When did you first discover your love of undies?

I discovered my love for undies when I was around 13/ 14. A very interesting time in my life, I was making more art but in a more serious manner, Coming to terms that I was Bisexual (well back then I just knew I liked boys and girls), as well as exploring what I would later in life consider to be fun colourful and sexy undies.

What style was you favorite when you started to love underwear (boxer brief, brief, jock, thong or etc)?

At first I was in love with boxer briefs. The main reason I thought boxers or briefs were the only choices for men/ boys (how silly of me to learn in many years later how truly foolish the idea of gender roles truly are).  However when I explored more in my life with undies…I’m loving thongs and boy shorts. The main reason it’s a tie between these two

When you bought you first pair of underwear what brand and style was it?

I bought my first pair of underwear when I was 16 (roughly when I started working) It was a pair of Hanes Bikini. As I’m sure many have experienced…the butterflies in your stomach as you look aimlessly at countless packages with men so sculpted on them that they put statues to shame. As far as brand went, I had always trusted Hanes. This made it a more comfortable transition from traditional to….new!

What influenced your underwear buying habits when you first started your passion (catalogues, internet or friends)?

I was more influenced by catalogues ( I wasn’t lucky enough to have the internet when I was younger), just the way the male and female models looked was amazing. Then again…money did play a big part, most times I couldn’t afford the styles that I loved so more often then not, I had to buy what I could afford.

Are there any brands you had to have when you started buying?  Did you ever get a pair?

There are a few (I don’t think those companies are still around) However I did happen to get a few pairs (maybe not the best way) some were on sale, others were given to me. Mind you, most of the super sexy undies I received were from women.

Did your first pair still influence the styles you wear today?

I would say so, My undies are tighter and sexier (I feel). With my first pair being boxer briefs…not very hard
to beat something like that. A true story, Don’t get me wrong I do love wearing both boxers and briefs but they are more my lazy day go too undies.

What is your favorite style today?

My top undies are thong, cheeky, and boy shorts. Mind you Cheeky and Boy Shorts are pretty much the same thing< just a bit of differance in the amount of fabric. Anywho, I like them because of the fact that you still cet the comfort and coverage in the front and…a little showing off of the bum (Cheeky more so than Boy Shorts). Thong, Who doesn’t love a sexy secret?

Who are you favorite brands now?

My favourite brands are a large range so rather than sit here and type out a  long and wordy list of brands but…I’ll do my top favourites and hope all are happy with that. Hanes, CandyMan, ManPower, Boy Rio, Timmys Secret, Ergo Wear. Like I said I don’t want to give away all my hidden brand Gems.

Vampire Strippers PosterWhat happens when Magic Mike meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Its the movie Vampire Strippers Must Die! Which looks like a lot of fun. We got the new trailer and press release this week. We hope to interview a few of the guys in the movie. Here is the press release ”

A new trailer has been released today for Vampire Strippers Must Die!, a hilarious and sexy horror-comedy set to star America’s Next Top Model’s Bryant Wood and underwear supermodel Pablo Hernandez, in their first feature film acting roles. The script for the film previously won the New York LGBT Film Fest’s Screenwriting competition in 2010.

Set to go into production in November 2015, the wacky comedy by award-winning filmmaker Keith Hartman follows a group of American male strippers on tour in Eastern Europe faced with having to battle the undead. With fantastic dance numbers, jaw-dropping epic fight scenes, fun plot twists, and funny, yet memorable character moments, Vampire Strippers Must Die! will feature more hot boys than you can shake a stick at, and then some. The film will also star famous fitness model John Suazo, and other exciting new talent.

While the men of Chippendales perform in London, Paris and Milan, the men of Overnight Male are stuck playing low rent dive bars in Bulgaria. After six weeks on tour, everyone is getting just a teeny bit cranky. The straight strippers and gay strippers are ready to kill each other, and the only thing holding the band of American male strippers together is their geeky and resourceful tour manager, Jake. No matter what Eastern Europe throws at them, Jake’s been able to handle it, whether it’s been aggressive fans, thieving bar owners, broken buses, or even the occasional need for bail money. Vampires, though, are a new one.

Vampire Strippers Must Die! will feature a lonely vampire hunter who has never gotten over his high school boyfriend. A female vampire who has been in a bad relationship for 300 years, before finally discovering the small screen wisdom of Dr. Phil. And a pair of twin brothers who strip together but compete over everything.

Hartman’s previous two films, You Should Meet My Son! and Real Heroes, have earned “Best Picture” awards at nine film festivals, as well as “Best Director,” “Best Screenplay,” and several “Best Actor” awards for members of the cast.

The trailer is being released as part of the film’s Indiegogo campaign, which is seeking to raise $125,000 in production funds in 30 days. A successful campaign will give Hartman the resources for an ideal 18-day shoot, which will allow them to shoot all of the stunts, fight scenes and dance numbers to make this film as fresh and as exciting as possible.

Those interested in learning more about the film can visit the official Vampire Strippers Must Die! page at www.VampireStrippersMustDie.com.

When did you first discover your love of undies?

It was some time during my adolescence, I think! You know when you get to that stage in your life that you need to find your own style, your own dress code. I was very frustrated at my y-fronts at that time and wanted to find something more sexy and a lot more interesting! I wanted to start putting my own style together from inside out and… the love of undies have just started to form!

What style was you favorite when you started to love underwear (boxer brief, brief, jock, thong or etc.)

I was a big fan of briefs in the beginning. I found them really flattering for my type of body and loved the way they fit me.  I was a very “classic” type still and black was by far my favourite colour!

When you bought you first pair of underwear what brand and style was it?

I will never forget that day! I was in Milan with friends and went to the shops specifically to find a really nice pair of underwear. It was a pair of briefs by Roberto Cavalli. Very simple… all black… very elegant. That was a long long time ago and I still have it! It is in my “happy memories” drawer!

What influenced your underwear buying habits when you first started your passion (catalogues, internet or friends)

In the beginning it was mostly friends. We used to talk about clothes and underwear was a big part of it. It was mainly though what we could find in shops at home or other places we happen to visit. The Internet later on really opened my eyes!

Are there any brands you had to have when you started buying?  Did you ever get a pair?

No, I cannot say there were. I got into the “habit” of buying literally every pair I liked. Sometimes I didn’t have money to take the bus back home but at least I had a very nice, new, pair of undies!

Did your first pair still influence the styles you wear today?

Today, no, not really, but it did influence my style for a very long time. I was a big fan of classic cut briefs for quite some time but then, when I started discovering alternative cuts, I was drawn into all types of underwear. Something different, like a cut I haven’t seen before, or an innovative combination of colours or fabrics, now certainly fascinates me more.

What is your favorite style today?

Would you believe it if I told you that I don’t have one anymore? LOL I think that every cut serves a purpose in a man’s outfit. I love wearing a pair of briefs if I go out running, a pair of boxer-briefs for the gym, a nice thong or jock when I am in a sexy mood and something very creative under a suit.

Who are your favorite brands now?

It is hard to tell and as an underwear blogger I probably shouldn’t tell. LOL There are certain brands I am really looking forward to see their next collections and others that keep on amaze me with their creativity. My biggest passion though is discovering new brands. I believe the next “best thing” in the underwear industry will come from them. Lets leave it there! LOL

RunnersOne of the biggest trends in the world of men’s gear is spandex. In the last few years singlets have been some of the most popular gear on the market. No longer a piece of clothing wrestlers wear on the mat. It is now worn for athletic and erotic purposes. This love has spurred even more gear.

The latest are runners. You maybe asking what the hell are runners? They go by many names including leggings, running tights and spandex pants. Usually are full length to the ankle but could also be just below the knee. This style has been around since the 80’s and were very popular. In the 90’s and early 2000’s they fell out of style with the public.

In the last few years many runners have taken these up for running in colder weather. Also UnderArmour and Skins have been produced many types of these for sports and working out. These performance pairs are expensive and are designed for serious working out. But that hasn’t stopped the popularity of them. Just check out Tumblr, they have tons of blogs for each brand!

Why is the popularity increasing for these? Guys I think are feeling more confident and want to show off their worked out bodies. This goes for gay and straight. Many of the runners are straight.

Now brands are starting to produce these for fashion. Just as singlets they are not for just athletic activities any more. One of the earliest to produce them has been N2N Bodywear. Just like singlets, runners for them have come in both workout and erotic wear.

Here are some examples:

Unknown-5Rufskin Lief –  Not so basic running tights available in various color combinations to compliment our latest athletic collection

Unknown-6Rufskin MaxGlow  – Three-quarter length running tights are sure to demand attention with a graphic red, white & blue print

Unknown-7Rufskin Ricky – Full length workout tights made from poly-spandex “super mesh” that forms to every muscle while remaining breathable and comfortable

R30-15-FullN2N Bodywear USA Runners – N2N’s newest sport runner. Body-hugging design. Snug ankle bands, elastic waist and draw cord

TT2-15-FullN2N Bodywear TriTech Runner – Active runners with a built in pouch. Made of recycled PED.

R8-11-3N2N Bodywear Sheer Skin runner – If you like runners and you are somewhat of an exhibitionist; our Sheer Skin Runner is the perfect choice. Our pouch-less, long legged uber low ride design coupled with the sheer butt cleavage element make this one sexy workout or party outfit.

pump-micromesh-jocks

The new collection of jockstraps from Canadian designer PUMP! has landed at Jockstrap Central – with all the awesome styling, expert craftsmanship and big bold colors you’d expect from PUMP! but this round of jockstrap designs come with their own air conditioning in the form of a sexy and sleek micro-mesh pouch that will not only keep the air flowing when you get all hot and sweaty but the spandex ensures the jocks show off your bulge to perfection!

As with all PUMP! creations, don’t think it’s all style and no substance – they’re ultra-comfortable with double stitching, modern fabrics, super-plushed and extra soft wide elasticated waistbands including some of the softest leg straps we’ve ever encountered. Here’s the details:

As mentioned, the pouch is a perforated hi-tech fabric of nylon, cotton and spandex and although not overly see-through, they’re see-through enough to tease what lies beneath. The pouches are contoured for comfort and fit and include verticle stitching and piped edging – both help in defining the bulge. They also all include a full two inch wide plushed waistband woven with a front PUMP! logo, smaller off-center logo in the back with horizontal racing stripes. Finally, the leg straps are one inch wide and as we mentioned, incredibly soft.

Whether it’s at the gym, the office, lounging at home or on a hot date, you’re going to love wearing these affordable low rise jocks with their streamlined hi-tech design. There are six new styles so be sure to collect them all.

Finally, Jockstrap Central’s unbelievaly cute and sexy model Matt is back (because their customers begged them for it) putting all the new PUMP! jocks through their paces – and boy do these jocks show off that beautiful package of his. Be sure to visit their website to check him out.

UndiesHave you ever wanted to hear about how other guys found their love of underwear? You sometimes hear it online when you meet someone but for the most part you never hear, for the lack of better words, their origin story. We reached out to some of our readers to share how they discovered the love of underwear.

Each guy got a series of 8 questions. They all answered them and sent them back. Some included self pics and others didn’t. Not all guys are up for putting themselves in undies all over the net! We respect that and wanted them to share their passion.

The guys are gay, bi and straight. Some of them are younger and others are older. They come from all walks of life. Its a good cross section of our readers. You will get some insight on others and see how your own story matches each guys.

One thing amazed me is that there were a lot of similarities in the answers to the questions. It was great to read. We hope you will enjoy this series this week! Each day a new guys post will go up.

There is no shame in loving underwearI have been running UNB for almost 7 years. It started as a way for me to share my love of undies with the world. Did I think It would catch on and become what it is today? Never in my wildest dreams. Even to this day I will meet people who love underwear and mention I run UNB and they tell me how much they love the site. This is awesome because believe it or not I still have times when I feel like I’m putting all this out there for me. I forget that there are thousands who read it.

Over the journey I have met gay, bi and straight guys. The love of underwear is universal and we all share a bond regardless of our sexuality. There also is a bit of shame with a love of underwear. I think it’s because underwear is so personal to us. Its exposing our deep down likes and passion. Revealing that is never easy. But in the whole scheme of things in the world of likes and fetishes underwear is pretty tame!

This is the other universal of underwear. Guys of all sexual orientations aren’t open about their love. Yes, some of us are open on Twitter and other social networks. Where we can be behind a screen name and remain mainly anonymous. In real life with our friends, lovers and significant others sometimes we hide the love. Why do we do that?

Is there shame in wearing underwear to make us feel great? Women don’t seem to have this problem. They have tons of different underwear from every day pairs to sexy lingerie. It’s a given that they will wear different kinds of underwear. Whereas guys are stuck with boxers or tighty whities. Why shouldn’t guys have the same options to wear amazing and sexy underwear?

So Why do guys have this need to hide their love of underwear? I have a few reasons after years of experience with this.

Guys don’t want to be judged – As I stated above underwear is personal and we choose who we share it with. Everyone who reads UNB has something different they love in underwear. This could be mesh, spandex, bikinis, colors/prints or more. Nothing worse than taking off your pants and have a person go “what are you wearing?’ and then laughing. There should be no shame in what we like.

Not Societally Accepted – For the longest time guys were to be wearing boxers. Everyone wore them and if you wore something different then you were strange. You often hear, “A real man wouldn’t be caught dead in a bikini/thong.” Like these is something wrong with either pair. Also guys don’t talk to other guys about underwear. It’s a taboo topic

Our Partners don’t get it or like it – I have a friend who loves underwear and thongs. But when he has dated the people he dates never get his underwear. So he changes his underwear and keeps that part hidden. Hiding a major part of you is never good for a relationship. So many of us do what he’s done and keep the underwear for personal time.  Rather than incorporation it with our partners.

These reasons are all guys regardless of sexual orientation. So what can we do about this? Well, we can’t cause a societal shift over night (as much as I would like). We can take small steps in that direction.

Find guys who share your love – This may sound like a DUH tip. But it really is empowering to have a friend who you can talk about underwear. It could be new stuff, favorites we have and trends happening. It also doesn’t have to be limited to the same sexual orientation. Some of the straight guys I have met through UNB are massive underwear fans. I really enjoy getting a different perspective from the guys.

If someones asks about your underwear be honest. If a friend or someone sees you have something different, maybe a pair of 2EROS or Andrew Christian. Just say I like comfortable underwear and prefer a style and cut. Don’t grab it and shove it in your pocket and hope they won’t ask. We have had a few readers this happened too and they got their friend to try better underwear!

Be honest with your partner – Tell them your love of underwear. How it makes you feel on a daily basis and how you can incorporate it into your sex life as well. Let’s face it we are wearing great undies and we want it seen at some point and to get busy. Get them involved with what you buy and take their opinion in to consideration. Relationships are give and take so introduce them slowly into undies!

Its time we bring undies out into the open. Some of you out there this doesn’t apply too. You are open post pics on Twitter with face and share your opinion. But those who are still keeping it hidden remember you are not alone and guys out there share this same thing.

GO Softwear Booth
GO Softwear Booth

We are starting back our tradition of running Brief Distractions featuring Magic/Curve from the past. On Monday the shows take place and I am traveling today and relaxing over the weekend in a much needed break. This means this week you will get some great stuff. This is Go Softwear from the first time I met them. They are run by two amazing guys. It was fun to run around that day and meet everyone I have talked to via email!

Alex at Go Softwear spent an hour telling me how underwear was made. It gave me great information I use today!

Model Profile (1)Many of you guys have Seen Logan Swiecki-Taylor over the years. He’s been the “face” of Rufskin for the past few years. I have known him for a few years and he’s an amazing guy. He sat down with us to answer a few quick questions so you guys can get to know him a bit better!

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

Well my first 100% legit, super, awesome, great job was Rufskin. They found me though Facebook almost 4 years ago.

10357720_864012980279778_6713148876512985819_oWhat made you want to pursue modeling?

I was more or less put into it because of one of my mothers hair dressers when I was younger “hes so cute he should model”, All the castings I went to never were fruitfull till I was out of college.

Do you have a shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

I did a bunch of test shoots in Greece which helped me build a deccent “book” which led to Rufskin discovering me.

11817199_10207409476613929_711299748099802020_nWhich shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Rufskin, Rufskin, Rufskin! No other group or photographer has been able to share, create, and capture the energy that they do!

Which shoot has been your most challenging?

With the team that Rufskin has there is no such thing as a “challenge”.

10257581_841343929213350_7099201618281977213_oAre there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

Never really though about it… Maybe someone or something along the lines of action and extreme sports (jumping out of a plane on fire while naked type stuff)

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

I’m hella shy but an all round nice guy once my shells cracked.

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

Its not so much preparing for shoots… My lifestyle/passion is anything fitness related the side effects result in looking good naked. I’m Paleo-ish, love fruits, veggies, meat, and seafood. It boils down to eating REAL food thats minimally processed. Good in = Good out.

IMG_8104Favorite cheat meal?

I scream you scream we all scream for ICE CREAM

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

No and I still enjoy comando!

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?

33.3% Boxers, 33.3% Briefs, 33.3% jocks 100% Rufskin

Unknown-20

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

Le Sac by Rufskin which has been recreated and is now Asusa. Nice pouch for your man bits to just hang out in. (pictured Above)

What are your goals for your career?

Ive never set any goals for my modeling, I’ve always just “gone with the flow bro”. It’s gotten me this far and I’m happy. In the end as long as I’m happy thats all that needs to be planned for.

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

Don’t get your hopes up, its a cut-throat industry… but don’t give up. Everyone knows someone else use that to your advantage.

See more of Logan at the Rufskin site!

Screenshot (32)It’s summer, the sun is out (yeah, even in Seattle), the waves are rolling, and the beach is calling. And calling. And calling. Pick up the phone already!

So, now you’ve decided to go to the beach or pool and it is time to pick out a swim suit. Maybe you have one or two, maybe you have 5. And with swim suits more so than with underwear the different between styles is huge. Loose and baggy seems too frat-house. Perhaps short shorts is a good way to go. Speedos are fun but where is our confidence level now…

I want to tell you, get the suit that you WANT that you think will give you a pep in your beach walking step. If one catches your eye online and you start thinking that maybe it’s going to be too revealing or worry about how your belly will respond (I think that often) forget those thoughts! We all want to look good but in the end we all NEED to feel good. Go for it.

635499466489518454

Have I always listen to this advice? Nope. I own a grey and orange swim thong that I have worn only outside of the US and I need to just wear it, because I want to. Yet, this summer when it came time to skip down to the beach. I did wear a new floral Timoteos speedo, it’s tiny and tight and I love it. I feel great and I am not currently in my best shape.

Speedo cuts aren’t for everyone and that’s fine. They shouldn’t be. If you don’t feel comfortable in them, don’t force it. I own a couple of super cute short shorts. Like my white and mint Sauvage pair and they are just as cute as any slicked tight suit I own. And they have their place in my drawer and on any beach I choose.

Don’t hide in suits that you think you SHOULD wear, be out there in the suits you WANT to wear. Cocksox is out with a new line of suits and if they are anything like some of their underwear…be prepared to be bold. Timoteos has some extremely cute suits out, so do N2N, Sauvage, and many more.

I like to wear whatever fancies me that day, which is why I own a variety of suits. When I want to get out and get a cute tan line and have my booty pop a bit, yeah, I jump into my speedo. It just fits the mood of the day and that’s exactly what it should do. When I was a bit of a “cute and flirty” look that is more effortless to wear, I pull out my mint trunks. They are so easy to wear. So easy to never have to think about while I’m wearing them (one speedo needs some constant adjustment in the dernier region). And when I kind of want to shock those around me and be a bit of a spectacle, I pull out the thong. Even when it is just my friends in a hot tub in Whistler, it’s fun. Swim suits aren’t one size fits all. They aren’t one suit fits all moods, it all comes down to you and what you want, when.

I’ve been out to the beach a lot this summer (yeah, in Seattle, we’re heating up over here). I know what I love most about it all…my swim suit tan line, a semi lasting impression of the fun I had at water’s edge in a great suit.

IMG_8189Swimwear should always be fun. One company that really lives up to this philosophy is Rufskin. They do this with different cuts, colors and prints. Over the years they have created some fun pairs. This is the collection for 2015. Here is what Rufskin says about the line!

Rufskin announces their 2015 full Spring/Summer collection now available at rufskin.com, RUFSKIN Boutiques and select retail partners worldwide.

As a brand renowned for an emphasis on body flattering fit paired with an out-of-the-box design aesthetic, Rufskin offers yet another original and inspired capsule of swim and beachwear that is sexy, exuberant and offers something for everyone. The colors and prints were inspired by the eclectic and dazzling artwork found in and around the RUFHOUSE in the California desert, running the gamut from Latin folk needlepoint artwork to cartoons & lightning bolts.

A wide variety of cuts means you’ll find skimpy Euro style bikinis, retro onion-skin nylon board shorts and everything in between. It doesn’t stop at speedos, sungas and trunks either thanks to a playful collection of beachwear styles including flashy printed tanks and tees as well as super sexy mesh cover-ups. And as always, every piece is designed and manufactured in California.

That’s how one would describe the new Nasty Pig REF brief and jockstrap. These 94% Modal, 6% Spandex pairs are in the traditional Nasty Pig vein and will cross over for anyone who has not ever counted themselves as a NP fan. The hard stripes give great lines for even the smallest of bulges, where the eye is naturally drawn. Thick pouch lines boarder and emphasis the center piece as well.

In two classic NP colors, black or red, these pairs look to be winners. With a solid waist band and classic hog logo lending a bold feel these pairs are in charge, without a doubt. Priced competitively at $29 this pair will go well with anyone’s existing collection. So whether you want a covered bum with the Nasty Pig Ref Briefs or you want a nice lift (and easy access 😉 ) with the Ref Jockstrap NP has you covered…or parts of you.

StraightOne thing I pride UNB on is our number of straight readers. When the blog was created I didn’t think I would ever have straight readers who loves underwear. Over the last few years guys are realizing why let women have all the fun in the unmentionables. I asked UNB Brandon to give us some pros and cons about being a straight underwear lover on Twitter. If you haven’t read much of Brandon he’s a straight shooter (pardon the pun). He speaks his mind and isn’t shy about it. That is one of the biggest reasons I like him. He’s 100% honest and what you see is what you get! If you are asking where he is, he’s been dealing with work and personal issues. He knows he always has a home at UNB!

Here are his pro’s an con’s:

Pro: Having a presence on social media, especially one where I am sharing photos of myself in my underwear collection provides visual that straight guys really can be into great underwear.

Con: On the flip side of that “pro” there is plenty of people (both gay and straight) who actually cannot believe a straight guy would be OK with posting himself in designer underwear, and many of the “cons” to follow are related to this.

Pro: Due to the large contingent of gay men using social media, Twitter and Tumblr specifically to oogle pictures underwear or of guys in their underwear, having a presence on those sites while sharing ”real” photos means social media attention (gaining followers) is fairly easy to come by.

Con: At the same time, when you start to get a lot of followers the expectations on [me] to post daily pictures, or continue at whatever pace I established in the beginning grow right along with the follower count. Additionally, if I don’t continually post, I will lose a few followers after a few days.

Pro: Having a personal underwear account on Twitter and Tumblr forces me to stay interested in underwear and the underwear industry. It’s the easiest way to discover brands (and if you’re posting yourself in underwear) sometimes brands even end up discovering or tweeting at you.

Pro: Being a straight guy means I am kind of already “unique” when it comes to the fact that I am into underwear at the same level some gay men are, and by disclaiming that I am straight in my bios and through tweets or posts, I’ve found that it becomes a great way for other straight guys to discover someone like them–who really loves underwear, or who gets a feeling of relief, knowing their love for underwear doesn’t make them gay, or whatever.

Con: The biggest negative to holding down Twitter and Tumblr pages like mine is the fact that both social media platforms use a similar set up, where once you follow someone, you end up seeing their Tweets and Tumblr posts (re-blogs, mostly). Where this becomes problematic for a straight guy is that a lot of underwear accounts on both sites are almost exclusively catered towards a gay audience. On Twitter, I may want to follow someone who tweets out photos of underwear models, or pics of themselves routinely that I catch being retweeted, but when I go to their page, they themselves are retweeting still images of hardcore gay porn. On Tumblr, the same thing is happening, but what makes it worse is the fact that there are plenty of “Underwear Blogs” who post 85-90% photos of underwear (models, photoshoots, etc.) but the other 10% is hardcore gay porn, or a guy jerking off, or a photo of a naked guy… It’s those types of pages that I REALLY want to follow, but when I’m sitting on the couch with my wife with the laptop open and I am browsing my dashboard (Tumblr) I don’t like “explaining” why a photo of three guys rimming each other is on my dash. It’s an eternal struggle that REALLY, REALLY sucks.

Con: The second biggest (and last for this segment) is related to the second example I posted. For whatever reason, me posting photos of myself in my underwear is “just too gay for a straight guy to be doing.” The reason I finished that sentence in a quote is the “con” here. That is the sentence (or some version of it) I get after I have just been propositioned by someone who wants me to send them nude photos of me, or dick pics, or wants to send me dick pics or nudes of themselves, or wants to know if I’ve ever “done anything with a guy”, the list goes on… Hopefully you can imagine why I view this kind of attention as a con.

I use Twitter to get my photos out there which I format later in the day to post to Tumblr. It is Tumblr that I really like for what I am doing. I’ve made acquaintance with several straight guys who’ve gotten up the courage to ask me several questions, and some of them have even gone on to create their own blogs. The reason I do it is because I want straight guys to know that getting really deep into the world of men’s underwear is completely OK, and if anything they should be looked at as courageous.

If you are a straight guy do you share these issues? Let us know!

Model ProfileWe bring you another great interview. This time we feature Colby Melvin who has been modeling for a few companies over the years. Its amazing to see how his career has progressed over the years. Read the interview and find out more about him and what he’s doing behind the camera now!

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

It was for Bayou Beau Underwear in Houston, TX. I had just recently come out and they came to me at a pool party and asked if I would consider modeling for them. A few weeks later a was on the cover of the local magazine in their underwear. It all took of from there! That was back in 2011.

What made you want to pursue modeling?

Well I never considered it before Bayou Beau approached me. After, I just kept getting more requests for work. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do next so it started as just a temporary side job and turned into something bigger than I could have ever imagined.

Do you have a shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

My shoot with Patrik Mark for Cover Male was my first national campaign, but once I shot “Jockstrap Cowboys” for Andrew Christian things really took off. That’s when I moved to Los Angeles.

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Splatter shot by Gabriel Gastellum. There was just something about getting messy in that paint where I felt like I was able to bring so much more energy and personality.

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

A shoot I did in the Palm Springs desert for Freedom Reigns. I was wearing a jockstrap and there was a lot of wind. Every had your ass sandblasted? It’s not fun. Trust me, don’t try it.

Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

I think I’ve worked with a ton of brands and photographers, but I am always looking for more collaborations. Recently I have decided to work more behind the camera. I am now working with Marco Marco as the marketing director. His underwear are so fun and full of personality and I can’t wait to bring my creative ideas to my mentors brand. I think people are going to be blown away when they see what we come up with.

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

I never expected any of this to happen. 5 years ago I was living in Mobile AL and still thought I liked girls. Once I allowed myself to be myself, all of this happened. So I encourage everyone to never be afraid to be yourself.

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

For me the key to staying fit includes finding a way to make exercise fun. For instance, I literally dance around ALL day lol. Obviously working out is involved, but I’m not as strict with my routine as I’d like to be. Travelling non stop makes it pretty difficult.

Favorite cheat meal?

I love pizza…and gummy bears, cinnamon rolls, chicken wings, and thanks now I’m hungry.

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

Ever since I came out I’ve had a thing for underwear.

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?

70% briefs 30% jocks 0% thongs (I hate the feeling of my hole being flossed by a thong)

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

Petit Q (I don’t even know how to describe it.)

What are your goals for your career?

Underwear modeling for me has always been a platform to bigger and better job opportunities. Luckily that time has come. I am doing a lot more marketing work. Launched a clothing line earlier this year, and will soon be launching another one on my own.

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

Authenticity always wins. Be you and the rest will follow. If not, then it wasn’t meant to happen. That being said, if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen.
