I LOVE SINGLETS, this is no surprise to anyone who reads this blog. I think me sharing my love dates back to the start of the blog. I loved them because they were sexy as hell and now I love the feel and fit. I was told by someone when you wear one it feels like you are wearing a giant hug. Which it does, I just feel amazing, sexy and great. I think all guys need to give them a try. I say this because more guys are wearing runners and spandex shorts. Not because I love them so much (but that is a secondary reason).
Where can you wear a singlet? Well I’m glad you asked You can wear them for “fun times,” that’s a pretty much given. And it can be a lot of fun, but you can wear for other situations too. I have seen many guys wear them to the gym. I haven’t been to a gym that allows them and only wearing them, but it can def be gym wear. I have worn it under jeans in the summer to a bar night. It can be a cool bodysuit to wear out. Lastly, it’s a great thing to lounge around home wearing. I have worn the for a rainy movie day at home. A bonus is you could sleep in them but I have found them so restricting while I slumber.
One company that is smaller out there but sells and makes some amazing gear is Guff Pup. He always has some really amazing singlets. I can tell he loves them as much as I do. Every time I check his site he has some new designs as well as the classic. I love his camo singlets with orange trim. But he takes some risk with mesh singlets and different cuts (I mean assless ones are not for everyone but they can def be fun).
Right now there are a core group of brands that produce singlets on a regular basis. I wish more would branch out and start producing them. Gruff Pup is one of those brands. He’s doing some amazing work and if you love lower cut singlets, he’s literally got you covered. In this post we show some of my favorites he sells. But go check out his site and often.
We just posted about underwear for bigger guys and here is a company that is listening to its customers. I got a singlet from Gruff Pup that I loved but it was a little tight. If they had a size bigger, It would have been perfect. Wait no more! They now are making their most popular singlets in XXL, which is amazing.
Sizing for singlets is a little different than Underwaer. It’s not just the waist size you’re looking for but also height. Being tall you will need a larger size and if you’re like me, being tall (over 6’2″), you need an XL or XXL. If you don’t have that size the shoulder straps are super tightened will dig in.
I”m excited by this and will be checking them out more often now that they have a larger size! Check out all the singlets at Gruff Pup.
UNB bought the Gruff Pup IMPULSE SINGLET for review. All opinions of the review are my own and were not influenced by Gruff Pup.

- Construction: 10/10

- Fabric: 10/10
Pros:
- Very well made
- Will show off your booty and crotch nicely
- The fabric has an excellent feel to it
Cons:
- While the length was perfect for my body height, I found the thigh areas to be very restraining
Recommendation:
This is my first time wearing gear from Gruff Pup, and wearing a singlet that is made from Polyamide/Spandex as my previous singlets are made from Polyester/Spandex. This is also a different style of singlet than what I’m used to wearing as I’m used to the traditional high school/college wrestling singlet.
While I did not have the opportunity to wear it out to gear night at any of the local bars or clubs, I did wear it around the house during housework and projects. I also wore it once out in public under a T-Shirt and sweatpants. This singlet can definitely be worn either at a gear night or just around the house.
This is my first piece of gear that was made out of this fabric. I really was surprised at how much I really liked both how the fabric felt on me, and how it actually looked. The construction of the singlet is very strong; it’s not cheaply done as you will see in the next paragraph. The fabric and stitching will stand up to a good amount of wear and tear. As someone who cherishes his gear, I can tell you that this singlet will be put to great use and I’m not worried it’s going to fall apart anytime soon.
As a bigger guy, I got the XL size. I found the straps to perfect length for me (5’10”.) As I was neither worried that I was pulling the fabric too much nor that it was too lose and looked sloppy on me. The problem I did have came from having very thick thighs. I found the elastic around the thighs to be very tight, almost uncomfortable. While the models in the pictures show them as a short boxer briefs type, I wore them as briefs. This made the singlet more comfortable. I will say though, the fabric held up well around my thick thighs. The fabric also stretched properly around my large booty.
I would recommend this singlet, but with caution that those who are a bit bigger and have big thighs will need to be ready to compromise a bit with wearing the legs as briefs. The sizes are S-XL with XL being 36-39. Like any gear, if you take care of it, it will take care of you, and I believe this singlet will hold up for a good long with normal to high usage. This singlet will definitely show off your booty and crotch area, and I believe would be great for a night at gear night, or just wearing it around the house playing video games, or doing housework. This singlet will remain in my collection and rotation.

I love singlets and wanted to try something new. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and get the Combat Singlet that is in Army camo and is assless. I’m not one for cut outs in singlet but I wanted a camo singlet. So, I figured why not try it!
Being 6’4” I have had issues with gear fitting. So it’s often that I get a piece of gear and it’s way too tight or doesn’t fit one way or another. When I got the singlet from Gruff Pup, I was hopeful since a lot of the guys were beefier, that this wouldn’t be an issue.
I put on the Combat Singlet and immediately knew that the singlet wasn’t made for the tall guys. The straps were super tight around my shoulders and I hoped that it would work itself out. However, the fabric was less spandex than I thought. The next issue is it was super tight in the thighs, I don’t have I think huge legs but it was really tight.
I was disappointed that I couldn’t fit. If you’re average height and a little beefy I don’t think you will have issues with the singlet. If you’re like me and taller and beefier, then you may not get this one. I think this pair is super hot with the camo and orange trim.
This isn’t a slam at Gruff Pup and their gear. It’s not easy to make gear for all guys of all sizes. If you’re taller than most look for singlets that have a lot more spandex than nylon! I think the singlets at Gruff Pup are super hot and think you guys should check them out!
