Over the course of UNB, I have met so many amazing guys. It ranges from gay, straight, young, old, bodybuilder to bears. One thing that has bonded us is our love of wearing what we want and not letting it define who we are. So what a big straight, married bodybuilder loves thongs. Or a twink that is younger and loves the fit of trunks. It doesn’t matter because underwear can’t be gay or straight.
I guess I have been in this bubble for a while, so it caught me off guard when something happened yesterday. On the UNB Store account, I posted about the PPU jock garter, and somehow, it got picked up in non-underwear Twitter. I started to get tons of notifications and thought, “oh wow, people love this pair.” At first, I wanted to go all off on some of these people. I took it as a personal attack on my store and me. I took a breath and realized that just going on some of the immature comments would do anyone any good. I decided to join some of the conversations and sent tweets saying positive things, and guys love something other than boxers.
I guess I thought we were getting to a new place where outdated tropes were being left behind. Being surrounded by like-minded guys insulated me from this way of thinking. What surprised me most is some of these people making comments posted about racial equality, pro-covid protection, and more left-leaning politics. So this came to me as odd that they pic this to comment on. Is it me, or is it some veiled homophobia in these people? One comment is who would buy this for their Man and who would wear it. This was from a woman. I replied to her that many guys would wear it and love it.
After a few hours, the tweets calmed down. But I’m still like, WTF. It just shows me that we still have a long way to go as far as we have come. If you are a guy who has to deal with this daily, reach out to me or any of our guys on social media. We will always talk undies.
The UNB awards are in full swing, have you been voting every day (other than the day we had the server move)? We will be extending the voting by a day for those who had issues. So we will go through Monday and announce the winners on Wednesday.

Could the server move happen at a worse time? Right in the middle of the voting for the UNB Awards. But it was one thing that couldn’t be helped. The site was getting very unstable and was causing issues for you guys and big ones on the back end. Sometimes it wouldn’t load for me or it would cause issues. Now we are hopefully by the time you read this all uploaded and ready to go! When I am writing it we are only 25% restored (we have over 14K posts and 50K pictures. Moving this site is no easy feat but I did it!

The server move left me with no sleep and some issues. I’m worn out. Although, I had to venture on to the old Blogger site that UNB Started on (I discovered our real anniversary is Sept 30th not Oct 6th, DOH but we will keep it Oct because that is when we bought the domain.) Its a world apart from what we are now, looking back is amazing to see how far we have come! This is a set of pictures featuring Joe Snyder. I remember when I got these it doesn’t seem like it was in 2009! Enjoy this real TBT from 2009.
If you tried to read the blog over the last day there may have been times that the site was up and other times when it was down. The important part of the server move has happened. I have had to do some on the fly trouble shooting. The site went to “Hello Welcome to my blog” at 8 PM to being up around 4 AM. But sometime in there I had an issue and had to trouble shoot it when I got up.
Now the fun starts to upload all the previous pics. The bulk of the files needing transferred. This means if you look at older stuff, pre 2021, the pictures may not be there yet. They are being uploaded and it’s just taking time. So bare with me, after it’s moved we should see improved performance and a new theme!
Also, our podcast will be delayed I haven’t had a chance to edit, but we will have a show this week and the group show will be out next week!

You may notice some changes happening to UNB. We have a semi-new theme and will be refining it over the next week or so. But, we will be moving servers in the next few days. This may cause some interruptions for the blog and podcast.
It’s a long story, server problems, theme problems, it’s the perfect storm that hopefully will be better once it’s all done! We have had the current theme for about 8 years or so (I can’t recall when we updated it), and it’s time for something new.
