Blue Collar Underwear is not just underwear. We have reviewed the some of their underwear in the past and it’s pretty darn good. I loved the designs and fabrics they used and each one got really good ratings. But did you know they also do swimwear? The pair we chose to profile for you guys is the Presidential Swim.

From their website they say this: “Style and elegance arrives at the beach or pool party when you enter wearing the Patriot Presidential Swim Trunk. The trunk is made of a poly blend that comes in textural piquet for a classic and luxurious look. This lightweight swimsuit has a square-cut design, provides a snap front waistband and has the Blue Collar Collection logo emblazoned on the front.”

One reason i love this is Blue Collar has their own unique style. They have carried this over to their underwear. They remind me of Pistol Pete in that they found what works for them and they do their own thing. This pair just stuck out to me because of the stripes. I think the way it’s cut that it accents the pouch. Which, in my opinion, can be hard to do in a trunk. Its way easier to do a bikini/brief with a pattern to show it off. Second, its a pair that is just plain sexy. It doesn’t show of too much but isn’t a long board short.

It’s not swimwear season but I know many of you head to Miami, Mexico or cruises in the winter. So you want to get swimwear that not everyone is going to have. This isn’t the only pair Blue Collar has but I would say if you did wear them out very few other guys would have it. But I hope that changes and more of you guy discover this amazing brand. This pair retails for $45.50 on the Blue Collar Underwear website.

Go SoftwearIf you are like me you grew up watching super heroes. And you always wanted to be one and even put your underwear on the outside of your clothes. The new Milos trunk and bikini from Go Softwear gives me such a super hero vibe. I don’t know if this was intentional or not but I loved it the first time I saw it. I kept going through my mind which super hero you could create out of each of these suits.

This could be a great Halloween costume idea (if you can get them ASAP) if not this year for next. A little body paint and a mask and you have instant costume! But only for those who are bold enough to bare about all! If however you want to use this for the purpose they intended, its also amazing swimwear.

The few pairs of GoSoftwear I have had have been amazing. It holds up to wear and tear and always looks great. I Love the bright colors and belt of these, and not just for the reasons mentioned above. It’s just fun! More guys will wear super bright swimwear over underwear. But more on that later.

This line is available in a bikini and Square cut. Both are made out of 80% nylon and 20% spandex blend. The bikini retails for $38.50 and the Square cut is $42.00. If you can’t find this at a retailer near you, its always available on the Go Softwear Site!

10635971_678297568907889_2518958041849253856_nWhen Flash Avenue Studios sent over the pics posted earlier I had to see the company that made them. Yes I’m a bit of a geek, well I more of a big geek boy who stared and underwear blog. I have LOVED the Marvel movies, so to have comic inspired swimwear I was Thrilled. I have see one of the suits before in a photogs pic on Tumblr but didn’t know who made it, and now I do!

The one thing I love about underwear/swimwear is it brings guys together. Geeks, jocks, avg joes and beefy guys. We share the same love and its a bond we all have and Little Rok brings out the geek in all of us, which is a good thing. Little Rok is based out of Italy and they are inspired by their love of super heroes and body building. They aren’t just swimwear they have some really cool swim, tanks and t’s. By the way you can get at matching CAP shirt for your swimwear.

The three styles I am going to focus on are BOOM, STAR and CAP.

Swimwear_Little_Rok_7_905x534-905x534The Boom is just like in the comics with the call out bubble going BOOM! It is available in 5 different color combinations.

Swimwear_Little_Rok_3_905x534-905x534The Star is inspired by Captian America’s shield, or at least that’s my opinion. It is available in two different shades of blue.

Swimwear_Little_Rok_6_905x534-905x534Last is their CAP, which from their  site was one of their first designs. It’s their take on a super hero. Available in three different color combinations

I Love each of these designs. You can really see how they were inspired by the love of super heroes. When I first saw the pair I knew I had to find out who created it. It was sexy and fun to me. If i saw a guy wearing this on the beach, I would know he’s a guy about having fun and not taking things so seriously.

The cost on these are over 30 Euros. The exchange rate varies from day to day. So they won’t be cheap but they shouldn’t be super expensive either. To find them check out the Little Rok site and remember you can change the site to english (or other language) at the top of the page!

465cc18d-2dc2-4969-ad36-41eed49d4dc8Not everyone is going to wear swim briefs. This is a fact we know so we are bringing you guys some great swim shorts. SupaWear just released a new line called “Supa Swimshorts.” SupaWear is known of putting their spin on classic pairs of underwear and swimwear.

The design of the pair is pretty cool. You maybe looking and seeing a plain pair of swim shorts but you’re missing some features. The first is it made with a three color panel design, that is available in two colors. Next is has a mesh lining. This is good for some of you and not for others, because some of you like it and others cut it out right away. Next is an adjustable sizing with the side tabs. So you can get the right fit. Lastly it has three pockets that you can put just what you need in them.

The swimwear is made out of 100% polyester fabric. I will say that polyester in swimwear is one of the few times I like the fabric. In underwear it can drive me crazy, but it makes sense in swimwear. It allows it to dry fast and hold up over time.

If you’re interested in the swim shorts head to the SupaWear site. They retail for $66 AUD.

trunkbriefWildmanT just released their new collection. This collection has a lot of swimwear. So it made me think, which kind of suit would I want? A swim brief or trunk. When I was younger it was a no brainer, Swim brief all the way! I can recall several times when I was the only one wearing them at a beach or pool.

Now you get a little older and you ask, should you wear a swim brief or act your age? Some of you, this may not be an issue, but others out there know what I”m saying. Sometimes if you’re over 40, like I am, you don’t want to be that guy wearing something for a much younger guy and have others talking about you. But, I don’t think swim briefs are one of those items.

I have seen many guys in their 40’s and 50’s who still wear then and look amazing in them. I’m not talking muscle guys but some beefy guys too. Its more of your own comfort level as to what you will wear. I don’t think this is just for gay guys either. We have straight readers who wear them on the beach, which is AWESOME.

This past year I wore the N2N Stratum from last season. I loved the cut and the pouch of the Startum. It could be considered a bit too revealing at times. I only wore it to places where it would be either encouraged or accepted. So, in Atlanta, there were very few places. But it’s definitely on my list. But I’m thinking about getting a swim brief for next year.

As I get older I have gotten I have given up the idea of wearing a super skimpy bikini. My personal tastes have moved to the 3 inch swim briefs. The size that competition swimmers wear. I just thin it looks better on me. Heck, even back when I was 20 I love these cuts. To me the larger swim briefs were sexy, because you can show off but not show it all off. The downside of most competition swim brief is the lack of pouch.

I will be actively looking for a swim brief. I will keep you guys posted on which ones I like on Twitter (@unbtim) and asking your opinions.

I know we just left swim season but what kind of suits are you guys looking for? What is important to you? Let us know on here in a comment or Tweet us!

For those of us who enjoy swimming as part of our exercise regimens, we know that there’s a myriad choices out there for what to attire oneself in, both in terms of brands and cuts of the swimwear.

There are jammers (longer length trunks that go between mid-thigh and the knee), trunks (coverage down to the upper thigh, also called a square cut suit), briefs (shows the upper thigh), and briefer cut items (swim thongs). I’m wouldn’t even consider wearing board shorts or other loose items, because they’re pretty useless for lap swimming (and for that matter, getting a decent tan) and I’m not a frat boy in college. And unless you’re a competitive swimmer or swimming in icy cold water, there really isn’t a need for a full body suit. So the choices essentially boil down to how much coverage you’re comfortable with in terms of selecting a jammer, trunk, or swim brief.

For me, I’ve always worn a swim brief. When I was in high school, they were mandatory and ever since, I’ve never been able to reconcile the freedom of a briefer cut against any perceived need to be more modest. After all, if world champion swimmers can wear swim briefs, those of us who aspire to that level of aquatic proficiency should be able to as well.

But, If you’re looking for a swim brief and have never bought one before, you might want to take a few things into consideration before you whip out your credit card to make that initial purchase. First, try it on. You’ll want to get one that fits like a second skin (maybe consider going down a size than you typically wear) so that it doesn’t cause drag while you’re swimming. Another helpful tip is to find something that is chlorine resistant. Constant uses of your suit in a chemical environment (i.e., a pool full of chlorinated water) will eventual degrade the fabric of the suit (in the same vein, if you can, buy more than one suit and rotate them—they’ll last longer that way). Third, since you’re probably not going to be swimming in the Olympics and need your suit to be hydrodynamic, try to find a suit that has a little bit more room up front. Some of the suits that I’ve tried in my four years of avid swimming were really lacking in the pouch area, and were decidedly unfriendly to my boy zone.

I bet you’re asking what I would suggest. Well, I like Andrew Christian Team Bikini. It is on the brief side, but there’s full coverage in the rear. There’s also a little room up built up front so that I’m not mashing my own potatoes. I also

really like the design of the garment: contrast stitching and stripes on the side suggest athletics without committing you to turn in world record times in the pool. In fact, I enjoy them so much that I own multiple pairs in black, blue, and red.

So, if you’re looking to get into swimming for exercise and you’re looking for a brief to wear in the pool, I would highly recommend you try this brief.

wildmant-wt70Swimwear season in the US is over but that’s not stopping companies for making really great swimwear. WildmanT has always made great swimwear that enhances and shows off what you have! He has always used his C-Ring and lifters to really put your best features out there! This  is the Titan Bikini with C-Ring

You maybe going, “I love the suit but don’t want the c-ring.” In previous pairs WildmanT has made the C-rings removable, so you can wear them with or without them. So don’t let that one feature turn you off to the brand!

The bikini comes in three colors; blue, green and orange. Each one is trimmed in grey and has two white panels on the hip. Also made with a draw string waist so it will stay in place even during a super active day in the pool/beach. I really love these color combinations. Although, I have to say the green is my favorite. But, overall they are great color choices. You want your swimwear to be bright and fun. Lastly, it’s made out of a 84% nylon, 16% spandex fabric. Meaning this will be a fast drying fabric.

WildmanT says the following about the pair: “The WildmanT Titan Bikini with C-Ring is a low rise, lean cut swim brief teeming with color and spirit. But the real bonus here is the sexy silhouette it provides, thanks to the hidden cock ring inside that amps up the definition to your frontal profile. Wear for maximum whoa! poolside, beachside, or wherever you plan to take the plunge.”

This pair should be coming to retailers soon!

oscar6Alexander Cobb has released some new swimwear. You may know them from the undies we have profiled here but they have branched out. They say this about their brand, “Alexander COBB combines superior design sophistication and quality material into a natural second skin that gives you the freedom to be yourself. Release your inner mystique and explore your boundaries with Alexander COBB confidence”

Check out the undies and swim at the Alexander Cobb site!

tumblr_mt1mudmb7u1qgzh68o1_500Well maybe not but here in the States the Labor Day weekend typically ends the swimwear season for most of the country. Many of you will be going out of town for Provincetown, Key West, Haulover or more beaches. It makes me wonder if you took our Swim Brief Challenge or if you’re finally doing it.

Over the last year we challenged you to give a swim brief a try. I heard from many of you guys who have either already done it or were seriously considering it. This wasn’t for gay guy, many of the straight guys considered it as well! Which frankly shocked me! I knew there were straight guys who loved swim briefs but these were guys who never wore them before!

I would love for you to email us your experience over the last year if you did wear a swim brief for the first time on the beach/pool/lake this year. If so what was the reaction of your friends/family? Will you wear them again? Let us know!

tumblr_n1qikaaDSJ1r8qddoo1_500At some point in time, briefs went very out of style for a lot of men. I’ve heard arguments from every conceivable angle: looks, comfort, durability, others reception of them…for whatever reason, a vast majority of men (especially my straight counterparts) no longer consider them an option for day to day wear. In this installment of 12 Pairs Every Man Should Own, I’m calling for a return to briefs! These ain’t your Granddaddy’s tighty whities anymore.

I cannot say enough good things about the PUMP! Brand of underwear. Having, in my opinion, some of the best marketing of any underwear brand in the market, it should come as no surprise that I myself own many pairs. One of their classic pairs, their “Touchdown Panther Brief” has rapidly become one of my favorite pairs to wear and I can’t imagine it not being on this list.

Let’s talk basics. PUMP!’s commitment to a clean, athletic look means this pair reaches across the aisle for both gay and straight men alike. This look is backed up with high quality, breathable materials. The main structure of the pair is composed of durable, cool mesh: perfect for hanging around the house, getting down at the club or working out at the gym. The thick waistband means you’ll be offered full support in the cup all day long, and the high-quality piping around the legs prevents the pair from riding up your thigh making it perfect for athletic endeavors.

While PUMP! offers plenty of options in the classic “tighty whitey” color scheme, the Panther brief comes in a sleek black and blue design which, if you weren’t already convinced by the construction and the materials, further distances itself from the briefs of old. Add this pair to your collection this summer and let it be your first step back into the world of briefs.

Let me know what you think guys! @UNBPaul on twitter!
