have heard so many times on the blog. I’m too fat/thin, not endowed, my butt is too big/small and the list goes on to wear (insert style). How many of us are actually underwear models? I bet more then 85% of people who read this blog couldn’t get a job as an underwear model. Remember the models are part of the marketing, all of us aspire to look like the model in our underwear but very few of us actually do. I used to weight 300 pounds, at 6’4” I was big but not huge. Today I’m down 75 pounds and want to go down 25 more pounds. Even at that size I still wore my bikinis. It made me still feel sexy to wear my beloved bikinis. Guys on each size of too big or too thin have this issue. My advice is to wear what you love and own it no matter what you think your issue is!
Lastly, lets all not be so shy about sharing your underwear love. Over the last five years more and more guys say they love great underwear. It’s not something taboo being relegated to the back pages of magazines any more. Let’s be confident about our underwear choices and be shamed when others find out about that love. So when a friend comes over and see’s your laundry and says something negative about your undies say “have you ever tried them?” and start a conversation. I have found the more guys that actually try great underwear will keep buying them and change their preferences and underwear drawer. To do this comment on this and other underwear blogs, participate in our social media, email us, and talk to us! We love talking underwear and all you have to do is reach out and we will answer back!
I will get off my soap box now and hope you guys will go out and wear what you want. Don’t let anyone sway your opinion or make you wear something you don’t like. The stigma around men’s underwear is changing and with National Underwear Day we will keep bringing attention to men’s underwear! So go out now and enjoy National Underwear Day and wear something great!
Happy National Underwear Day! Today is the one day we get to celebrate all things underwear. We want to know how you plan on celebrating this day!
If you are in New York City go wear your underwear to the World’s Largest Gathering of People in Underwear.
- August 5th, 2013 5:00pm–7:30pm EST.
- Times Square at Broadway between 46th and 47th St.
There are some rules from FreshPair.com:
We encourage you to show your individuality and confidence by wearing your favorite undies, but in order to break the Guinness World Record we all must adhere to the following guidelines.
- Men must be wearing underpants, boxers, boxer briefs or briefs. They cannot be wearing shirts, undershirts, or jock straps.
- Women must wear underpants, thongs (not too revealing; allowed on a case-by-case basis), shapewear or boyshorts (that are clearly underwear). Shirts or full coverage bras are also permitted.
- All participants can wear socks and shoes.
- If it rains, ponchos are not permitted but umbrellas are.
Event Etiquette
- Remember that, although the National Underwear Day event is 18+ years of age, Times Square is a family-friendly location. Be courteous, but have fun. Wear fun undies, but keep in mind revealing items may be offensive to some.
- Nudity is strictly prohibited. Although it’s not illegal to go topless in NYC, Times Square is a family-friendly location so we should all be considerate of non-NUD participants, passers-by, and tourists.
- National Underwear Day is all about public displays of confidence (#PDC) but public displays of affection, towards any participants, are discouraged.
If you’re like me and can’t go, enjoy some great underwear on the day. Have a great National Underwear Day!

Underwear Nation is getting bigger, better, and sexier! The men’s online underwear retail site is scheduled to launch a new and improved website and shopping experience at the beginning of August. While the site will still maintain the “underwear of the month” subscription service as the main focus, the underwear shop will no longer be limited to three new pairs of underwear every month.
Underwear Nation’s new website will feature a monthly ISSUE featuring the same original photography fans have come to know and love, but focused on more products. Visitors will be able to shop the issue and buy any product seen in the monthly photo release. With this, Underwear Nation will begin expanding their product offering to include more cuts of underwear, t-shirts, socks, accessories and more.
“We cannot wait to offer more product to our Citizens,” says co-owner Jerrad Matthew. “Our fans and members have come to trust our expertise in choosing products to feature, and we plan to continue to be as picky as ever. Each product will still be tested for design, quality and fit and will be Underwear Nation approved. We’re just curating a bigger collection now.”
The new website will be spectacularly designed with amazing photography, simple navigation and a clean and more expansive shopping area. Other new features on the site will include the Embassy community and social page, an ambassador sales program, special members only offers, an improved mobile shopping experience and more.
The new site is scheduled to launch in the first week of August.
National Underwear Day wants you to vote for the most creative display of underwear confidence. They ran a contest and people submitted their photo. If you go vote for your favorite you can win something as well! We love what they are doing and all of you should go vote. I posted my favorite one today but go vote for anyone you feel is the best one!
Enjoy some color with new underwear from Go Softwear. This is the POP Midnight boy brief in black/Fuchsia. Enjoy, we hope to have more from them soon!
The Underwear of the week this week is the C-IN2 Dip Dye Jockstrap. There is something about this line that is fun. It was just released yesterday and you will be able to find it at some of your favorite retailers. One of my favorite things about this are the Waistbands. They are made to match the colors in the underwear. Note the Green and white, very cool to see a company pay this much attention. C-IN2 refreshes this line seasonally. So these won’t be around long.
Other reasons why this is our underwear of the week
- Available in Techno Purple, Raging Teal, Blaze Red and Lazurite Blue
- There’s truly a limited supply.
- Always on trend, a secret splash of color that you choose to show
- 100% Cotton
- Available from the C-IN2 website for $17.00
Find the Dip Dye Street jock and other items in the Dip Dye line at the C-IN2 site
Curbwear has released a new range called Identify. It’s one that allows you to identify your…well position. It’s fun but not crazy over the top. If you have friends see it they may not get it at first. The line is a very nice styled and the position is made into the waistband.
The styles that they have are a brief and a jock. The Active (blue), Bottom (red) and Versatile (green). Each one is a different color to tell them apart. The jock is just made in, the appropriate “bottom” label. Made out of % Cotton and 10% Elastane blend in Europe. The Jocks retails for £17 and the briefs are £19
I got ta chance to see this video two weeks ago. It was shot on the Tube in London. I asked how did they do it and their response was “people got an eyefull” on their commute! I say watch the video. So watch the video!

Enjoy this Brief Distraction from Boiskin Bodywear! They are about to release their new underwear collection. I have talked to them and they are telling me great things but haven’t seen it!
2(X)ist has released a collection that has taken UNB by storm, that collection is the Sliq Mesh Collection. I got to see this at Magic in February and knew it would be a hit, but I didn’t remember how great this line looks. 2(X)ist has really outdone themselves on the Sliq Mesh line. When I go to Magic there is a chance things will change from the samples to the public release. These to me didn’t POP in person like they do in the pics or at least I don’t remember them being this BRIGHT. These look AMAZING. Everyone here is clamoring to get a pair of these to review. Which I hope we will have very soon!
The new Sliq Mesh comes in a Brief, Trunk, Jock and Tank. All but the Tank come in Black, White, Purple, Fiery Red and Orangeade. Where as the tank is just black and white. Made out of (X)-Pel Wicking Mesh: 2(X)IST’s performance-enhanced stretch blend (91% Nylon / 9% Spandex).
Sliq Brief – “Our most streamlined Brief receives an update in perforated, wicking mesh while maintaining an ultra-low rise on the hips, high leg openings, and an (X)-treme Contoured Pouch for maximum support, fit, and comfort” – $24.00
Sliq Trunk – “A wicking mesh Trunk with square-cut legs and an ultra-low rise to create a proportionate shape, plus an (X)-treme Contoured Pouch for maximum support, fit, and comfort” – $28.00
Sliq Jock – “An ultra low-rising Jock Strap—engineered in perforated, wicking mesh—with a unique Y-shaped strap base that extends around the backside for ultimate support” – $24.00
Sliq Racerback Tank – “A trim, streamlined Tank featuring a racer-style back and a perforated wicking mesh construction for comfort and optimal movement” – $30.00

I get the chance to review another Unico Boxer! It may sound like it’s not the typical for me but Unico makes one of the few boxers I liked. The previous ones were great, so this one I had high hopes as well. This one unlike the rest is made out of a 93% Cotton, 7% Spandex blend. I loved the design of these too, colorful and fun. Unico is not one company afraid to use colors or patterns. So I put I through it’s paces.
I wore this pair to work on an average day. The day wasn’t too active. It was mainly office work and hanging out with friends after. Being a day that wasn’t too active I didn’t think it would be much of a challenge for the pair. The one thing that I noticed was the legs opening stretched out a bit. For Unico that was strange, granted it wasn’t very bad but still annoyed me it happened. All the other pairs I have reviewed have really held up great. So for this one to have a few issues was odd to me. It wasn’t bad but it was just noticeable to be annoying. The materials seemed to be the same as previous pairs, so I’m not sure why this pair did this didn’t hold up.
The sizing for Unico is based on Colombian sizing. Meaning it definitely runs small. I would suggest that you get a size up in whatever size you get. For example if you’re a medium I would suggest getting a Large. The pair I reviewed was an XL, which did fit my 36 waist very well. If you get much larger you may have issues. However, when I was a 40 waist I could still wear my XL. Not sure if that was I loved them so much or if they fit!
As I said I really liked the pattern. They are known for their amazing prints and patterns. Unico really isn’t afraid to step outside the box and use prints you don’t normally see in men’s underwear. The pouch is the second thing I love. Unico makes some of the best pouch underwear on the market. It’s one of the things they are known for, and if you look back on the blog then you will see we have consistently named it as one of the best for pouch design. As for what I didn’t like was the fabric. It lost its shape and made the legs looses their shape. This is the first time I have ever had a pair of Unico do this, so not sure if its just the pair or in general for the cotton/spandex blend.
Pros:
- Great fun pattern
- Amazing Unico pouch
- Matching waistband
Cons:
- Fabric didn’t fit well
- Lost shape around lets
Ratings:
- Daily Fit – 6
- Sizing – 7
- Construction/Materials – 5
- Styling – 8
- Daily Performance – 6
- Overall: 6.2
Mundo Unico Store furnished this pair for review.
