Presenting part 2 in the series by DAniel Milijkovic, designer for the men’s underwear brand Obviously, on the 10 things that make men’s underwear comfortable
Part Two: Breathable, Natural Fibers
There was a brief (no pun intended) moment in time when synthetic underwear such as nylon, polyester and rayon were in, thankfully not any more.
So why breathable, natural fibers; primarily to reduce heat build up in your pants.
While there’s still some debate over the exact impact of heat build up on fertility, links have been found between elevated testicle temperature and reduced sperm count, and DNA damage. So why take the risk?
There are a number of materials out there that provide for a more comfortable, breathable underwear experience. For maximum comfort there really is only one way to ensure that your underwear is breathable and that is to go with natural fibers.
Cotton is the most common natural fiber used in underwear manufacture and has been for a a while. Another increasingly popular natural fiber is Modal. Modal is a fabric derived from beech trees and is an excellent conductor of heat, drawing it away from the body. Underwear manufactured from either of these natural fibers, will always be more breathable than synthetic counterparts, adding to the overall comforts of the underwear.
The Obviously for Men range is made from Modal material to ensure a breathable, natural environment is created in your underpants. So when choosing your next pair of underwear, if you have comfort in mind, make sure you choose a pair that is made from natural, breathable fibers.
