We all know I’m a big supporter of Spandex Party. First, it’s a great community for spandex lovers to meet, connect, and share pics of their newest and favorite gear. It has quickly become one of my favorite places to interact with other guys who share the love of spandex. If you haven’t created an account yet, what are you waiting for?
The other thing I love about Spandex Party is that they’re taking gear that I know many of us have loved for years and putting a sexy spin on it. Their latest gear includes the Wrestling Singlet, Pro Wrestling Singlet, Full Body Swimsuit, and Mesh Trisuit.
I’ve been saying for years that I wish someone would take real athletic gear and make it sexy and fun. Give us mesh panels, bold colors, extra zippers, and all the other little details that take something from purely athletic to something a spandex guy will immediately notice.
For me, part of the attraction to spandex has always come from seeing real guys wearing actual gear. I still remember the first time I saw a guy wearing a skinsuit in person, and it was amazing. (Unfortunately, he wasn’t into spandex the way I was!) I think many of us, myself included, first got hooked on cycling kits, trisuits, wrestling singlets, and other actual competition gear.
It’s almost like Spandex Party has been listening to me, because they’ve started creating exactly the kind of gear I’ve wanted to see for years. They just had a new drop, and there are some seriously hot pieces in this collection.
Wrestling Singlet
The Wrestling Singlet is probably one of the most recognizable pieces of spandex gear out there. There’s just something about a singlet—the way it fits, the way it moves with your body, and, of course, the way it shows off the body underneath.
Spandex Party’s version gives you that classic wrestling look with a very snug, compressive fit that hugs everything from your shoulders down through your legs. The 88% polyester and 12% elastane fabric has plenty of stretch, but it still has enough tension to give you that tight, second-skin feeling that singlet guys love.
The smooth construction keeps everything clean and streamlined without distracting from the shape of the suit—or the guy wearing it. They even suggest sizing down if you want an even tighter and bolder fit. Whether wrestling is actually your thing or you appreciate wrestling gear for entirely different reasons, this is a great take on the classic singlet.
My Take: You guys know I love a singlet, and the colors here are so much fun. The new white, pink, and blue versions are amazing. And don’t worry—the red one is sticking around. I love that these still look like actual wrestling gear while giving us colors that make them a little more playful.
Pro Wrestling Singlet
If the Wrestling Singlet is the classic, the Pro Wrestling Singlet takes things in a slightly different—and definitely more interesting—direction.
It’s inspired by the gear you see in professional wrestling, but Spandex Party has added partial mesh construction that immediately gives it more of a gear and fetish edge. The mesh makes the suit lighter and more breathable, but let’s face it: the subtle see-through quality is probably going to be the part that gets most guys’ attention.
You still get that tight, body-hugging wrestling silhouette, but the combination of solid and mesh fabrics adds another dimension to the look. Made from 85% polyester and 15% spandex, it has plenty of stretch to stay close to the body while letting you move.
This is one of those pieces that can look legitimately athletic at first glance while having a completely different personality when you get a little closer.
My Take: This takes the traditional singlet to the next level. These really have the look of an actual team suit, right down to the Spandex Party branding on the leg. I think they’re super fun. It’s that combination of authentic-looking wrestling gear and something made specifically for guys who really appreciate wrestling gear that makes these work for me.
Full Body Swimsuit
This one immediately takes me back to the late ’90s and early 2000s, when full-body competition suits started taking over swimming. If you remember those incredible sharkskin-style suits, you’ll understand exactly where Spandex Party is going with this one.
The Full Body Swimsuit uses a thicker, slicker fabric made from 80% polyamide and 20% elastane, giving it much stronger compression than some of their lighter gear. That means you’re getting that amazing, completely wrapped-in-spandex feeling from top to bottom.
The textured surface gives it that unmistakable old-school competition skinsuit appearance, while the full-body cut creates one long, uninterrupted spandex silhouette. I also love seeing this style come back as gear because full-body swimwear has always had a certain appeal beyond the pool.
If you love compression, slick fabrics, and being completely encased in spandex, this may be the standout piece of the entire new collection.
My Take: This one was an immediate “OMG, NO WAY!” for me. How many of us remember the full-body suits competitive swimmers used to wear? Then the rules changed, the full suits disappeared, and the guys eventually went to jammers.
I probably know 10 or more guys who have one of these old-school suits on their gear wish list. Even though you don’t see swimmers competing in them anymore, Spandex Party is giving us the chance to get that look again. For those of us who remember that era of swim gear, this one hits all the right buttons.
Mesh Trisuit
The Mesh Trisuit may be the piece that best represents what I love about Spandex Party: taking something that looks like legitimate athletic gear and pushing it firmly into gear territory.
At first glance, it has the classic one-piece triathlon silhouette, but instead of standard performance fabric, the suit is made from a semi-transparent stretch mesh. That changes everything.
The 80% nylon and 20% spandex material hugs the body, moves with you, and gives you the tight one-piece feeling you expect from a trisuit, while the mesh lets a lot more of the guy underneath become part of the look.
There’s even minimal triathlon padding built in, so it retains some of the feel and construction of actual cycling and tri gear without the bulky padding getting in the way when you’re wearing it for other reasons.
It’s sporty, revealing, and just a little naughty—which is pretty much exactly where athletic gear and spandex fetish should meet.
My Take: This is the kind of skinsuit I want! The mesh panels aren’t 100% see-through, but they’re revealing enough to show off and give the suit that sexy edge.
I know some guys have said they don’t like the Spandex Party branding on the gear, but I actually think it adds to the look. Think about how much real cycling, triathlon, and racing gear is covered with team names, sponsors, and advertising. Why shouldn’t this have Spandex Party across it? Plus, you’re supporting and representing a great community for spandex lovers. I say wear the branding proudly.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I think this is an amazing collection, and I hope Spandex Party keeps producing gear like this for years to come. What I especially love is that they aren’t completely reinventing what spandex gear should be. They’re taking the athletic gear many of us already love and asking, “How can we make this a little sexier and a lot more fun?”
That’s exactly what I’ve wanted to see.
There is one downside right now for those of us in the United States: tariffs. I spoke with Simon about the current situation, and he told me U.S. customers are currently facing an additional tax of around 40% when ordering. He’s working on the issue and looking for ways to make it easier for those of us in the U.S. to get our hands on this incredible gear.
Hopefully, that gets sorted out soon because there are definitely a few pieces here I want in my gear drawer.
