My New Years Underwear Resolution

new-years-underwear-resulutionNew Years resolutions always seem to be something we aspire too like stop smoking, loose weight, work out to get killer abs. Well one of those is something I’m working on, but I wanted to do an underwear resolution. It got me thinking… What should it be?

First, I thought about stepping outside my comfort zone. Then thought I already do that. I wear pretty much everything. Over the course of UNB I have worn thongs, lace, boxer briefs and any style you can think of. So that one is out.

Next, I thought about to get my underwear collection better organized. I really want to a better organization of pairs I love and wear on a regular basis. While this is a great one to do, but this is something we should all do on a regular basis. While I will do this, it won’t be my resolution.

So what is my resolution? I have decided to try more non-US brands of underwear. I really want to branch out and try some amazing brands that I have heard of but never tried. Those brands include Geronimo, Man Store, Bruno Banani just to name a few. I am going to try not to focus on any one part of the world but try all kinds. We will see how it goes and I’ll report on it when I try something new.

What Color Underwear Should You Wear on New Years?

new-years-underwearWe here in the States don’t know much about this, but our friends in Latin/South American have known that wearing certain colors of underwear can affect your New Years. I think its a tradition we need to start here in the States

Yellow – Not a traditional color here, but it is said if you wear Yellow Underwear it will bring you good luck in the new year. Who couldn’t use a little bit of luck! So I just may break out the Yellow Cocksox Backstage Briefs!

Red – I found this out this year that wearing red underwear is supposed to bring you luck in the love department. If you already have an amazing partner/spouse, you may not need this one. But if you don’t then give it a try, it may be your year to find love!

Black – In many parts of the world it is believed that if you wear black underwear on New Years it will bring you bad luck. So maybe we don’t want to tempt fate by wearing black undies and stick with one of the colors above just to be safe!

Style Brief Timoteo Varsity Crew Short

Timoteo-Varsity-CrewIt’s cold and rainy here today. On those types of days I am a Boxer Brief guy. Yes you heard me right I said I wear boxer briefs on cold days. The extra coverage keeps me warm on those days below 30 degrees. So because of the weather I wanted to profile a really fun pair of boxer briefs and that pair is the Varsity Crew Short.

These are part of the Varsity line they released a few months ago. Included in this line are long johns, Jock and super low. I love these for many reasons but the first is for the colors. They come in Blue/Grey/White and Red/White/Grey. The mix of the white and grey and the colored trim look awesome. But this is not all, the waistbands and trim make the pairs pop.

Timoteo does really great job designing underwear. The pouch on these are of a different color then the main body so it accentuates and draws attention to the pouch. So these would make a great date pair, or if you’re bold enough wear them to the gym!

Lastly, these are longer boxer briefs. The longer ones have really been a big trend this year. Timoteo has made some super fashionable over the knee boxer briefs. They are sporty but didn’t loose the fun factor.

Review 2EROS NEO Jockstrap

Over the last year 2EROS has really come into their own. I remember their launching in 2006 with some great colors and photography. They really made me take notice. Jason over there keeps designing amazing undies that always surprises me. I got to try them for the first time last year and loved each and every pair.  This time I get to try the Neo Jock.

My first impressions were it’s pretty cool. The color I got was the Red color. The mix of the black and bright color was an amazing contrast. The second thing I liked was the pouch. There is a fly that is fully functional at the top of the pouch. At first I thought this was crazy but after wearing it was really cool. I wondered if it would sag or not be functional through out the day. Another impression is the straps are lower then traditional jocks. It’s more a brief cut that is a jock, it’s almost full cut across the front.

I wore this pair for some errands and a busy day so I knew a jock would be perfect for the day. I slide the pair on and the straps take a little work. I’m used to the straps getting on right form the start, these took a little work to get in the right position. I had the worry that because it was different position it would be annoying, But once on they stayed in place and felt great. So, I want you guys to know the straps are a little different. The pouch is great. I even used the fly. Not to be crude but the waist band is high and to go to the bathroom I said what the heck, I used the fly and put everything back in and it never felt like it lost its shape.

The sizing is a little smaller then we expect but not really bad. I wear a 36-38 and wore an X-large. But double check the sizing charts. The fabric on these felt great. It’s a modal blend and really feels amazing. Modal has fast become one of my favorite fabrics for underwear. Because it’s soft and feels amazing!

One last thing I forgot about is there is a rubber tag in the back. It’s interesting and fun. I felt it a few times but to me it wasn’t bad. It’s a cool thing they added to make it a little more fun. So it’s mix of fun and fetish!

Pros:

  • Great Color Combinations
  • Incredible Modal Fabric
  • Fly is fully functional

Cons:

  • Straps may bother some – I found them good after adjusting
  • Rubber Tag some may not like aesthetically

New 2xist.com was released!

Firefox2(X)ist is one of the mainstays of men’s underwear. They were around at the start of the men’s underwear revolution. Each year they continue to do great collections and make amazing underwear. This week they redesigned their site. It was a bit of a surprise when I found out.

They took their site to the next level. It’s very easy to navigate and find exactly what you want. One of the things I am loving is the filtering that is incorporated into the site. I hate it when I know what I want and color but have to sort through 200 selections. This site can sort by size, color and collection. So say you want a large, that is purple and in the Sliq Mesh line, and BAM there it is. This is under the styles

Firefox 2The individual pages are improved. The pictures are larger with a enlarged section as well. It is also easier to change and find colors, you can find the colors on the right side next to the picture.

Men’s Underwear Double Standard

Before you read this post, watch the video above from Tommy John! Ok now that you have watched, and I know most of you don’t care about women’s underwear, but it makes a great point.  There is a double standard in men’s underwear. Its that men can get away with having terrible underwear, while women can’t. They are expected to always have good undies.

I also want to preface this by saying this is not just relegated to the straight market. There are tons of gay men who have incredibly horrible underwear. Granted we are known for being underwear early adopters, but for every guy who loves and cares about underwear there are 3-4 more who don’t pay attention to it and have underwear with holes and worn out elastic.

This here drives me insane. Usually when I meet a guy we make over the underwear. But it’s time we do this on a national scale. I have been racking my brain how to do this, show guys the days of bad underwear are just unacceptable.

We need your help with this project. We want all our readers to:

  • Not be ashamed of your love of underwear
  • Have honest conversations with friends about underwear
  • Buy the underwear you feel awesome wearing
  • Get rid of underwear as it wears out
  • Experiment with different styles and fabrics
  • Never listen to anyone who puts down your underwear choices

Lets all pledge to do this going forward and get every guy in amazing undies!

When You Stop Believing in Santa…You Get Underwear from…

It got me thinking about being a kid and getting underwear when you really wanted toys and fun things. Now, the roles are reversed, how many of us would LOVE get get some undies under the three?

It got me thinking what would have been on my list for Santa in underwear. This made me wonder, who would you want underwear from? Knowing the guy who reads the blog, having your mother would rule her out. I don’t think many mothers would buy Gregg Homme or Cocksox for you. I think for this same reason family members would be rules out as well.

The most obvious would be a significant other. I think tho could go two ways. First they could buy us something they know we love. Outside of our selves the person we date/marry would see us the most in undies. I know when i do date i love to wear something super sexy at times to surprise them. Second, would be something they want to see us wearing. I think this is easier if they have a guy thats into underwear. I think most readers are adventurous and if our partner bought us a thong or something wild we would gladly put it on and show our appreciation.

The next is friends. A lot of my friends know I love underwear. They know about the blog and I have a few I would love getting undies from on Christmas. I have a friend who likes similar things as I do and think I would trust his gifting. However, if you’re in a relationship this could cause issues if someone gives you undies.

I am curious who you would you like to get undies from? Was getting undies an option for you this year? Lastly, if you got undies, who did you get them from and why did you get?
