Brief Distraction featuring AAG Tyson Dayley

10917Tyson Dayley is not your average AAG model. Tyson did not gain his online stardom from posing for AAG, instead, he created his own “insta-fame”. Through Instagram and other Social media channels, Tyson has been able to gain a following on Instagram of over 100k followers. He started as your typical “frat boy who lifts” and has transformed into a fitness icon and personality. That kind of following on any social media platform is sure to come with a few opportunities. Tyson used his Social media network to move into other ventures, such as modeling. From his online stardom, Tyson has been able to pick up multiple sponsors, and has traveled the world, shooting with the biggest photographers around the globe! On top of being a fitness personality, Tyson is also a Certified Personal Trainer as well as a WBFF Pro bodybuilder. This guy has done amazing things with his life already at such a young age. We are excited too see him blow up over the next few years!

Our readers love fun underwear. What makes fun underwear for your brand?

I set up D&H because I wanted to create a Brand that showed real British character and our sense of humour. Initially we started with fun preppy prints in vibrant colours as a way to turn something as simple and every day into a talking point. Over time we have developed a more subtle approach including things like fun card inserts and cheeky messages on the underside of our garment labels. While we pride ourselves on the quality of clothing we make, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We have a great deal of fun designing each range and it’s important that this shows through to the customer in the final product.

Do you have a Philosophy about creating underwear? If so what is it?

Whenever you mention underpants to someone they smile/laugh. Our philosophy is based around this, we want to make great quality great fitting every ay essentials that make you smile when you put them on.

In one of your recent pairs/lines, what was the inspiration behind creating it? 

One of the first ranges we launched had preppy prints that were inspired by the prints you find on classic British made ties. Our own background is in British tailoring, so it was a way of having fun and demonstrating our heritage.

It took a few goes to get the colours right and our in-house design team took some very traditional prints and made them more modern without loosing the sense of tradition or fun.

If this is a pair you designed before the previous collection, how did it influence other pairs/lines going forward. If a new pair, is this pair/line going to influence more collections in the future.

We loved the fun preppy prints, but going forwards we are moving to a more simple colour pallet with key colours to create our new multi pack offering. Our details have become more subtle, but still demonstrate our sense of humor and the fun that we have designed the ranges.

Underwear Review – Cocksox CX21N Jockstrap

Pros: Great pouch, amazing fabric, great design 

Cons: May not be the best for sports, some may not like the leg straps

UNB Tim recommendation: A good jock for everyday wear. You could wear for sports but it’s more of a fashion jock. The pouch is amazing great for guys who need the extra room in the front. I liked the leg straps, they are smaller than traditional jocks. 

 

I have said it before but I love Cocksox. Their underwear just fits me like a glove and feels amazing. The pouch is very high on my favorites list. So, when I get a chance to review new Cocksox, I am so excited to do so. I have a Cocksox Jock in my collection. It has bee one of my favorite jocks to wear. When I got this new one I was excited.

I knew I needed to put this through a test. The other jock I have fits great and I know what it can handle. This one I wore to work and a day I had to move some stuff. While I was doing my work and errands, the pair really felt amazing. The pouch doesn’t fit as great as the CXO1. This is due to the design, the leg straps don’t provide the same stability as the brief. However, it still has a great pouch, you can’t go wrong with a Cocksox pouch.

Two things that they do well with are construction and fabric. Over the last 10 year’s they have perfected the formula for amazing fitting underwear in the most awesome fabric. They get two thumbs way up! As for sizing, as long as you follow the sizing guide there should be no issues. Their sizing has been pretty standard over the last several years.

All in all, this is a great jock. It’s a great design with smaller leg straps than other jocks. This is a bonus for me but many may not like them. I would suggest for every day wear over sports. However, you could easily wear it to the gym.

I HATE, intrusive ads and sponsored content that isn’t labeled as such. We just recently launched sponsored posts, but they do not affect our views and reviews. We still speak about what we love in the world of men’s underwear.

There are really three ways you can help. The first is the ongoing donations through the UNB Patreon. You can donate as little as $1 a month. Which may not seem like a great amount of money. However, if only 10% of our readers donated we would have a good amount to do some big things on the site. You also, get to join our Patreon Slack and talk to our editor and other Patreons. We have some great conversations. I also give out underwear from the UNB Closet from time to time.

In Gregg Homme

Drive Some Color in Your Life with Gregg Homme

In the new Gregg Homme collection, the new Drive collection is probably my favorite. I think it’s because the bright and fun colors they used. Plus, I think all the styles, including the jammer, are super sexy as well. But, that’s my opinion. You guys will have to judge for yourself.

Gregg Homme calls Drive a sporty collection. I agree with this statement. The fabric is an “perforated Italian technical fabric which is highly breathable.” The Jammer, Boxer, Jock and thong have a mix of solid and mesh fabric. The brief and string are made just of the mesh fabric. The only one that looks semi-see through is the pouch.

Several of the pairs have a “fly.” As you can see with the boxer above, it looks more traditional. However, I don’t believe that is a functional fly. Even the thong has this fly front. It’s definitely a cool design element that GH did in the collection.

The Jammer is a new style with Gregg Homme. The longer boxer brief is coming into fashion. I’m not a big fan of boxer briefs but I love the longer ones. The Drive Jammer looks very hot with the mesh down the leg. If you have great legs it will look even better!

Also included in this collection is a tank. Certain GH collections include matching shirts. This is one of those. Made out of the same fabric as the underwear. You can get it to match your undies or you can mix and match the colors.

There is one thing I love about underwear. It’s the ability to wear something fun. BodyAware is one of those companies that makes fun underwear. While, it may not be for everyone, it’s great to have options over the boring thighty whities. One of the newest lines for the Holidays is the Cuddle Up line. You may be asking what the heck is the cuddle up line?

The new line comprises men’s underwear in three distinctive styles as well as tank tops and t-shirts in three colours: blue, red and black. The underwear of this line comes in jockstraps, briefs and boxers all handcrafted from a high quality ribbed cotton based fabric. This is probably the most comfortable underwear you’ll ever wear! The fabric is extremely soft, the waistband is covered to avoid any discomfort and the pouch is contoured to offer space and support exactly where you need it. The tanktops and t-shirts feature broad elastic trims and curved hems. They are great for the gym but can also be worn as streetwear with your favourite jeans.

1431-playerWhen you think erotic underwear, Leather is a fabric that comes to mind. Gregg Homme also does leather underwear, but in only a way Gregg Homme can. So what does that mean? Take the finest leather and match it with the best mesh fabric and you have the new Play line.

The leather that Gregg Homme has been using is Italian lambskin stretch leather. This is super soft and feels great against the skin. I haven’t tried this yet but have felt it many times in Vegas. This is the perfect leather for some amazing underwear. If you have tried leather gear from others and felt it stiff and not really comfortable, try this line out. It may change your mind about underwear.

The Brief and Thong both have the leather pouch with the lace up front. They also have the mesh inserts. My favorite is the brief. I love how the leather is at the top and the bottom of the back is mesh. It’s sexy and fun. If you don’t want to brave the leather and just want the mesh. The string and tank are both made out of the mesh fabric. You can mix or match any of these in the collection as well.

There are only two colors in this collection. They are black and red. The color denotes the mesh color. The brief with the black leather and red mesh is super sexy and fun. Love how they placed the mesh inserts. I think many of you guys will too!

This is not an inexpensive line. Being leather it’s a higher price than most of the Gregg Homme line. This makes it great for the Holidays and potential gift for you or the guy in your life.

Kickstarter has been a great thing for men’s underwear. There are many companies that have gotten their start or increased production due to the crowdfunding site. No longer to people have to go pitch to investors, now they can reach their customers direct and get them to invest. Men’s underwear is not an easy market to get funding in.
