If your’e a fan of C-IN2 you no doubt know the Hand Me Down line. If you don’t know the line, its a line that is made with a “distressed” fabric to feel like it’s been handed down. I was skeptical about the line but I tried a pair and it felt really great. It lived up to what they said. It was like I put on a pair i have had for years.

The new refreshed line features a Charcoal and Grey stripes. When I talked to Greg at C-IN2  a few weeks ago, I wondered if the line would be too dark. But after seeing the pics on the site. The colors are: Blazer (orange), Dark Dizzy (red/maroon), Wax Pear (green/yellow) and Wink (Aqua/blue). The names brands come up with just are amazing lately. I am loving the creativity they are using.

They are in the usual styles you would expect from C-IN2, but the one style I don’t remember seeing is the Boxer. Granted, many of our readers don’t care for boxers but it could be great for lounging at home.

Should you get some C-IN2 Hand Me Down? I say yes without a doubt. It’s some of the most comfy undies I have owned and I love the stripes. Find these and more at the C-IN2 site.

WInningselfieWhat got you into modeling?
I’m naturally enthusiastic and ambitious, and no one can market themselves better than I can.  I love being in front of the camera, and I love inspiring people to make healthy choices.  The two go hand in hand.  Modeling is a natural extension of my many interests.
So tell us about the XVII contest, what made you enter?
My partner suggested I enter the contest.  I had made the decision 18 months prior to bulk up, gain some weight, and lift regularly.  For me, lifting is a lot like meditation; it helps one find discipline.  I was truly surprised when I learned that the folks at XVII had chosen me as one of their finalists.  I’m a very competitive person, so once I was in, I brought everything I had.  I tried to separate my ‘selfie’ from the crowd by posing in a suggestive setting (the bedroom).  A family member suggested I use mirrors to give viewers a better “perspective”, and I did just that!  Fans of XVII and my personal friends all got to like and share the photo for points.  Probably the most important aspect of the contest was gaining the participation of local businesses and groups on Facebook.  Without their help I never would have won.
Did you think you would be the winner?
Truly, I was very doubtful.  The final round wasn’t based on ‘likes’ or Facebook ‘shares’, only the judgment of the people at XVII.  Furthermore, each of the finalists had a very different look (and a lot of enthusiastic supporters!).  When I got the phone call I was actually at work, and had spent the entire day on pins and needles waiting for them to call the contest.  I still can’t believe I’ve won, but I’m running with the momentum of the victory.
What are your favorite underwear brands?
Aside from XVII (which are super comfy and supportive), I really like bright colors and interesting cuts.  PPU have an awesome (and provocative) product.  I love wearing Michael Kors or Versace to work; they make me feel a little more luxe throughout the day, and Michael Kors breathe really well.  I can’t wait to receive my XVII swag package, though.  They sent me $300.00 in product and I really can’t wait to try every pair.
Any brands you want to try?
Honestly, I don’t know if there are too many brands I haven’t tried.  We’ve probably had 200 or 300 pairs of underwear in the last year.  We love underwear in my household like a lot of people love bags or shoes.
Which brands would you love to model for?
I think my dream shoot would be for Givenchy or Tom Ford, but I really relate to the clean, modern aesthetics of Versace and the androgynous masculinity of Armani.  Who knows– my future isn’t written yet; there’s a lot of work out there for me to earn.
What do you have planned for the future?
I’ve always got tricks up my sleeve.  In the short term, I’m getting out to raise money for a few charity organizations, including the Apocalyptic Ball here in Denver, which raises money for HIV/AIDS prevention.  Long term, I’m going to pursue my ambitious, tighten up my portfolio, and work hard to earn new clients.  This win is really just the beginning of a much larger story.

If you read this blog you know that underwear should be a lot of  fun. We all have underwear for every day wear and some of us have underwear to wear to the gym. Those are pairs that are conservative and most guys wouldn’t look twice at in the locker room. But what about those pairs you want to show off and make a statement?

PPU has a pair just for that! The brief, which I call cut out brief, but they call it the Sneak Peek brief. This is a brief cut, where the front is not attached to the elastic but left open. Its a new design is set off by the pink piping around the openings and pouch. So there is no way not to draw attention to yourself when wearing it.

It’s super fun and a really fun design. Where would you wear this? I could see many of our readers wearing it under their suits at work. It amazes me what you guys wear to work! And I say more power too you, wear something that suits your personality. Also this could be great for a night out the pink waistband peeking over jeans will draw attention and maybe some comments. The last part is on a date night. Let’s face it if you wear this pair something tells me you want to show it off.

This pair is also available in Turquoise and Grey. But I think the Pink/Black pair is my favorite. The pink just pops against the black fabric.  If you want to show off your undies why not wear a pair that will draw the eye! You should be able to find this at your favorite retailer but if not you can find it on Amazon. A tip, anytime you want a pair of Candyman and can’t find it, Amazon is your friend and you can find all pairs on there!

Aussiebum

And the winner is… AUSSIEBUM!

That’s right friends, you voted and with 48% of the vote my 300th pair of underwear is AussieBum.  I can’t thank you all enough for helping to make this decision.  It was quite fun to allow someone else make the choice.  I am not at all disappointed with the choice from AussieBum either.  Once the votes were calculated my only job was to choose the pair I wanted from the AussieBum.com website.  I actually let my boyfriend make the choice.  He chose the “LineUp” Black Brief.  This style features an oversized waistband with the logo randomly written throughout.  The overall design of this pair is simply fun to wear.  My boyfriend had no complaints either.

Since adding this pair to my collection I have added an additional 22 pair.  I am now proudly boasting a collection of 322 pair and always growing.  It is hard not to keep adding more when the deals and clearance sales run rampant throughout the internet.  Each time I get an email from CheapUndies.com I have the fight off the urge to buy, buy, buy.  Truth be told I’m running out of space in my drawer of underwear.  I am currently trying to figure out where to stash more pairs.

I know I’ll continue to add to my collection and I encourage all to do the same.  With each new design or style that the designers put is our opportunity to keep our collection current and fun.  Let’s face it…our love underwear centers on fun, for us and our partners. Thank you again for helping to make the 300th choice.

undergear-coversI’ve been infatuated with men’s underwear and swimwear from a very young age – at least since I realized there were options other than white Hanes briefs. Growing up I loved watching the men’s Olympic swimming and diving events when Speedos were still the uniforms de rigueur. Alas, my Southern upbringing was so white bread neither me nor any of my classmates were allowed to wear either Speedos at swim meets or even colored briefs in the locker room. Yes, our parents mandated that we wear swim trunks and tighty-whities. No exceptions. Thus, I had to wait until college before I could explore my interest in other types of underwear and swimwear.

Once liberated from the prying eyes of parents (and free to do my own laundry), I went crazy. Mail order was a godsend, and the Undergear Catalog was like crack in the 1990s. The internet opened another shopping avenue in the 2000s, providing access to an even larger number of designers and online store fronts from around the world. Underwear from England? Check. Swimwear from Australia? You bet!

These days I own everything from posing straps to boxers. I try not to confine myself to one style, manufacturer, color, or material. I like to remain open-minded. Thus, anything that screams “different” interests me: a different pattern, a different cut, a different style, a new concept. As an adult, I’ve worn just about everything. Except for white. I refuse to wear white underwear unless I’m wearing white dress pants, and I have one (and only one) pair of white boxerbriefs reserved for that rare occasion.

Lately I’ve become fond of modal. It’s exciting to see more designers incorporate this fabric, given its softness, breathability, and sturdiness. I’m also excited to see more designers incorporate patterned fabrics, a trend we haven’t really seen since Brut made bikinis in the late 1970s.

Last year I joined UNB’s focus group. Since then, Tim has periodically asked if I’d write for the blog. My work had been busy, so I declined. Recently, though, my work schedule became less hectic, and I now can devote time to occasionally writing for UNB. My personal goal is to contribute both interviews and feature stories.

Finally, for curiosity’s sake, I completed an updated inventory of my current “furnishings.” Here’s the breakdown (subject to change if someone has an Independence Day sale):

  • 20 boxers
  • 17 boxerbriefs/trunks
  • 10 compression shorts
  • 97 briefs/bikinis
  • 34 jocks
  • 6 K’mando pouches
  • 40 thongs/g-strings/posing straps
  • 34 speedos
  • 5 square cut swim trunks

bryce-journeyMy name is Bryce and I am 30 years old. I grew up in a small, conservative, religious community. So obviously, my mom bought my tighty whities growing up. In high school, I started to become aware that most of the “cool” kids were wearing boxer briefs. I was too embarrassed to say anything to my mom until my senior year.

I very timidly told her I would rather have boxer briefs. Surprisingly, she was very cool about it, and we headed to the store. There weren’t too many colors or options to pick from in our small town. I mostly just stuck with black or white standard you could buy at Wal Mart.

Over the years, I have upgraded to nicer brands – mostly Calvin Klein. But I have stuck with black or white up until recently. I started reading this blog (Underwear News Briefs) one day while trying to discover something not quite so boring. It opened up my eyes to all the different cuts, styles, colors & fabrics that are available in the men’s underwear market these days.

I finally was brave enough to order a few pairs online (bless the Internet!) . I still prefer boxer-briefs for working out, but not just plain old cotton. I recently purchased a Unico boxer brief that is a silky/stretchy fabric that is just to die for. Can I just say it feels like heaven on my “special area” 🙂

For everyday wear, I’ve started branching out. It seems ironic, but I seem to be going back to briefs – but no the plain old saggy bum tighty whities. I love a new Good Boy Gone Bad brief in Yellow with a dragon print. Talk about OUT THERE! I still wouldn’t be parading around in these at the gym or anything, but they make me feel sexy as hell knowing they are under my pants at work and around town.

I’m sure my underwear will continue to evolve and my collection will continue to grow as time goes on. Thank you Tim and Underwear News Briefs for letting men know that they don’t have to stick to the “normal” and can feel sexy and look great at the same time!

NOTE: This is a reader and not UNB Bryce. We hope you enjoy a guest post!
