Sprinkles Grey - Front - Full BodyCroota has always been a favorite of the guys here at UNB. Since we first started covering them they have always ranked high in our reviews. So when they release something new we want to bring it to you guys. The latest release is the Sprinkles line. I can hear a few of you going, “Sprinkles?” The name  speaks to the the pattern they have created.

The first thing you will notice in the pictures is the color is monochromatic. We have guys who read the blog who love more “classic” colors and don’t like really bright undies. They want something that wont’ bring strange stares from people at the gym. You could take your pants off at the gym and many may not notice you have on a brand that isn’t a US staple.

You maybe asking where do the sprinkles come in? They are small dots of color mixed in the fabric. You can’t see them in the main pic but they are in all different bright colors. So when the light hits them it will sparkle! So, in second thought you may not want to wear them to the gym!

The style for this range is a low rise trunk. The waistband is a Croota branded waistband and is available in the grey and black. Both darker colors so the Sprinkles will pop!

Here is some info Croota sent us:

Croota underwear (www.croota.com) has just released its ‘Sprinkles’ range of men’s trunks, adding to a 2014 collection of underwear filled with unique styles, designs and fits.

Croota’s ‘Sprinkles’ trunks offer a subtle splattering of colors against one of two monochromatic color options. The range is offered in grey or black, and features a waistband that is a mixture of two distinctive materials (cotton and elastane), which give the Croota logo a reflective surface.

Like its other ranges, Croota’s ‘Sprinkles’ range is a lo-rise glove-fit pair of men’s trunks. It was designed for a guy who likes simple designs and subtle flair. It is made with 95% breathable cotton and 5% elastane, and retails for $22.90 (www.croota.com

C21713452-F400Hey guys, Paul here! As you know from reading Jon’s review, a little more than a month ago we decided to pick pairs of underwear for one another to buy, as we both were in the market for some new underwear. The only input we had was on the price, and the style we were looking for. All I told Jon was that I wanted some new briefs-while I’m religiously a trunk/boxer brief wearer, I have recently began building my collection of briefs. I knew that Jon had some good recommendations, but I was going out on a limb as far as what he liked. Let me tell you, the straight boy has taste.

Jon picked the C-IN2 Pop Lo No Show Profile Brief for me, which he said was one of his favorite pairs. Luckily for me, mensunderwearstore.com had it for an extremely reasonable price of $20 dollars, with plenty of sizes and colors to choose from. My instructions were to buy a purple pair, and as easy as that, I was the proud owner of my first C-IN2 pair of underwear. Not to mention, mensunderwearstore.com has ridiculously fast and efficient shipping and was overall a great buying experience. When I got the package I was, as always, excited to try them on. The purple color was bright but not in an obnoxious neon way; it felt professional yet still attractive. Again, mensunderwearstore.com had a multitude of colors and sizes for sale and if you’re looking for a little bit more color, they offer a brighter orange pair, which I would recommend.

When I’m not drooling over rows and rows of underwear products online, I work full time in education, running up and down at schools working in a rather upbeat (read: hectic) environment. For me, the idea of wearing briefs to work is a novel idea: usually it leads to chaffed thighs or me awkwardly rearranging my junk every 5 minutes. However, Jon expressed to me that he often wore this pair in his workout routine, and that it held up throughout his vigorous physical activity. On his word, I wore them to work, still suspicious. This for me was the hallmark of this pair; not only did they keep me comfortable all day at work, they felt better than most pairs I had worn to work before. Of course, briefs leave one with a little bit more movement in the legs, and keep things a little cooler than boxer briefs or trunks do. This pair demonstrated both; the fabric kept me cool even while I was running around campus and gave me plenty of free-range movement. More than that, the support in terms of the pouch was also exemplary: keeping things right where they should be without being too constricting. For most of the day, I forgot that I was wearing them, which to me, is a great thing. No irritation, no restriction. Just a pair of underwear that moved with me.

As far as aesthetics and sizing are concerned, again the purple color Jon chose for me looked really great: it felt appropriate for work but would also be great for going out and showing off. In terms of size, I am 34 inches which means I’m usually in between the medium and large sizes for most underwear companies. I wish I would have listened to Jon, who recommended erring on the smaller size thanks to the cut of the brief. Instead I got a large. What I noticed is that the pair doesn’t quite cling to me in the way I would like; there is definitely some bunching that happens in the rear from being a little too big, and surprisingly enough, I don’t quite fill out the thighs the way I would like to (considering I have massive thighs). So if you like a little bit of wiggle room, aim for a true size. If you’re looking for a pair that hugs a little closer, aim for a size down. When and if I buy another pair, they will be in a medium.

The size issue here (which was no ones fault but my own) is really the only negative thing I have to say about this pair. I’m extremely grateful to Jon for picking a pair that was not only worth my money, but functions great as well. I’d highly recommend this pair to anyone looking for a steady pair of affordable, good-looking briefs. Overall, this has been a totally fun experience for Jon and I, and I hope that we get to do it again soon. If you like what we’ve done here, please let us know! We’d love to hear your ideas as we move forward. Happy undies, guys!

diesel-jocky-jockThe follow two posts are reactions from both UNBJon and UNBPaul in regard to their Unknown Undies experiment which took place a few weeks ago. We both hope you enjoy our posts and feel free to respond or ask us both any questions via our Twitter accounts, @UNBJon and @UNBPaul.

UNBJon’s Experience

As I write this piece, I am doing my laundry at the laundromat so what better place is there to look back at your dirty laundry and try to remember the times over the past week or two when you wore certain clothes. It’s a different look back, but for me, it sometimes works. I guess I have a weird memory, but I digress. Anyway, when I do my laundry I see A LOT of underwear in my dirty pile and while all aren’t typical of my peers, there was one pair that @UNBPaul randomly picked for me to buy recently that really has a fun backstory. Before I begin, I just want to say a big THANK YOU to MensUnderwearStore.com for providing both Paul and I with our great underwear. Mine arrived in record time. They are a very fair, progressive company worth checking out.

So Paul approached me with the idea to pick a pair of underwear that neither of us have worn, given a price limit and there was no refusal at all. Just an agreement between two underwear guys. About an hour after this agreement was reached, I got the email from Paul for which I was waiting. What lurked within the attached hyperlink could not have surprised, scared, excited, pleased, and shocked me more. He picked a Yellow Diesel Jock, a very bold choice and while I had never worn a Diesel made pair of underwear prior, this was not the thing which elicited my wide range of emotions. This pair would be my first fashion jock. Granted I had worn the typical athlete jock straps in the past but in all honesty, they really aren’t that comfortable and I haven’t worn one for many years. Fashion jocks had always intrigued me, but have never made a purchase due to being timid and afraid to stray away from my briefs. But now was the time and I eagerly waited for the jock to arrive in the mail.

MensUnderwearStore really impressed me when the package arrived at my door in under two days, far exceeding the initial time estimate. When I first got the package I instantly ripped it apart. I was so eager to put this thing around my waist. When I got the jock out of its packaging, I instantly stripped down and put it on my waist, in my living room for that matter. I really didn’t care who saw. I was excited. What did I think? Well, I first thought they were full of freedom. Having your butt unexposed provides a pleasant breeze but unlike just being naked, the frontal support of this jock was immense. Granted I had seen the basic dynamics of a jock strap in the past, but this Diesel jock was far superior in design and functionality. Along with this, I felt a little risqué wearing this pair. I mean, straight guys don’t usually wear bright yellow undies with hardly any coverage and no ass coverage of which to speak. In my mind, I was pushing the limits. I think that any good pair of underwear should really make the guy wearing it feel confident and dare I say sexy while wearing it and for this I was happy.

I proceeded to wear the jock into my work day and continued to be impressed. The rear straps of this jock were really giving my butt a nice lift and giving me some great physical support while I lifted and moved on the job. There were times when I had to adjust a butt strap, but I tried to keep these moments discrete as to not get strange looks. I was certainly enjoying the pair. Near the end of the day I encountered my first pitfall when, discretely adjusting a butt strap I noticed that a decent portion of my pants were covered in butt sweat. Now this may be fine at the gym, but at work it’s slightly too moderately embarrassing. Luckily I was the only one to notice this. Not sure if this was the jock’s doing, but it has never happened while wearing briefs so I think I have to pin it on the jock. It’s a minor issue though.

As the work day came to a close, I was looking to really give the jock a test and give my muscles their daily workout so I proceeded straight to the gym, got changed into workout attire (to surprisingly no perplexed stares), and hopped onto the exercise bike to kick off my routine. The jock really shined through here. My legs had an unmatched freedom of movement and I felt no binding as I would occasionally feel wearing undies with seat coverage. On the bike I was on cloud nine, however; this is where a few issues began to arise. I made my way down to the weight bench and performed my chest routine over the course of about 45 minutes and then moved onto abs. I did about three sets of decline sit ups before I began feeling some discomfort around my tailbone. At first I didn’t think anything of it. I finished my last set of decline sit ups and moved onto floor mat ab exercises. At the end of the last set of exercises, this discomfort had shifted to pain for which I had no idea. In the moment, I was just happy to finish the workout and happy that the jock gave me superior private part cooling and support. The answer to the pain question was answered upon taking my shorts off in the locker room as all the skin around the top of my ass had worn away to bare flesh and was bleeding! Surprised was hardly the word to describe my reaction, but at least the jock didn’t get blood stained! (#UnderwearProblems). Not sure of the answer, but maybe some more seasoned jock wearers could tell me if you have to build up tougher skin to before really hitting it hard in the gym to avoid what happened to me.

The loss of skin doesn’t affect my opinion of this jock at all. I really enjoyed my first wear and look forward to wearing it again as soon as, or within a few days of, my laundry being finished and folded. I think I will buy a few jocks moving forward. They are different, but different in a good way. It keeps you aware that not all underwear is created equal and that’s a good thing. All have pluses and minuses and embracing this is fun. Paul picked a great pair. I just hope he likes what I picked for him!

142_LARGE_HOME_PAGE_76569If you’re a fan of 2(X)ist? If you are you should check out the new Volume line was just released! You maybe asking what is new about the Volume line? Before I get into that, the last few years 2(X)ist has really found a way to keep their lines fresh and new. They are having fun playing with materials (like the Sliq Mesh), Colors (in their prints) and waistbands (they change them up often).

Back in August when I met with 2(X)ist they showed me this line. They are one of the few that shows six months out. So, by the time they come out I have to refer to my notes and remember what we talked about.

The first thing that pointed out to me was the waistband. If you look at the picture above you will see the pattern in the background. The pattern is an equalizer, similar to ones you see with DJ’s. This is a subtle print with metallic 2(X)ist written across the front. This is where the name of the line comes from!

Next, is the pouch which is original Contour Pouch. This pouch made to support and boost. There is a trim that runs along the pouch and around the back that accents the pouch.

Lastly, the Volume line comes in a N0-Show Brief, No-Show Trunk and a Jockstrap. The six colors are Black, White, Parakeet (Green), Directore Blue, Poppy Red and Lemon Chrome. Prices range from $24-28.

Find this and more pairs at the 2(X)ist Site

61qx7Zz9ETL._SY606_Having been a lover of underwear for over 10 years it only seemed natural to seek out an outlet for me to share my love with other likeminded men.  This led me to the incredibly educational yet intriguing blog of Underwear News Briefs.  Cheeky in its title, I knew I had found a place that I could call home and a group of guys that I could call a team.  Who wouldn’t want to play for an underwear team? 🙂

To break in my first review on UNB, I decided to take advantage of a pair of underwear that brought two of my favorite things together.  I am a brief, jock, and thong guy.  Many men can get concerned about taking that plunge into the jockstrap or thong realm for fear of it appearing “too gay” or “feminine,”  but not me.  I enjoy the two for their sexy look, feel, and showcase of my favorite part of the male body; the butt.  Imagine my excitement when I learned that Andrew Christian created the Show It Jock Thong, combining two of my favorites into one exceptional pair of underwear.  It took me no time to have one be mine.  I have had a few other pairs of Andrew Christian underwear in briefs, jocks, and thongs before and have enjoyed all of my previous purchases.

I decided to give the pair a good long day of use to get a sense of its comfort level and flexibility in my day.  After stepping out of the shower, I pulled them up and slid all of the straps into position.  One strap circling each of my butt cheeks while one strap slid nicely along the center of my butt to the waistband.  The perfect jock thong combo!  At first feel, everything is where it is supposed to be and holding everything in place nicely.  I did notice some additional support in the pouch which seemed to offer a closer body feel around the testicles, to keep them up and in place.

My day consisted of my typical 9 to 5 job where I do various normal activities of driving, sitting, standing, and walking.  I felt comfortable for a majority of my day, feeling like I was wearing a pair that offered all of the coverage and support I needed, as far as everyone knew.  Under my suit, I know I showed a different naughty side.  There is something appealing in the mind about being a businessman in a suit on the outside and knowing that this incredibly sexy look is hidden underneath.  I went out to lunch with coworkers, had meetings, and worked at my desk, all in a state of comfort.  At times, the tighter straps by the testicles required some adjusting to keep everything comfortable, which seems normal in any pair of underwear at some point during the day.  It seemed as though I would occasionally have to lift everything up to free them of the straps around the package because they got too tight up against the testicles.

I am a 32″ waist and purchased the Medium which covers 30-32 inch waists.  Everything fits me fine and I made it through the whole day without feeling like I was wearing underwear that was too small or too big.  It fit just right.  I feel that they have sized this pair to truth and the future purchasers will hopefully not have any problems with this choice.

Overall, this is a very sexy pair of underwear that add something different to an ever expanding drawer.  Men who appreciate a jockstrap but are nervous about trying a thong may feel that this is a good middle step to take.  Not only is it sexy but it is functional.  You can make it comfortably through a work day, including lunch and meetings, without feeling uneasy about what is under your khakis.  My only dislike with the pair was the pouch as I did find myself having to adjust myself a few times during the day from the way the strap set against one side of my testicles.  Another major complaint is that I only see it available in black!  I am hoping more colors become available so I can add many of these too my underwear drawer.

Andrew Christian did not let me down in my excitement of a jock and thong combination.  I recommend this pair to anyone who enjoys wearing a jockstrap or a thong and to anyone looking to fix their intimidation of a thong.  I look forward to wearing this in the future, especially on an upcoming date 🙂 Stay tuned……

Pros:

  • Sexy look
  • Innovative design of a jock and thong coming together
  • Soft, comfortable material

Cons:

  • Not enough lift support in the pouch
  • Limited selection- hopefully the beginning of a great new design with many options

  • Daily Fit = 8
  • Sizing = 9
  • Construction/Materials = 8
  • Styling = 8
  • Daily Performance = 8
  • Overall = 8

n2n-singletsI am a lover of underwear, obviously. But I also love tight clothing that is sexy to wear and sexy to see/be seen in. One of my favorites is singlets: even though it’s not really underwear I have worn them as underwear and lounge wear.

As loungewear they are amazing. The tightness of them makes you feel warm during a cold night. When I am by myself wearing one of my singlets I feel sexy and comfy. The feeling of the tight spandex is not only sexy but makes me feel thinner. I am not vain, but I love looking at myself in my singlet.

When someone is around, wearing a singlet can lead to an amazing and fun night. “Wrestling” with someone while wearing a singlet is a feeling like nothing else. If you are a straight guy, wear one for your lady. I have talked to the girlfriends and wives of many of my straight friends and they would love to see their guy in one. Singlets are not just for the gay male.

As for underwear, singlets miss the mark. Even though it feels amazing under your clothes and helps slim you down, when its time to pee it’s a chore just to fish yourself out of it. As for trying to do your other business, forget about it.

To sum up, give singlets a try. They are amazing for lounging and fun for some light fetish wear. They come in a huge range of colors, cuts and types of material. My personal favorite brand is N2N. You can see their entire line on their website.

sagara_2_432Underwear is not always about what’s newest and high tech, sometimes is going back to our roots. The Fundoshi was the traditional underwear in Japan, up until World War II. This is the information on the Wikipedia page. So it dates back quite a few years.

I used to have one many years ago. It wasn’t that hard to put on and was quite comfortable. I can’t remember why I got rid of it but remember going through my underwear drawer. I wished I had saved it but sometimes you make decisions you regret later. This is one underwear decision I def regret.

Now Planet Undies has a brand new line of Fundoshi from Sagara Lionclothes. You maybe asking how do you put them on after looking at the picture. Well, it’s not like sliding on a thong or brief, but it’s not that difficult. Once you get it on properly it’s not bad.

Here is what Planet Undies has to say: Definition: Sagara Loinclothes, return to the values of simplicity and natural origins. Focused on ancient and traditional underwear, Sagara offers a rare, sometimes unpublished, repeating the underwear of the past and by offering a version revisited, modernized, combining the traditional aspects and the strengths of the materials of today. Sagara is aimed at those who are looking for underwear like no other, for the pleasure of discovery and the universe of relaxation, hammam and sauna.

next-pairReaching a milestone is something we all look forward to in life.  Not everyone will look at an underwear collection as a milestone worth celebrating, but I know everyone here will appreciate this milestone.  As I sit in a coffee shop typing this, there is a package waiting for me in my mailbox.  In that package are 5 pairs of underwear that will put my underwear collection total at 297.  That’s right folks, I’m only 3 pairs away from 300.  How should we celebrate?

I’m less focused on the celebration I guess and more interested in what that 300th pair will be.  With my recent involvement here, my 300th pair could very will be a sample pair I review.  If that’s where they come from I sure I hope it’s a good pair that I’ll be proud to own and give rave reviews about.  On the other hand it could be an uncomfortable trip into unknown territory with a new design or style I’ve never worn before.  No, going to keep positive here, number 300 will be amazing.

This amazing number 300 could also come from a favorite online haunt of mine, www.cheapundies.com.  You never know what amazing finds will pop up there from day to day.  All I know is you better act fast if you see something you like, they sell out fast.  I wish there were more sites like www.cheapundies.com.  They are responsible for the largest surge in my collection to date.  It’s hard to resist the temptation to order sometimes.  We won’t look at my credit card statement where it is concerned.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if that 300th pair came from a fan who ordered them for me from my Amazon wish list?  I want to kiss the genius that thought of the ability to create a wish list and share with anyone and everyone.  I know my list is filled with underwear and jocks I want to own, but would feel better financially if someone else footed the bill.  I guess that sounds really bad, but if there are people out there willing to send random gifts to strangers, who I am to refuse?

Lastly, and most likely, I’ll hand pick a pair of really nice underwear I’ve been eyeing for some time now.  There are a few brands I’m looking at to become number 300.  The obvious choices are C-IN2, Aussiebum, 2xist, and Unico.  I know, why don’t I let you help me decide?  I think that’ll be fun and get you involved in a small part in making my mind up for me.  So there we have it then, a reader poll to determine my 300th pair.  I can’t wait!

ORANGE-YOU-GLADDo you see a color of underwear and immediately say to yourself, “I gotta have those?”  Well, that’s how I am with the color orange.  Whether I am in a store or shopping online I have a real hard time resisting a pair of orange underwear.  Now, to be fair, it goes for most anything orange.  Shirts, shorts, and yes, underwear in the color orange will most likely end up in my shopping cart.  My Amazon wish list is loaded with orange underwear.  Thankfully having that wish list option helps me feel like I might buy it one day and saves me the money today.

I did some research, by which I mean I looked on Wikipedia.  They say that color preference relates back to childhood.  I can not for the life of me recall anything orange in my childhood.  I guess the closest to childhood orange relations would be the blaze orange clothes we wore when we went hunting.  I guess I’ll go with that.  I enjoy hunting and had to wear orange clothes to hunt, so 2 + 2 = 5…right!?  I really don’t know why I love orange so much.  I just do!

My love of the color orange is not a big secret either.  My fans and followers on Twitter and Tumblr know without a doubt I love orange.  Every time I stumble upon a guy wearing orange underwear, I click that reblog or retweet button so fast heads spin.  I have seen some photos I wouldn’t normally share, but that glimmer of orange makes that desire to share impossible to resist.  I guess adding orange to anything makes it look better.

Now, do I have ONE favorite pair of orange underwear…NOPE!!  I looked back through several photos I had taken and found a few pairs I would classify as “favorites.”  I came across a photo of my first pair of skimpy swim trunks.  A bright orange pair from Sauvage.  I got them right before a trip to Florida.  I wore them almost exclusively.  They attracted a lot of attention too.  My trunks were like a beacon for the boys at the beach checking me out on Grindr, cause yes, I posted that photo of me wearing them on Grindr.  The second pair I came across in my photo search was a pair of bright orange pair of N2N briefs.  N2N consistently delivers fun and sexy underwear.  I have several pairs of their underwear, mostly orange I believe.  I usually get plenty of comments when I post a photo of me wearing them, as they tend to leave little to the imagination.  The last pair I came across was a pair of orange briefs I got with my first order from Aussiebum.  Whatever those folks in Australia are doing, they got underwear figured out.  I now own about 6 pairs of Aussiebum underwear.  I would count myself as a new fan of them and watch their site regularly now of new stuff.

Well, I guess there is really nothing more to do here than to share those favorites with you.  Stay tuned as I’m sure I’ll a lot more orange undies from my collection.  I hope you enjoy.

img_7318Last April a new brand came on the scene called SUKREW. It’s a funny name for a really interesting underwear brand. The owner took his 20 years of design experience and turned it to the world of underwear. Their philosophy  is “Our goal is to help you to look and feel sexual, sensual and confident, through creative designs, expert workmanship and quality materials”

The first pair they created was the y U Trunk. The U Trunk is made with U panel that makes you hang free. So you get the feel of underwear but also the feel of going commando. I have seen the pics and they look interesting. While it may not be for everyone its def something new in the world of men’s underwear.

Granted, some of you out there are going, but I like the mystery of underwear and not showing off what I have when out on a date or in general. Well, they have released a full brief that has an enclosed pouch! So you won’t have to worry about lack of support or modesty.

The pair we are profiling is the Union Jack Full Brief. The first reason we choose it is they are based out of the UK. Its only fitting to have the Union Jack on a pair of underwear. We always see the American flag on undies. It’s about time to see more countries on them. Next, the pouch looks really cool. They say the pouch will enhance your package. So it won’t have any straps or instructions how to put on. Lastly, they are a relatively new company and not in the US. We are definitely trying to bring you brands you may not know about!

If this pair is a little too wild for you they do have the same brief in solid colors. We will be interviewing them soon to bring you more info about the brand and how they got started!

The last time I saw SUKREW was at the end of last year before they added to their collections with the full briefs. Now they have 5 different collections and the original fit turnk and briefs, along with the full cut trunk and briefs. The Union Jack Full brief retails for £24.99 at their site. You can find them at http://www.sukrew.com/
