Are you a fan of fetish? If so we a great line for you. Timoteo’s Cellblock13 just released the Asylum collection. Fetishwear is it’s own section of underwear. Either you like it or you don’t. There is very little middle ground. Cellblock13, I would say, is a little more on the hard core end of fetishwear. It is made for some serious playtime or to be seen at a bar night.
The new line has a Chap Pant, Lace Up Jock Trunk, Lace Up Jock Brief. Unlike the other lines they have released this one has only two colors, red/black and Navy/Yellow. This line is made out of nylon/spandex material. When I first saw it I thought it could be swimwear because of the fabric. My personal favorite is the Navy/Yellow over the Red/Black.
When I met with Timoteo in Vegas he told me about this line and said it would be shipping very soon. He was not kidding, the line is out on their site and retailers. He went into detail about the line and pointed out the back. The back is reinforced and won’t roll, bunch up or any other combination. It will stay in place and look great. There is nothing worse than getting a pair and have to constantly readjust it. Especially a pair like the chap, that maybe worn out without anything over it!
Timoteo really knows how to make amazing fetishwear. The line for Cellblock13 never seems to amaze me. Just when I think I have seen it all they do something like this, where they play with fabric. When I first discovered my love of underwear, I was a colors guy. Meaning I loved solid bright colors. I wore reds, blues, yellows and any other color I could find. It was the 80’s and colors were in fashion with men’s underwear. Then the 90’s came and the color went out of underwear for a while. Slowly over that decade and through the 2000’s, color crept back into the men’s underwear.
In the 2000/2010’s colors really came back. We got colors we didn’t really see in previous years. Those are pink, purple, pastel, and any other color designers could come up with in their designs. I would say in the last 2-3 years prints have come on strong. I”m not talking stripes or geometric. But custom made prints like from Discover (above). They have taken inspiration from their Latin American heritage.
They aren’t the only ones using great prints. Other brands such as Obviously and Diesel have embraced amazing prints. And more and more companies are starting to think outside the solid underwear box. Which is awesome!
You maybe asking why do I like these prints so much. I’m a firm believer that underwear should reflect your personality as much as your clothes do. If you read this blog then you already hold this to be truth! So when I let go of my “I must wear only solids/stripes” my eyes opened to some amazing underwear.
I am finding these prints are letting my personality. I am looking at underwear I would have passed over before for being too brash, gaudy or crazy. The joys of loving underwear, for me, is the ability to be open to new things (even boxer briefs). I think we need to challenge ourselves and step outside our color box and enjoy something we normally wouldn’t. You may just discover you love it!

Underwear companies are no longer just selling underwear. Many are branching out into other areas. The most obvious is swimwear, however more are going into activewear and loungewear. The latest brand to enter activewear is 2(X)ist. I got a chance to see this in Vegas back in February!
In February Jason Scarlotti gave me a run through on the new collection. I will say I was impressed with the collection. I looked back at my notes and said “We must cover this.” The collection has what you would expect, shorts, pants, shirts and hoodies. But, it has the 2(X)ist stylish spin. It is a brand extension that really is a good one!
I got a chance to talk to Jason this week about the collection. It was just released and has been flying off the shelf. He said if you go shop you may have issues finding your size because it has been super popular. Which is a great problem to have when you create a new collection.
My favorites are the Branded Fleece Hoodie, Terry Sweat Pant and Terry Short. The Branded fleece hoodie has 2(X)ist written across the chest in bright blue letters and outlined in day glow yellow. Made in just the traditional heather sweat material. The second is the Terry Sweat Pant, 2(X)ist has updated this classic with a more flattering fit and silhouette. Available in light heather and black heather. The last pair I like is the Terry Short. Its similar to the sweat pants but made into a short. Made in Mineral Teal Heather, Light Heather and Black Heather.
So if you have been looking for some new workout wear or even use it to lounge around the house, check this new line out. I think it’s super fun. Find them at the 2(X)ist website.
Jockstrap Central carried DT a good number of years ago and despite being a best seller, the company was near impossible to deal with so they dropped them. However, when their phone rang a short while ago and it was DT contacting us letting them know that the company was sold and under new management, they quickly put in a new order for their latest designs. Not only has the company improved, but so has the craftsmanship of their underwear. For obvious reasons, Jockstrap Central is relaunching with the new DT Essentials jockstrap and jock brief. Here’s the details.

Sure, the Essentials Jock looks great but it’s also all about comfort. Not only is it made with a super-soft brushed mostly cotton fabric with a hint of spandex for stretch, shape retention and fit but it’s got a very generous, non-constricting contoured pouch design. Don’t think that the front get’s all the attention, it’s a “jock” brief after all! The back would normally be a traditional brief back except this has got a very hot hole cut out of it and edged with another round of contrasting stitching in white perfectly framing your ass. Can you say bulls eye!

We love Curbwear. They have some of the funnest photography in mens’ underwear. The personal favorite has been the subway (tube) shoot from last year!
I love Baskit! Here is their latest quick and I mean quick video from the most current shoot ” As we were doing a fast photo shoot a few weeks ago (16 items in less than 4 hours) our models took a quick break for a dip in the pool on the location. But of course, they didn’t want to get their Baskit wet. ;)”

I love an info graphic. This year Garçon Model did a survey and created this great graphic about some of the trends happening in the men’s underwear market. I think this confirms some things we have always thought of in undies!
We had a reader send us a pic! I am so happy when we have readers who send in their pics! This Scott and here is some info about him: well, I am definitely not a model. I am just your average Joe (Scott) from Kansas City. I spend my days working miracles in the information tech field. I’ll travel at the drop of a hat and have. My record is 36 hours between deciding to take a trip and ending up on a beach in Mazatlan. I didn’t take your “swim brief challenge” this year, because most of the time I already wear swim briefs. I’ve never been a big fan of board shorts. Briefs are definitely more comfortable, plus they give a better tan line.
Were you a fan of Catch of the Day? If you were they released a new range in the line. The previous pair was created when aussieBum, Sean Ashby, wanted to see a model in a pair of mesh underwear. This sounds like something I would do! After seeing the pair on the model they decided to make the line! So not every pair is planned our in a release schedule, some just happen!

I wore my Blue Collar Underwear today and love them a lot! I want you guys to go check them out! They have a few new styles and some great new pics!
Have you ever wanted to design your own pair of underwear? Well Shrine Boxers is giving you that chance! They launched a contest to have you guys design the perfect pair. After the final six are picked it then gets voted on! The winner then goes into production! How cool is that? I will admit I would love to design a pair of undies and have guys across the world wear them!
I got a chance to talk to Rob, the owner, at Shine Boxers yesterday and here is what he said about the contest and brand “Shrine Boxers has created the ultimate underwear that keep you cool and comfortable in every situation. We are getting ready for our upcoming Kickstarter launch by holding our first Underwear Design Challenge. He also told me on the call he read my “I hate boxer briefs” post and said that their boxer briefs were going to change my mind. I told him to BRING IT! I met him back in February in Vegas at the UNB Meet and Greet we have a Magic. The first thing I noticed is he’s taller than me, which is rare being 6’4″, and has a really cool back story. We will bring you that soon!

Well before I get into that question I have to say look at the picture above? Hell yeah it’s sexy. Gone are the days where it’s men in robes and PJ’s. Now men’s loungewear has entered a new era. That era is all about comfort, cuts and style!
In the past when I thought of loungewear it always had a negative connotation of old polyester and stiff cotton. They were never really comfortable. They were fashion over form! Now loungewear should be comfortable and you should be able to wear it on a Sunday all day and never have to change. More brands are making loungewear in fabrics like Modal and Pima cotton. These are both super soft and amazing against the skin. The Gregg Homme Modalounge is the perfect example of the new fabrics. Super stylish and comfy in one!
New loungewear is flattering to men. Remember those PJ’s you used to see on TV? They were huge and didn’t show a guys body. N2N Bodywear has changed the old rules of loungewear with the collection called “Lounge” It’s loose but also shows off a guy! If you really want to show off the Lounge Singlet is for you. Made out of a semi sheer fabric its not as tight fitting as a regular singlet, ut the sex appeal is off the charts. You will be showing off all you have!
As you can see again in the pics above the style has come back in to men’s loungewear. This includes colors. They still have the traditional light blue, but they also have tan, grey, maroon and more. As more guys start wearing this around the house, they want it in different colors so if someone comes over they won’t go “you still in your pi’s?” Its super fun!
