If you listen to the Podcast, it’s no secret that UNB is 12 TODAY! I have only mentioned it 1,000 times! It’s one of those things I mention and go, “Oh no, don’t say it, shut up, oh, you said it.” But it’s been a wild ride over the 12 years.

I have suffered more burn out and inspiration than anything else I have done. But somehow, I get motivated and keep doing the blog. I have a lot of fun doing and in the last five years, have made some fantastic friends. I have pivoted the site and tried to make it more personal to know the guys who write on the blog and me.

THE FUTURE

So here are some things going forward in our next 12 years you can look forward too.

The Podcast you may think is a new addition to the site. We started it in 2009, and it ended in 2012 (February, I believe). It was always in my mind to start it back up. In 2018, I met Andy and Erik, two of my favorite people in the undies social media world, and we started doing semi-regular shows. But it wasn’t till early 2020 that we got the right mix in guys and a lot of inspiration that it has taken off. We talk about real topics, and it’s not just. Oh, that’s hot. We are being open and honest and let you guys listen in. We have added shows like the thong show, Brief Tale, and Barely Brief. I hope we keep it fresh and fun for you guys.

One thing I have missed a lot is out own shoots. We used to do them two times a year. In May for swimwear and November (and sometimes December) for Holidays. These ended in 2018, not because we didn’t love doing them, but we ran out of sponsors. I didn’t want that to stop me, and I tried to revive them in 2020. Well, you know how 2020 has gone, a giant train wreck. I’m hoping to do a swimwear shoot in 2021. My fingers are crossed. I want to do three shoots a year—Valentine, Swimwear, and Holiday. I’m debating doing a yearly work outshoot as well. These are my plans, and I hope to make it a reality next year.

Now I have to recruit a bunch of new guys to be our models. In the last few years, most of them have stopped doing modeling for underwear. This sucks cause we had some fantastic guys that were so easy to work with, but we will get more real guys and bigger guys for the shoots we do as well. So we are working on a lot behind the scenes; it just takes MONEY!!! $$$$

I’m pleased to announce we will have some new video reviewers. And that happened out of the blue! We have three guys that will be gracing your screens very soon with some fantastic undies. I’m happy we are getting back into videos and want to do some underwear related videos on top of these but again, COVID sucks. The video reviews have been popular, and I’m glad they are back!

THE PAST

This year I have been digging up old hard drives and sorting pictures (which I should have done back in the day) and remembering all the brands that I have worked with over the years. Some brands have gone out of business, sold to new owners, and some, and many of them are still going strong. Some brands, I miss them and wonder what happened to some of the owners. Those include DMK Designs, Skimpeez, Iqoniq, and Marc Ouest. These were brands that were prominent on the blog in the early years. Dianne, from DMK, was one of our first podcasts in 2009.

I also remember going to Vegas for Magic/Curve and having so much fun. Back in the day, they had 40 brands at each Show. It was two full days of meeting and greeting brands. We also did a meet and greeted the first night of Magic at the Luxor. It was time for people to be social. The meet and greet were open to all brands and buyers at the Show. Sometimes there were five people, and other times we have 25 or more. One of my best memories was one of the first ones in the Mandalay Bay, Andrew from N2N Bodywear came and talked and talked, and after midnight, we went to McDonald’s at the Luxor (because it was open 24 hours). This was also when I met Scott, formerly of the Clone Zone, in the UK, and we had too many adventures. After this night, Andrew has been one of my favorite people.

I don’t know if brands will return after COVID to Magic/Project. The last ill-fated trip I took was about six brands at the Show, so instead of 2 days of constant on the go, I went late and left early. Time will tell if brands return.

THE PRESENT

Right now, I’m sort of in a rebuilding mode. We have gone from 6-8 writers at a time to pretty much just me doing the blog. Over the years, UNB has been my main gig due to the economy, and other times it’s been supplemental. Right now is in between. I started the UNB Store because I saw the business model for UNB not going to be sustained much longer. The store has been open in the year it has grown, and I wish I would have done it many years before.

The Podcast has far exceeded what I thought it would do. The Podcast has always been fun for me, but It’s teaching me many new skills and has caused me to think outside of the box a lot of times. We have some fantastic shows, and the feedback we have gotten is excellent. You guys like what we are doing. So thank you all for giving us feedback.

Lastly, I want to thank all of you who have read and listened to us over the years. We have had some amazing guys write, do reviews (videos and written), models, and photogs. UNB is always in a state of change and if you would have told me in Oct 2008 that I would still be doing this and it would have evolved the way it has, I would have thought you were crazy. Thanks again, guys.

One thing we have done consistently in the last 12 years is to support the Baskit $12 Tuesday. Ironic it’s 12 years and $12 Tuesday! We love Baskit and have worked with them from the beginning of the blog (if not the beginning at the very early on in the blog).

In fact, it’s the Baskit Just /b/ brief that got removed from YouTube because it violated their TOS. But, you can see it on our Vimeo. Minus the 750,000 views it gained before being banned.

This week the pair on sale is the Bask Brief. Check out this amazing pair and remember it’s on sale for $12 today only.

If you are a long time fan of Garcon, formerly Garcon Model, they have released their very first thong! The thong is becoming more and more popular for all guys. It’s great to see Garcon release theirs!

The new thong comes in four different colors, Miramar (black), Ocean (pink), Lincoln (green), and Espanola (yellow). Each thong has a matching Garcon waistband except the pink which has a contrasting blue waistband.

One big bonus for this pair is it’s tagless! One of the biggest gripes that guys have for underwear is not an issue with this pair. Which is awesome and amazing!

Check out the new thongs at the Garcon site!

PAIR: Garcon Thong
COLORS: Miramar (black), Ocean (pink), Lincoln (green), and Espanola (yellow).
FABRIC: 82 % Nylon /18 % Elastane
SIZES: Small – X-Large
PRICE: $29.00

N2N Bodywear is back at it with a skimpy but fun new pair! N2N just released the new P-Town Bikini, which is one of the smallest and skimpiest bikinis I have seen from the brand and that’s saying something.

Here is what N2N says “Summer may be over but the lingering memories of P-Town will go on… This adorable nautical-themed LOW RISE bikini has just enough stretch to cover yer bits…front and back”.

Remember most things from N2N will sell out quick, I”m writing this on Sunday night and by the time it comes out Monday sizes could be gone so don’t delay if you want this pair:

PAIR: N2N Bodywear P-Town Bikini
COLORS: As Seen
FABRIC: 80% Polyester 20% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $24.00

I am trying out as many masks as I can for you guys. As we know this pandemic isn’t ending anytime soon and masks will be around for the foreseeable future. I will admit that there are some masks I like and others I hate. They do drive me crazy at times but, I have always worn them out and around others. I understand the importance of them and I’ve had one health scare this year and DON’T want another. I know many of you feel this way but we have to wear them to protect us and others. Ok, off my soapbox.

I received several masks from Andrew Christian. First, the masks are super fun and you will show your pride with them. There is even one with an LED letter board across it. Due to price, I didn’t request this one but I loved it. So much fun and think about what you can put on the scene, like “Wear your damn mask”!

I received 4 regular and one outdoor dining mask. The regular masks I wasn’t sure how they would fit, but once putting them on, I loved the fit. The material felt great against my face and color me impressed with them! Not only will you look awesome but you will be super comfy wearing them.

I know some of you don’t want to express yourself in every day with some of these masks but they are perfect for going out to a club (yes there are some open). Many in our gay community aren’t wearing masks when going out, any of the AC masks will be perfect for going out.

My personal favorite the Rainbow Unicorn mask! It’s just so much fun to me! It’s amazing and you get some looks while out, some times it’s a smile and other times they roll their eyes. But F* those people.

The last mask is outdoor dining. It has a hole for a straw. I wasn’t sure how this would work but it’s great for drinking outdoors. I would make sure you have another mask to put on after drinking. I mean there is a hole in the mask and not great for just walking around or non-drinking. As the picture says Safer outdoor dining.

Go to the Andrew Christian site for all the masks and they get new ones all the time!

If you have been waiting to listen to our podcast, there is no better time than now to do it! We have been podcasting like crazy! I don’t think there is any other podcast that talks as openly and honestly about topics in underwear, how we fell in love with undies, our love of thongs, and bigger guys in undies.

We have four different “shows” in our podcast:

  • The Main show – this is our round table discussion with up to six guys talking about things like double Standard in underwear, men’s lingerie, underwear shopping, and more. The panel includes gay, bi, and straight guys.
  • Brief Tale – This is our interview show where real guys come on and tell how they fell in love with underwear. It also has brands talking about how they got started and what they are doing and lastly underwear models and photographers.
  • Thong Show – Our three thongers, Andy, Erik, and Ryan, started this show and it’s all about the thong. They will be talking about issues and topics with wearing thongs. Such as where can you wear them, how they started wearing thongs, and more.
  • Barely Brief – A show for bigger guys. Speaking as one we face issues in underwear the regular guy doesn’t face. Like finding undies that fit, finding the style we love, and more. Myself and Stevie host this show and will be bringing on guests and having honest conversations.

If you love our podcasts think about supporting us on Patreon. We are trying to get our sound better and equipment to help us do this. We all love doing these shows and have had amazing feedback. If you can’t support our show, I know during a global pandemic, some guys are strapped and just getting by, tell an underwear friend, or share a post on social media to spread the word about us! That is just as helpful!

Interview with our model Josué Tarí Madariaga

In ancient Greece people believed that you have to care for the 3 most important self the Body, the Mind and the Soul. What are your daily habits to support and evolve yourself?

My daily habits are stay focused in my priorities (planning your schedule) and try getting better everyday under the key #strongerthanyesterday. I Don’t forget my dreams and goals and I train until they became real.

Do you believe people can change? Change their habits, physical appearance … what it takes?

All people can change! But all people aren’t willing to shift their habits. The difference between people that made it and the rest of people is will power. Most often the mistake is not the capability rather the attitude.

What’s your favorite person of all times? Why he/she inspires you?

I feel inspired by every person that show me the good side of each situation, and those who are able to find the opportunity in each challenge. Not necessarily great and known famed people if not real people, family, friends and job colleagues

Is family important to you? Do you spend time with them?

My family is my origin, my heritage, my daily force. Nowadays I live alone and unfortunately I am far away from them, but I think about them every moment, every day.

Any causes you support? How people can help others?

First helping oneself. If you don’t feel good with yourself it’s impossible help to others. If you improve your version, then maybe you can realize that everything we contribute to others, really we contribute to us. Self-discipline and empathy

Favorite movies, books or music?

I love good music, good book, and good movies. But not necessarily have to be the most famous. I prefer the little works, but with a great message than best sellers just because it’s trending topic. I love 40’s music, intrigue movies and self-actualization

What do you do to stay connected with others?

Oh! Everything that is in my hand! I connect with other people in the gym, on the street, just talking about them, say hello, listen to them and of course in the online world through the social media and video call apps like Instagram, Facebook, gmail, zoom, skype…

How covid19 did change you? daily life, life perspective, priorities …

This situation has changed my life completely. The most important has been bring me up to date and refresh my professional skills like a personal training. I have had to move my home, work hard against the clock to adapt all my business to the online world. But nonetheless I always try to see the opportunity to grow up instead of focus on the problems of the crisis. Solutions! And everything has solution except death

Interview with our model David Castilla

In ancient Greece people believed that you have to care for your Body, your Mind and your Soul. What are your daily habits to support and evolve yourself?

Our appearance is a reflection of how we feel inside. I love fitness, but I need to feel happiness and self-peace with myself a as long as I need my workouts .

Do you believe people can change? Change their habits, physical appearance … what it takes?

Yes, two words: Motivation and Constancy

What’s your favorite person of all times? Why he/she inspires you?

Gandhi, a true case of empathy

Any causes you support? How people can help others?

Treat people with kindness, like you would like them to treat you. A smile is always free.

Are you currently in a relationship? What do you value in a person?

Yes, I found a very special guy, he comes into my life as is like a ray of light for me ; has a good heart , a good sense of humor and physical connection .

Favorite movies, books or music?

I love the ‘50s

Favorite quote?

Life is too important to be taken seriously

What do you do to stay connected with others?

I was born in Valencia and live in Madrid; new social media is awesome to connect with my childhood friends

How covid19 did change you? Daily life, life perspective, priorities

This year is so bad for everyone, now I appreciate little things of my life.

RAW STUDIO PUSH UP JOCKS WITH C-RING AND STRAPLESS POUCHES ARE HERE

Canadian designer Raw Studio is back with a (not so) basic collection of ball lifting jockstraps and strapless pouches with styling that’s uncomplicated yet striking – and because it’s Raw Studio, there’s always a sexy secret weapon. Here’s the details:

Raw Studio Push Up Jockstrap: Looking for a pick me up? Then look no further. From the outside, this jockstrap is stunning in it’s simplicity, but what lies beneath is a built in elastic cockring that takes your boys, lifts them up and pushes them forward – ensuring a better bulge. The fabric is a luxuriously soft four-way stretch microfiber that molds to your package. With a narrow bit of piping edging the pouch for a better fit and structure.

The 1.5 inch wide waistband is a modern take on a traditional sports jock waistband with multiple horizontal racing stripes. But that’s where the comparison ends – this waistband is super relaxed, perfect for wearing for extended periods of time plus it’s crazy soft.

Finally, two three-quarter inch leg straps finish it all off while perfectly framing your butt.

Raw Studio Strapless Pouch: A simple yet ingenious design consisting of a waistband and suspended pouch and nothing else. Other sock style underwear, while definitely sexy, are normally not well designed – they tend to fall off with just a slight movement. Raw Studio, however, took this design challenge head on (pun intended) and came out on first. With a super contoured microfiber pouch and a short cut elastic, together they form a cup with a small opening to cradle your boys to perfection, the elastic sits high behind the balls. The best part is because there’s no straps pulling the pouch down, you’re able to hang naturally and free with an awesome bulge.

With a relax fit three-quarter inch elastic waistband to suspend the pouch.

———————————-

Both jockstrap and pouch come in black, white, red or grey. Be sure to check out our models Romeo Davis and Frankie in all the new Raw Studio gear over at our website.

Raw Studio jocks, pouches, harnesses and cockrings are unique, limited edition and all handcrafted in Toronto.
