Have you guys seen http://www.men-underwear.co? They recently did a shoot with some really great brands. The pair above is from Petit-Q. We hear they have some new pairs in the works so we can’t wait to see what they have in store!
Underwear for the well-endowed guy is one of the biggest, pardon the pun, request we get here at UNB. Speaking from experience it’s hard to find great underwear with enough room in the pouch. There is nothing worse then undies that don’t fit either in the pouch or seat!
BodyAware is tackling this problem. They have created the Well-Endowed Brief. It’s based on their Italian Shaper Brief, but they added an extra roomy pouch. Their site says “made for the extremely well-endowed men who wants to show it off.
The brief is made out of 90%Polyamide 10%Elastane material that is slightly transparent, so you will be showing off more then just a bulge under pants. They have created incredibly stretchy structured pouch that should be able to give you great support without binding or feeling constricted. Also the pair is just three colors, white, navy and turquoise.
Sizing is a bonus in this pair. This is one of the few brands that make an XS and XXL. This means you can go from 27 inch waist to 43. So no matter your size you can wear this pair.

Our Underwear of the Week this week is one that made people take notice. That pair is the 2(X)ist Sliq Mesh Trunk. It’s not often we hear of a pair released and everyone is talking about it. But the Sliq line did that and I had friends who aren’t into underwear talking about the line.
You maybe asking why is this? I think this was a few reasons:

Secondly we believe that our industry has used the “sex sells” philosophy to the extreme that we feel that our customer base would appreciate a more appropriate viewpoint. This is actually the closest to my heart because we make amazing clothing, that’s what sells our brand not sex. Our Customers purchase on merit and not because we convinced them to buy into a fictional story. This decision has kept us very small; but the best part about being small is that we have one on one relationships with all of our clients, and bar none the best customers and the best services to offer them. This is what brings us joy each day. We are not after your money we are after your happiness and comfort. When I started the brand it was because clothing did not fit properly. Clothing these days are are made for 1 customer and the sizes are small but there is more than 1 demographic in this world and those men are who we cater too.
In the upcoming months you will see a very New Mckillop. We are focusing on our Bespoke clients which allows customization to your fit and shape. We will also be expanding into XS and XXL and custom lengths for our Long Underwear and Sleepwear. We will also be introducing a new level of luxury that is absent in the Underwear/Menswear world today. We are very proud to have stayed so true to our beliefs over the years and we are equally proud of our clients and friends that have been on this journey with us. I was 11 or 12 years old when I began to take an interest in men’s underwear. And let’s be honest, for me it was just as much about the men wearing them as it was the underwear itself. Underwear felt like a safe way for me to explore something I wasn’t quite sure of yet.
One particular memory sticks out in my mind though. While being dragged along with my mother on a “quick” stop to the nearest department store, I was able to slip away to the men’s section. I don’t think I need to tell you where I immediately wandered over to. In the midst of tall shelves filled with glossy boxes covered in underwear clad muscle men, I was overwhelmed by the discovery that there were more choices than just boxers or briefs. Sure I’d heard reference to a thong before but I had assumed they were just for women. But right there in front of me was a perfectly normal looking man wearing a light–blue cotton Hanes thong. It was at that moment I realized I knew very little about the span of male sexuality. I couldn’t help myself. I needed to know what it felt like to wear something like that. I knew it would make me feel much more than the basic annoyance of having fabric stuck in my butt cheeks. Men could be sexy, I had proof right here. I certainly couldn’t ask my mother to buy them though. In desperation I did what any 11–year–old boy would have done. I stole them.
I’ve since started paying for my underwear, but my interest in them has only grown over the years. For me, underwear is so tied to my emotional and sexual self that I could make a journal that merely showed which pair I wore each day and still be able to go back in time as if I had written pages of description. That very idea sparked a broader goal to share my passion (and partly justify the extreme expense of my addiction) by starting Underwear Obsession. The goal of Underwear Obsession is to show what a normal looking chap (that’s me) really looks like in the latest styles and trends of men’s underwear. The photos are accompanied by a fun mix of underwear stories, reviews, tips, sales, and even some news. In just the same way I found that light–blue thong to be so astonishing when I was 11, I’ve found that the community of fellow underwear lovers is larger and more vibrant than I could have imagined. My only problem now is figuring out where to store all this underwear. It would be weird to have a dresser filled just with underwear, right?

“LETS SEE REAL GUYS IN UNDERWEAR” is something we hear all the time on the blog. This was even written up in a recent New York Times Article called “Changes in the Marketing of men’s underwear” (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/23/fashion/changes-in-the-marketing-of-mens-underwear.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0) They explain how guys don’t want to see models with 3% body fat and washboard stomachs, and how companies are turning to more realistic models.
This is something we have been doing for a few years. Since the advent of our guides we shoot, we have purposefully chosen models that looked a little more realistic to our readers. Yes, we have gotten negative feed back from brands and also readers. Some of the readers have been the harshest. Comments on facebook range from the polite “not my type” to not so polite “Ugly models”, “Why did you choose fat guys” and “I don’t want to see more of them”
Granted beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not every model will be for everyone. But to say guys who have a 32 waist are fat? That I don’t understand. I would say the average guy is anywhere from 32-36 waist. Our models have all been around a 32 waist. Most of them have other jobs and doing this for fun. We even recruited one of our waiters one day. I want use to continue this trend in our guides, and it has been suggested that we include a staff member in the guide, by one of our guys, who said he would be willing to do it.
We also have started to include our reviewers in review posts. Speaking for someone who’s underwear picture has been over the net, it’s a little nerve racking. I posted a selfie in a review a few months back and was super nervous. Why? Because I didn’t want to hear the “You’re fat”, “Why are you wearing that” and even worse things going through my mind. The internet can be a very cruel place when people speak from anonymity. But comments aside it take a brave person to strip down to their undies and post a pic for thousands of people to see. It’s not like sharing it with friends via a text. You are literally exposing yourself to all!
In order for us to continue showing real guys in underwear we really need your support. You are now asking, how can we do that? Comment on posts and guides we produce that have more real guys in them. Give words of encouragement. This goes not just for out blog but all bloggers out there doing this, remember it takes guts to put it all out there. There are not many United States made, American designers that do what we are doing and we are proud that our underwear both accentuates the male form, and will be consistently ultra comfortable; a very important aspect that is often overlooked in underwear design by other companies. I think to many designers have focused on extremely broad lines of products that may look “cute” but don’t really fit. Those briefs and boxer briefs and jocks and thongs end up sitting in the bottom of the drawer, and that is not where we plan for our BOISKIN™ undies and swimwear to spend most of their time!
Of course aesthetics are important and, as designers, we believe a great pair of underwear definitely stands out, perhaps often in subtle ways, while still offering options to customers. BOIKIN™ will begin be releasing our Razor Brief, in multiple colors, utilizing premium materials, and in a design that most importantly fits incredibly well. When we design, we start with fit then work on aesthetics. Creating with passion makes for great underwear and, as my husband and I design our products, we put a great deal of effort into ensuring that what we create isn’t just something attractive to look at. If we don’t want to wear our products all day everyday, then chances are our customers won’t either.
Lastly, my husband and I, take a holistic approach to creating our swimwear and underwear, and are always willing to take feedback on how we can make products even better. Listening to our customers and fans has definitely helped us create the best products, as we launched our first swimwear line earlier this year, which is available at BSBodywear.com, and will be launching underwear in the coming weeks. We feel that the clothing we wear, whether a three-piece suit to the office, a brief to the gym or a swim trunk to the beach, says something about how we feel about ourselves.
