We used to go with your favorite color but so many love so many different colors. The top three colors are Black, Blue and Red. By far they out do all the other colors. White and Green are liked by about 30% of you guys and the rest of the color round out.

Here’s the break down of colors from least to most popular.

I think I speak for all guys on the podcast, we have so much fun doing the shows. Whether it’s a group show with all hands on deck or a Brief Tale sharing how one guy fell in love with undies. I try to come up with great topics you guys like to hear for each show. However, you guys never cease to amaze me with topics you want us to talk about. I want to really have great shows and have great convos.

Just fill out the form below and give ideas and you can stay completely anonymous.

It’s been a while since we posted about the UNB Patreon. We started this to help cover the costs of running the blog and morphed it into the Podcast. First, the podcast has gained a great following, and we have so much fun doing the show. It’s been great having guys really connect without guys and share the stories of real guys out there. We have a lot planned for this year and will bring you guys a lot of podcasts. We also want to know what you want to hear on the show.

Why do you have a Patreon?

Great question; as I said, it’s not cheap to do a podcast. First, there are hosting costs for the podcasts. Then there are equipment costs for improving our sound (such as mics, editing Softwear, and other equipment). Being an entrepreneur, aka underemployed, it’s not easy to cover all these costs.

How much does it cost?

We have levels as low as just one dollar a month. You can go up to $10 and we are thinking adding some hight levels with some amazing rewards.

What benefits do I get?

First, you get the shows before the public. Second, you get the pre and post-shows. Where we talk about everything and anything. Plus, we talk about SEX LOL, occasionally. We have so much fun on these, talking about whatever we can. It’s worth it just for the pre-show. We want to add more benefits but want some feedback on what you guys want. Note, you will have your own RSS feed you need to paste into your favorite podcast player.

How do I join?

Just go to the UNB Patreon Page. It only takes a few steps to sign up and enjoy. Any questions let me know!

These thongs are made of a knit seersucker fabric. The rough, wrinkled texture of the thin seersucker offers a cool touch. The frontal cup is slightly larger to supplement the cloth-like material’s lack of elasticity. Parts, including the inseam joint section, are reinforced with bar tack stitching since they tend to be exposed to a lot of force. Enjoy the cool color tone and tight fit associated with Japanese-themed underwear. Get this thong at the Toot website.

In collaboration with Men and Underwear – The Shop

As the underwear industry grows, brands and their designers seek alternatives to the classic cotton blend fabrics used for ages in the construction of men’s underwear. New technologies, extensive research but also a need for innovation as the industry evolves, contribute to the use of new fabrics. The most popular of the all is definitely modal. Modal is a semi-synthetic made from pulp from beech trees. It is a type of rayon but made from particularly high-quality cellulose. Many have called it “the underwear fabric” because of its increasing use in the industry and its properties; modal is breathable, lightweight, absorbs water better than cotton, it has a silky feel and is naturally resistant to pilling. Modal was originally developed in Japan in the 1950s. Today, the biggest exporter of this type of fabric is China, while most of it is produced by the Austrian company Lenzing AG, which has the trademark for the fabric; its brands include Lenzing Modal, China Modal, and Formatex. Apart from Modal, Lenzing has trademarked two, even lighter, versions of the material, which are called MicroModal and Modal Air. These two fabrics are an even finer knit making the garment softer and more lightweight. Below you can find a selection of products made from modal, micro-modal and modal blend with cotton, which we think represent this trend best.

CODE 22 – Thrust Brief

The first pair of underwear we show you, and one that we think represents this trend quite well is the Thrust Briefs by CODE 22. This is a contemporary style, low rise men’s bikini briefs with sporty stripes on either side of the pouch. These briefs are made from a super soft modal, cotton and elastane fabric, that feels amazing on the skin. In this underwear, micro modal offers you the comfort you need for everyday wear and agility for sports. You will feel like wearing nothing at all!

Barcode Berlin – Briefs Oliver – Black with Yellow

The second pair of underwear in the list is the Oliver Briefs, one of the most stylish briefs of the season by Barcode Berlin. These briefs are made from three distinctive fabrics: ribbed cotton, modal and elastane. Modal here is used for its softness and breathability and as lining for the pouch. The brand used it also as a design element, giving it a dashing colour to stand out from the rest of the garment.

Andrew Christian – CoolFlex Modal Locker Room Jock w/ Show-It

Apart from briefs, modal is used in the construction of other underwear styles such as this jock brief by Andrew Christian, the Show-It Locker Room Jock. The American brand used the fabric to add to the enhancing features that this jock has. This way the pouch expands to make extra room while the inside pocket offers the right support without restrictions. In this case modal was used for being stretchy, allowing the underwear to still maintain the second skin feel it was designed to have.

Marcuse – Brighten Thong

Another one modal specimen, is the Brighten Thong by Marcuse. This thong is a sexy, low rise, modal thong perfect for every day wear! The fabric is a modal blend with a generous amount of elastane. Here modal prevails by giving you incredible comfort, softness and minimal hold. For this reason, the brand added a wide waistband to hold the underwear firmly on the body.

Adam Smith – Boyshorts – Black

The last pair of underwear in the list is the B-Shorts by Adam Smith, a pair of low rise trunks designed for every day wear. The fabric in this case is micro modal, that feels like silk against the skin. The brand used micro modal for its breathability, agility and lightness to make it easier to wear all day without feeling any discomfort.

The Apollo underwear series is inspired by Olympians and made for champions. Designed to perform with you whether you’re going for gold or just breaking a sweat.

How appropriate I write this on Thursday, as the ultimate throwback Thursday. One of the biggest highlights of UNB has been going to Vegas and spending time with people in the industry. I would meet them at the show, and we even did a Meet & Greet at the Luxor for many years. But over the years, the number of brands has decreased from a high of 40 to 8 the last time I went to Project (you remember the one I went to the Hospital, ugh).

Shortly after my last trip to Vegas, COVID took over the world, and the Aug 2020 and Feb 2021 shows were canceled. But, they decided to put on the August 2021 show. I booked my hotel and airfare back in May, thinking, “Hey, it’s hot girl summer, we’ll be back to normal, no masks, and it will be a somewhat normal trip to Vegas.” Well, that was WRONG. Cases in lower Nevada are a national hotspot for Covid. I have been double vaxed, so I should be good, but I know three people who were double vaxed who caught covid.

As the list looks right now there are about 4 brands that I will possibly see and I haven’t found out who are in suites yet. I think COVID put an end to the underwear brands going to trade shows. Usually, I go all out and do a ton of amazing posts for Magic but my last few months have been rough on me. I had a health scare that occupied me from May till July. I have since been given the all-clear but for weeks it was on my mind. But it Made me think, I am going to run a lot of the Survey results over the four days I am gone. There may be only 2 posts a day. Because I hope I can relax some, but if I’m in my hotel room destressing, I may post a few new posts, wifi willing.

My plan for the show is:

  • Go so the Show that Monday and see what’s up. I will probably be done that day.
  • Go to some seminars on growing a business, I mean it can’t hurt since I’m registered
  • Mask up everywhere! Yeah I’m Going to be that guy in the casinos and I don’t care.
  • Try to have some fun and relaxation after my last horrible trip to Vegas.
  • Meet up with some local friends and hopefully one of our new podcasters (You’ll hear more about that later)

I will do a follow up and let you know how it went. But being a store gives me more access and makes things a lot easier. Registering to be press was a pain in the @ss, and they always lost my registration. Now as a retailer/buyer I get right in and have no issues.

John Sievers is one of those lines that I feel is under the radar. It’s well known in certain circles of the underwear world but in others it’s unknown. The John Sievers line is know for it’s amazing pouch. We have covered the line for years. I have quite a few pairs as well and enjoy them immensely. If you love a great pouch, this is the pair for you and if you pack a little in the front, this line is definitely for you. It’s made so you feel so comfy no matter what your size. You hang free and feel amazing all day.

The new line is the Stretch Mesh Natural Pouch line. It comes in two styles, a brief and boxer briefs. Sorry thong fans, there aren’t any in this line. However, the line does has several thongs! The colors of this collection are not in your face but a little on the classic side and I like the three they picked.

Crafted in sports mesh for the very first time, the John Sievers Natural Pouch Brief will forever change the way you think about your underwear. Unlike the old fashioned pouches on most other briefs, the revolutionary John Sievers “Natural Pouch” has a special, deeply-contoured shape that conforms perfectly to your male anatomy. The perforated mesh material is lightweight with 4-way stretch that forms to every muscle while remaining breathable and comfortable

If you are a certain age, you remember when Speedos (and I mean the brand Speedo) was everywhere at the Olympics. Swimmers always wore them on the starting block. Water Polo players wore two of them at once. Divers always left the board in the small tight swimwear. It was what inspired me to get my first “Speedo.” It was during an Olympic year that I got my very first pair.

I want to say it was the 90’s/early 2000’s that the swimmers moved away from the Speedo to the body suits and finally the jammers. Granted I love the jammers, as so many know I”m a fan of spandex in may forms and shapes. It’s just not the same seeing the guys lined up on the block all in speedos. Plus, the swimming usually had more air time than any other sport that guys wore speedos.

So where can you find the speedos? The first place that is getting more air time is Diving. Divers have never given up the speedo for any other style of swimwear. If you were just watching the Tokyo Games you saw Tom Daley and his diving partner Matty Lee snag the gold for Synchronized Diving. The Speedos they wear (not all are official speedo brands some are Arena and more) are more competition cut, meaning they are a bigger cut. And really all the swim briefs are that size, sorry guys no skimpy gear.

The other place you see Speedos is in Water Polo, but you don’t really see the guys out of the water that much. And I have yet to learn the rules of Water Polo. It’s a super hard sport, Try playing a game and having to tread water for an hour and see how you feel.

Do you guys miss the Speedos? Should Swimmers bring it back? Share your thoughts.
