2EROS has an amazing style! How Jason designs a lot of what he puts out just boggles my mind! He has a feel on what looks amazing on a guy. The cuts, designs and colors just accent a man’s body so freaking well. The new Beach swimwear fits the bill on that as well.

As you can see the new Beach swimwear is kind of a throwback to the logo deign they have used in the past on the Icon series. The 2EROS logo is center on the back and accents your assets! This pair however has a nautical theme so in each part of the logo is a sailboat and anchor. It’s an evolution of the design that is just super fun.

The Beach is a low rise swim brief. So don’t expect a competition cut swim brief, it will have smaller coverage and for many of you out there this is a bonus. The colors they have available are Navy and Gold. There is one small detail that 2EROS does that I really love. That is the drawstring. They put aglets on the end of the string that are 2eros branded.

The Beach is available now at the 2EROS site for $54.95 AUD. It’s super fun and hope to see many of you out there wearing it this year.

narciso-swimwear-2015-004-1Are you a guy who loves colors and patterns? If you are then a brand we have covered a little on the blog is for you. That brand is Narciso. They are based out of Argentina and have a really great design aesthetic. They do underwear and swimwear mainly with a bit of lounge/activewear.

Who is Narciso? You have seen them on our Facebook page and blog a few times. They do amazing campaigns for each season. They just released the new swimwear campaign for 2015. They have a philosophy “Create intimate clothing and gear for the masculine public that allows them to have a distinctional factor to the conventional thing that they can find in the market”.

They just released their “Summer” campaign for their new swimwear collection. Which is the perfect time because the southern hemisphere is in summer and the northern hemisphere is getting ready for summer (I know it’s Feb but how many of us are looking forward to summer). The collection is pretty much all trunk. Meaning square cuts not board shorts or swim shorts. That also means there are no swim briefs. They have done some in the past but not right now.

narciso-swimwear-2015-001-1

The underwear collection is massive! They have everything form classic colors and cuts to some bright fun prints and everything in between. Unlike the swimwear the underwear has styles ranging from boxer briefs to thongs. Its a very diverse underwear line. I can’t go through everything but you should go over and check out what they have to offer. You will find something you will like.

Where can you find Narciso? The best place is their website. I can’t recall a site or store that still carries them in the US. There used to be a few but they have all stopped carrying the brand. Go check out the entire collection!

drinkLast year we launched the Swim Brief Challenge. We will continue this again this year. But before we get in the full swing we thought we should give you guys a few suggestions for those who have never worn a swim brief in public. We aren’t going to list any super skimpy designs but some fuller cuts that you can build up your confidence before going full on swim bikini!

Pistol Pete Lifeguard BriefPistol Pete Lifeguard Brief – Pistol Pete has great swimwear! This pair is a fuller cut with 2 stripes on the side. Available in white, blue or red for $39.50

Perdition-FAronik Perdition. Aronik has amazing pics of their swim. They have some super fun prints but you can go classic with the Perdition. Perdition is a solid black swim brief for $92.00

Bwet Caledonia BriefBwet Caledonia – Not everyone wants a solid pair. You can show some personality and not go over the top with the Caledonia wish is a red/navy/white color block pair. 45 Euros-

dash-white-1_2Teamm8 Dash – They have created a simple yet amazing swim brief. This brief is higher cut on the thigh and is available in white, red, black, navy and pink. $59 AUD

csx77-signal_red-1CSX 77 Retro Swim Brief – This may seem an odd choice for a swim brief challenge but the new Cocksox. The CSX line has a full cut pair without the famous Cocksox pouch. It has a color stripe on the right hip. Available in white, black or red. $49.00

If you’re going to brave out in a swim brief this year let us know. If you are going to wear one and have question email us! We want more guys to wear them out in public. We are hoping to change public opinion on them!

We are a big fan of guys in swim briefs. This was brought to our attention this week. The 2015 USF Kappa Sigma Bachelor Auction created a video for their event. They put some production behind the video and the brothers of Kappa Sigma were rocking the Swim Briefs. I say good job guys and they raised over $2,000 in profits. Next year I say you do a video like this and raise money online too! You would make a killing!

As we stated earlier we its Australia Day! And what timing that Cocksox released new colors in their swimwear lines! How many colors? Each style has up to six new colors! Cocksox always picks great colors to make their underwear and swimwear. The styles with new colors are CX02N Brief, CX04 Draw String Brief and CX22N Thong.

So what are the six colors? Amalfi Green, Marlin Blue, Shiraz, Gunmetal Grey, Code Red and White Pointer.

cx02N-cocksox

The CX02N Swim Brief is available in Amalfi Green, Marline Blue, Shiraz, Code Red and White Pointer.

CX04-Cocksox

The CX04 Drawstring Swim Brief is available in Gunmetal Grey, White Pointer, Marline Blue and Code Red

CX22N-Cocksox

The CX22N Swim thong is now available in Code Red, White Pointer and Marline Blue.

I really like these updated colors. My favorite of course is the green but I think the Shiraz is a great color for swim that we haven’t seen too often. But really any color would be amazing to wear on the beach or pool. You can find these at the Cocksox website.

LR_SRFaBx_ScentVintage_red_01

Are you a fan of the retro styled swimwear? But you want to have it in an updated form? Wait no more the new aussieBum Scent Vintage is for you. They have the awesome printed fabric in new updated styles. So you can still look great but have some flashback flair!

“For an everyday short with real aussieBum attitude. Featuring pockets with mesh so they’re perfect for every occasion, in the water and out. Does not include internal lining.” The lack of lining would make this a great cover up on the way to the beach with a swim brief under it! Or, maybe you just hate having a lining and just want to change free!

I really love this line. I am a big fan of the retro print! It’s just fun. Although I my not wear it out and def would use it over a swim brief. Why not look great walking to and from the beach? Not everyone is keen on walking through the streets in just a swim brief. Sometimes you need a cover up!

The Scent is available in Red (above) and blue (blow) and is available for $32 on the aussieBum site!

Unknown-95I posted on Facebook earlier this month and asked guys what they wanted to try. One of the answers came from Andy who said he was going to try more Asian brands. So I asked which brands he wanted to try, he said Matewas one of them. Mate is a brand I have seen around the net but never really looked at before. If you’re not familar with Asian brands they typically are very skimpy and small. Which is not a bad thing at all in underwear.

When I say skimpy they are lower cut on the body and don’t rise up as high as some American and European underwear. The sizing is very small, certain brands I have known a 34 to be an XL. So that is something you want to pay attention to when buying underwear in general but more so in international purchases. Mate is a brand where 32-34 is XL and 34-36 is XXL.

Mate was founded by Hyun Han in Korea. He spent a few years at a Korean Fashion house then left there and went to Tokyo to lead a women’s lingerie line. During his time there he would stay late and work on designs for himself. He learned to adapt his designs to fit men comfortably and to adapt the sensuousness and sexuality for men. So he took what he learned designing for women and made amazing men’s underwear. What I love best is how they put it on their site “Designed specially for men who know what they want and are unafraid of taking their sex appeal to the next level”

The collections are super sexy. We here in the States can have a very Victorian/Purtanical view and stick to trunks and briefs. Not so with Mate. They have underwear, swimwear, loungewear and sportswear. On top of that they make limited edition items only available for a few weeks, as they say to make them truly limited!

Mate Scandalous Micro BikiniI can’t profile everything so I”m going to pick out a few pieces that I think are awesome. Before I do that there are quite a few pairs of underwear with openings in the pouch. The first piece you see is the Scandalous Mini Bikini. You maybe asking how Mini is it? Well you haven’t seen anything. Not only does it have an opening in the pouch the back is about half the size of normal backs. Meaning it doesn’t give you full coverage. The one pictured is OH HYEON (ROYAL YELLOW ZIG-ZAG).

Mate Sexy Sporty JockJocks are alway welcome and expected in men’s underwear. Mate makes the Ultra Low Rise Sexy Sporty Jocks. Remember when I mentioned its a lower rise, this is the perfect example of that, its cut very different than underwear most of us are used too. They say this is the sexiest jock on the market and I will say it’s pretty darn sexy. Made of a leather like material. They say on the site it shows off the butt by lifting it up! This is the HYEON JOONG (BROWN LEATHER)

mate nano bikiniOne thing I really love about Korean/Japanese underwear companies is their use of colors, patterns (some not considered masculine by the western standards) and the way they put the underwear together. They are more geometric (for a lack of better word). Its different and super fun. By the way I’m not making a value judgement on the undies just saying what we in the west consider “masculine”. I think they are awesome and different. A pair that I thinks shows how different they are is the Nano Bikini. It has a solid color and mesh color panels that really accent the pouch and butt. They really thought about it and love the design. I’m only jealous I can’t wear them! One thing I forgot is the construction is different as well and I think it’s so cool how they sew it together. This is the JONG KWAN (GREEN COTTON)

Mate Mini BikiniNext up is swimwear. This pair really sums up swimwear the Mini Bikini. I have seen pictures of guys in Japan in really small swimwear and wondered if it was smaller on purpose or did they just get the wrong size. This pair shows it’s the first. The back isn’t full cut there is just a hint of cleavage in the back at the top. Some will like and others won’t! The Mini Bikini is SUPER small but super fun. I love the pouch design and the piping, its amazing and fun. This is the SEONG HYO (YELLOW)

Mate Nano Bikini swimI could go on about this line but this is the last pair we will feature will be the Nano Bikini. Similar to the one mentioned above but this one is swimwear. This pair shows what I was talking about above. The colors are not considered masculine by western standards. The pastels are not something you see in swimwear here. I think it’s super hot and different. Next is the design and it speaks to the geometric design. It’s just different but so cool! The pouch they make really accents it but doesn’t physically enhance it. I think this is an amazing pair of swim. This is the AN YEONG (WHITE)

I really love Mate. I wished I could wear the undies and swimwear but I’m way too big right now and not sure I’ll ever be down close to a 34 again. When I was younger a friend gave me one of his swim briefs he got in Japan and I loved wearing it. I out grew it and gave it to a friend to wear. You know I’m kicking myself I gave it away but I think it’s good to give it to someone who can wear it and not have it site in a drawer.

I hope you check this brand out. They do have free shipping on international orders over $55. But note this will be coming from 0ver seas and will take 6-8 business days to get to you. Go to the Mate site and check out all the designs. They have 4 pages of underwear, 3 pages of swim and I didn’t even get to the lounge or active wear sections.

10888885_961657873861795_6234621851141662482_nThere is a new brand that has blown up on Instagram and that brand is Charlie by Matthew Zink. I have seen it all over the social media. They show amazing pics they take and of their customers in their swimwear. The first thing is that this is a luxury swimwear brand, meaning you won’t find this at your local department store or much priced under $100. That being said its an amazing line for men, and yes he had women’s  wear too!

The brand is the brain child of Matthew Zink who was the Design Director of Victoria’s Secret Swimwear. He created this line for men and women who want a elite swimwear experience. He has said the line is a to the decadence of the late 70’s and early 80’s. But swimwear is not all they sell, Charlie released a line of men’s underwear as well. Like the swimwear its luxury priced at $38 a pair. But in the world of underwear it’s not super expensive.

This year they have released the 2015 collection. They state it this way on the site “The 2015 Collection is #FOREVERCHARLIE.  Rooted in simplicity and Charlie’s signature timeless aesthetic, Charliefans can look forward to one of the brand’s most iconic collections including to date.  The pallette is filled with trademark color saturation, sensual metallics, strong black and white, scarves, zags, and even some new animal prints.”

Unknown-104

I will say probably my favorite thing on the site is the Noir Collection. It’s a line of basic, yet classic, black swimwear. It ranges from a string bikini (as they call it a sport brief) to swim shorts. Over the last year the length of men’s swimwear is coming higher up the leg. Gone are the days of over the knee shorts. Charlie is being a leader in this trend having all shorter length shorts in this line.

Unknown-103

The underwear line is very classic. There are not bright colors or prints like the swimwear. If he’s drawing on the late 70’s and early 80’s I think it shows up in this line. The two different collections are the Charlie and Grecian line. Both have similar cuts but the Grecian has an Grecian inspired waistband. I reminds me of the tighty whites of the era. There are just two colors, black and white and three styles sport brief, classic brief and trunk.

Unknown-101

Lastly is the swimwear collection called Resort 2015 on their site. They use very fun colors. The colors aren’t super bright and garish. But they fit very well in with the line. Matthew used some really great prints and stripes in the swimwear. Prints are one of my favorite things right now and I love the ones they picked out to use this year. Swimwear should make a statement about you and not something you pick up off the rack. Just like your clothes you wear daily your swimwear should reflect more of your personality. If you wear Charlie you won’t have to worry about not showing your style! The swimwear comes in a Foil Brief (smaller Bikini), Lifeguard Brief (medium sized), Square Cut Brief (fuller cut), Trainer (with split site), Vintage Soccer Short (traditional swim short) and Resort Short (button on the front).

If you’re in the market for something different and high quality then you need to check out Charlie by Matthew Zink. You can find them at the Charlie Site and be warned the swimwear ranges from $120-295 and the underwear is $38 for each pair. Make sure you follow them on all their social media accounts they share a lot of amazing fan photos!

LR_SRFaB13008_Beebee_Tropic_01

Not everyone wants to or can wear a swim brief. So for those instances you need some traditional swimwear. aussieBum has always made awesome swimwear and these trunks are super fun. They have a great tropical print that will make you stand out on the beach for the right reasons.

“Our ‘BeeBee’ above the knee boardies are made from lightweight stretch fabric with a silicon grip texture on the inside to stop them riding up while you are out in the surf. Note: BeeBee feature one back pocket as shown in the product images. No internal mesh lining.”

IS_SRF13008_Spot02_140527165533They have 9 different designs for the line. Many are the tropical prints in the collection but my favorite is the Dots. This us a super fun pair that I wouldn’t expect in a line of tropical swimwear but it really works. I love that it’s different sized dots in the fabric. The blue waistband is just sets it off very nice.

The styles are made out of a 95% Polyester 5% Spandex blend with no liner. They retail for around $52 on the aussieBum site.

It’s time to look back on the year and evaluate it, or so they tell me. This past year UNB had been a roller coaster ride. I won’t go into behind the scenes details but I think 2014 was a year we needed. It is going to make 2015 more focused and some new things coming. But more about that in 2015!

I would say one of my favorite things we did last year was the UNB Swim Guide. This shoot went amazing and it was a fun day. I loved the final product and think we had the right models. Everyone had fun that day and it was nice and relaxing for me. Only on thing went wrong, the SD Card for my camera was the wrong speed for video. Who knew that you needed a certain class.

I am very thankful for all you guys who read and I have gotten to know. I have made some great friends through UNB and want to make even more. We have a lot planned for 2015 so stay tuned for all the great things we’ll do!

cx02-bling-1

Did you miss this pair the first go round? Well the CX02 in Gold. This is a pair that would be perfect for Christmas! Either for yourself or your favorite guy. This is swimwear and not underwear. Granted you could wear it as underwear! But could you imagine wearing this on the beach? First the Cocksox pouch will definitely get attention, but add the gold color and BAM you are instant center of attention.

This will be good news to some of our readers. Because I have seen some selfies on Twitter/Instagram and know some of you want to show it off and be seen showing it off! So if you want this pair ACT FAST, it’s $42 on the Cocksox site, which is the only place you will find it!
