I had several discussions at Project/Magic about how popular thongs have become in the last year. 2017 was the year of the thong, without a doubt. Look at UNB, we have over half of our guys who love the design and wear them as much as possible.

One idea I had was to run more thong content. The best thing would be a thong review every Thursday. But this got me thinking that it would be costly as well. We used to get all our undies given to us by brands but in the last few years, we have started to buy more of what we review.

Here are the results of the survey:

95% of the guys who answered are a fan of thongs. This survey was open to all readers who liked or didn’t like Thongs

An overwhelming percentage, 93% want to see more thong content. I was expecting a high number but not this high.

An even larger amount want to see a thong review every Thursday.

We then asked who would support us in creating this content. It’s not surprising that only 38% of people wanted to support us financially

Mos guys would donate $1 but the $6-10 was a surprise. I was expecting the two low-end options to have the highest votes.

Currently we pull in 99% of our income via advertising. Anytime you click an ad and buy something you are supporting us! The other 1% is from Patreon. We have a great group of guys who have supported us for a while. This income supports the site with hosting for the year, subscriptions for services and some travel expenses (Las Vegas & Bham).

If we did do a thong review a week (including video reviews), the chart below is the rough break down for the year.

It would be about $1,300 for a thong a week. Yes, we may get some donated for review. And we want to let you guys pick some as well. So that could increase the costs.

Here are the ideas I have come up with:

  • Amount to make happen – To make this happen we need to raise $108 a month to cover these costs.
  • Perks for members – Above a certain donation level, they would vote on one thong a month to review. It would be nominated and voted on by Patreons
  • Swimwear Vs Underwear – how many pairs of swim vs underwear would you want to see? (this would be limited by the reviewer and time of year.

I”d love to get some feedback on those who would support it. Email us at info@underwearnewsbriefs.com

We are in the need of a web server guy! Preferably one who loves underwear! Our current IT guy doesn’t know a lot about servers and it’s done by the seat of his pants. (That guy is me!) We don’t have many issues but occasionally we do and it can be a simple fix or something more complex.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • A guy to review error logs monthly
  • Make suggestions to improve server
  • Make a plant to optimize server for performance
  • Help when issues arise

We don’t have too many issues lately. But having someone on staff would be great. Fill out the form and let’s talk. We can talk compensation and free undies!

French label L’Homme Invisible has just released a new video featuring the latest and upcoming lines of its Winter 2018 collection. Together with the video, the Paris based label, released two campaigns for the exquisite Manta and Imperial lines of supreme quality underwear and t-shirts.

The Imperial line comprises men’s underwear in four styles (V-Boxers, Push Up Hipsters, Push Up Trunks and V-Strings) and tees. All the styles are trademark cuts of the luxury label made from a fine, Italian fabric featuring baroque patterns in velvet. The Imperial line is available in seductive black and ottanio, a superb dark blue-green tone.

The Manta line comprises men’s underwear in four styles (V-boxers, Push Up Hipsters, Push Up Trunks and String Striptease) and a T-shirt. The items of this line are made from a fine quality, Italian fabric with a burnt out treatment, offering a floral pattern and a semi transparent effect. Available in a ruby red combined with black detailing.

Both lines are handcrafted and have very discreet or no branding at all, in order to let the styles and unique fabrics speak for themselves.

There are often flurries of interest in new colours, new collections or new styles of men’s underwear and swimwear selected by Deadgoodundies.com. But even DGU was taken by surprise when its pictures of men’s one-piece body designs created a positive avalanche of attention on Pinterest (interestingly mostly from America!). Something very special happens when a man slips into a second skin all-in-one. The finer the fabric, the more he reveals beneath a sensual shadow of colour. A vest top is the ultimate torso enhancer, while a t-shirt topped cotton ‘onesie’ has a more earthy appeal. Any seamless top-and-bottom combo creates the smoothest base for any clothes. Every man should try one…

HOM’s anniversary special all-in-one underwear for men has a unique difference – the brand’s famous, patented HO1 horizontal opening. So no worries about easy access when nature calls.

HOM INSIDER SHORT JUMPSUIT £48.00

Smooth as skin itself. Olaf Benz have had bodies in their men’s fashion collection for years, so they’re pretty good at getting them right! This sporty underwear option comes in black or white, but also two true colours – a brilliant blue and green.

OLAF BENZ RED 0965 SPORT BODY

Admirable in so many ways – vest front, racer back, smooth across the back and bum, shapely where it matters at the front, and neat shorts onto the thigh. And a brilliant sandy interpretation of current fashion favourite camo.

MODUS VIVENDI DESERT SINGLET £47.00

A true male leotard with proper poppers at the gusset for easy access and exit! For men who love the look and feel of lace, this is the one.

MANSTORE M705 V-NECK BODY £135.00

Going out on the prowl? Add a touch of leopard print with this one piece – gently enhancing front, higher cut across the butt and sultry, slinky fabric.

MANSTORE M665 CHEEKY BODY £62.00

Take the one-piece look to a whole new level in this magnificent bodysuit. Expresses a different character in each colour – top to toe black, olive or tabasco. Super hero material for sure.

MANSTORE M510 ATHLETIC SUIT £80.00

Here is the thong poll result. You guys really love thongs! I can tell anytime we run a thong poll they always have higher response rate. This was just like the others! Let’s go over the results

94% of you guys are a fan of thongs. I know this number is skewed by the guys who answered. It’s no surprise. We do, however, have a large number of you guys who love thongs.

87% of you guys want to see more thong content on UNB. Which is a good thing because we have quite a few thong fans on staff.  They will gladly review more and do more thong centric posts. Now, we don’t want to turn the site into Thong News Briefs but we think 2 posts a week on thongs is not overdoing it. One being a review and the other being a write-up or Brief distraction.

98% of you guys would love to see a thong review every Thursday. This means this is something you guys really want who love thongs. Now that we have video reviewers, we could do thong reviews. Seeing a video of the thong is a great thing. The ones we have had are awesome. Martin and Andrew are amazing guys.

This one didn’t surprise me. I was a little letdown but not surprised. Almost 40% would support us through a crwodfunding site such as Patreon. If we do a thong post every Thursday and the thong price averages $20 that would be for the year, review pairs would cost $1,040 a year. Not to mention other pairs we are currently buying. After costs of the site (hosting, domain, email and etc), we would need help to accomplish this goal. Plus we would reward those who support us as well!

I am reevaluating our levels on Patreon due to this info and will be releasing new reward levels and posting. Any reward levels you guys want to see let me know!

We are almost done with the 2018 Reader Awards, but two more categories to profile are best Jock and Jock Brief. Jocks really never go out of fashion. They keep changing and evolving. One prime example of evolving is the Jock Brief. The mix of a brief and a jock, has taken many forms over the years. Make sure you go vote on our UNB 2018 Readers Award Ballot.

We get to talk to two thong experts. We talk about gay vs. straight, swim thongs, thongs at the gym and more. These two guys love their thongs and not ashamed to wear them in public or playing tennis.

There are some audio issues. The recording Softwear changed somethings since I last used it and it will be fixed by our next episode. I apologize for that. You get UNB on the left side and the guests on the right side.

New brands come around every year. Some have an innovative new take on underwear. While others may focus on classics. Either way, we love to share new brands when we find them. here are a few of the new brands from last year we think definitely made a statement. Vote on our UNB 2018 Readers Award Ballot.

Best New Brand

The show is over and it was a good day for UNB at the show. I was accompanied by The Thonged Ginger. We met with Tulio, Skull & Bones, UnderJeans, Ginch Gonch, Cocksox, 2EROs, Olaf Benz, Man Store, Gregg Homme, and Freedom Reigns, now known as FR. It was a full day! I say that because I only now get one day at the show rather than the entire week

We had an issue with registration for the first time ever. We went to the Press registration and was told we didn’t have access to the Project Show. Being calm I was like “WHAT?” I register about a month out of the show and get a confirmation. They were about to send us to another area when they contacted the PR person and found out we were good to be press.

Here are some of the highlights. I won’t go into a lot of detail because when new lines are coming out we will write them up.

  • 2EROS turns 10 this year! They will be revisiting some classic 2EROS from the first year and release some amazing prints in swimwear (not like that’s a surprise)
  • Tulio is sending us some lace, Tulio is known for doing some great stuff in swim and underwear but he’s sending us lace to review. One of his biggest sellers currently
  • SKull & Bones really impressed me with their gear. The prints are just amazing. Just wait to you see whats coming up next for them. Super fun and it’s for the print lover
  • Olaf Benz and Manstore – These now have a US distributor! This was one of the most exciting things of the entire show. SO many guys love both brands but having to order from overseas makes it difficult to get. Not anymore. We will be informing you where and how you can get both of these
  • UnderJeans continue to make amazing swimwear. Which will come soon and super fun work out wear? Just in case you forgot they have rebranded from Junk UnderJeans
  • Ginch Gonch, you thought they were gone, didn’t you? They have something very classic coming up. It caught my eye in their booth.
  • Cocksox has a new Italian mesh line that is out now. I saw the email go out on Thursday. More on that next week. They have some amazing new colors in swimwear! I think you guys are going to go crazy for the mesh.
  • FR (Freedom Reigns) is all about workout wear and swimwear. They have some underwear but shifted the focus for the brand. The new gear looks amazing. Also, I have one hint of something in the line. Flamingos. That’s all I’m saying.
  • Wood Underwear – They have new prints coming out and later this year a color you don’t see a lot of in men’s underwear. Which I personally loved.
  • Gregg Homme lastly is the brand I needed to catch up with. They continue to amaze me and create super fun underwear. I got to see the new line, the first time in two years. They do amazing undies.

Some Show takeaways

  • The attendance on the last day seemed to be down. I’m not sure if this was just what was happening or me missing the other days.
  • Fewer brands go every year. There were the brands above. I remember where there were 27+ brands. Many are seeing it more advantageous to do everything online.
  • Placement of the brands varies. Last show they had a great location and this time they were back in the corner again.

I love Vegas and the shows. No telling what the future will hold.

It’s time to Vote for your favorite swimwear. Each year we see more and more brands making amazing swimwear. This year was no different. We hope you guys took out Swim Brief or Swim Thong challenge. It seems more are taking the swim thong! Either way, it’s great guys are wearing some awesome swimwear. Make sure you VOTE on our UNB 2018 Reader Awards ballot.

Best Swimwear

Fetishwear is going mainstream! We have some amazing fetish brands that we cover. We hope you have taken the chance to check them out and wear their gear. Also, A new category this year is Spandex. It’s growing in singlets and runners. I would have done a singlet category but the last time I tried that we didn’t have enough to fill it. Now we have a good mix of gear. Make sure you go vote at our UNB 2018 Reader Awards Ballot.

As you have noticed this week, the guys are writing about confidence and underwear. The reason I did this post topic this week is everyone has a different story. Confidence comes in many ways. Through good and bad experiences. I”m not going to write a history on how it gives me confidence. I feel I have done that many times here. You can go back and read some archived posts on that.

I want to talk about current confidence. As I am right now I’m not happy where I am physical. I think I’m the biggest I have ever been in my life. There are many factors that have lead to where I am. Which I am dealing with and getting to the point where I want to make changes. It’s a lifestyle change that I need to make. I made it before and got depressed and it all went to hell. A lot of things are changing for the better and I’m starting to focus on health.

Right now underwear makes me feel great because I can fit in it and feel great. Being a bigger size right now there are a ton of undies out there that don’t fit me. Pairs I currently own and certain brands don’t go above 36-inch waist. When I slide on a pair of Cocksox, Ergowear, or Obviously. I get that great pouch and I feel like I did when I was a 31 waist when I was 19 or 20. It reinforces I can still feel good at any size. I think all guys should feel this way. Not just the small and mediums out there.

It also serves as a way for me to get motivated to get back in shape. I see pairs in my drawer and want to wear them. I know the only way to do that is to make those changes. After I start my journey back, It will be a regular feature here. I think we all need motivation and someone in your corner to cheer you on. I hope I can inspire other guys as well. I’m not going to go from out of shape to a bodybuilder. But rather a good weight and healthy.

This is my story. If it resonates and you feel the same reach out!

Where would the world of underwear/swimwear be without models? They give us something to aspire too when we have seen the pics. They sometimes are the reason we buy the pair. We want to look that damn good in the undies. Here are the guys we think look amazing in underwear. To vote go to our UNB 2018 Reader Awards Ballot.
