Hey everyone, I have a brief update on why things might be a bit slower for the next week or so. I made a foolish mistake and spilled water all over my computer. Initially, I thought it would be okay, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. I’m currently facing issues that make my computer unusable. As a result, I’m forced to rely solely on my phone for everything. While this is technically possible, it’s creating a new learning curve for me to get into my routine. Fortunately, I can access all my tasks on my phone.

Podcasts:

There’s some good news and bad news here. On the positive side, I can still record and edit podcasts. However, many of the functions available in Riverside are currently unavailable in the app. Consequently, I won’t be able to create audio stories or edit them on the app. Fortunately, there’s another podcasting editor called Ferrite that I can use. I started editing a show last night, but since I’m new to it, it’s taken me some time to learn and use it effectively. On the bright side, I can now edit podcasts on the go and from anywhere. Another advantage is that I can still record shows using my phone as usual. Thanks to upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro, I’ve made the best investment of my money and am fully enjoying it. Lastly, I have a great FTP program to upload the files.

Blog:

The blog will continue as usual. While it may be challenging for me to establish a new workflow, I’m confident that I’ll be able to get into a groove. I’ve previously run the blog on my phone, and although it’s different, it’s not overwhelming. I’ll be doing a lot of text-to-speech editing.

UNB Store:

This one is still a bit of a mystery to me. I’m trying to figure out a better way to manage it. It’s not too difficult, but it’s causing a significant disruption to my workflow. So, if you order, hopefully, you won’t encounter any issues with service. I’ll make it work.

What’s replacing the computer?

Well, this is a great question. Fortunately, I have AppleCare on my computer, but it’s a $300 fee to fix for accidental damage, which I don’t have currently. Secondly, I applied for a loan to get a new computer and iPad, and I’m waiting for that to be approved. If this option goes through, it will allow me to get back to setting up and other things I love. I’ll definitely get my computer fixed as well so that I won’t have these issues in the future.

If anyone wants to donate to the fund, please reach out. Yesterday, I was in a bad funk, and I know how I am. I overreact and then go into planning mode. If I don’t get the funding, I’ll have to wait a month or so to get the money to fix the computer. I’m heading to the Apple Store tomorrow to see my options and go from there.

Even if you can’t donate, please reach out and just see how I’m doing. I would appreciate it so much. Thanks, guys!
