Over the last year we have seen a big trend in men’s workout wear. That trend is runners! Back in the 80s when spandex came on the market there were tons of styles and colors. But when the 90s happened they went out of favor with the masses.

Over the last few years a few brands like TIMOTEO, n2n Bodywear  and Rufskin made them. But not a lot of other brands followed suit. I think the popularity of the singlet had fueled both buyers and brands a like to look beyond singlets and see what else could be made to be active and comfy at the same time. Let’s face it there aren’t many place you can wear a singlet and not get strange looks out in public.

Speaking from experience I have always liked runners. They fit great and give you great support when you run or are active. Plus I have always thought they were sexy as well. You would think it would just be gay guys wearing them to the gym. But I can’t tell you how many soccer dads in the burbs I have see wearing them to run or bike in. Granted it’s not all of them but I would say about 10% of them do. Which is up from very few to none

If you are looking for a pair where should you go. Well that depends on which pair you want. If you want the more erotic then we would suggest N2N Bodywear (pictured) and Rufskin. Both make amazing and very sexy pairs. But you will have to note that sometimes both brands can make them very low rise. They even mix in some mesh panels and bright colors.

Let’s say you want a pair you can wear to the gym or to run in? Which brand should you be looking at. More sporting  brands we suggest are from the likes of Nike and UnderArmour or my current favorite is Skins (pictured). Not only are the engineered for working out they look amazing. Each one of these brand design their runners for active guys, whether it be running, weight lifting or other heavy cardio.

But say you want to give them a try but not really spend a lot of money. Let’s face it they can be $60 and above. Then I suggest you check out cheapundies.com. They have released a very affordable line of runners in the last month. Give them a try and then if you become a fan move on to other brands!

Retail businesses have to seek new customers to purchase their products and show their brand on a continuous basis. Underwear companies, like any other business, creatively determine the best advertising methods in order to showcase their product and entice customers to come forward. Think about advertising for food. We can not taste it but we know it looks delicious when we see that picture. Our mouth waters and we increase our want. Underwear is built on our sense of touch. We choose what feels comfortable, what feels good against our skin, as well as for looks and practicality. So when it comes to advertising, how do the companies draw us in without being able to feel each pair?

Advertising is a process and companies know how to make that process work for their clientele. Each model, pair, scene, and pose is chosen specifically with the customer’s sense of sight in mind. The smooth chest, the exotic island, the large package, and the smooth bubble butt are all ways in which these companies increase our want for their brand. Recently brands such as Andrew Christian, Cheap Undies, and more have taken the visual to a new level in video advertising. These short clips create stronger connections between customer and brand, associating multiple models, movement, and sex appeal throughout the brain.

Sex is another big seller among underwear companies. We have always heard the saying “sex sells” and it is true. We are a culture built on desire, want, vanity, and the best. We know what we want and we go for it. The same should be for our underwear choices. We want the pair that makes our body look the best, makes someone want us, makes us feel sexy, and draws attention in all of the right places. This is why so many brands focus on package enhances and bubble butt boosters in order to accentuate what we want to flaunt.

Finally, one of my favorite advertising campaigns that I have seen in some print ads online is when the product, in this case the underwear, is not even on the model! One that comes to mind is this print with Addicted where the model is kneeling down with shadows covering all of the right places and we can not even see the underwear. But as they want, I am addicted to it and want to buy it! Or imagine a male model laying naked in bed, a view of a perfectly toned butt that any man would work hard in the gym for. The pair of briefs lays on the edge of the bed next to him. He is not wearing them but we want to purchase that underwear.

Think back to some of the advertising that you have seen out there. Was there an ad that led you to purchase a specific pair of underwear or start buying from a brand? There is a debate in the underwear world which is better a thong or a jock? We have guys who fall on both sides of this issue. I think the main argument is that the Jock is considered by some to masculine, where as the Thong is considered to be feminine. I think this is the totally wrong way to look at the issue.

The main question comes down to comfort. As it should with any pair of underwear. Now I hear some of you out there that you don’t want something giving you a wedgie during the day. Speaking from experience you get the right thong and you never notice the string during the day. Get the wrong string and it won’t last more than 5 minutes.

Jocks have been considered a piece of underwear for sporting activities. We have many readers who will wear nothing but a Bike #10 classic jock, where other guys wear anything and like to mix it up with fashion jocks. The pouch sizes on all these differ, which is the most important factor in a jock. It has to hold you and give you amazing support.

So this brings me back to the question Jock Vs. Thong? After six years of doing the blog I have found you are either one or the other. Meaning one is your favorite over the other, not that you only wear one of the other. Our very own Kyle loves both jocks and thongs. But if you have someone give you two pairs of underwear a thong and a jock, which would you wear first? The next question is if you are a thong or jock guy would you try the other pair?

Hello UNB readers. I hope everyone is wearing comfy undies that they love. I am excited that fall is just around the corner. For me, fall is great because the cool nights are on their way.

I am a lover of running pants, leggings, long johns or what ever name you prefer to call them. I find that wearing them on a chilly evening while watching the tv is cozy and in an odd way, very sexy. The compression of the material and the feel is relaxing and almost hypnotic. I am hoping this fall I will have that someone special I can introduce them to and cuddle with.

Another of my favorite fall activities is to go out for a hot chocolate and hit some of my favorite book stores and enjoy the crisp night air. Of course nder my jeans I am wearing a pair of long johns. The warmth of them along with me knowing what sexy surprise im wearing under my jeans makes for a fun outing.

I often wonder if any of the other guys are also wearing long johns and if so do they love them as much as I do. I have noticed this year more companies are coming out with great long johns that are sexy and stylish.
