I’m reaching out for help, which I rarely do. My iPad, which I use for creating art, is over six years old. Because of its limitations, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to draw or create in the past six months.
I initially thought, “I’ll take a break from art to focus on the podcast,” but creating art relaxes me and helps relieve my stress. I also want to improve my skills, particularly in physical art forms like painting and drawing, which I haven’t explored much.
Recently, with the madness of our current administration, I felt the urge to draw and create something fun. Unfortunately, my iPad could only handle a few layers in Procreate, the app I use for drawing, and it became extremely slow. Opening some older artwork took up to five minutes, leading me to give up in frustration.
So, I’m curious if any of you who enjoy my art and engage with my work would consider helping to fund a new iPad. The new entry-level iPad is priced at just $349, and while I’d love to get an iPad Air, it’s significantly more expensive. I can manage with the entry-level model, as I did for over six years. Plus, everything I own now works seamlessly with this iPad. I don’t need to get a new pencil.
I’m not asking for an iPad Pro—just something that will allow me to create more art for all of you. There are two ways you can contribute. First, you can purchase an Apple gift card at https://www.apple.com/shop/gift-cards. That email is unbblog (at) outlook dot com. Alternatively, you can send money through PayPal. I won’t post my email here, but feel free to contact me, and I’ll happily provide you with the details.
You might wonder why I can’t use the Patreon funds for the iPad. The truth is, the podcast is only just above break-even. The costs for hosting, equipment, domains, and other expenses consume almost all the income we receive from Patreon each month.
Thank you for listening and for any support you can provide!
