Rating: 10/10

  • Daily Fit: 10/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros: Pouch lift, athletic styling, colors

Cons: Not a problem for me, but well endowed guys will find the pouch is a bit small and may have a challenging stuffing the sausage & meatballs in them; also, with a double lined cotton pouch, you will have sweaty balls after a workout.

Recommendation: the aussieBum WonderJock Pro (WJ Pro) is a great add to anyone’s collection for price, style, fit, and function. It says a lot when I ‘the Jockstrap Junkie’ goes back for repeat purchase instead of just moving on to the next brand/style. Hopefully, aussieBum never retires the WJ Pro!

I purchased my first WJ Pro in February of 2016 and still wear them today. The elastic is finally wearing out on the legstraps, so I just bought a coupler more of the WJ Pro to replenish. I’ve been an aussieBum customer for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed aussieBum’s products with only a few misses (I’ll review the Tonka Jockstrap another time). To say I have a history with aussieBum is an understatement as my collection includes aussieBum’s WJ Air, Lasher, Flashr, Samurai, Enlarge It, and Hunk jockstraps. I was a bit skeptical on the enhancement feature; however it’s proven to be a functional asset for me.

Because I’ve been wearing the WJ Pro for several years, I’ve had the opportunity to wear these jockstraps for sleeping, daily wear, lifting, throwing, cardio, and lounging around. The aussieBum WJ Pro is a great all around jockstrap. One of the great benefits of the ‘Pouch Enhancing Technology’ is when I’m on the rowing machine as it keeps the sausage & meatballs out of the way of my thighs. Nobody likes flattened meatballs, or they would have ordered a hamburger.

A composition of 90% cotton and 10% spandex make the WJ Pro. The waistband has a nice width of 1-1/2” and the legstraps have a width of 1-1/4”. The legstraps attach to the waistband in the traditional positions and I would consider this to be a low rise on the hips and front. The pouch’s ‘Pouch Enhancing Technology’ & ‘Free Swing Boost’ make for an interesting fit as everything is contained snugly, but also pronounced out front. For those not familiar with ‘Pouch Enhancing Technology, it’s simply a fabric gusset going horizontally in the interior of the pouch where one places his sausage & meatballs over the gusset into the pouch for a lifting effect. The construction quality is also top notch with the pouch being double stitched and the center seam in the pouch is smooth.

Large is the size I purchased and is the norm for me in aussieBum jockstraps which I find their size chart runs on point for their jockstraps. Other styles in aussieBum I switch it up between large and extra-large and that’s due to thigh size, not waist.

aussieBum is a staple in my jockstrap drawer and I highly recommend trying out aussieBum, especially their WJ Pro jockstraps. The WJ Pro and its cousin the WJ Air are worth the add to your collection. They’re fun, stylish, but still have that athletic look & feel. Plus, they make my sausage look a little plumper!

A lot of you guys out there are rocking the thongs. But don’t forget about one of the old school styles, the jock. It’s not just for the gym any more. Companies are making them for fashion, fun and working out. aussieBum is no stranger to the jock.

One of my favorite jocks they have right now is the Grizzly Jock. There are several reasons. Frist is the design. the front looks almost like a brief. It looks very contemporary. Then in the back, it’s more of an old school design with the wide waistband. Mix that with large leg straps and I think it’s a winner!

The design is the best of old and new. The fabric of the pouch is a sports mesh. Making it perfect for the gym or working out. Jocks are perfect for the gym because they give you amazing support.

aussieBum has always made great undies but I have noticed a trend over the last year. They are putting a focus on performance underwear. The new IronTrain line is one that is designed for working out and being active. This isn’t the first one we have covered and it’s great to see brands create a mix of fun and performance underwear.

We guarantee greater lift enhancement with patented ‘Pouch Enhancing Technology’ & ‘Free Swing Boost’ support. The 4D grid framing technology is made to give you some amazing support. If you have been a fan of the line you will already know about this. If not it’s an enhancing technology that takes what you have and gives it a bit of a boost in your undies. Perfect for those who want a bit more up front.

Every year we get questions about where people can find a Tanga in the States. The style is very similar to a string bikini. A tanga has no fabric on the sides other than the waistband. I would say, currently this style is not huge in the US, but it has it’s hardcore fans. aussieBum is also, no stranger to making sexy swimwear.

The Tanga swim bikini is for the true exhibitionist. Made from a fine nylon elastane blend, this new shape fits like a dream and shows off every asset in just the way you want. Experience it now in five bold colours.

As aussieBum says this is for the guy who wants to show off. It leaves very little to the imagination. Let’s be serious, if you’re going to be rocking this pair, you want to be seen and be the center of attention. It comes in four colors, blue, red, black, and white. White is for the really bold guy because white has a tendency to show off a lot more when wet. I’m not sure if this is lined or not.

One of the surprises of the pair is the cost, it’s about $25. Which is very reasonable for swimwear. I think this is in the sweet spot for many guys that have been seeking this style. Plus, being from aussieBum, they are a name you can trust for quality and construction.

If you have been after this pair, get one or a few now!

aussieBum Thongs

I’ve been a bit on the busy side lately and just recently got back to check out what is new at aussieBum. To my surprise, they’ve added two new lines with thongs in it. This is the first I’ve seen a thong from them, but I’ve been told they did offer them before. I’m a fan of the no elastic waistband so both of these appeal to me. Both thongs have a fairly sleek look. The two lines with thongs are the Skin Nude and CU. The lines also have what they call the exposed brief too.

The Skin Nude line comes in the colors skin (probably could call it nude) and black. Here’s what aussieBum say about the Skin Nude line “Comfort comes as standard with a silky smooth second skin feels.” The thong is a pretty traditional looking cut with fairly narrow looking sides. The exposed brief has the regular centered seamed pouch, but the thong has a bit different stitching. The bottom two-thirds has the typical centered seam pouch look then the top is stitched horizontal on to it. The picture shows it better than I can describe it. This line is made of 85% nylon and 15% elastance. They can be machine washed cold, but should be hung to dry.

The CU line was inspired by the Skin one. It is a limited edition line, so get them before they are gone. The thong and exposed brief are made of a blend of 90% nylon and 10% lycra or could be 85% nylon and 15% lycra. They state it differently in the description and garment care. This line mentions hand washing but does say gentle wash cold too. Does need to be hung to dry. The CU line is available in the traditional colors of white or black.

It’s nice to see them giving an option to the thong wearers to their line. Hopefully, they can keep them around and add more to their offering.

aussieBum Tanga Swim Brief

Swim season is approaching here, and we had a bit of a taste of it a couple of days last week. So I’m ready to break out the swimwear. aussieBum has added some new designs to their existing lines along adding some new lines. Let’s take a look at what’s new.

Their Lowrider line has had a dozen new options added to it. The photos will show the designs better than I can describe them, so go check them out on aussieBum’s website. There are horizontal and vertical stripe options. Emblems with the aussieBum name on it. Suits with just the aussieBum name on it. Emblems with Bondi Beach and surf rowing. Here are the new names of the options: Ocean, Australia, Blue Wave, Olive, Stripe, Rower, Original, Icon, Bondi, Scarlet, Steel, and Shark. These suits are made of 80% Nylon and 20% Elastane. Tanga from aussieBum is the skimpiest swimsuit they offer. Here’s what they say about it, “The Tanga swim bikini is for the true exhibitionist. Made from a fine nylon elastane blend, this new shape fits like a dream and shows off every asset in just the way you want. Experience it now in five bold colors.” To me, it looks like a nice form-fitting suit, which would be great for sunning. It’s a great looking string bikini suit that is available in four colors: black, navy, red, and white. This suit excite anyone else?

Sidelined is made of a blend of 86% polyester and 14% elastane. They rate this line with a sheer rating of low (3/10). The suit can be machine washed cold, but needs to be lined dry.

It’s Swimwear Sunday! The swimwear is coming out fast a furious. Over the next few months, we will bring you some of the best swimwear on the market. This week we decided to bring one of the classic brands in swim. That brand is aussieBum! The pair we chose for this week is the Tropics! I’m sure at some point we will bring out the super low, which are total classics in the world of swimwear.

Tropical prints have always been in men’s swimwear for as long as I can remember. The prints are inspired by places like Hawaii, Bali, and other tropical destinations Even if we can’t go to these places, we want to feel like we are in the tropics. This line comes in three different color prints, white, blue and red. Each print is slightly different than the other. I like that it’s not the same print in another color.

This is what they tell us about the line: “Feel the heat of the tropical sun with aussieBum’s new Tropics swim range. Unique sublimated print swimwear in 3 vibrant colourways featuring a totally tropical hibiscus floral design. Strictly limited edition – get yours now”

As mentioned above, this pair is a limited edition. Meaning if you don’t get it soon, you will be wishing you bought it. More brands are creating limited edition pairs. The fabric is an 80% Nylon, 20% Elastane blend. You can machine wash but line dry. Do not put in the dyer. As all swimwear after wear we suggest, as does aussieBum, rinse out the swimwear to get out any sunscreen, salt, chlorine and other chemicals. The longer you leave them in they may damage the fabric.

If you love this pair get over to aussieBum now and get it. If you delay and want it, you may miss out!

aussieBum has released the 2.0 version of the Catch line. If you aren’t familiar with this line, it was created out of a whim. We had Sean Ashby on the UNB Podcast a few years ago and he mentioned they created this pair because they had a model with some great assets and they wanted to show it off. They went and created it real quick, never thinking it would be a production pair, and here we are years later and its version 2.0.

I would say this is a definite second version of the Catch. This time it comes in white and black. The styles are a brief (like the 1.0 version) and a bikini. Both are made out of 100% see-through mesh. This is one time when the aussieBum slogan comes in handy. “If you doubt yourself, wear something else.” These are for a guy who wants to show off big time! I mean the pictures don’t feature a model at all! That should tell you something.

This is what aB says about the pairs:

Leave nothing to the imagination with the new Catch of the Day, back at aussieBum in a new and improved style. This innovative fish net inspired underwear range is designed for the man who dares to wear it. Available in 2 hot styles; Brief and bikini, Catch of the Day reflects attitude, style & confidence

Why not try something out of your comfort zone? Something that leaves little to the imagination and could be the start of a great night for you and someone special!

This isn’t the only surprise in the email that I got about this pair, I think they have made their first thong as well! More on that this weekend!

Leggings are one thing for me that are really starting to take off. I have seen them grow over the last year. Guys are starting to wear them to the gym, to run and just be active in. So far most of them have been very classic. Meaning they are all solid colors and usually black, navy and such. There are. a few companies bucking this trend of classic. One company joining those ranks is aussieBum they just released the Pro-Fit line.

The Pro-Fit line is a line of super fun designed leggings for men to work out in. It doesn’t matter if it’s the gym, running or cross fit. These are designed to help you work harder. Also, there are no solid designs. There are 8 super fun prints. Some brighter than others but all will make you stand out in a crowd. This is definitely a time when the aB slogan comes into effect “If you doubt yourself wear something else.”

The official description is:

Unleash the power within and take your workout beyond your limits with Pro-Fit leggings – the latest from the style masters at aussieBum. Highly engineered for maximum support, in electric colours and radical designs, Pro-Fit is a whole new generation of sports action wear. Run faster, jump higher, lift heavier…go beyond with Pro-Fit

I love these prints. I think aussieBum make a. line many guys will love to wear. If you work hard at the gym and want to show off this is one way to do it without going super skimpy! Or if you’re like me and just want something super colorful and fun to help motivate you to work out, this is a winner as well. aussieBum plays by their own rules and continues to make amazing gear for guys. Make sure you go check out the entire line at the aussieBum site.
