andrew-christian-twerk

Andrew Christian is proud to announce the release of their newest video, “Twerk Off”, a celebration of one of the world’s most popular dance trends, as well as their newest “Trophy Boy” collection.

With the addition of the term into the Oxford English Dictionary, the dance trend of “twerking” has reached an unprecedented level of notoriety. In recent months, twerking (defined as ” thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance”) has taken the internet by storm, with both men and women the world over bending over and showcasing their skills. It later made its way into mainstream music, with pop stars’ attempting to rival these web videos with varying levels of success.

The boys of Andrew Christian have already developed a reputation for delivering some of the steamiest viral videos on the web. Their newest “Trophy Boy” collection is a new line of men’s underwear designed specifically for those with a larger-than-life endowment. Trophy Boy underwear does more than just support these massive manhoods, it showcases them for the world to see and appreciate.

Many of the Andrew Christian models, including popular faces like Jon Varak, Jeffrey Hawkins, Jonathan Meyers, and Parker Dailey, have been fans of twerking since the beginning. So when it came time to celebrate the Trophy Boy collection on video, it seemed only appropriate for twerking to be involved. Both the dance and the underwear are designed to showcase the guys’ more desirable assets, and “Twerk Off” celebrates that fact the way that only Andrew Christian can.

The video is available to watch NOW at AndrewChristian.com. In less than 24 hours, the video has already accumulated almost 30,000 hits. Fans of the video can shop the Trophy Boy collection in stores or online.

xtremen-51322-sport-boxerLonger sports boxers are becoming one of the big trends in the world of men’s underwear. Xtremen Underwear is a new company that has come on the market. I haven’t seen them out at stores just yet, but they will be shortly! They are a company we saw in Vegas. The new line is not a huge line but for a new brand it’s a pretty good start.

The pair we are profiling is the 51322 Sport Boxer. As you can see it’s a main color with a side of sports mesh. It’s a really stylish and fun pair. Longer Boxer Briefs are a new style of underwear that I’m really liking lately. Pairs like this just make me lie them even more.

Sometime around middle school I became very interested in the ad circulars in the Sunday paper. Sears, Dillard’s, JC Penney, and K-Mart were always having sales on men’s underwear. Often the photo was just five boxers in a package, but if you were lucky maybe they’d show an empty pair of briefs floating against the background. Then there were those times, those lucky Sundays, when if you’d hunt long enough you’d find a photo of an actual man in underwear. Maybe he’d have a towel around his neck like he was about to take a shower or a mug in his hand like he was just waking up in his nylon store-brand bikinis that came in a five color assortment. He was always staring off in the distance confidently, masculine, yet sexually inert.

I began to imagine stories behind these images. Did the model feel silly stripping down in front of the camera crew? Does he normally wear nothing but striped briefs the house? Did they let him keep the underwear, and did he put them on for his girlfriend later that night? Why couldn’t he be holding a beer and winking at the camera? Why wasn’t he sitting at the edge of a bed, leaning back on his arms, face downcast, vulnerable, yet offering himself to the viewer’s gaze?

I had developed a thing for underwear. I had grown up wearing Hanes and Fruit of the Loom tightie whities. In my adolescent mind it was something no one else saw, so why would you go out and buy special ones? Like those ones that were tomato red and barely covered your hips and probably showed the outline of your penis and probably felt so light and yet so snug…

When I went off to college I began buying underwear for myself. It was always a nice little charge of energy when I put one of my special pairs on. This felt right. Over the years I’ve tried more and more kinds and brands and cuts and I still can’t wait to get home and open a new package. Recently I decided to put my love of underwear out there a bit more (in an anonymous internet kind of way) and embrace what I’ve spent years thinking about. My collection continues to grow and I love hearing other guys talk about underwear.

Underwear, to me, signifies a man’s assertion that he is a sexual being. A guy may be a mild-mannered desk jockey, but those leopard print jockeys under his pants tell otherwise. They mean that he tries harder than ratty boxers with the elastic worn out. They mean he thinks about what it’s like to undress in front of someone, to invite someone to look and to touch. It means that he opened up his drawer this morning and thought, “I want to feel sexy today”. He headed out the door with that little extra charge of energy in his step. And that’s what I love about underwear. Let’s get into this.

hero-needed

We need a hero. A hero that is a champion for men’s underwear. We are at a point where men’s underwear is going mainstream. Meaning over the last few years more guys gay and straight have been paying attention to underwear. Heck, we have more underwear companies then anytime I can remember in the history of underwear.

When I say we need a champion, I mean we need a spokes model for men’s underwear.  A famous athlete, actor or entertainer that will step up and show the public  that great men’s underwear is here to stay.

In the 70s and 80s we had Jim Palmer sporting Jockey bikinis in mainstream magazines. They used to run in People and I think Newsweek. For those of you not familiar with Mr. Palmer, he was a Major League Baseball star with Midwest all American looks. Having such a sports star in an underwear ad gave men’s underwear a sort of legitimacy and not put on some back page ads.

Flash-forward about 10 years and we have Marky Mark aka Mark Walberg in Calvin Klein boxer briefs. The newest hybrid style of the day.  This ad was even featured in Times Square in NYC. This was the last time we had a major market campaign featuring a celebrity. It’s time for a new underwear hero

This came about due to a conversation I had with @ undieluvr on twitter. Her suggested that Underarmour create a sports thong and have an athlete promote it. It got me thinking that we need this for all undies.  It’s time to bring great undies to the masses. Showing a major celebrity in them will only do this.

We currently have stars promoting underwear. The ones stars are David Beckham, Mario Lopez and Tim Tebow.

  • David Beckham is no stranger to promoting underwear. He’s done several shoots for Armani before he started his own line at H&M. His line is called David Beckham Bodywear and is available exclusively at H&M Retailers.  Also this was one of the first men’s underwear Super Bowl commercials.
  • Mario has endorsed his own line Rated M. The line has been out a few years. Unlike David Beckham’s line, Rated M is available at many online and brick and mortar retailers. It has been around for about two years.
  • Tim Tebow was the spokes person for Jockey. He was to be the new Jim Palmer, but he was never photographed in the Underwear. This was brought up to Jockey and they said they were fine with him not wearing the underwear in ads. His announcement had the most comments on our Facebook page.

We need to have a guy come out of the underwear closet and say that they LOVE underwear. It doesn’t matter if he’s a sports star, Movie star or entertainer.

It makes me think who would be the perfect guy for the job. It would need to be someone mainstream to catch the attention of the general public and making them consider buying great undies.  Some suggestions would be

modern-heros

  • Singer – Adam Levine – Lead Singer for Maroon5. He’s no stranger to getting naked and showing skin
  • Athlete – Eli Manning – The QB for the NY Giants. He’s got the wholesome look of Jim Palmer and a personality that could be great on camera
  • Actor – Matt Bomer – He’s been in Magic Mike so he’s been seen in underwear on film. He wore a thong in Magic Mike
  • Athlete – Michael Phelps – The Olympic gold medalist swimmer. He’s been seen in Speedos for millions on TV and is comfortable in them
  • Athlete – Colin Kaepernick – The Super Bowl QB for the San Francisco 49’ers who just appeared nude in the ESPN Magazine body issue.

These are just a few suggestions. I would love to hear who you guys think we should have as our Underwear Spokesman? Who has the body and the personality to speak the virtues of men’s undies?

clever-eros-latin-briefMesh is a trend in men’s underwear that just keeps going. When it popped up a few years ago I expected it to take off then guys move on the next thing in underwear. Flash forward 3 years and the mesh trend is still going strong. Clever is one of those brands who has taken to the trend and made it really fun. They aren’t making just sheer underwear for the sake of making it they put some thought behind it.

Last year they released the Kansai Latin brief. It was super fun the black pair had a purple waistband and the white had a silver Waistband. They have continued this line with the new Eros Latin Brief now with updated waistband colors. The Black now comes in a black waistband with a bright blue Clever name showing. The while has a blue/teal waistband and grey writing. These two colors really make the pairs pop. The blue on the the black pair is something that is carried over into other pairs in the new collection as well.

Brand info

  • Has contoured pouch
  • Stitching of the pouch accents the pouch
  • Fabric – 88% Nylon, 12% Spandex
  • Fabric has solid and mesh so it won’t show off everything
  • Available in White and Black.

If you are a fan of mesh underwear we think this is a must have for your collection. You will be able to find this at retailers online and in stores shortly!

Color to me is one of the most important things in underwear. It allows us to show our personality, even when we have to wear a uniform or suit to work. It adds a personal level to the underwear we wear. We know this because we have heard from you guys that you wear your navy suit to work and a pink jock or purple brief under your suit pants.

Are there any colors off limits in men’s underwear? We may have our own personal limits but companies make underwear in every color of the rainbow. We thought we would share 5 pairs with great color on the market now!
