Review – Gregg Homme Perfekbum

Gregg Homme provided us at Underwear News Briefs with several fantastic pairs of underwear and I was lucky enough to get the red PERFEKBUM pair in the square cut brief. This pair was quite exciting to try as I enjoy trying undies, especially those that are new and have some sort of interesting bit of a new concept to them.

The Hyperstretch microfiber fabric is designed to cling to the curvature of the body and it did its job well. The fabric was soft and ultimately felt like a second skin against my body. The square cut brief in size large was a great fit and true to sizing.

After opening the package and trying on the brief, I found the quality to be excellent, the look was overwhelmingly sexy, the fabric soft and supple, and the rear were magnificent. The pouch was conforming, comfortable, and lifting while the one inch waistband with the Gregg Homme logo patch placed on the center front. The new and exciting bit about this pair of briefs was the elastic cord that runs from the base of the pouch between the buttocks and connects to the center of the back of the waistband. This was the perfect addition to this brief to outline the buttocks and provide greater definition and curvature to the rear. In addition to the elastic enhancing cord, there is a lip opening below the waistband in the rear where the cord connects to prevent unwanted stretching and bunching of the fabric. I thoroughly enjoyed the overall look of the brief with the way it was cut, was taut against the body, the rich coloring of the red, and the feel of the fabric.

I wore this Gregg Homme square cut brief from beginning of the day until the very end of the evening. I began the day with working from home on class related grading. I shopped for groceries later in the afternoon. After resting for a bit, I headed out to a new club I am beginning to call my second home. After sitting, chatting, dancing, and some showing of my undies to my friends for thoughts on the pair, I can say that these briefs held up the entire day and felt great the entire time I had them on. The elastic cord that provided a nice separation of the buttocks never was uncomfortable or had to be adjusted during the day for being irritating or out of place.

Overall, I majorly enjoyed this pair of underwear. I liked the tightness of the rear, the feel of the fabric, the look of the brief, the stretchy pouch, and the elastic cord that helped define my rear. I found this pair to make me feel sexy, be rather erotic, and was comfortable all day while going about my activities. This would be a perfect pair of underwear for any guy wanting to show off his rear a bit or add some definition. In general, I have no complaints about this brief other than I suggest washing it by hand due to the fabric composition and cord just in case the cord catches on some other articles of clothing and causes a natural disaster in your washer. Now, the price may cause some guys to shy away from this particular pair of underwear, but it is a specialty pair of underwear that has some great features that will only create a wonderful look for the wearer and provide some added confidence.

Gregg Homme 2012 Collection – Notes from Curve

This year at Curve, I got a chance to sit down with Gregg Homme and see the new line. I will admit this is one of the best things about the blog, seeing undies months before the general public. Gregg Homme always swears me to secrecy until the line comes out. So, if you ask me, I will deny everything!

The new line really impressed me. It’s a very cohesive underwear collection. Everything to me flows together. There are many times I go and see collections and they are not designed to work together. To borrow something from Project Runway, I could see one guy owning every piece of this collection.

Gregg Homme really excels at fabric selection. I got to try the Voyeur brief and it felt amazing to me. It was super stretchy and conformed to my body. Other pairs in the collection share this care for fabric selection.

I have said this many times and will continue to say, “Gregg Homme does sexy, and does sexy well.” All too often you buy a super sexy pair of underwear and get through the day and it just fails. I doubt you will have this from Gregg Homme. Well, you could wear the Master to work; wearing armbands attached to your underwear could be a bit much. However the arm cuffs do detach!

This week each day we have more and more about the collection. Here today I thought I would do something different and you see the notes I wrote up while at Curve. Here are my reactions to the line as it was shown to me!

Voyeur – SUPER soft and there are a lot of colors in the collection! Made with 24% spandex because they listened to customers wanted. Two thongs in this collection for dressing up or down. Small elastic waistband and a big demand for delicate men’s underwear. Available in black white, sky purple and red in 4 styles 2 thongs, briefs and trunk
Perfekbum – Outside string that goes up the seat that defines your butt. I haven’t seen it done before in mens’ underwear that I can recall. Brief and trunk/boy short have a logo waistband. Colors available in black, white, sky, purple and red.
Hotshot – crisscross elastic with metal rings and back is super hot, sort of a basket weave. It’s definitely a sexy but different style, this is one you have to see to with your own eyes. Available in four colors purple, black, white and fireman red.
Kenya – Zebra print – made out with see through pouch with an enhancer that shows off what the wearer wants to show off! Accents are made with rubber like fabric. This gives it a sexier look. Styles are string, thong, brief and trunk/boxer brief and muscle shirt.
Booster – Enhancer pouch and super thin and feels great. Again they know how to pick amazing fabrics. This is one of the thinnest, stretchy, best feeling fabric I have seen in men’s Underwear. Colors are White, black, peter and royal blue. Enhancer is made out of the same material as Voyeur with 24% spandex, Available in a Thong, brief and trunk/boxer brief
Glory – One style group, it is a thong with metal eyelets surrounded by leather look straps. The thong is super sexy and bordering on fetish wear. It’s definitely now for the shy.
Master – Brief with armbands attached to the back with a ring and clip. The bands go around biceps. Leather/rubber look fabric with detachable arm bands so you can wear it as a brief
Heaven – Soft side being brought, with a more of a 9-5-comfort style. This is a “basic collection’ done by Gregg Homme. Cotton/lycra with logo waistband. Made for comfort. Brief, boxer brief, tank and V-neck t-shirt. Available in white and black
Mood – Same as Heaven but in Microfibre group. So a basic with a sexier fabric. It’s classic and sexy at the same time! Available in a brief, boxer brief, tank and t-shirt.
Tropics Swimwear – Bold tropic print, Sunny print, and metal signature on side of waistband. 2 types of briefs, one with front seam and other with no seam. This is great for the guy who doesn’t like seams. Not often you see this done today.
Ocean Swimwear – Basic with a capital B – Solid colors. Super soft martial Front logo will be silver metallic. Basic is not bad, at times you definitely need some classic looks. Available in Black, red, royal and red.
Retro – swimwear with double waistband win fun colors. Pewter, royal, aqua, magenta, white and purple. These line very much reminds me of a retro almost 70’s feel. Available in six colors and as a square cut and a brief. So it maybe basic but not plain!

Review – Gregg Homme – Hot Shot Booty Shorts

Gregg Homme’s own website stated it best. This piece is “blisteringly sexy”. The Gregg Homme Hot Shot Booty Shorts are a statement beyond any other this reviewer has seen. With their criss-crossing elastic side panels, discreet metal rings, and ‘liquid touch’ fabric this gladiator style undergarment is more than your typical short. It is a magnet for attraction.

The beauty of the piece does have its limits, however. There are certain things anyone looking for a piece of sexy underwear should know. This type of underwear is not what I would call an everyday wear piece. Instead this is definitely designed and meant for special occasions. In a similar way that a woman buys a piece of lingerie, this is lingerie for men. I have to state this because after wearing it under a pair for jeans for a few hours, the elastic stitching popped on one of the criss crosses. That does not mean it was uncomfortable, it simply means I think the movement was too much for the stitching to handle.

Throughout the day of wearing, this piece stayed extremely comfortable. The brief style top to the rear in conjunction with the thong base took a little getting used to; however, after wearing for about 10 minutes it was extremely comfortable. I greatly enjoyed the hybrid style of the back. Not to mention that the hybrid was wonderful at showing off certain assets, in both the front and back. Add to that the fact that the fabric is cool and sleek and this piece is a pleasure to wear.

Coming in all sizes and 4 colors (Black, white, red and purple) this piece is a must have for any man that is looking to show off his Roman side and have a sexy piece to show off all of the important assets.

What were the inspirations for each line, is there a story behind them?

The inspirations of our collections come from all different angles: we travel a lot, we read a lot, we web-surf a lot, so we are constantly bombarded by thousands of images from fields that are not necessary fashion. We are also constantly solicited by our fans sharing their needs and fantasies and finally, we have an incredible creative team. All this put together reflects in our collections. As crazy as it may sound, a regular item from the day to day life could be the starting point of a new seem, a new fit or an extraordinary underwear innovative design.

Gregg Homme is known for its incredible use of super soft and stretchy materials, can you tell us about what you used in this collection

Our recent Liquid Touch Hyperstretch Microfiber that we timidly introduced in the KINK of the past season is making a definite statement in this new collection: there no words in the dictionary to explain the tactile sensation of that fabric. The sponginess and silkiness and that fabric is simply beyond words and to this day, everyone who ever touched that fabric looked back at us totally mesmerized, trying to describe that incredible sensation. If you get that feeling on your hand, you can just imagine what it feels like when you actually wear it.

Gregg Homme, for the last few years, has done amazing videos; tell us about this year’s video.

There are no doubts about that; our videos are tattooed with fantasies and sensuality. Our fans not only appreciate them but keep asking for more. This new campaign is exploring the angle of the Urban Spy Voyeurism: who can pretend not being drawn to check the cute neighbor walking around his apartment in his underwear?

Where did you get the idea for the plot?

Review: Gregg Homme Voyeur Brief

The pair I was lucky enough to review is the Gregg Homme Voyeur Brief. This is a first time we have reviewed Gregg Homme on the site. It’s part of our week long celebration of the new Gregg Homme line. There will be many fun things this week, so stay tuned!

I will say when I first took the pair out of the envelope I was a little worried. Because the pouch looked a little small and I wasn’t sure I was going to fit in it. This was a worry I should not have had, after many years of seeing them at Curve, I know their fabric stretches and fits your body like a glove!

This pair I wore to work to see how it would hold up during a day. The fabric really was form fitting and a bit sheer. Which to me added to the sexiness of the pair. There is nothing better then wearing a sexy pair of underwear to work to give you a little bit of extra confidence through out the day!

The Voyeur Brief has a very thin waistband and it held up through the day. I was very impressed on this pair. My only complaint and it was a minor one was the tag bothered me a few times but nothing too terrible. The sizing is pretty much spot on and I had no issues at all. If you follow the sizing guide on the Gregg Homme site you should be fine!

These would make a really awesome date night pair of underwear. It is super sexy with a hint of sheer. It made me feel sexy all day. I would definitely recommend this pair for anyone who likes sexy underwear that wears well! It goes back to what I have always said, “Gregg Homme does sexy and does it well.” Unlike some sexy undies these you can wear and are not made to come off after an hour of wearing!
