First, before starting this post, I’m sorry for the delays this past week. I have a family member in the hospital, and it’s been stressful and draining for the last week. However, we have rounded a corner, and things are significantly improving!! This is a good thing, and I hope to have more podcasts back in production and write more on the blog. I plan to write, but this past week has all gotten in the way. But here, let’s talk about lingerie for men. If you aren’t a fan, you can skip the post.
I was having a conversation with a friend who loves lingerie this week. We talked about it, and he’s a massive fan of it. He looks incredible in it. I’m jealous of how he looks in it. Take the masculine, muscular guy and put him in full lingerie, and that is this guy. He’s a guy you would never know who is into lingerie at all.
As we talked, we shared what we liked about it. I shared that no matter your role in bed (take it as you will, whether gay, bi, or straight), lingerie is for everyone. It doesn’t diminish your role or make you less masculine. It’s about wearing something that makes you feel incredibly sexy. I have partaken in lingerie from time to time and enjoyed it. It’s a mix of taboo; I shouldn’t be wearing this, and an immense feeling of sexual energy. Connecting with someone who sees things the same way is always great.
He mentioned that lingerie is lacking for men and prefers lingerie for women. Due to the amount out there, he has way more to choose from. This got me thinking, and I said, “You know you are right; there are no collections you can buy in the same line that feature options for a thong, g-string, or bikini. Not all guys have the same taste in lingerie, and we must put a set together and choose what we like best. Several brands are doing a great job at it, but we haven’t hit a critical mass that companies are willing to invest in more men’s lines with options like women’s.
Here’s what I want to see:
- There should be more color options for men. I think there is black, red, pink, and occasionally white. Let’s see the entire rainbow of colors and pastels.
- More options for sets that match. I know many guys who want to get the garter, stockings, panties, and more but want to have options in the same color that you can mix and match.
- Acceptance in the larger community to let guys wear sexy lingerie and not be judged for their masculinity, sexuality, or any issue. More guys need to be able to be their authentic selves.
I know many guys who want to explore lingerie but are scared to do so. I say do it and enjoy it. Live your best life, and don’t let anyone tell you what you should wear for underwear or lingerie. We need to support our other underwear guys, even if it’s not our thing.

I agree that we need more lingerie for men. But we need the kind of lingerie that a masculine man would wear. The frills and ruffles make them too girly. The way I see it, it should be more about fabrics and skimpy cuts. We need to see this through a man’s eyes without letting the cutesy fem side that it’s always seen through take over. Some might say we have those already through designers like Joe Snyder and Andrew Christian, but those are regarded as gay targeted designs. I think it’s the prints and sayings on the waistbands that drive that a bit. But if we put out more in different colors and neutral patterns, I think we can get more men into lingerie. As a fellow underwear fan, I’d love that. As it stands I love wearing something sexy every so often. Especially my satin or ice silk bikinis.
I totally agree with you that we need more male lingerie, but I say we need it for the average guy. We need lingerie that isn’t based on feminine designs. Right now, we’re basically adding a pouch to some panties and calling it a day. We need some actual lingerie that doesn’t make us feel fem. As a married, alfa-male hetero-flexible guy, I can tell you that us guys that want to try some of these pieces of clothing too. We want to be and feel sexy. We want our women to want us but without changing the way they see us. In the traditional world, men are always seen as the doms and leaders. And even in the bedroom, some don’t like for that to change. And it’s usually the woman who doesn’t like to see her man that way, tends to lower her drive. Some will say we have some like that from designers like Joe Snyder and Andrew Christian, but some of their stuff looks girly too. The messages on the waistbands and some of the patterns aren’t going to fly for us. Or, it’s fetish and leather gear so you don’t look fem. As I’m sure most of you readers have heard of the IKINGSKY brand from amazon, either from the show or your own searches. I bring them up, because they’re an example of putting out stuff that masc men will try. We can expand on those designs. Give us bold colors not pastels. Give us thicker legstraps for the garters, and don’t make them frilly. Give us fabrics like ice silk, satin, poly blends that are smooth and soft. Give us more variety in styles and cuts. Some of the Chinese sites like Wish and Shein are starting to get the jist of it with some of the styles their putting out. Now we need some of the other designers to make them with better fabrics and consistent sizing. As men, we want lingerie that lets us look and feel sexy, but in a manly way.
Xdress lingerie does a great job at this! they even go up to size 3xl! I do agree they need new colors, it’s always blue and berry with them. They need to dabble in more shades of pink! Or try orange, yellow, red, and green! I’ve suggested this but john who works there said they’d never do it.
I hope that someday it will be normal for guys to have a lingerie collection as women. We can see some first attempts by mainstream brands like Tezenis, Calvin Klein or HOM to have lace options for men, but I am not sure if we can call it lingerie. Personally i would like to wear something more spicy, but my wife is not a fan. She like cotton boxers on me, nothing else, and I hate them 🙂
I kinda have been having a hard time mentally understanding this post. So will there be a place to post or am I just rushing and reading this wrong?
