Join the UNB Underwear Community – Focus Group

A few years ago I had a group of readers I could bounce ideas off of and brainstorm with on a regular basis. It was in Facebook and was quite fun. I would love to start this up again. I want to find guys of all ages who are a big fan of the blog to join a Slack workspace and have some great discussions.

Unlike last time I want to get more UNB guys involved and have bi, gay, and straight guys. I want to have real discussions about underwear and it results in some posts that make guys think, laugh and love underwear even more. So what are we looking for:

  1. Have a love of underwear and a desire to learn more about the industry and brands
  2. Love reading UNB
  3. Be willing to talk about underwear with other guys, share your likes, dislikes and what got you to love underwear
  4. Help us brainstorm new content ideas and give it the thumbs up or down.
  5. Have a positive attitude and make new friends!

Timoteo Releases the new Malibu Line

has released the new Malibu line. It’s a classic but sexy styled collection. I just love the look of it. Mix that with some amazing fabric and you have an amazing new line of underwear. Timoteo always makes some of the sexiest undies on the market. Here is the official description of the new line.

Photographer Interview – Up and coming Photog BlackRose Photography

I discovered Black Rose Photography on Instagram. I think he’s going to do some great things in photography. I wanted to interview him and share some of his work.

What got you interested in Photography?
I’ve always liked photography. When I was growing up and in high school it’s when social media started taking off (Myspace and early Facebook days) everyone around me had little point and shoot cameras and were taking pics with their friends. I didn’t really have friends so instead, I got a camera for myself one birthday and started taking pics of the objects around me which is where it really started. I really got into photography on a professional level in college though thanks to one of my professors and ever since then, I haven’t been able to put down a camera.

As an up and coming photographer who influences your work?
I have a lot of influences from local photographers in my area to the big time professionals. Mark Henderson, Freddy Krave, Mike Ruiz, David Laffe, Erika Wagner aka The Drag Photographer, Joel Deverux & Ethan James just to name a few when it comes to bigger names.

I discovered you on Instagram, you photograph all a diverse group of guys, why is diversity important to you in your models?
Its important because when you live in a society that more often than not celebrates only one kind of person or body people tend to get discouraged and look down on themselves physically and even who they are as a person. I will also fully admit that I can certainly do better in representing even more diversity in my portfolio, its a work in progress. Representation is more important than people may think.

Do you have any regular models you currently work with? If so who are they?
There are a few such as my friends Slim, Roman, Jason, Teo, Pheonix etc. There’s a good deal of them and I try to space them out as much as possible so no one gets too bored with anyone haha.

You do a lot of work with underwear. Are there. Any brands you like shooting your models in or specific styles?
One of my favorite brands is Marco Marco and I love shooting in jocks or briefs. I also love the Versace brand underwear and swimwear would love more in my collection (but they are very expensive haha)

Do you have a favorite shoot you have done recently?
I like many of my shoots for different reasons so I definitely can’t pick a current fave at this time. Although I really do enjoy doing the erotic dou shoots when I have a chance.

If you could work with any underwear brand and any model which would you like to work with?
Marco Marco is definitely the brand I would choose and as for model….wow there’s just too many. Although I do have a particular thing for adult film star Alam Wernick is high on the list.

What is your biggest photographic accomplishment and what are your long-term goals?
I am pretty proud of photographing some of the biggest names in drag from queens of RuPaul’s drag race and other well-known queens. I’ve also been published twice in the popular LGBTQ news source known as The Advocate. As far as goals I just want to continue to perfect my craft. I have so much work I want to accomplish and I definitely want to travel with my camera and expand my influence beyond Florida where I currently am.

Covering new brands is pretty standard here at UNB. But one thing we don’t cover a lot is men’s underwear brand that is founded and run by women. This is for women who want to see their men in better underwear. This is something we fully stand behind and hope more women will start underwear companies but at the very least get their man in better underwear. That brand is Creative Underwear for Men.

STATE OF THE UNION (SUIT)

As mentioned a few days ago, we finally got the new white Nasty Pig Union Suits shot on our model Andrew plus we received a small restock shipment and although we didn’t get everything we ordered we did get some more of this year’s colors (blue-grey, army-green and white) plus we managed to get a few of last year’s colors (red and grey). So for the first time ever, we have five different colors of union suit to choose from. For 2018 there is blue-grey, white or army-green and from last year there is red and grey.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a few sizes in a few of those colors but the good news is that we are expecting a few more to arrive on Monday so hopefully that will fill in the gaps.

Underwear Review -Andrew Christian Disco Brief

Andrew Christian furnished the Disco Brief for review. All opinions of the review are my own and were not influenced by Andrew Christian.

Rating: 8/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 8/10

Pros:

  • LOVE the print and metallic fabric
  • The waistband is over the top, which is a good thing
  • It’s made to show off to others

Cons:

  • The brief fabric may be too much
  • The waistband is over the top

UNB Tim recommendation: If you’re looking for a super fun pair of underwear the Disco Brief is it. It’s a little over the top and makes you feel good wearing it. If you want to make a bold statement this is the brief. Also, if you’re wearing it to an underwear party or a night out this could be the perfect bling pair. If you don’t like over the top undies, this pair isn’t for you.

After a few regular pairs of Andrew Christian, I decided to step things up and wear something fun. I got the Disco Brief. Which is a brief with a metallic color that looks like little disco mirrors on the briefs. It’s definitely not one you would wear to work, it’s more of a club pair. However, I rocked these to work one day.

I’m not exactly sure why I wore these to work. I guess it was one of those days where I said fuck it, let’s do something fun. Work has been rough and I figured something fun would at least make me feel good wearing it. As I stated above this is more of a club pair. Why? Because it’s one that is made to be seen. The metallic color mixed with the “over the top” waistband that is perfect for this pair. I mean come on, you need some silver/metallic on the band.

I was really worried about the fabric. Sometimes fabric like this doesn’t have a lot of give or stretch. This pair while a little stiffer than most pairs I have from AC. Wasn’t super tight and uncomfortable. It has a great pouch that was very supportive. The only downside was the legs were a bit tight. This has happened over the years from some pairs of years. It’s usually just the leg openings.

As I mentioned above the legs were tight and it was a little snug. After wearing the pair for a few hours it didn’t bother me. In fact, by lunch, I forgot I was wearing them. I just wish the pair had a bit bigger leg openings. While not a deal breaker it did detract a little.

If you want something fun to wear this is the pair. Especially if you are at a venue or event where you can show off the undies. Either without pants or over the top of a pair of jeans. I guarantee you will get noticed big time.
