We asked you guys about classic underwear. About 5 days after we had six guys answer. I figured this may be one of those polls few guys had interest in. I check it when creating the jock poll and noticed over 60 guys have answered. Enough to share with you guys. Here are the results of the poll. And what you guys had to say for and against wearing classic underwear

First we asked, should guys have classic underwear.

Then we asked what styles guy should have:
Lastly, what classic colors guys should own
Readers for  guys wearing classic underwear:
  • it’s good to have a conservative alternative
  • Tighty whiteys are a classic staple in a man’s underwear wardrobe.
  • For those times when fuller coverage is needed
  • For when you feel more conservative. Some days I want to feel subdued
  • It’s much more manly
  • Suitable for all occasions, shapes and sizes.
  • Visit the Doctor (only time!)
  • If a guy usually wears non-classic underwear, I don’t see a reason for them to own or wear classic pairs.
  • Always nice to have a few pairs of classics for the gym or work.
  • Functional. There are days when it’s just what you need.
  • They are hot
  • I guess it all depends on your age and body form. Personally I feel the classic styles are more comfortable for those of us who are a little overweight. I am not an exhibitionist and if I bend down it doesn’t bother me if someone see a Calvin or Emporeo waist band
  • You just need classics around to remind you of the old times
  • I think a good classic pair sets a tone to your day if you have something more reserved/conservative in your schedule. I also think it resets your brain a bit so when you wear your more daring underwear it’s more special.
  • I think that almost ally styles of underwear have their place and occasional function. Like a boy scout, you should be prepared.
  • Because it makes a man very sexy too
  • There are times when you just need to step into something simple! Only classic underwear often has a pouch problem (as in not having a good pouch, period).

Those who don’t think so:

  • I don’t see the need unless the guy wants them for some reason. Wear what style you want all the time. Don’t change it up for certain situations.
  • It´s so boring
  • I don’t really see the point for classic underwear unless that’s what you’re into which is absolutely fine. If you like bikinis or thongs they can be your classic go to underwear if you like them. I think that’s also how you can change skimpier styles as becoming more accepted
  • So uncomfortable
  • There are so many better options out there really nowadays…comfort, style, individual expression, pattern, color, proper pouches (how we ever lived without them before is a mystery), variety…

All you Cellblock 13 fans pay attention, not only do we have a sale on all our Cellblock 13 gear, but for the next few days (ends Tuesday), we’re also giving away free Cellblock 13 Gear Bags to everyone who spends $50 or more on Cellblock 13 gear. As a bonus, you’ll also end up with free USA shipping or discounted world shipping with that deal (more on that below). Hint: just pick up any of the CB13 harnesses or fetish shorts and you’ll have already earned your gear bag. Throw a few Sonic or Xtreme Hybrid jocks into your shopping cart and you’ll also be the proud new owner of a CB13 bag.

The gear bags are pretty awesome, they’re made with a lightweight nylon with multiple pockets, designed to be worn like a backpack. The main pocket is for all your gear and the smaller, easy-access outside pocket holds your wallet, money, party essentials or even condoms. With a big Cellblock 13 logo front and center so everyone knows what you’re into. You can see detailed photos of the bag by clicking the promo graphic on the Cellblock 13 page at Jockstrap Central.

Of course the obvious use for the gear bag is simply somewhere to put your workout gear on the way to the gym, but it’s also the perfect place to store your clothes if you’re going to a naked party, nude beach or naked bicycle charity ride and it’s time to strip off.

Currently, we have all sorts of hot Cellblock 13 gear. By far the down and dirtiest is the Xtreme Hybrid collection of jockstraps, jock briefs, fetish shorts and matching harnesses. Dirty because EVERY piece has a built in but removable Perfect Fit silicone cock ring. If that weren’t enough, the pouch of the jock, jock brief and short can snap off, perfect when you want to show off that engorged dick of yours. The harness can either clip on to the other Hybrid gear, or you can simply clip it on to the belt loops of your favorite pair of jeans. Xtreme Hybrid comes In all your favorite fetish colors.

Slick and sexy, look no further than Cellblock 13 Sonic Neoprene Gear. These jocks and matching harnesses are made with a stunning ribbed rubber in black with accents in either grey, white, red or blue. The jockstraps defy gravity, think jockstrap with leg straps but without a waistband. It’s held up by the matching Sonic harness. Even better is you can mix and match the Sonic and Hybrid collections.

Then there’s the jocks. We’ve got both the classic Bike #10 inspired Fullback Jockstraps in five solid colors with traditional info and logo label on the outside, exactly where it’s supposed to be. We’ve also got the modern take on a swimmer jockstrap and a unique jock brief, called the Ward Jock Collection – both designs with the comfiest and sexiest pouches around, made with a fabric that will caress your boys and make them sing.

If we happen to be out of your size in the Cellblock 13 gear you have your eye on, check back in a few hours. We’re expecting a large restock shipment from CB13 this afternoon.

Not all underwear companies are centered around the US. There are some awesome underwear companies the world over. One such company is Tynell Underwear. I saw them on Instagram and loved the prints they were doing. I discovered they are located in South Africa. We will have a more in-depth interview with them but I wanted to share this overview with you guys first!

Here is what they tell us about their brand:

The struggle has always been real to find underwear that still feels comfortable after a few hours of wear. In our quest to design underwear that deliver on quality as well as comfort, we arrived at our ethos; Fit. Feel. Freedom. Wear the Fit. Feel the quality. Experience the Freedom.

The TYNELL Signature Range comes in two styles – briefs and brief-trunks and we will soon be releasing our trunk style.

Our Limited Editions have exquisite prints that vary from pair to pair. No pair is the same. It is what makes them so special. We will only be releasing 300 Limited Edition pairs as part of our first range.

#DressToUndress

To celebrate the launch of TYNELL we collaborated with international film and commercial producer, Renier Ridgeway from Silverlining Pictures and one of South Africa’s most acclaimed music video directors, Kyle Lewis, to produce our first brand video.

Check it out here: https://tynell.clothing/product-video/

It’s an interesting time of the year in the men’s underwear market – the view from the UK is complex, but exciting. Never mind Brexit, there’s Black Friday, Christmas, early spring arrivals and a new brand debut (hint: more to follow) to juggle at Deadgoodundies.com. DGU ships worldwide so men’s preferences in different countries are followed closely. British men, though they keep VERY quiet about it, are still dedicated followers of fashion when it comes to choosing boxers and briefs, but also loungewear and more.

Just launched on Deadgoodundies is British Boxers men’s underwear. As the name implies this is a quintessentially Brit collection devoted to comfort and the understated style of the classic English gentlemen. Their original product, the trunk, comes in black, white and fashion colours.

BRITISH BOXERS TRUNK £18.00

Keep it under your hat, but DGU was instrumental in British Boxers adding men’s briefs to their offer. And jolly good they are too. Like the rest of the line, these midi slips use luxury cotton that retains its colour wash after wash.

BRITISH BOXERS BRIEF £12.00

All British Boxers products are designed in Britain and their attention to detail is remarkable. The stripes on their brushed cotton robe match perfectly at the seams and the fabric is treated with a unique process that gives it superb softness and warmth.

BRITISH BOXERS ROBE £89.00

A long term best seller with Deadgoodundies, it’s all change at Obviously for Men. The collection has been refined to focus on their upgraded EveryMan AnatoMax and PrimeMan AnatoMax lines – each offering a brief, trunk, 3-inch and 9-inch boxers – which are proving hugely popular with UK buyers.

OBVIOUSLY EVERYMAN ANATOMAX BRIEF £16.50

DGU still has supplies of several original Obviously ranges but these won’t be restocked, so choice is reducing by the day. Fans of the Classic and Comfort designs should get them while they can…

OBVIOUSLY EVERYMAN COMFORT BRIEF £11.25

High fashion men’s underwear – and leisurewear – from Greece, Modus Vivendi always provokes excitement with every new collection. Now they’ve launched their first triple packs, including the bestselling aerated cotton Low Cut brief in two colour combos. Result? Customers are happy, happy, happy.

MODUS VIVENDI LOW CUT BRIEF TRIPLE PACK £33.00

Everywhere you look these days, every company, brand and more seem to have their own underwear subscription service. Wait we are pleased to announce…. Not really! We aren’t planning a subscription service. The question is are they worth the money you pay? Will you get pairs that you will actually wear? If you’re paying $20+ a month you want something you will wear on a regular basis. We have a few words of advice when picking an underwear subscription service.

Go with a brand

If you love a brand and they have a service it is worth looking into. First, you know the brand and the quality. The designs, prints, and fabrics won’t come in and you go “what the hell is this?” It’s more likely the brand will send you similar to what you already love. Two brands doing subscriptions are MeUndies and Andrew Christian. MeUndies will send you an awesome print each month in the style you love. Thiers is pretty straightforward. The designs/style will not change. If you want to try some different things Andrew Christian can vary the line they send in a brief. You could get an Almost Naked, trophy boy or more. Pouches could have the Show-it Tech or they could be mesh. Andrew Christian has a lot of different things they could send a month.

Get something new with a retailer

If you love a style such a brief or jock. Sign up with a retailer doing a subscription. They will bring you a new brand every month. This can be good and bad. It can be good because it can expose you to a lot of brands you may not have worn before. You could find a new favorite. On the flip side, if you hate a brand you may get a pair in the subscription. It’s a gamble you will have to take! Most retailers will try to get the best value for the consumer. Always follow up with a brand if they send you something you love or hate. Feedback is always good.

Try something out of the box

Some subscriptions make you pick a style and stick with it. Others will send you anything from a boxer brief to a thong. If you want to expand your horizons why not let the luck of the draw dictate what you get. Or, if you love all kinds of undies, this is perfect for you. You will get sent, randomly, whatever pair they have that month in whatever style. It can be like Christmas and not knowing what you’re going to get till you open the package!

It’s about the money

The last thing to consider is the cost. They vary in costs. It’s smart to shop around and see who is offering the best deal. The cheapest isn’t the best if you’re paying $5 or more for shipping for each pair. Looking into shipping costs is a must. It will add to your subscriptions overall cost. Next, are you signing up for an ongoing monthly basis that you have to cancel or is it for a set

Next, are you signing up for an ongoing monthly basis that you have to cancel or is it for a set time? Double check before you order to see which you are getting. You may only want to try for 3 months but sign up for a year or more. If it is an ongoing subscription, is it easy to cancel your subscription?

If you want to reward yourself I think an underwear subscription is a great way to do it. Shop around and see what the costs are for each of the ones you are interested in purchasing. Most will have some of their past selections. It should give you an overall view of the service. After you deciede on your service determine how long you want the subscription. And then sit back and enjoy as undies show up at your door everymonth!

C-IN2 has a new line out called Oxide. Oxide is “Inspired by one-of-a-kind patterns found in nature, Oxide brings one more set of prints to C-IN2.” It’s the look of rust screen printed onto a fine rib fabric. It comes in some of the favorite C-IN2 styles. They are the Jock, No Show Profile Brief, Punt, and No Show Army Trunk.

The print is one that I really like. C-IN2 is no stranger to making abstract prints. It’s actually one of their strong suits. The rust inspired prints are really cool. They will be a topic of conversation on a date night or possibly the gym. The colors go pretty well with the theme. blue, orange and green. The print is done in a contrasting color that just makes it POP!

If you are a fan of C-IN2 don’t let these slip away. They will be limited quantity seasonal prints. If you snooze you will lose. Get your favorite color in your favorite style or styles. You can find them on the C-IN2 website or some of your favorite online retailers!

Remember the days growing up when you would get underwear as a present? If you were like me you would go WTF? I wanted games, toys or something, not underwear? Also, it was never anything good, it was a 3 or six pack of the big box stuff. Now that we want to get underwear as gifts, how many of us get what we want? We are going to explore a few scenarios for underwear giving in the holidays.

Partners – BF/GF, Wives or Husbands

If you are lucky enough to have a partner who supports your undies love, congrats. Consider yourself super lucky. So many guys, both gay and straight, have partners who just don’t get the underwear thing. We have readers who told us their partners buy them sexy undies and they love it. Opening the package and seeing some great new undies under the tree. This would be awesome.

Friends

This is more geared to the gay guys but If two straight guys loved undies I could see it happening. Unlike the partner, one above this is one I have participated in. Give a good friend, who you know is into undies, as presents. I tend to be open about my undies love and what I like. It’s easy to shop for someone who you talk to about undies. It’s good to set this up ahead of time. Me and my friend used to do this on a monthly basis. It started after a holiday exchange. It’s fun to get some pairs you may not have thought of before.

Buy Yourself Undies

This is what I usually do. I buy myself presents of undies around big occasions such as birthdays and holidays. There are two things to guarantee. Frist, you will get the correct size. Next, you will get exactly what you want. But this is not as much fun as the ones above. There is something awesome about a person putting in through to what undies they should give you. Either done for romantic reasons or to expose a friend to a new brand, style or etc.

Online Gift Exchange

This came to me when I was brainstorming this post. Create smaller groups of guys and do a small gift exchange. I was initially thinking about this for the guys at UNB. We are a small group of guys and would be interesting to see who gives what to who. This could be done online with guys who love undies. The only ground rules would be the undies must be new, with the tags still on. If you participate you must send out a pair. Lastly, be local or in the same country. When you get have to deal with international post and customs it can take forever for a pair to get to you.

These are a few scenarios for a gift exchange for underwear. I’m curious as to you guys thoughts.

Do you like super skimpy? Undies that cover what it needs too but still looks sexy? I know we have many guys who think skimpy is better. You love undies that give you great support but don’t get in the way. The new Italian Transparent Tactel Tanga is a pair that is all that above.

BodyAware has been a company that steps outside of the men’s underwear box and make something awesome. The new Tang is made out of an Italian Tactel fabric. BodyAware says this about the fabric: “This latest top quality European fabric supports with less bulk and superior softness. Up-to-the-minute technology combined with high Lycra content provides perfect breathability and freshness.” The fabric is slightly see-through, meaning it will show off the goods but not give it all away. To me making it a perfect date night or Valentine’s Day pair.

This pair is a Tanga. Which to most American’s is an “It’s a what?”  A Tanga to me and easiest to describe is more of a string bikini. It has a pouch in front, thin sides and almost a fullback. It gives you more freedom around the sides. This cut is perfect for an active guy at work or one that wants to feel sexy under his suit.

The colors are ones you don’t typically see in men’s underwear. BodyAware is not one afraid to venture into the feminine side of underwear. It’s actually one of their strengths. Colors are Black, Cerise (pinkish), Turquoise, Nude, and Purple. Each of these are more on the pastel side. Which are not colors we typically see in the world of men’s underwear. It really works thought. BodyAware is a company that has challenged what I thought was men’s underwear and made me think of new things.

If you love fun underwear give this a look! I don’t think you will be disappointed.

The Catalan designer Carmen Monforte presents a man who is very sure of himself, with a strong personality, but at the same time very sensitive, always letting himself be guided by an underlying sense of immortality and perpetuity.

Her proposal for this autumn/winter focuses on the presence of dark colors combined with metallic touches which, together with the variety of proportions and textures, make up a very contemporary and spontaneous collection, ideal for a daily look.

To achieve this, the collection plays with a rich variety of fabrics like modal or viscose, which combined with other organic fabrics, give rise to enormously soft and adaptable garments, almost creating a second skin.

A man with class is timeless. Find out more at ES Collection
