What made you go into undies when you’ve done swimwear for the last few years?
It wasn’t until we were more established with swimwear that we decided to move into the underwear market. We knew we wanted to go there eventually and 2012 was honestly the best year to do it. We had four years of experience under our belts with designing and marketing men’s swimwear and also had the opportunity to be close to those in the industry to learn and observe what it takes to be in the business. Many of our swimwear fans were also eager to see what our take on underwear would be. It was the next logical step for us. We also felt that there are a lot of men out there that are a little more shy and would not wear SKMPEEZ out on the beach or at the pool so with the introduction of UNDEEZ into the mix, there is something for every man.
Tell us what is the inspiration of the new line of underwear?
SKMPEEZ has always been known for it’s bright colours and tailored fit and UNDEEZ will do the same. Our brand has always been fun, vibrant and sexy so this first collection has both bold and classic colour combinations. UNDEEZ have been designed with a unique detail that is carried across all of the different cuts. The single blue stripe on the front left is a unique feature to the UNDEEZ that lets everyone know that you are wearing our brand. The first collection was heavily inspired by a more athletic, sporty feel.
What styles do you have in the new Undeez collection?
There are two main silhouettes in our new underwear line: the traditional Briefz and the relaxed and popular Boxz, more commonly known as the boxer brief. The debut of the underwear collection consists of 28 vibrant color variations in four different elastic waistband designs. The high quality construction, 4-way stretch fabric and precision tailoring make UNDEEZ the ultimate in style and comfort, and are meant to be slept in, worked in, and definitely played in! We used a larger 2 inch waistband on many of the cuts, combined with bright vibrant solid colours to make a bold statement and still keep it classy.
What is the future of the Undeez line? anything you can tell our readers?
UNDEEZ in the future will be combining different fabrics as well as carrying over some of the same fun design style from our SKMPEEZ swimwear. We are also planning to introduce new cuts which would most likely include a LOW RIZE as well as JOCKZTRAP.
