body_7f8e8704-e919-4aa4-819f-03ef3b7ec468_1024x1024I am loving Kiniki underwear. The next pair we have furnished by them to review is the Bandicoot Hipster. It has a funny name but it’s actually a jock boxer. This is my first time ever wearing this style. It may seem odd that I run an underwear blog and never wore a jock boxer before. It took me a while before I finally tried my first jock brief. It’s not that I have an aversion to the pairs but just didn’t have the opportunity to give them a try.

This being a new style for me I wasn’t sure what to expect. I slid it on and noticed you had to use some extra help in the back to pull up the legs. If this is going to be the way I have to deal with this pair all day, it won’t be fun. At least those were my thoughts. But, I had to give it a try! At first I felt kinda of naughty and sexy. Here you are in this trunk but with an open back. I kind of liked this feeling.

I wore this around running errands and working as well. My initial thoughts of the pair didn’t come to pass. It held up quite well. Even being not a huge fan of boxer briefs, the support and fit of these were pretty nice. They fit pretty well and moved with me through out the day. The front gave great support and things didn’t move around through out the day. I was very pleasantly surprised at this. Add in the sexy feel and I really liked them.

If you read the Bandicoot Tanga review from last week, this pair has the same fabric as the that pair. It’s a very comfortable Cotton Lycra blend fabric. It really fits great. Kiniki says this pair has “comfortable and enhancing with an integrated front pouch adding to form and function.” I would totally agree. It’s one of the better pouches on trunk/hipster I have tried. I will say they definitely succeeded on the pouch!

Sizing for me was good. Like the Tanga this pair has a waist band that was almost at the too tight level when putting on. During the day there was no issue. It was only when I was putting on or taking off. Outside of that the XL I was given fit pretty well. As always double check your sizing charts for what size you should get.

Pros:

  • I loved the sexy feel this pair gave me
  • Great supportive pouch
  • Amazing fabric

Cons:

  • Some may not like the open back
  • I wish it came in more colors, it just comes in black and white

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 8
  • Sizing – 8
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 8
  • Daily Performance – 8
  • Overall – 8.2

You can find the Bandicoot Hipster on the Kiniki website for £21.90. It is available in black or white.

Underwear is fun! SupaWear proves that with the new Fruitopia collection. It may sound like a fruity drink but it’s a line of underwear designed to look like watermelon! Before you say what the? I think you should take a look at the new collection! Speaking of the collection, it will be out next week!

I think this collection is awesome. Its just pure fun. The pairs come in a pic with a green waistband to symbolize the green rind. The body is pink flesh of the fruit, and it comes with seeds! The seeds are around the sides and back. It comes in a jock, brief and trunk.

“Fruitopia, Watermelon! Supawear’s latest mouth watering collection is here! It features Supawear’s iconic retro form fit stylings. Watermelon’s colour palette uses bright, juicy pinks and rich greens. The perfect representation of summer – Take a bite!”

The collection is out next week. We will be having a review on this line very soon! I can’t wait to get it. What do you guys think about the collection?

After interviewing Adam Russell the designer and founder of Edge Apparel I could not wait to try out one of the pairs of underwear.  Edge Apparel supplied us with some underwear to review. I selected, as I always try to, a classic brief to start off. Since I’m a big fan of briefs I like to get my first look at a new brand with their briefs. I went for the darker, grey and red option.

The fabric blend of 7% spandex and 93% cotton was very comfortable. It was supportive and soft while still having just the edge of flexibility. It was very smooth to the touch which is always a bonus for the bum and it felt good all throughout the day.

The waist band is a great fit, it both stretches and holds, the ideal balance. It is a very cute, generally solid color band with the trendy logo on the front. The piping on the legs is just as balanced, stretchy, and comfortable and holds up well.

There is no “pouch” or anything in the crotch area. Personally, I’m not a fan of most pouches so I found this excellent. It much reminds me of the bulge area of Calvin Kleins, in a way, roomy, supportive but not overly defined.

When I went to the gym I didn’t have another pair to change into, as I often do, so I did my cardio day in the briefs. They felt fine, held up to the run, climb, and all. As mentioned in the cons section, I did have to tug the back out of my butt a time or two but nothing serious.

Overall I greatly enjoyed this pair of underwear. I am excited to try the other pairs out and give the boxer brief cut a go as well.

Sizing: 9/10

Construction: 8/10

Pros: Cute, very comfortable fabric blend, supportive, and durable.

Cons: If running it may ride up your butt, however, that could have just been my butt…

Beau Briefs recommendation: An awesome new start for a brand, very solid product!

1556_Black_1It’s been a long time since we last saw a collection from PPU. If memory serves me as correct it was August/September 2014. We went all last year without a new sexy collection from them. PPU has done a mix of classic and sexy. This collection is definitely on the sexy end of the spectrum.

I will admit I love it when new collections come out. It’s like Christmas morning to me to see what surprises underwear companies have in store for us. I really love this collection because they really embrace the sexy side of the guy and I don’t feel they went over the top doing it.

Here are a few of the of the pairs in the new collection. Make sure you see the entire collection.

PPU has a new and interesting take on the Jockstrap. The PPU 1550 is a jock but without a waistband! The straps on the pouch loop back directly into the leg straps. This pair has a bit of a fun factor. I don’t ever recall seeing a design like this before. It comes in black or the blue/white. I personally love the blue!

Mesh has always been a part of PPU in some fashion. This collection has a new trunk that is part solid and part mesh. The 1555 trunk has a blue mesh pouch that runs all the way around the pair. The front shows off EVERYTHING but the back has less mesh. It’s available in black and blue. Each pair has the same mesh.

Are you a fan of bikinis? The 1556 Brief mixes a string bikini cut with mesh. Unlike the 1555 boxer this pair has a solid, well almost solid pouch. There is mesh at the top and across the back. I find this pair seriously HOT. It could be anything from a date night pair to a week day work pair. We think sexy underwear should not be just in the bedroom!

PPU 1569 is another take on the jock! PPU has a way of putting their spin on classic pairs. The jock is one they have played with many times. Each time they come up with something great. This jock looks traditional from the back. However, from the front, the elastic waistband doesn’t carry around. The pouch is attached on the corner and over top of the pouch there is no waistband. It ties back in on the hip. PPU just comes up with super creative new designs.

What would a PPU post be without a thong! This is the 1570 Thong. Its very similar to the first jock mentioned above. The blue is very similar. It has a cool block sort of pattern on the pouch. Which is attached to two strings that go around the back and tie in to the back string. It’s a cool design that is definitely going to draw attention.

These are just  a few of the new pairs that PPU has released. There are many more we didn’t cover. It’s great to see a collection after a year of being MIA from the underwear scene. You can find this at your favorite underwear retailer or at Candyman Fashion.

NOTE: UNB Tim does consulting for Candyman Fashion but the opinions in this post are his own.

When Saxx asked me if I wanted to review the new Holiday collection I immediately said YES! They sent me two pairs to review! I was told the new collection was based on the “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and I said SOLD! I had to get these! They send some really great ones. The first pair I am reviewing is the Grey with Reindeer print.

I have tried a few pairs of Saxx over the years. They have an innovative pouch design that is designed to give some great support and cause less issues that would make you adjust. The first time you put on a pouch you kinda go “What the heck?” But there are no tricks or such to get it on. You can wear them for every day or to work out in.

We all know I’m not a big fan of trunks/boxer briefs. I never like the lack of support I get from many pairs. This is not something I had to worry about with Saxx. The innovative pouch design would guarantee me good support. There were a few times that it required some adjustment but it wasn’t bad.

I wore this pair on a day full of errands. I was pleasantly surprised that the legs stayed in place. These were a bit longer than previous pairs I have reviewed. They never rode up or caused issues. The pouch like I said gave me some issues but it Unknown-40wasn’t a constant ongoing issue. The fabric is great with Saxx. It’s a 95% Viscose / 5% Spandex blend.

Let’s talk about the print. I am a big fan of prints and this one is amazing. It definitely was ugly sweater inspired. But to me it wasn’t ugly enough! It’s a lot of fun though. This would be a great pair to wear to a Holiday Party or home for the Holidays. It’s definitely something I haven’t seen in underwear before. Few companies have ever done pairs like this, my hat is off to Saxx!

The sizing is good with Saxx. The best thing to do is look at the sizing chart. The XL they sent fit me pretty well. I had no issues with it. It should be pretty standard with US sizing. They are based out of Canada and most Canadian companies match the US sizing standards pretty well.

Pros:

  • OMG The Print
  • Great fabric
  • Available to wear at work or play (working out and etc)

Cons:

  • Some may not like the print
  • The pouch is different and not everyone may like the fit

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 7
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 10
  • Daily Performance – 8
  • Overall – 8.6

PH-JulianGaviria- ago-2015-0087Ken Wroy has been quite for a while on the underwear scene. I was pleased when they emailed me about two new collections. They are releasing the new Great Skylines and Golden Basics collections! I will say the Skylines really impresses me! The basics on the other hand are welcome as well. We all need amazing basics in our underwear drawer!

The Skyline are my personal favorite! They were inspired by the travels of Ken Wroy all over the world! This is what they had to say about the collection: “We captured the hustle and bustle of New York, the relaxing beaches of Sydney, the charming cafe’s on the streets of Paris, the hidden alleys of High energy Tokyo, and the contrasting rock-royalty of London, in our globetrotter underwear!”

One of the most innovative things is they inverted the sky line to it’s upside down. It adds a bit of interest to the pair with out making it too kitchy. Here are the pairs for each city:

The Golden Basics is part of the fundamental collection. I think basic collections are a lot of time under rated. I love wild colors and prints but there is something said about a pair of black briefs. They are classic and every guy should own a pair. The Golden Basics has a black brief with a gold waistband. This is a great addition to the classic line! The fit of Ken Wroy along with a classic cut makes a winner in my book!

These collections are now LIVE at the Ken Wroy site! We are going to review a pair soon! We hope you go check it out, you may have a new favorite underwear company

Kikini furnished several items from the new Allure collection. One of those pairs is the Bandicoot Jockstrap. This pair is the Kiniki take on the jock strap. The first thing you can count on is that the jock will be very sexy! This definitely is the case and one reason I really liked it!

They say this about the pair: Butt hugging Jock strap style rear with exposed back panel makes this tanga one to remember. They call this jock a tanga. What is a tanga? According to Google it’s “a pair of briefs consisting of small panels connected by strings at the sides” Meaning it’s more like a string bikini. This pair has a solid waist band with a  pouch in front ad the exposed back panel.

This pair was a lot of fun to wear. Its made out of a great fabric and the back has a design I really liked. Unlike a traditional jock with elastic straps this pair has straps made out of material. It may sound odd but look at the picture below. Its as they described, a cut out panel. Its basically like they made a Tanga and cut the middle of the back out. The straps held their place and felt great on. Unlike a traditional jock, this pair didn’t bind or feel too tight in the leg straps.

The Bandicoot line has the same waistband as the Peek-A-Boo line. It’s a silver band with Kiniki written in the band. It’s a really great contrast against the black. To me this make the pair just pop. Its sexy without going too cliché.

I wore this to work and running errands. I really loved the support this pair gave me. The straps as I have mentioned stayed in place. It’s a great pair for being active. There was no binding or issues moving or lifting with this pair on. It can be worn by guys who have an active job or a desk job.

The one issue I had with the pair is the sizing. It did fit me in the size they sent. The issue was the waistband was a bit tight at times. In normal wear it didn’t bother me. When I put it on or took it off I could tell that the waistband was at the limit. So if you’re on the upper end of the chart pay attention.

BodyAware furnished us with a few hot things to review. The Backless Thrasher Brief is one I specifically requested. One of the previous pairs I have from them is the Well Endowed brief and I loved it. This seems to be a similar cut and I had to try it. So, when I opened the package and there it was I got really excited!

When I opened the package and saw the brief I was a little worried about the size. It didn’t seem like it would fit me very well. I mean the pouch is small in the front. I slid it on and the fabric stretched and became very form fitting. The brief is made out of the most amazing fabric. The fabric is 85% nylon/ 15% spandex. The brief is a VERY brief cut. For many out there this is a selling feature of the pair. The back is more of a jock brief than a brief.

I wore this to the UNB Holiday shoot. I knew it would go through it’s paces. You may think a shoot is easy work but it’s on the go the entire time. It really amazed me how well the brief did during the day. After my initial “This isn’t going to fit.” I swear the pair molded to my body and just felt amazing. The entire day it felt like I wasn’t wearing anything. This has to be one of the favorite pairs of this year that I have reviewed.

One feature that I have to talk about is the “unique up-front pouch design.”  BodyAware is known for their great pouches. They give you great support and fit the way it should fit! This pouch reminded me of an ergonomically designed pouch. It didn’t give you too much of a bulge and could be worn to work without being too bulgy. They did an amazing job on the pouch!

The fabric while it felt amazing. I didn’t notice it till the end of the day that it’s mildly see through. I received the black pair and until I went to take it off I didn’t notice how see through it was. If you see the picture here you can see the transparency. It’s not bad but could be another selling point for some of our readers.

The sizing of BodyAware is pretty awesome. This pair I feel even if you bought the smaller size it would stretch and feel great. Sizing on the site runs anywhere from small to XXL. They make underwear for guys of all sizes. We all should be sexy regardless of the size!

Pros:

  • Amazing Pouch
  • Incredible Fabric
  • Fit that molds to your body

Cons:

  • Some guys may not like the skimpy design
  • Some guys may not like the semi transparent fabric.

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 10
  • Sizing – 10
  • Construction – 10
  • Styling – 10
  • Daily Performance – 10
  • Overall – 10

Find the Backless Thrasher Brief on the BodyAware site for $17.50. It is also available in White, Black, Blue, Nude and Choral.

I don’t normally give things 10’s but this has to be one of my favorite pairs I have reviewed in a long time. It hit all the right notes for me. It didn’t want to take it off the fabric felt great and the fit was amazing. If you haven’t tried BodyAware I recommend it. This pair is AWESOME!

9904_13_Andrew Christian furnished a few of the new Black line to review. The new line is one of their newest collections. It is “Our BLACK Collection features a no frills, all sexy brief you can enjoy anywhere from work to the gym and on to your hottest date.” This is the answer to those who wanted a more classic design from Andrew Christian.

I really liked the look of the new Black brief. It’s very classic but not too classic. That may sound odd, but it’s a great classic design with new fabrics. The fabric of the pair is one of my favorite things about the line. It’s a 93% Rayon Made From Bamboo, 7% Spandex. Which may seem a little odd but it fits really well. The rayon is super soft and mix in the spandex for some great support.

The day I wore this was over a work day. As I have said before the new job is a bit more active. So I have to do a lot more than my desk job. Picking a pair of great underwear is even more important. The pouch gave really great support and it fit very well. The classic design had a full back which stayed in place. It moved with me and did an amazing job. This definitely could be a work pair or gym or date night. It’s pretty versatile pair of underwear.

Colors are more classic as well. Some of the previous collections have been a lot of neons and other bright colors. This has red, black and blue. The waistband is a black band with yellow trim and the Black name in the band. Its not classic but not over the top either. I think it’s a nice touch to the pair.

Sizing for Andrew Christian is pretty standard. I can’t remember when I had an issue with a pair being too small. I have found that the XL can fit larger than suggested. Trust me I know this for fact. Their size chart isn’t that crazy either. Its been pretty standard for the last few years.

9904_14_

Pros:

  • Loved the classic design
  • Super soft fabric
  • Classic colors

Cons:

  • Some guys may not like so few colors
  • Other guys may not like the waistband

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 9
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 9

Find the Black Brief at the Andrew Christian site for $25.00.  I definitely will wear this pair pretty often. I have two more pairs from the line to review including a trunk! Look for those soon!

There is a new brand on the market called Matthew Jewson Bodywear. Matthew Jewson is based out of Canada and has a very fun first collection. “Matthew Jewson Bodywear is a Luxury Menswear line that revolves around the basis of well fitting clothing. From there it can be as sexy, fun, or classic as you want, but all the while remaining well fitted to give any man a boost of confidence from the minute they slip a pair on. All of the items you purchase are Handmade in CANADA.”

What is in the first collection? It consists of Underwear, Swimwear, Eroticwear, Pleather and Latex look items. The collection has some very sexy cuts and materials. Matthew is about embracing your sexual side and having fun with it. At least thats the impression I get from the collection. I am liking what I am seeing from the initial collection. I am going to profile one piece from each category.

entice-boxer

The Matthew Jewson Entice Boxer is a boxer that has a bamboo pouch  sounded by mesh. It has the MJ logo on the front. We guarantee you will feel sexy wearing it

contour-swim-jock

The Matthew Jewson Contour Swim Jock. A few brands have done these over the years but I like how Matthew made a jock brief cut in a swim. So many guys want this cut to wear. I’m sure it will be one of the most popular pairs of the swim collection.

combat-complete-set

The Erotic Collection in Matthew Jewson Combat Complete set. They do something I wished more brand would do is sell everything in one collection. The Combat collection contains the ” Combat Harness is made of black elastic giving an easier fit than most leather harnesses and may be worn above the pecs or below and the Combat Holster, inspired by the classic gun holsters, is a mixture of a jock with leg straps featuring a pleather front lifting pouch”

latex-look-thong

The Matthew Jewson Latex Look Thong. Are you a fan of the look of latex? But hate the way you have to care for it? The Latex look collection is made out of a specialty spandex fabric to give you the look of latex without the hassle. The pouch has a lifting strap for maximum lift and the back will accentuate your assets.

One thing you should note is the sizing of the brand. The XL is 34-36. The reason for this is that Matthew “had been working on creating a well-fitting pair of underwear; due to his extra thin stature.” so the sizing starts at 26 and goes through 36 inches.

If you want to check out the initial collection go to the Matthew Jewson site.

Review Kiniki Peek-A-Boo Brief

Side_3428f0b0-27c1-487c-8c86-8d7cbad860e8_1024x1024Kiniki is becoming one of my new favorite brands. The last reviews we did were a lot of fun and they asked us to review some of the new Allure line. Kikini furnished us with this pair and many others to review. The Allure line is super sexy and fun. It has a lot of mesh, sexy designs and skimpy cuts. Mix all that together and you have a really awesome collection. The pair I will be reviewing for this review is the Peek-A-Boo Brief.

The Peek-A-Boo brief is a mix of mesh and solids. The mesh panels are in the pouch and back. This means you will show off all your goods. The black fabric and mesh are super sexy to me. The cut outs with the mesh are made to be shown off. Unfortunately for my review I was the only one who saw the pair on me! This is a total date night pair. Your other half will definitely enjoy the reveal after the date!

The pair has a classic brief cut. Meaning it’s not cut too high or too low. The waistband is the Kikini signature band in metallic silver. The contrast to the black to me is a great touch. I think if they had had a black band it would have gotten lost. The silver just pops and adds something to the pair. The mesh panels make for sexy cut outs.

I wore this pair to a new part time job I have that is a bit more active. I wanted to see how well it would do under an active situation. The fit on these were great. They moved through the day and didn’t bunch or bind. The only issue I had was with the pouch. The seam down the front was a little annoying at times through out the day. I had to adjust so I didn’t rub against it. The back seams didn’t have the same issue.

The sizing in Kikini is pretty spot on. The XL I received fit me well. It was a bit tight but not binding tight. The other pairs I had fit a little looser. However, this didn’t detract from the pair at all. I would say double check the size charts from Kiniki.

Pros:

  • Super sexy design
  • Silver waistband pops
  • Good sizing

Cons:

  • Front pouch can be abrasive
  • Some my not like the cut outs

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 7
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 9
  • Daily Performance – 7
  • Overall – 8.2

Find the Peek-A-Boo Brief on the Kikini site for £18.90. Will I wear this pair again? Yes I definitely will. The seam was only a minor issue to me.
