Cocksox furnished the CX02PR Zebra Swim Brief for review. All opinions are that of the reviewer.

Rating: 8.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 7/10
  • Styling: 9/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Playful prints
  • Dual use as underwear

Cons:

  • Unlined
  • Price

While I have tried a lot of Cocksox underwear, this was my first opportunity to try their swimwear. I would consider the CX02PR swim brief a combo swimwear/underwear.

This swim brief has no drawstring and is unlined. Other than the Polyester/Lycra fabric blend, this is as close to Cocksox underwear as swimwear gets. This of course is not a complaint from me, but something you should be aware of as you consider your purchase.

I’d say this one is for the really bold man who is looking to show off a bit at a pool party or on a beach. The pouch is the Original Cocksox pouch which is designed to lift your package up and out to enhance the look. Combined with an unlined pouch, and a see-through when wet white fabric, this isn’t for the timid. While I personally am a fan, I did deduct some points for these items simply because I know that this one wouldn’t be appealing to a lot of guys.

Thankfully, Cocksox has provided a few color options for this swim brief, and some of those would work better when wet, if you’re not looking to show off EVERYTHING. The fabric is comfortable and the quality is top-notch, as one would expect from Cocksox.

If you’re feeling bold, check this Zebra print swim brief. For those who are not as bold, you may want to check out one of the other color options and/or other styles. The quality is worth it, you will just need to read descriptions to find the right style for your comfort level.

Growing up and in my 20’s, I proclaimed I had an underwear fetish. It was more like a badge of honor than of shame to me. I love underwear that felt great showed off what I had, and was different from everyone else.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately on the direction of UNB and some other things, and I realize that I no longer say I have an underwear fetish. I usually say I have a passion for underwear. What has changed in my life? I still love undies that fit and feel great. I don’t mind the occasional showing off. And which of us don’t mind having something different than everyone else?

Dictionary.com defines a fetish as ” any object or nongenital part of the body that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation.” To me, you need the item, in this case, underwear, to have a gratifying sexual experience. Underwear is nice but not a necessary part of it. However, I will make over someone’s underwear if they aren’t up to par (Just kidding, well kind of, but I suggest new additions).

In my teens/twenties, I had a sexual component to the entire underwear thing. I loved wearing and seeing others in their sexy undies. And there is nothing wrong with incorporating sex and underwear; it can be quite fun! I know from experience!

Flash forward to the start of UNB. At this time, I was starting to look at underwear for its quality, fit, and function. Yeah, I will admit I still like the sexiness factor, but I no longer buy a pair because it looks hot. I have the inner voice come in and say, “You won’t fit in that pouch.” Or “OMG, that’s going to be so uncomfortable after an hour.” Lastly, my all-time favorite, “That pair is designed to be taken off.”

Society has also changed; we no longer have to order of “adult” catalogs to get thongs and other sexy undies. They are available at most underwear stores online and quite a few brick and mortar stores. Next, underwear isn’t gay or straight. We have a ton of straight readers, and they love undies as much as the gay guys and sometimes more. In fact, more straight guys hit me up when thongs started to get big. It was amazing to see. Lastly, we are talking underwear on the blog and social media. We are sharing our loves and hates regarding underwear.

I’ll leave you with this closing thought. Some of you may remember Salvatore on here. He has left the blog, but we are still friends. He’s my straight brother from another mother. We have conversations about underwear the way other guys talk about baseball or football. If you had said me and a straight guy would become friends over underwear and then have amazing conversations, I would have told you were crazy. But this is the world we live in now. I see it keep getting better and better.

BTW if you do have a fetish for undies, I say have fun and enjoy, cause there isn’t anything wrong with it! On the scale of fetishes, undies are pretty tame!

Cocksox furnished the CX68N Trunk Octane for review. All opinions are that of the reviewer.

Rating: 9.0/10

  • Daily Fit: 8/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 9/10
  • Daily Performance: 8/10

Pros:

  • Roomy pouch
  • Bright, bold colors

Cons:

  • Price

If you follow me on social media, you will see that I am not a big fan of trunks. My biggest issue is how tight they feel around my thighs. But, always being one to give things a fair shot, I put on the Cocksox CX68N trunk with an open mind.

The first thing I noticed was of course the constriction around my thighs. That admittedly went away after a few minutes and I could then turn my attention to the amazingly soft fabric. Feeling the soft and smooth fabric against my skin was a nice treat.

This trunk features the Cocksox Contour pouch which is less enhancing than their original pouch. I actually really enjoyed how the contour pouch looked and felt. Having recently reviewed another Cocksox product with the original pouch, I noted that lesser-endowed guys may have some extra fabric left in front…not an issue with the contour pouch.

I really love the bold color of this trunk. While the official color is Octane Orange, the pouch itself is a light blue/turquoise color, which is also used on the trim around one of the legs, yellow is used as an accent on the other leg. Add in the multi-color, comfortable, waistband and you have a fun, playful trunk. The other color options are also a combination of other colors, so it’s a step up from a standard solid, one-color trunk.

If you are a trunk over, this is one you should add to your collection. The roomy pouch and the soft fabric are worth the additional cost compared to other trunks.

PAIR: Cocksox CX68N Trunk – Octane

COLORS: Octane Orange, Jet Black, Velocity Stripe, Crystal Blue

FABRIC: 92% Supplex® 8% Lycra®

SIZES: Small – X-Large

COST: $32.00

N2N Bodywear has been making some of the best gear of its 20+ year history this year. It’s been amazing what they have put out and continue to release. One new item is the Galaxy Mesh Singlet. You guys know I LOVE a singlet, and N2N is high on my list of singlet makers. I have probably 20 singlets from them, and I don’t have a problem. I can quit at any time; I prefer not too.

If you have been a long time N2N fan, you know the Galaxy line was a staple of the brand for a few years. Then it disappeared. Don’t worry; things tend to pop up! The Galaxy Mesh Singlet has been “re-imagined and has returned in a new stretchy, body-hugging performance mesh material. Sexy fit and color palette make this a welcome contender for ANY wrestling match!”

The new Galaxy singlet has three new colors. They are black, burgundy, and royal — all fantastic colors for the line. But, act fast the singlets from N2N sell out quickly!

If you love singlets, like I do, or are new to this, this is a great pair to get. I mean, can you ever have enough singlets? I think not!

PAIR: N2N Bodywear Galaxy Mesh Singlet
COLORS: Black, Burgundy, and Royal
FABRIC: 92% Polyester / 8% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $45.00

It’s Jockstrap Wednesday! One company that knows all about jocks is Jockstrap Central. They have their own amazing line of classic jocks! I love a classic “Bike” style jock. They have become few and far between in the recent years. More guys are looking for alternatives. The JC Jock is a great replacement for the traditional jock.

Here is what Jockstrap Central says about the jock:

Your new old faithful is here! With Bike, Activeman and Flarico all ceasing production of their jockstraps this past year it was time to take matters into our own hands and produce what we consider the ultimate classic sports jock. JC Athletic Classic Jocks are the culmination of our 12 years of experience in the jockstrap business and they’re exclusive to Jockstrap Central. Available in either a 3 inch jockstrap or swimmer.

They’re exactly what you want in your sports jock: They are simple, functional, comfortable, masculine and even understated with a nod to the classic sports jocks of yesteryear. Here’s the details:

The jock is available in white and black. Also, check out the swimmer jocks as well. This jock is $14.95!

Men’s underwear fashion at Deadgoodundies.com in the UK is constantly changing. In the simplest sense this means fresh deliveries virtually every day, but in the case of DGU it also means updates and upgrades for best sellers, the disappearance of others, and this season the return of two international brands to the online store.

Deadgoodundies is very unusual in global sales as well as its local market, stocking many collections that have minimal, or zero, presence even in top city department stores. The website has a loyal following who rely on DGU to provide the latest designer lines, classic men’s boxers and briefs, and carefully chosen male swimwear and loungewear from their favourite names – all in one place.

This month Adam Davies reveals the latest developments, arrivals and returners… He says: “It’s not just the number of seasonal and permanent collections available on Deadgoodundies that’s a hit with consumers, they also appreciate the depth of choice from each designer and the constant refresh of our selection.

“There are a lot of great new male underwear brands out there but not every one is right for the website (https://www.deadgoodundies.com/), usually because there isn’t enough choice in men’s micro briefs and thongs, sometimes none at all because the whole range is boxer briefs. Our customers trust us to find them the best men’s underwear in the world, in the shapes and fabrics we know they like.”

SUKREW BUBBLE THONG £15.99

Sukrew is a British brand dedicated to sensual men’s underwear – and boy is it popular on DGU. This body conscious, enhancing collection develops constantly, most recently with the Bubble Thong in Lincoln yellow, Dover blue and Garrison red, followed swiftly by the Sukrew Lincoln, Dover and Garrison Jockstraps (also £15.99) using the same silky microfibre. Sukrew adapts rapidly to consumer demand, recently launching pure cotton designs which also received a warm welcome.

ERGOWEAR X4D BIKINI BRIEF £28.00

The original ergonomic underwear brand on DGU, Ergowear has re-engineered its best-selling X3D designs completely to create the new X4D bikini brief, thong and mini boxer (all in black, white, pastel Gatsby pink or divine Chrysler grey). Any ‘update’ can worry diehard fans of existing designs, but X4D has gone down well at Deadgoodundies because it is familiar but sufficiently different, with very body-friendly seams, the brief and thong are made from a single piece of fabric to guarantee absolute smoothness, and proportions in different sizes have been reworked to tailor the fit even better.

MANSTORE M800 ULTRA TANGA £25.00

Always wickedly sexy, Manstore is a guaranteed hit in the UK and with DGU customers all over the world, for one-off designs and seasonal colours in favourite ranges. M800 has always led the way but the philosophy has changed – previously black and white were available all year round, topped up with fresh versions twice a year, but now all M800 is seasonal so it can run out! Silky translucent M800 shapes include a Tower String, Ultra Jock, Cheeky Brief, Hot Pants, Micro Pants, Ero Pants, Low Rise Brief and Hot String Pants. The latest colours are bright yellow along with a black and yellow print called Virus.

ANDREW CHRISTIAN RETURNS

Andrew Christian’s instantly recognisable, sexy designs have returned to Deadgoodundies – and gained instant attention from current customers. First to the top of the favourites list is the Flare Lace Almost Naked Brief £24.00 (https://www.deadgoodundies.com/andrew-christian-flare-lace-almost-naked-brief) but it’s still early days…

IMPETUS – COMING VERY SOON

Another brand revisiting Deadgoodundies is Impetus from Portugal, due to land any day now. One of the reasons behind this return is fond memories among many DGU customers of Impetus’s seam free underwear. So of course the new line-up will include the Impetus Cotton Seamless Brief (83% cotton, 10% polyamide, 7% elastane in black, white, navy or grey £13.00). Watch the NEW IN page for the first delivery of repeatable styles with lots more to follow for spring 2020.

We just posted about underwear for bigger guys and here is a company that is listening to its customers. I got a singlet from Gruff Pup that I loved but it was a little tight. If they had a size bigger, It would have been perfect. Wait no more! They now are making their most popular singlets in XXL, which is amazing.

Sizing for singlets is a little different than Underwaer. It’s not just the waist size you’re looking for but also height. Being tall you will need a larger size and if you’re like me, being tall (over 6’2″), you need an XL or XXL. If you don’t have that size the shoulder straps are super tightened will dig in.

I”m excited by this and will be checking them out more often now that they have a larger size! Check out all the singlets at Gruff Pup.

Men in swim briefs or ‘swim briefs’ are far from a unique concept, especially in the gay community. Fit men, showing off their bodies, packages, and confidence are likely to be in most gay Instagram feeds. I have always dreamed of being one of these men.

You see, there is something so effortless and intoxicating about a man in a swim brief. The summertime flirtatiousness that women have often enjoyed, paired with a visible display of masculinity was hard to deny. Of course, my love all things underwear did help! The idea that a man could wear lycra briefs out and about in the sun all day and be considered accept… well, sign me up! Just one problem, I’m sporting more of a keg than a six-pack.

I never looked like any of the guys I saw who wore swim briefs. I had purchased one here and there over there years and wore them under swim trunks, or secretly slipped into a quiet hot tub at a hotel pool when no one was around. However, the thought of wearing them confidently, in public, was out of the questions.

Dealing with my insecurities, and going through a challenge of support and struggling with body image, I can see now how this could have only ever been a fantasy. Well, recently – I had the ability to tackle my fears and insecurities at the most amazing and safe place… Provincetown Bear Week. With the comfort and support of the bear community, I knew I had my chance to accomplish a long-time dream finally… a swim brief tan line!

With several options packed, I made my way to the spirited enclave at the tip of Cape Cod. Aboard a ferry full of men of all shapes, sizes, ages, and colors – the week felt hopeful and exciting. For those who have never been, Provincetown (or PTown as it is commonly known) is quaint New England community which thrives on summer and sea breezes. Isolated with its remote geography, the LGBT community and locals alike have found refuge here as a place to be themselves. Added to this, one-week fo the summer is designated as bear week. Still coming to terms with ‘labels’ – as I don’t find many suitable, I do know the bear community to be more open and body positive.

Happy to be in this most unique and positive vibe, I felt the strength to finally be the swim brief man I have always wanted to be. The first day, I had plans to go to the Provincetown Inn during the day to hang out at the pool. This is commonly known as “bear soup” – which I soon learned was a very fitting term. As the shallow end of the pool was wall to wall full of thick men drinking drinks and having a gay old time.

I arrived on my bike, in short shorts and a witty tank top. Under my shorts, I wore a cute Andrew Christian swim brief, complete with anchors in red and blue. Walked through the see of lounge chairs, I found a spot and was in awe of all the attractive men in their skimpy swimwear. I almost felt out of place in shorts. If I ever needed a push – this was it. The shorts came off, and my swim brief clad booty was exposed, my thick thighs on display for all to see. My insecurities still on high alert, but I soon received my first smile and then a compliment on my swim brief, and before I knew it… I forgot why I had been insecure. A few cocktails later, I was enjoying the cool temperatures of the pool and the comfort of my swimsuit.

I could not have been happier at how I felt. I soon was wearing swim briefs without the shorts as though it was nothing. I always had found the swim brief and shoes look to be flirty and fun, and I was so excited to wear it myself. By the time the week was out, I had worn 6 or 7 swim briefs without repeating, and even purchased a new one from a shop in town. While I love shopping online, the thrill of going into a store and pick out a cute swim brief off the rack, and slip it on in the dressing room and then take it home was exhilarating! (It was a Jack Adams brand by the way and super cute and comfortable)

As well, by the week’s end, I finally had a swim brief tan line — the proof and sign of bravery that I laid out in my swim brief in the sun. No longer were my thighs pale and sad – they glowed with bronze like the rest of me, and my bum was proudly pale under the protection of the lycra.

Since PTown, I’ve found many opportunities to go out sporting my swim brief – from other bear pool parties as well as gay pools in my area. I have never felt so liberated and proud of myself. I am trying to avoid the word confidence because I still don’t equate my efforts to being confident. However, I feel I am proud of being myself, and that is cause for celebration.

So, to all of my undies lovers who are too nervous about wearing the swimwear you wish you could, take it from a long time fearful big guy… be yourself, and all that will be seen is that. I am who I am, and that is what matters.

I hope you all go out and take advantage of the end of the season sales and get yourselves swim briefs for the rest of summer or your winter getaway! Or just an afternoon in your back yard! Be the brave person you are. I was – and so glad for it!Cheers to summer and tanned thig

It’s a harsh world out there in men’s underwear if you’re a 38 waist size or larger. A lot of brands only make up to 36-inch waist, which leaves a lot of brands out of reach for many tall and big guys. I”m 6’4″ and a 36 waist looks natural on me (when I”m down to that size). Anything smaller and I look like I haven’t eaten in a week.

Being a bigger guy, I can help you find good undies that will fit you and be super sexy. I am not a bigger guy that likes boxer briefs or trunks. I want something with a lot more support. Most trunks/boxer brief just let things flop around and drive me crazy all day.

When I was growing up, I was a tall twink, very tall, and thin. I could wear whatever I wanted. As I got older and the metabolism slowed down, the waist size went up. But, my love of bikinis and smaller briefs didn’t go away. I love the fit and comfort a pair of bikinis offer.

So where do big and tall guys go for great undies? Never fear I am here for you. Here are the underwear that fit me and I think will suit you guys as well:

Cocksox CX01 – This is my go-to bikini. It fits great, fantastic fabric and one of my top 5 pouches of all time. The XL will fit up to 42-inch waists.

N2N Bodywear – When I first started UNB back in 2008, N2N began to make XL undies. Now a decade later they still make them. It’s incredible they do because they have some super hot designs. Andrew doesn’t let bigger guys go without amazing undies

Ergowear – Do you notice a theme? All the brands have amazing pouches. Ergowear has never let me down. The only thing I don’t like is the Tanga/bikini that can ride up, but that’s just a design preference of mine. Plus they now have four different pouches. Look at their size guide, which is one of the best in the industry.

BearSkn – They specifically are the only company on the list that makes underwear for bigger guys. I have tried several of their pairs, and it’s well-made underwear. The fabric is stretchy and super comfy. In the last year or so they have been adding in more prints, which are fantastic. I wish they had a bikini or jock!

If you are like me, a bigger guy let us know what brand you love and that fits you!
