Singlets are my favorite type of spandex gear. If you’re a long time reader of the blog this is no shocking development. Over the past few years more and more companies are making them. The majority of singlets are erotic over sporting. Which is fine by me! One new entry into the world of singlets is Viced Man.

The AMA Viced Man Singlet is their awesome new singlet. From the front, the singlet looks very much like a collegiate singlet. The legs go down to about the knee and it’s a fuller cut singlet. When I first saw it I was like “cool someone is making more sports singlets.’ Then I saw the back and well this isn’t one you will see on the wrestling mat anytime soon. The back is where the innovation of this pair comes in to play.

The back has a cut out that I wasn’t expecting. On top of that in the back, there is a zipper that runs all the way down the back. It exposes your junk in the trunk. Their site says “Adding more spice to seduction, there is a zipper that comes down from waist all the way down that when you zip down you reveal your buttocks and you can imagine what happens after that.”

The singlet comes in 3 colors. They are white, black and red. I do not know how see-through the white is when worn. If like many other white spandex gear, its very see-through when wet.

This is a new take on an old classic design. I think Viced Man made something super fun in the world of gear. Victor who runs Viced Man has a great eye for design. I hope we get to see a lot more of his gear soon. This singlet retails for $48.00

The year of 2017 was a good year for UNB. It wasn’t amazingly awesome or super bad. It was pretty much on course. I decided to do a look back this year just to see what we accomplished to help us in 2018 make it an awesome year. Since it is our 10th Anniversary.

Video Reviewer

Since Alex left we have been trying to find a replacement. And we seem to have found 2 really great ones. Martin and Andrew have stepped up to the plate and really are enjoying doing the reviews. We got started a bit late in the year but in 2018 you will see a lot more of them. Unlike regular reviews, video reviews take a lot more time but our goal is 1-2 times a month (hopefully more!) We have our videos divided up on our YouTube Channel and Vimeo. Some are not appropriate for YouTube’s community standards. Those videos in 2018 will have a trailer on YouTube with a link to the Vimeo version.

Underwear Reviews

We had 39 reviews last year. When averaged out it was close to every week. To me, it never seems like we have enough reviews on the site. I looked at 39 and said, is that all there is? We have a plan get some amazing pairs this coming year so stay tuned. Hopefully, we may get over 52 so that’s one a week on average!

Top Pics on Instagram

(Top Row_As you saw earlier today the Floss picture from Modus Vivendi was our most popular picture last year. Followed by the Glamourous Line from MV. The next two are from our UNB Holiday guide. The first is the actual picture from Taylor Campbel. The second (on the second row) is a BTS I took during shooting as a teaser. In the Middle are the Garcon Model boys, a real-life couple that GM is using in their social! Next to them is Todd Sanfield in his own jock. (bottom row) Is the new Maskulo Neon line. Next to it is a Throwback Thursday featuring N2N when I saw them in Vegas! Lastly is a picture featuring our UNB Holiday Guide from 2016. Follow UNB on Instagram for more pics

UNB Popular Content

Without a doubt when I check our analytics our most popular content is our Endowed Guys series. Content that is many years old still ranks high! We will be adding more content to the site regarding this in 2018. It still amazes me that this series has become one of the most popular things on the site. I know that endowed guys have trouble finding undies but didn’t realize we would have such steady traffic from it.

UNB Swimwear Guide

The Swimwear Guide was shot in May. It was shot at the Castle in Birmingham. A site we have used a few times. Jonathan is always a gracious host. He has a great pool and it allowed us to do some awesome pictures. It was shot by Taylor Campbell. The models were Chandler, Martin, and Nate. Nate was a new addition to us. We loved working with him and hope to do it again very soon.

UNB Holiday Guide

The Holiday Guide was shot in December in Birmingham at a hotel. Which if you go back to our 2012 Valentines Guide you will see it in there for a brief part. It was a smaller shoot but turned out amazing. It was photographed by Taylor Campbell. Models were our video reviewers Martin and Andrew and introducing Jacob.

What’s coming in 2018?

Honestly, right now I don’t know. It’s just hit me this month that next year is 10 years in the underwear world for UNB. We have to do something amazing in October. I’m working on the 2018 plan right now and hopefully, you guys will be happy!

The Scrimmage line from C-IN2 has been re-envisioned with NEON colors. The. Scrimmage collection has always been one that I thought has been one of the most creative of C-IN2. It is inspired by American football practice jersey. Therefore, it’s made for activities and working out!

The new Neon colors are a great evolution of the design. Made in 5 different styles and two of them are shirts. The brief is my favorite cut because of the cutouts and the construction of the design. It’s pretty darn sexy to me as well. If you are a fan of sports gear fabric, definitely check it out.

It’s cold and a chance of snow this time of year. So, what makes us want to post about swimwear? It’s because Aronik has released their new Ensign collection! I have seen it on Tumblr and a few other social media outlets but It wasn’t listed on their site. Then this past week I saw it had been released! Well, it’s more of an unveiling than a release. The new collection is available or Pre-order!

The new collection continues on in the tradition that Aronik has set. There are some great solids and stripes (The ones pictured above I call stripes as well even though they are color blocked.) The Aronik guys have an eye or design that makes their suits just pop. When on Instagram or Facebook, I can always tell when it’s theirs, even before seeing any branding.

There is something I like about this collection that I couldn’t put my finger on at first. After thinking about it, I realized it’s they are evolving and taking the swimwear to the next level. Concentrating on things they do right. Those things are the mix of colors. The gray, white and orange are such a great combo. You can’t see in this picture but the gray is a print. Top that with some amazing styles it’s a winning combination.

There are three different prints that could be considered over the top for the brand. Those are the Bomb range. Each is a bright fun color with a very small pint of popsicles, drinks, or a crab. The back is a big Aronik name with a beach print. Super fun. It s unexpected but still super fun.

One last thing is if you are looking for a solid bikini, this is a brand that hasn’t forgotten about you. Their bikini cut is pretty awesome. Make sure you go check out the new Ensign collection!

Before the Holidays we asked you if you ever gave underwear as gifts and would you shop at a men’s underwear store. We have the results and wanted to share them with you:

You guys def want to shop at a men’s underwear store.

The majority of you guys want to travel 25 miles or less to shop at a men’s underwear store

Most of you have shopped at a men’s Underwear store already. Which is higher than I thought it would be!

Much like the results above 25 miles appears to be the sweet spot for distance to an underwear store.

Most guys want the option of shopping online and also at a store.

Some of the Favorite stores you guys shop are:

  • underU4men in Portland OR
  • Andrew Christian, and some smaller ones in SF, San Diego
  • Toolbox in Indianapolis while there for other events.
  • Skivvies (Dallas), Tapelenders (Dallas), Universal Gear (Houston & DC), and 2 stores in Ft. Lauderdale/Wilton Manners in Florida.
  • Andrew Christian Flagship & Factory Stores. WeHo Block Party, When living in Northern California there were a few mens underwear stores in the Castro, but they seemed to close before I moved back to Los Angeles
  • Egoist Underwear and Cram in Chicago
  • BoyNextDoor in Atlanta
  • Mojoman, Orlando; Pride Factory, Ft Lauderdale; several others in Ft Lauderdale; one in Miami I don’t remember the name

Why do guys shop at Underwear stores?

  • I had a long layover in Portland and was downtown killing time when I happened upon the store, so I went in and shopped
  • Same day availability
  • It was nice to feel the fabrics and see the options
  • Variety. I love trying new things, and going to a dedicated men’s store exposes you to brands you might not know about
  • I like to be able to feel the fabrics if possible — Just a material description doesn’t tell the whole story. Also, when I shop in person, I am more likely to buy stuff — when I shop on line, I frequently decide its too expensive when its time to put in my credit card.

Why don’t you shop at underwear stores;

  • None close to me. Would take over an hour to travel to nearest one
  • Awkward, not sure about trying on things
  • It’s fun to go to underwear stores in a town where no one knows you. You don’t have to worry about being seen by your neighbor while shopping for thongs and jockstraps
  • I prefer places with a good selection of brands, and the closest men’s underwear stores to me are brand specific (Andrew Christian) — and even if I like the brand, I like to mix it up a bit
  • Their selection isn’t what I’m into. Lack of thong styles

If you missed the survey share with us your reasons why or why you don’t shop at underwear stores.

We have profiled a lot of thongs on Thong Thursday. Some have been wild while others have been mild. The one we are profiling today is more on the classic side. The Ergowear X3D thong. It’s a basic thong design with an amazing pouch. The X3D is one of my favorite pouches that Ergowear makes.

My personal favorites from Ergowear are the bikinis. That was the first stile that I ever loved from them. After falling in love with the X3D pouch I wanted to branch out and try a few new things. The thongs are some of my favorites. I don’t wear them weekly but only for special occasions.

This thong would be a great starter thong for any guy out there looking to try a thong. It’s super comfortable and gives amazing support. The basic design will give you a good feel for thongs. As I mentioned above these are great to have in a drawer when the thong mood hits you. Like such as a date night or a Thong Thursday.

If you are like me you’re on the constant lookout for bikinis. Which, luckily, the style is becoming easier and easier to find. More brands are starting to produce the style. One of those brands is Candyman. They have always had smaller cuts like bikinis and thongs. And sometimes even more briefer cuts! The first collection of Candyman for 2018 is out!

There are a few really great styles but there are six new bikinis that I think need special attention! Looking at the style you can see it’s a low cut, no-fly, smaller waistband and fullback. Our friend Bikinisnthongs I think would approve of us calling these bikinis. If you have been a long time reader of UNB, you know that Candyman is all about fun. These are no regular bikinis they have some great prints!

The Candyman Frosting Bikini – has a floral print. It made me do a double take to see if it was swimwear. From what I gather it’s underwear. The print is awesome and fun. The blue background makes this my favorite of the six. Underwear should be fun and this would make me happy to wear!

Candyman Cheetah Bikini – If you are a fan of animal prints you ay love the cheetah bikini. This has a solid black front with a cheetah face on the back. It’s kind of a surprise! But still is a lot of fun.

Candyman Pineapple Bikini – If the Frosting Bikini is a little much but you love floral prints. The Pineapple Bikini could be a big hit for you. It’s a pineapple print on a solid black background.

Candyman Hands Bikini – This is the most fun pair of the new collection. The hand’s bikini is a black bikini with two handprints on the back. It’s like someone had paint on their hands and grabbed your butt. I could see me wearing this on a date night and asking, hey did you put your hands there!

Candyman Lion Bikini – Just like the Cheetah bikini this is a black front with a lion face on the back! It’s definitely not your regular bikini print.

Candyman Kitty Bikini – Lastly is the Kitty Bikini. If you are a cat fan you can have underwear with a cat face on the back. Not a big game cat but a regular cat!

If you love these and want to see more Candyman go to Candyman Fashions.

There is a saying we posted on Facebook and Twitter. “When you stop believing in Santa Claus you get underwear.” I have a feeling that, like myself, we have a lot of believers of Santa reading this. I did not get any underwear under the tree this year. But I do plan on getting me a few pairs to ring in the new year. If you are in the same boat I have some ways to brighten your underwear drawer.

Just buy what you want at any price.

If you have a stressful holiday season or year. Splurge and buy yourself that brand or pair you have had your eye on. Do something awesome for yourself. Now don’t go out and buy every pair and spend all your money. But, if you can afford a pair or two just do it! It’s something we all need to do from time to time, reward ourselves.

Scan the sales and buy!

If you are on a more limited budget, scan the sales and strategically buy the pairs you wanted! A lot of brands are going to have year-end specials. You can score some big deals and get more for your buck. Instead of buying one pair you may be able to get 2-3 pairs or more!

Get the super deal!

Clearance is your friend. If you’re not picky about wearing last years or seasons collection. This is the perfect way to score some awesome undies and swimwear. This past year I scored Merman Tailor swim briefs for $5 each. I also bought CARIOCA wear for $14.99 when the regular price was around $80. While at Skivvies in Dallas I bought Mundo Unico Brief and ErgoWear bikini! While the price may be right, finding your size can be an issue. If you are a medium or a large, it’s harder to find than a small or X-Large. However, for those who are willing to hunt, the reward may pay off! Also, check out sites like Cheapundies.com!

Have fun shopping and get some undies for yourself, you deserve it!

Not all the companies we cover are all about underwear and swimwear. 2EROS is releasing the new Bondi Short. This line will be out the first part of January! Here is a quick overview from 2EROS:

The S60 Bondi short is tailored to the Bondi lifestyle. Cool off and take a dip in the crystal blue waters of Bondi and sun bake on the fine white sands. Afterwards put on a buttoned shirt and stroll over to one of the many bars surrounding. Bondi shorts are also great for the gym, be the coolest kid doing your squats. Don’t worry about tearing it, it is designed to stretch.

Go look at 2EROS in the new year for these shorts.

PetitQ is a brand that is not sitting still this year. This is their 8th collection they have released this year. That is almost a new collection every month. Which is A LOT! When the PetitQ boys released their line I hoped it wouldn’t be an over the top collection that ended. And it wasn’t. They have been going strong for a few years and I think we will see a lot more of their undies!

The brand has really grown. They have kept the super sexy cuts, see-through materials, and barely there designs. These things have become one of their signatures. Over the years they have used many different fabrics that you don’t think “men’s underwear.” I think the rules of men’s underwear have been broken! Brands like PetitQ are writing new ones where masculinity is defined by the wearer, not the materials. A perfect example of this is a guy can rock a pair of lace briefs and still feel masculine and like a guy.

This new collection has a theme of cutouts. The PetitQ boys you can tell have fun creating these collections. If you follow them on social media, you will see they wear their own undies. Also, in this collection are super skimpy cuts! Which I think is a staple of the brand. Here is an overview of the new pairs!

PQ171005 – KINI VISCONTI PETITQ LEOPARD

If you’re like me, the top goal of 2018 is to get into better shape. Notice I didn’t say resolution. It has to be a lifestyle change, not something you do every January. Working out requires work out wear. Sure you can wear something off the rack from a big box store or sporting goods store, but you should look good as well!

SupaWear is releasing the Apex line on January 2! Just in time for the new year and the new you! This is what SupaWear says about the Apex line:

Reach your peak performance with Apex. This collection features a form fitting style combined with Supawear’s innovative panelled designs, which focus on form and structure. Apex is designed to work and flow with your body to enhance your assets.

This collection features shorts, joggers and a hoodie. All featuring breathable fabric for comfort, a form and streamlined fit to enhance your silhouette and a side bonded zip to keep all your valuables (iPhone 8+) safe and secure while your in motion.

If you are looking for new gym gear check it out at the first of the year!
