Is it time for an actual underwear social network?

Let’s face it Twitter has become a dumpster fire. When Elon took over, I didn’t think he could do much to tarnish the service that many underwear lovers have come to love and make it the first place to share. Not safe for Instagram pics. But twitter told Instagram to hold its beer.

Over half the employees have gone, and there have been more missteps than me on a date. Many on Twitter are sharing their Instagram for a “just in case.” I am sending out DMS to the guys I like and only follow on Twitter, links to other social sites, and my email. I’m doing this because many in the underwear world use pseudonyms instead of real names.

I have used Twitter to promote my site, store, and podcast. I have found and contacted so many guys on it as well. I hope that Twitter doesn’t go down in the dumpster fire of social media. But if it does, we need to get ready now and not after it ends.

Here are some of the ideas I have been kicking around:

Should we start a database to share social media names and emails? Even before this Twitter nonsense, we have known or been one of the people who have had their Instagram/Twitter accounts deleted for violating TOS. There is no way to contact guys whose accounts have been disabled after the fact. A database that lists all the accounts and a gear-related email would be handy.

Should we go to other social sites? Those sites could include Instagram, Tumblr, New Tumblr, Reddit, or others. Tumblr now allows “mature content” again, which I don’t think the timing was a coincidence. But each of these sites has burned us in the past. It would be a good temporary measure, but we still have TOS violations and the chance accounts get deleted forever.

Or should we bite the bullet and start our social media site? A site where you don’t get deleted for showing a bulge, ass, or VPL. A site that welcomes all guys regardless of sexual orientation, underwear love, or anything. A closed site where we can be open, honest, and meet new friends. We have one from Jockstrap Central, who’s had it for years! Those guys are amazing and have always been community-centric. Remember the “Show me. Your jock contest?”

I want to know what you guys want to do, what you would participate in, and what you wouldn’t. The easiest way to do it is to DM me on any of my UNB Tim social media accounts, email me, or join the Email list I’m starting and let’s do something and stop being the stepchild of social media.

Let’s do something, guys; now is the right time, no matter what. I have spent the last few years building a community, and I”m tired of it getting torn down due to people getting kicked off social media. Let’s figure it out and make something awesome, guys.
