Before we get into the post, let me say what a great new website design BodyAware has released this past month. We know here how much a website redesign is, and we say hats off guys.
When you think of underwear for me, satin is not one of those fabrics you think of…sure you think of cotton, nylon, spandex or even modal. But satin… most wouldn’t ever utter the word. However, BodyAware has a whole section of satin undies! There has been a trend and large following to create underwear with a feminine touch. I”m not saying these are women’s underwear by any means. It’s underwear designed for men.
This is also one of those ares that has a divide in the men’s underwear market. And it’s not along the gay/straight line. Its about if you like it or not. I have had guys of all sexual orientations say they love it or they hate it. I am one that is in the middle there are some I love and others I am not fond of them. BodyAware has a great style that mixes the masculine and feminine so well. I think that’s the draw of undies such as these, the mix of two things that shouldn’t go together!

It fit great and just felt amazing all day. I am a huge fan of the bikini cut and find it to be the most comfortable. This pair has a contour pouch with a front seam and is followed through around the back with a rear seam. Something we don’t see these days. It was big in the 80’s and 90’s. So for nostalgic reasons I’m glad to see this back. It is also available in 9 colors, which is amazing. From their site “What would the Greek Gods choose for David? As a side note thongs have been growing in the men’s market. More guys are giving them a chance and finding out that they love them. Which is awesome. This thong is more like a g-string to me rather than a thong but that’s just semantics. This thong has super thin sides and string in the back. It is available in 5 colors. Go Softwear has released a new line called Pop Noir. As you can tell it’s a black collection with a pop of color. There is something to be said about a black collection. Many guys love it as a basic but want to have something with a little extra statement. I like the feel of this collection.
Tthe color comes in with the waistband and piping. In each pair the waistband, leg opening and any other piping is the same color. The colors are Red, Turquoise and Yellow. Those three colors are available in Expose brief (jock brief), brief (with fly), trunk (with fly), sport brief and a jockstrap.
I’m a big fan of waistbands but this one is a little more low key. Which can be a good thing for me. The stripes around the waistband are a nice touch as is the GS in the front and is made out of a 1 1/2 inch elastic band. The pairs are made out of a 60% polyester 32% rayon 8% spandex rib blend.

This is one line from aussieBum that I was looking forward to seeing. I heard they were releasing a Gladiator line. So it had me thinking of what it could be. You guys love jocks, that’s one of the things I have leaned over 6 years in doing this site. They are no longer for sporting activities but rather every day wear. Each year more brands release more and more jocks. One we thought you guys should know is the Jack Adams Racer Fly Jock!
I say this because it’s a really fun design in some great colors! The main colors are black and white. But each jock has the blue waistband that sets off the pair. The other color combinations are blue/black blue/white and white/red (which is the picture above). I just love each of the color combo’s! They are super fun.
I could see this pair under many power suits out there. Like I said above guys are wearing them everywhere and under everything. I”m sure some of you have worn a jock with a suit to work! Or what ever job you have! The Jack Adams site says this pair balances style and performance.

PUMP! Underwear has some great new undies out. I chose just one to profile, but don’t worry we’ll cover more of the line soon! The one pair I loved is the Candy Brief. The main reason is the waistband. I love the white band with the super brief green letters! PUMP! describes this brief as the tighty whitie’s vivacious brother. And I couldn’t agree more!
The pair is is made out of a cotton micro mesh blend. The sides are the mesh and the pouch is the solid. So you won’t have to worry about showing it all off! Not everyone wants a mesh pouch! The pouch as Neon Green and Hot Pink Stitching on Cup that isn’t too bright. That is accented by turquoise Blue Leg Elastic.
This is a really great day glow pair that isn’t over the top. I think PUMP! did a great job on this pair. It would be great for a night out on the town or just a low key dinner at home. Ever since I started with UNB, I have put some underwear designers on my wish list to try. This week I was excited to learn that one of my dream pairs from Marcuse had arrived for me to review. The pair was the Ultra Brief in white which I had seen in various advertisement photos. On first look, this is a very sexy pair of briefs. You expect to see a basic white brief but instead are met with lines that ad sophistication and sexy curves to the pair. I was also able to instantly tell how soft the fabric was to the touch. I slid the pair on and the sexiness continued.
Anyone who is a fan of briefs knows that there are many different types ranging from basic and sport, to thicker sides and thinner sides, waist level and low rise. This pair was definitely low rise and smaller as they barely came up to the top of my butt. There are people who may find this uncomfortable or feel as though your underwear needs to be pulled up throughout the day. This was not the case here. I wore them through an entire work day, moving around quite a bit, and did not ever feel as though I needed to pull my underwear up. The back of the briefs fit just around the butt with no extra coverage to bother the wearer. At the top of the back there is a thin strap, similar to what I used to see in dress 
shirts. I did not see a purpose for this strap nor do I find it very visually appealing. It did not bother the pair or its wear ability.
When it comes to smaller briefs, it can be difficult to gauge the sizing factor. I wear a medium and as I mentioned the pair came to the top of my butt. Since it is a smaller brief, it felt very tight on me all day long. I could feel the tightness under my suit. This did not bother me but it is a notable observation that I feel I should share with my fellow UNB readers. With the smaller briefs, there is usually less fabric and less room. I did find the front pouch to be tighter than I expected. I did not feel as though I had much room which led to slight discomfort throughout the day.
Overall, I am happy that I was able to add Marcuse to my underwear drawer. This is a very hot pair and I love the look of it on. The small concerns I had with the pair could be a result of the way it felt on me today and would not keep me from wearing them again. I nominate this pair for a second wear in a few weeks to see how it feels that day. I have complete confidence that they will be even better the second time around.

Over the last year we have seen a big trend in men’s workout wear. That trend is runners! Back in the 80s when spandex came on the market there were tons of styles and colors. But when the 90s happened they went out of favor with the masses.
Over the last few years a few brands like TIMOTEO, n2n Bodywear and Rufskin made them. But not a lot of other brands followed suit. I think the popularity of the singlet had fueled both buyers and brands a like to look beyond singlets and see what else could be made to be active and comfy at the same time. Let’s face it there aren’t many place you can wear a singlet and not get strange looks out in public.
Speaking from experience I have always liked runners. They fit great and give you great support when you run or are active. Plus I have always thought they were sexy as well. You would think it would just be gay guys wearing them to the gym. But I can’t tell you how many soccer dads in the burbs I have see wearing them to run or bike in. Granted it’s not all of them but I would say about 10% of them do. Which is up from very few to none
If you are looking for a pair where should you go. Well that depends on which pair you want. If you want the more erotic then we would suggest N2N Bodywear (pictured) and Rufskin. Both make amazing and very sexy pairs. But you will have to note that sometimes both brands can make them very low rise. They even mix in some mesh panels and bright colors.
Let’s say you want a pair you can wear to the gym or to run in? Which brand should you be looking at. More sporting brands we suggest are from the likes of Nike and UnderArmour or my current favorite is Skins (pictured). Not only are the engineered for working out they look amazing. Each one of these brand design their runners for active guys, whether it be running, weight lifting or other heavy cardio.
But say you want to give them a try but not really spend a lot of money. Let’s face it they can be $60 and above. Then I suggest you check out cheapundies.com. They have released a very affordable line of runners in the last month. Give them a try and then if you become a fan move on to other brands!
