This pair has “amazing pouch fit and a great low profile on your waist.”  To get the deal go to the Baskit website and go under specials. While on the specials page check out the swimwear and Pure line both on sale!

My second pair of lacey undies left a far better impression on me than the first. The lace jockstrap that I tried out last week left a negative first impression of lace undies. This very untraditional boyshort comes in red, black, and white (I reviewed red) and is made up of 85% nylon, 15% spandex.

The comfort level was the biggest surprise to me. They don’t look at all comfortable, and I thought I would spend all day itching at hair getting stuck in the lace and readjusting, but luckily I was very easily able to forget that I was even wearing them, a characteristic of every good pair of underwear.

Lookwise, it’s on the way to being attractive, but it’s still not quite there for me. I love the concept, but the execution lacks in my eye, the biggest negative being the metal medallions on each strap of the sides of the underwear. They look great on the package, but out of the package look more like plastic. I was unable to easily remove the medallions (I don’t have anything to cut through metal in the house), but they seem unnecessary. I have to say though that the way that the underwear hugs the rear makes a fantastic outline of the bottom of the um… bottom. The rear view is very hot!

Available from the MaleBasics website for $19.50, the MaleBasics Lacie Boyshort hasn’t quite given me the incredible lacey experience that I’ve been hoping for since I first learned about them, but besides the great price, they’ve started to leave me feeling positive for the future of lace undies.

Are you ready for a new take on and old classic? If so then you need to check out the Jack Adams Ranger Fly X Jockstrap. This pair is updated due to the innovation, quality construction and style. It also has one thing other jocks don’t, a fully functional fly for easy access.

  • Thick supportive pouch made of extremely soft, knitted material
  • stylish X strap design that provides a nice lift to enhance your butt
  • Made from 70% Polyester, 15% cotton and 15% rubber.
  • Available in All Black, Black/Yellow, Black/Red and Black/White

This pair is available at 10Percent.com for $23.00

Is it underwear or is it men’s panities? Made of materials which feel very similar to women’s underwear, you would think this 78% Nylon, 22% Spandex brief belonged to a woman not a man. However, the cut and fit are definite made for a man’s frame. The constructed pouch provides support only a good pair of men’s bikini briefs can offer. Add to that the low hip cut and the crossed pattern in the back and you have a wonderfully sexy and very comfortable pair. Speaking of that crossed pattern, it gives just the right amount of glimpse to the assets hidden underneath.

Available in four colors (red, white, black and turquoise) the piece has a decent variety for most people. It is also cost effective. It is only $18 per pair. It does have a downside though. The garment is not washing machine safe and must be hand washed and laid flat to dry. The material, cut, and colors may be reminiscent of women’s panties but these are definitely made for men and are definitely a great pair for any man to have in his drawer.

Timoteo, the Los Angeles based men’s designer that caters to the stylish and active man who seeks the ultimate in comfort and design, introduces its first collection to merge fashion with fetish, CellBlock 13. Made from spandex athletic mesh and nylon spandex fabrics, in sinisterly dark shades of navy, black and red – with a custom designed waistband boldly emphasizing the rawness of the brief – CellBlock 13 goes beyond the bedroom, ushering men into the adult playroom and beyond. CellBlock 13, by Timoteo, is available at select retailers and online now.

“We have long received requests to create and design a line for the fetish community,” said Timoteo Ocampo, Creative Director and Co-Owner of Timoteo, of the new line in Los Angeles.  “There was a void in the market for designs that fit properly and were created using the latest fabrications,” said Ocampo, “we are so thrilled to be launching a very specific brand for a very specific customer.”  Before launching his own label, Ocampo worked as a designer; first for XOXO and later at Baby Phat, where he helped launch the brand with Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee. He names Yves Saint Laurent as one of his greatest influences.

“CellBlock 13 is for the guy who isn’t afraid to show off how he looks and feels, or what he’s into. The line fills a void in the fetish market and extends beyond into other communities.  CellBlock 13 has an attitude skaters will wear and it’s tough enough for ultimate fighters.  Basically, the gear is for anyone with an edge,” says Ocampo.

The collection consists of a full range of underwear, jockstraps, graphic tee shirts, compression shorts and wrestling singlets and introduces a new twist on how one wears compression fabrics.

“The line is officially launched as CellBlock 13, a Timoteo Brand,” says Joel Johnston, CEO and Co-Owner of Timoteo. “This is the first of more future offerings that are targeted to specific customer segments from the Timoteo brand umbrella,” continued Johnston, “as creative director and head designer Timoteo as distinguished himself as a true American designer and his construction and fabrication are second top quality.”

Along with CellBlock 13, Timoteo is unveiling four new underwear lines for spring 2012 including Timoteo Sport 2.0 and Classic Luxury Mesh.

Timoteo launched ten years ago as a small storefront in West Hollywood, CA that manufactured select fashion pieces for men.  It has since evolved into a fun and hip brand that produces a full line of product across multiple categories including denim, sports tees, tank tops, underwear, swim and athletic wear.

“This season’s collection is about adding fashion to fitness wear with high quality fabrics that breath, colors that are of the moment, and fits that accentuate a well-toned body,” says Ocampo.

Staying connected through social media is a huge priority for the brand.  “Our customers are as active on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and other social networking sites as they are in the gym.  We have to maintain a strong presence online,” says Johnston.

Ocampo says the feedback towards CellBlock 13 he has received so far via social media has him very excited.   Ocampo said, “The overwhelmingly positive response to images we released through social media tells me we are doing this the way right way and people are loving it.”

“My job is to provide guys with gear that looks and feels good,” he says.  “Clothes that enable them to play hard in this game we call life.”

Ever wonder what it would be like to wake up and spend your morning with an Andrew Christian model? The Andrew Christian team got the “boyfriend” experience with one of our favorites, Jason Medina. The video is shot as if you are Jason’s lover, making you feel like you are there. The video begins with Jason waking up under the covers, smiling and blowing kisses. He then strips down completely for a teasing bubble bath. After that he shares champagne and downs a banana just before stripping once more to skinny dip.

We are curious what do you think of the new Andrew Christian Videos?

It’s Tuesday and that mean’s it is time for Baskit’s $12 Tuesday. This weeks pair is the Energy Brief. The Energy Brief is known for its great pouch and low profile. This pair is regularly $22 but today only you can get it for just $12! While there check out the swimwear on sale and the Pure line as well! Both are really great prices. Just go under specials.

The Malebasics Lace Micro Thong V-String is a great pair of underwear. I received the black and red pair to review. The waistband is a wide 2 inch piece of soft black lace. The actual pouch and thong strap are a red nylon/spandex blend. (85% Nylon 15% Spandex.) The materials are very soft.

Now I know many of you aren’t the type that wear thongs on a regular basis. The thought of wearing a lace thong might just seem even stranger and too feminine. If you strip the preconceived notions of what is masculine versus feminine you might be surprised by the likability of wearing this garment. Women wear lace often because it is a soft fabric. So why shouldn’t men get the chance to feel soft luxurious fabrics against their skin. The day I decided to wear this pair for my review I sat at my desk at work and ran errands after in NYC. This invovled some serious walking around several neighborhoods so I definitely had a chance to put these to the test.

The design of the underwear is very simplistic. The pouch is two pieces of fabrics with a front middle seam and the thong strap is attached at the base of the pouch. I prefer my underwear to not have a seam in the center of the pouch. Malebasics only offers this thong is two sizes (s/m and l/xl). I found that the front seam didn’t bother me as it normally does because the size of the underwear was larger than what I normally would get. The length of the strap was also nice. There was never a need to adjust the pouch or thong during the day.  The width of the waistband was a little too wide. Since the fabric is so soft there is little structure to stop it from folding. Under my jeans it stayed flat for the duration of the day but later when I got home and decided to relax on my couch in just the underwear I noticed that it was folding. The waistband is so soft that I was happy to realize I hardly felt it on my skin.

I don’t think I would wear these to the gym. I say this not because they are very feminine looking but solely based on the sizing. They are very comfortable to wear under jeans but I don’t think they would be very supportive while working out at the gym. Would I wear them again? Sure. I don’t think I would make them a regular pair I pull out of my drawer but they will definitely be worn at some point again when I just want to look sexy while I lounge around.

Pros

  • Soft fabrics
  • Fun color blocking
  • Good design and manufacturing

Cons

  • Front seam in pouch
  • Dual sizing ratio
