Nasty Pig released their Holiday Video called Give/Receive. Which features their clothing and underwear. Check out the video and then check out the gear.

After  set this to post, I received this from Nasty Pig:

We were excited to have our second television spot run on various cable markets in the US. We shot a great holiday spot for Nasty Pig and were very happy with the results. Considering what is currently shown on TV, we were very disheartened when our spot was pulled off the air here in New York City. While no one at Time Warner Cable would reply to us for days, a reporter from Gawker came to our defense and wrote a fair and balanced story about what went down and posted our commercial so everyone could see it. Please read this story on Gawker and share it with your friends. It shows that we have a long way to go before we are truly accepted.

UNB Model Profile featuring Chandler Smith

10699099_847087145315755_1424537090_n

Chandler sat down with us at UNB to discuss his modeling career to date as well as share some of his best work he has done.

UNB Kyle:  What was your first modeling gig and how did you come to get it?

Chandler:  My first opportunity i ever had to do a photo shoot was one week after the Alabama State Championship Bodybuilding competition in August this year. My friend Michael Muench got in touch with me about 2 days after the show and told me to get back on my diet and meet him in Atlanta in just 4 days haha. It was a simple shoot, just something to try to build up a portfolio. it was there i got my favorite shot so far. The one of me in pink CheapUndies and Pink Under Armour.

858154Kyle:  What made you want to pursue modeling?

Chandler:  Well its something i never thought of doing really. But when i started to get into competing in mens physique, people started to come forward wanting to work with me. So in my mind i thought, its an opportunity i might not ever get again. And i never know what will come of it if i didnt try.

Kyle:  Which shoot do you consider your breakthrough in your career?

Chandler:  As of right now it might have to be the first one. Mainly due to the response i got from some of the shots in it. But ive been able to do a couple of others since then but the shots have yet to be released.

Kyle:  It is good to always remember your first jump into modeling.  Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Chandler:  Has to be the holiday shoot i did with you guys. It was so relaxed and everyone was having a lot of fun the whole time. Made some great friends that day.

Kyle:  That one was a lot of fun!  Glad you had a great experience!  Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

Chandler:  Ill have to say the first one. I had no idea what to expect, or what i was even doing really haha.

Kyle:  I am sure it can be quite a new experience, but that is past you now and you have some great photos in your portfolio.  Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not IMG_6904worked with yet?

Chandler:  Id love to do athletic wear, like Under Armour or Adidas. But from the brands ive been fortunate to wear so far, I love N2N Bodywear, and JOR. Still have so many brands to learn though haha. And again with me still be very new to all this im still learning photographers. But would absolutely love to work the FuriousFotog, Golden Czermak. He does some amazing work.

Kyle:  What is something that your fans don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

Chandler:  I kinda built up a reputation among my fellow competitors this year for putting tons of pics of foodporn on everyones Facebook walls every Friday, calling it Foodporn Friday. I went even as far as starting a Facebook page for it haha. I really love food, especially sweets.

Kyle:  Ok, we need to trade recipes in between underwear talk!  What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

Chandler:  As far as the diet goes, its not as strict as a Competition prep, but it has the same concept. Lots of proteins, low carbs, sodium, and fats. I workout 6-7 days a week. Working different muscle groups each day with about 20-30 min of cardio immediately afterwards each day.

CREDENZA-1

An old underwear contact reached out to me about YOCISCO underwear. They are a brand launched in Denver in June 2013. It was the creation of international go-go dancer and male entertainer Cisco. He used is first hand knowledge of underwear to start a line that would be embraced by men of all sexual orientations, sizes and styles.

The line is a far cry from Tighty Whites. The line combines color and comfort in a a sexy, urban, edgy way. This underwear makes you feel sexy, confident and comfortable from the moment you put them on till you take them off. They say “YOCISCO, Where Sexy Starts. The picture above is proof of that!

The underwear is made out of Bamboo. They did this because its one of the softest fabrics on the market. It has a natural absorbency that keeps you dry and comfy. Another natural property is its anti-bacterial. Lastly, it’s breathable and will keep you cool.

You maybe asking what styles they have? Currently they have boxer briefs/trunks and jocks. I am looking forward to a brief! We hope you check it out at http://www.yocisco.com

Today, I’m reviewing the Envy Logo Sport Trunk.  This was my first soiree into this brand, so I was interested to try this pair out.  It came in a soft blue color, but is also available in black, white, and grey; and it has a “Team Envy” log on the right hip.  Initially, it looked kind of small, and the sizing is “S/M” versus the traditional “S”, “M”, etc.  The material felt a little scratchy when I first opened it, but after washing, it got a little more comfortable.

To review the pair, I decided to run it through the full spectrum of my day: work, gym, lounging, sleep.  The legs are a little constricting, which, for a trunk is kind of a pro, and a con.  The legs definitely stayed in place throughout the day, but it still felt kind of uncomfortable around my legs.  At the gym, it still stayed in place well, and did a pretty good job as far as moisture wicking.  It wasn’t uncomfortable to wear at the gym, but didn’t provide the best support.  Overall, though, the pair held up well throughout the day.

The sizing, as I mentioned, isn’t your standard small, medium, etc; but mine came in a “S/M”, which the box says fits a 28-32 waist.  I usually wear a medium in underwear, with a 32-24 waist, and the pair felt fine around my waist.  Also, as mentioned above, the legs did feel a little snug.  I’m not sure how much difference another size up would have made as far as the legs go, though, but as far as the waist sizing, it seemed to run pretty true to what I would have expected.

The material ended up feeling a lot better than I expected it to: it’s 90% polyester, 10% spandex, but felt kind of weird when I first took it out of the box.  It’s softer than I thought it would be.  I liked that the legs stayed in place all day, even at the gym: trunks often ride up too much while active and these definitely didn’t.  The pouch has a similar design to the Andrew Christian “hang free” pouches, and thus, provides a little extra room.  As I’ve already mentioned several times, though, the legs were really uncomfortable and tight.  There really isn’t anything that makes this pair stand out, or leave me wanting to grab it first out of my drawer before anything else.

It’s not a bad pair of underwear; there’s just nothing really special about it that you can’t find in multiple other pairs of sport trunks.  I didn’t feel especially sexy while wearing it, and it didn’t seem to add anything to my day that I couldn’t get from another pair of underwear.  I have a desk job, so staying in place really isn’t an issue during my work day, but it was nice that everything stayed in once place while at the gym.  It did keep things cool “down there”, which you won’t get from other materials, say cotton.  Honestly, though, I wore it for the one day to get my impressions, and it’s been sitting in my drawer since.

Overall, I’d give this pair a rating of a 6.

Modus Vivendi - Masai Line 05Just in time for Christmas, Modus Vivendi presents the fifth part of its latest campaign for 2015 in which each line from its new collection is individually presented by a selected photographer renowned for his outstanding talent and unique style.

So far we have visited four destinations (England, USA Greece and Spain) and this time we take you to France, a country synonymous with fashion and good taste and incidentally one of the brand’s strongest markets. Not to be missed! Here we take a trip to southerly Aix-en-Provence, close to the Mediterranean and home to photographer Lionel André.

This outstanding artist worked with models James Laurens and Kylani’ As Model, who strongly portray masculine ideals in their presentation of this new line of underwear and athletic loungewear, the Masai line. Dramatic and powerful, André’s shots bring us a blast of heat in the midst of winter. Brilliant colours and one of the most iconic of photographic themes, the sea, take a leading role.

With designs inspired by the Masai warriors of Kenya, the new apparel comes in true reds and black and includes favourite items such as the two styles of briefs and boxers, the langot and saruel pants, all in new colours and fabrics. The line offers also a robe, a brand new t-shirt design and lounge pants, all made of the highest quality materials and offering tremendous comfort.

Adam-Levine-10-27-12Waistband advertising is a little phrase that I said in my head after I started seeing different celebrities and men walking the street, getting in their car, and doing daily activities with a peek of their waistband from the underwear they were currently wearing.  It’s great to see the various men of the world showing signs of 2(x)ist, Calvin Klein, Diesel, and so many more.  As consumers and underwear readers, what affect does this have on us?josh-duhamel-10-1-11

To me this waistband advertising has two sides to it.  First, it makes the celebrities more real and more down to earth knowing what brands theyhave picked as their personal favorite apparel.  It fascinates me to see what type of underwear different men, whether celebrities or not, are drawn to.  Secondly, it unravels a new layer of intimacy to the person’s being.  Knowing what underwear someone is wearing is one of the most intimate and revealing portraits of who they are, apart from being naked.  We are not ashamed of the underwear that we are wearing but sometimes we do not want to reveal that most intimate detail of our being.  The waistband can declare the brand but not always the style.  Is it a brief, a boxer, a thong, or a jockstrap?  For the most part, we don’t know but we wonder and assume. Exclusive - Daniel Craig Gets A Newspaper

I expect that the various brands love seeing celebrities and social media pictures of various people displaying their waistbands.  In a way, it is a walking billboard showing their brand in real life.  Models show the glamour of the brand while these real life examples bring it back to the everyday consumer.  Seeing a pair of beautiful underwear on a model, the fit and form and then to turn around and see it on my favorite celebrity actor out and about, would definitely peak my interest in a purchase.

UNB Model Profile featuring Nathan Mckellips

IMG_0081

Nathan sat down with us at UNB to discuss his modeling career to date and show us some of his best work.

UNB Kyle:   What was your first modeling gig and how did you come to get it?

IMG_0457

Nathan:  My first modeling gig was in 2009. I modeled for a bar that I was working at. Afterwards, the photographer asked me if I would come back and work with him on some projects he had. I went back to work with him and the rest was history.

Kyle:  Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time with that job.  What made you want to pursue modeling?

Nathan:  I had always wanted to pursue modeling since I was a little child. I would see the ads for designers and I knew I wanted to be like models in the clothes.

Kyle:  Which shoot do you consider your breakthrough in your career?

Nathan:  I consider my breakthrough shoot, was my first photo shoot in 2009. I consider this my breakthrough because after that shoot I was asked to come back for some projects and that lead me to flying to Orlando for a shoot and runway and then to San Diego to shoot and the snow ball keeps rolling from there.

Kyle:  It’s great that that first shoot has had such an impact on your career and will be one you never forget.  Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Nathan:  My favorite shoot was back in 2010. I was on the beach in San Diego. What more is there to love than shooting on the beach.

Kyle:  Very true!  I am sure it was torture!  Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?1688938_10152364069226491_6829431375471912057_n

Nathan:  My most challenging shoot was earlier this year. I did a photo shoot with a few dead octopi. The smell was awful, they were cold and slimy and I was barely clothed with them on me. It was a love/hate shoot. Loved the creativity it involved but hated the smell.

Kyle:  I can imagine.  Probably not what you thought you would be modeling with but a great picture was the outcome.  Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

Nathan:  YES!! I would love to work with Armani, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. Some of my favorite photographers that I would love to work with is Nigel Barker or Angelo Sgambati.

Kyle:  What is something that your fans don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

Nathan:  I actually have a degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. I also spend the summer of 2012 exploring China. Ni hao!

Kyle:  That is a very impressive degree.  What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

Nathan:  If I have to show abs, then I go vegan for a week before the shoot. It cuts out all excess lower pooch. No drinking and lots of rest.

Last night I think the Holiday party season really got kicked off. It made me think of what would be great pairs to wear to a holiday party. Now I am not one for the kitty over the top holiday prints. A few companies like aussieBum do them very well but the ones at big box stores I usually stay away from. No cartoon characters or elf prints for me.

So this got me thinking what would be 5 great choices to wear to a holiday party and be in the spirt but not be over the top. I also wanted them to be pairs you could wear the rest of the year because let’s face it wearing Merry Xmas undies in July is just sad. So I put my brain in over drive to come up with what would be 5 great pairs.

040733_61106--426_583--1028222539

1. 2(X)ist Tartan No Show Trunk

This pair is a mainstay at 2(X)ist every holiday season. It’s just festive enough to be considered holiday but can be worn year round. The new cranberry stripe is just fun. Before they had a plaid print and a solid. I think this addition is a great one. Available at the 2(X)ist site for $24. Also available in a brief and long johns.

2. John Sievers Natural Pouch Brief in Racing Red

I personally think the John Sievers line from International Jock is one of the most under rated brands on the market. You don’t hear about it much but its some of the most amazing underwear. Especially for those who have extra up front. The pair I have I just love. So when I saw the Racing Red this is perfect to wear under your holiday best. It will keep those endowed guys super happy all night and look great while doing it! The pouch is one of the best on the market, hands down. Available at International Jock for $24.95

2209 (2)

3. Clever 2209 Soccer Boxer – Green

I know we have many fans of the boxer brief and the long boxers are one of the biggest trends in men’s underwear right now. This one from Clever is perfect for wearing to a party and coming home and lounging around in them after. Made out of a sports mesh you could wear it to the gym outside of the holiday season or during your favorite sporting activity. Available from GDD World at Candyman Fashions for $31.48

Unknown-36

4. Mosdus Vivendi Masai Boxer Red

Not everyone wants a long boxer for Holidays, they can be a little uncomfortable under a suit. The Masai Boxer from Modus Vivendi would be great under a suit for your company holiday party. It won’t give you any crazy underwear lines under your pants and has a low waistband that will keep you comfy all through the night. Plus the color is bright and festive. A tip, wear a tie that matches your undies for the holidays! Available at Modus Vivendi for 25.50€

5. Andrew Christian Almost Naked Arch Jock – Holiday Collection

We had a brief, trunk, long boxer and boxer. What would the holidays be with out a jock? Not everyone wants to wear something traditional. The Almost Naked Arch Jock from the AC holiday collection would be great under jeans you would wear to any party. The pouch will give you great support through out the night and if anyone saw it it would be a conversation starter to say the least. This is a limited edition pair and is available at the Andrew Christian site for $26.93

These are a few suggestions we’d love to hear more of your choices on what you should wear or what you did wear to a party!

When you think of specific underwear brands, you tend to associate them with certain ideas or designs that they excel at.  Gregg Homme is one of those brands for me and I always associate them with a more daring, sexy, revealing design scheme.  I had the pleasure of wearing the Showoff Jockstrap and it did not disappoint in those areas.  This jockstrap was what I consider Gregg Homme to represent.  This brand brings out the sexy side in an individual and allows you to push the envelope and feel good about yourself.  The jockstrap is appropriately named Showoff because that is what I did in it.  This jockstrap is my first sheer jockstrap.  The front of the underwear has a nice sheer material that allows you to show everything off with a stripe design throughout the front pouch.  Another great benefit to this front pouch is how it is an anatomical center seamed pouch that allowed great room and movement for everything.  The front pouch offered plenty of room and was not uncomfortable at any part throughout my entire work day.

The cheeky backside of the jockstrap is just as fun as the front.  Like most jockstraps, this one offers straps around the butt to add support and outline more body you are showing off.  Some jockstraps have tight straps or rough feeling straps but these where soft and comfortable all day long.  Sometimes, I did not even remember I was wearing a jockstrap!

IMG_8482

Between the front pouch, the waistband, and the back straps, this jockstrap met all expectations of a comfortable, sexy pair of underwear throughout a long work day.  I wear a medium and this pair fit me perfectly.  I never had a moment that was uncomfortable, chaffing, or anything bad.  The waistband features a rubber logo of the brand in the center.  The rubber logo seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the underwear but in the overall appeal of this underwear that is not a semi-con I am worried about or would keep me from anything about this underwear.

Gregg Homme has managed to mix sexy with comfortable and proven that sexy underwear doesn’t have to only be worm minutes before it is shown and removed.  The Showoff Jockstrap offers all around sexiness with its revealing sheer front and open jockstrap back.  This jockstrap comes in basic black and white as well as fun colors such as pink, lime, and purple, the one I wore today.  Allow yourself to be sexy whenever you want in Gregg Homme!

Pros:

  • Sheer pouch
  • Soft, comfortable straps
  • Adequate front pouch

Cons:

  • Rubber logo

Ratings:

  • Daily Fit = 9
  • Sizing = 9
  • Construction/Materials = 9
  • Styling = 9
  • Daily Performance = 8.5
  • Overall = 9

Gregg Homme furnished this pair for review.  You can find this pair for $40.95.
