The N2N reviews continue on, we have quite a few of them and will be bringing them to you over the next few weeks. N2N is one of my favorite brands around. So, when the new line came out I got really excited and was happy when they sent it over to us!

The Twilight Brief is very similar to the Freedom line. I found them quite similar actually. Instead of a white waistband it had a black one and is available in black, white and grey. The materials are a 90% cotton/10% cotton rib fabric. It fits pretty well.  The only thing I wished was a little more support but it still was a great fit.

I wore them for a day of errands and running around. They didn’t bind or really loose their shape. There is nothing worse then undies that don’t hold up through the day. But, note these are a looser fit then normal. If are expecting a tight pouch these aren’t for you.

They were constructed very well. The one thing I always have to compliment N2N on is that they have amazing construction. They create underwear that holds up well wearing and in the wash. I have the ones I reviewed last year that still in great shape after a year of wear. And yes I wear them often!

If you want a great pair of underwear that are not too tight and breathes well though out the day then these are perfect for you!

How much is in a name? Moreover, how much does the name of something influence your purchase? If your like me, the chances are you get the object with the more interesting name. Now, to be completely truthful, there aren’t that many boring underwear brand names. Gigo, Funkytown, Boys and their Hardware, those all seem pretty interesting don’t they? Well the last one, carries quite a bit of individuality with it. Something a lot of brands don’t carry, but they should. Now the name, “Boys and their Hardware”, it sounds pretty creative doesn’t it? A little risque even?

I received the super dude pair, and let me tell you, it’s blue, very very blue. Coupled with the blue is the red piping, and then the Superdude logo on the front. It’s got a dull white waistband, with the “Boys and their Hardware” repeated around. The composition of the pair is cotton and elastic, but with no percentage on the underwear, but the website lists it at 90% cotton and 10% elastic. Throw all of that together, and you’ve got yourself a nice pair of underwear, very comfortable. Let me stress that again, it is very very comfortable.

I put these through the daily grind, and they held up like champs. I’m not really a fan of how long the legs are, but that’s more of a style problem, and not a brand one. That being said, they were comfortable, they didn’t bunch, and they look great. If your in the market for a new pair, definitely give Boys and their Hardware a look! You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll find some seriously great pairs for your collection.

Boys and their Hardwear provided me with this underwear to review

We got a new brand to review, Boys and Their Hardwear! They have some really fun briefs and trunks. They wouldn’t be for the gym wear but for a date or just something fun to wear I think they would be perfect! The pair I got to review is the Big Hauler Briefs. As you can see they are yellow and have a truck on them. I think you know what the brief means!

They are like a traditional brief. Which can be good or bad, depending on how it’s made. I got to wear them for an active day and I will say I am glad they held their form all day. Sometimes when you get briefs they can loose their shape. Which, I don’t know about you, drives me crazy when I wear them. So the briefs are pretty good.

I think these have a really big fun factor. I love it when a company does something that makes underwear fun to wear, as they say! Too many times you have just white and black. These are fun without being too much over the top. If you wore them on a date I think you’d get a great reaction wearing them.

They are made from a 90% Cotton/10% spandex blend so they fit pretty nicely. As I mentioned above they hold their form. The sizing for them is pretty much standard sizing, so you don’t have to worry about getting the wrong size.

The Unico reviews continue!  The new Unico line, to me, is really fun and they have used great materials in creating them.  I have fallen in love with the spandex/nylon trunk.  I reviewed the Jardin boxer brief and it became one of my favorites.  My favorite pair of briefs that I mentioned yesterday is a nylon/spandex blend.

The pair I got is the short boxers.  Of course, when I took them out of the package, I became really excited.  I don’t know what it is about Unico, but they just know how to make undies that fit men.  The pouch is amazing and holds everything perfectly.  It doesn’t constrict either.  That can be tricky when you are seeking good undies.

If you have never tried Unico, I highly recommend you do.  One fact you should know…order a size larger!  They tend to run small for American sizes.  Trust me when I say you will be grateful for that advice!  They are based on sizing standards from South America.

Getting back to the review, these truly did fit like a glove.  I knew as soon as I felt them that they would be simply amazing.  This is one of those pairs you wear that you wish you could wear for more than one day in a row.  It felt as if I wasn’t wearing underwear at all.  They definitely will be stored in my top underwear drawer.  If you are like me, you have more than one underwear drawer.  The top one is for the pairs I love while the second is for those that are good but not for every day wear.  The bottom one is for those I wear only when I run out of the top two selections.

Unico is back!  With some setbacks with reviews, we finally have them!  The pair I received to review is the Brief Vibrante [49405D-80].  First thing…I love the colors.  I don’t know what it is about this pair, but the colors and stripes look incredibly hot to me.  As you all know, I LOVE Unico.

I posted on the Facebook group that my very first and most favorite pair of Unico is in the stages of final wear.  It’s great to get a replacement for my favorite pair!  These have the great fit and that awesome pouch Unico is known for.

This pair is made of a Cotton/spandex blend.  It fits you well and is perfect for any thing you can do!  One thing I really love is the blue waistband.  It’s great seeing that some companies are doing good things with waistbands.  I know many of you out there don’t care, but I think it’s amazing.

In my eyes, there haven’t been many things at all that Unico has made that I didn’t like.  Obviously, that is because they are one of my favorites.  I have tried everything from thongs to trunks and long boxers.  Everything is just awesome.

I will admit that I’m a huge fan of N2N Bodywear.  I got my first pair last year when we reviewed that style.  I fell in love with the brand.  They create some really great stuff and are never afraid of color.  I loved the Mojave and Luxe briefs I received.  When they sent us a huge box, I got excited.  This box was a good 12x12x12.  When you get a box that size, you begin to wonder what is in it.  I greedily opened it and the underwear jackpot was hit.

They sent us about eight pairs of swimwear for our swimwear guide (coming out this month) and a few pairs for me and the other guys on the team.  It was a total SCORE!  The first pair I tried was the Freedom Trunk.  When I first opened the package, it looked more like a brief.  I thought, “Maybe I have the brief by mistake.”  I opened the brief as well and noticed the brief was much smaller.  I put them on and wore them for the entire day.

Something that stood out to me was that they are a loose knit.  I was used to very form fitting undies and wondered if I got a size larger.  I believe these are made to fit that way.  They fit me fine, but I was expecting more support.  I was concerned that wearing them through the day would cause them to become looser fitting and lose their form.  This was certainly not the case.  They didn’t stretch out and they didn’t bunch up.  You know what can happen when underwear becomes loose and no longer have their desired shape.

Another thing I love about these are the colors.  N2N has never been afraid of using color and the pair I received was blue.  I am definitely going to give them another try.  If a pair doesn’t fit me like I think it should, I try them again to see if my opinion changes.

We have had conversations this week on the Facebook page about underwear and it seems there are some out there who don’t like Ginch Gonch.  This is due to the pouch, or lack thereof, but I am personally a fan of them.  Granted, I normally like underwear with pouches, but I feel the stretch material that Ginch Gonch uses fits me and allows me to feel comfortable.

With that said, this pair has to be one of the quirky pairs I have ever tried.  The fist thing I noticed was the waistband looks like a strip of bacon. I kid you not!  They went all out with this love of bacon.  They went as far as placing a bacon package over your package, making me laugh quite a bit when I saw it.  On the rear, it has “I Heart Bacon” with two cross bacon strips.

I admit that I do love bacon and feel everything is better with it.  That holds true to this pair.  I think we all need a fun pair in our underwear drawer.  You could use this as a date night pair and, if the other wasn’t aware of them, see their various expressions when the pants come off.  It could be priceless!  Just be warned…I doubt these are kosher.

Ginch Gonch has a new packaging as well.  They now come in a clear rectangular box with a lid that snaps closed.  You can reuse it for holding coins, pens, or whatever else.  I like the new package since it is a lot smaller than the previous box and allows for better merchandising for retailers.

I do love the new series of “I Love” from Ginch Gonch.  They have more coming and we will let you know more as they are introduced.  You can get these from the Ginch Gonch website.  These were furnished by Ginch Gonch for review.

It’s time to come clean!  I have to confess that this is my first time experiencing any product from N2N Bodywear.  Yes, I’m a virgin.  That’s as far as I’ll take this confession.  Receiving both the cotton pouch brief along with the matching v neck t-shirt was a double treat.

Upon first inspection, this ensemble first triggered the thought of pure luxury.  This is not to imply expensive (because their price point is on target) but rather in the sense of total comfort, weightlessness, and classic styling.  After wearing for a full day, I was totally on key with my initial impression.  Guys, these are the most comfortable and amazingly shear yet form fitting briefs and matching t-shirt that I’ve experienced in years.  It’s seldom when you find both that complement your body and meet expectations; it’s generally a mixed bag.  In this case, however, I was completely satisfied with the construction, the enhancing pouch in the brief, and the overall comfort this silhouette set provides.

As mentioned in previous reviews, I typically don’t gravitate toward briefs, but you can’t help falling in love with these because they feel incredibly soft and lightweight.  Based on my skin tone, I’m not a total fan of the color, which they call violet ice; however, I can totally see the v-neck  paired underneath a smart sports jacket along with a pair of dark washed jeans giving a classic and yet stylish and sporty look. This line does come available in other colors including burnt orange, navy, black, white, and golden mist.  There’s plenty of visual diversity for everyone!

If you like the freedom of movement combined with support and sexy, pouch enhancing designs, this line is not doubt for you.  With a mixed blend of 90% extremely sheer and soft cotton and 10% spandex, you simply can’t go wrong.  Give them a try!

May Day, May Day….Mundo Unico has done it again!  What a wonderful start to kicking off the summer by sporting my first pair of swim wear for the season.  This occurred earlier in the week upon receiving these amazing, classic black swim briefs.  I took these out for a test run in the pool at my local gym and fell in love with these sporty briefs immediately.

Whether you’re looking for swimwear for water sports, simply walking on the beach, or lying out at the pool, these have you covered on all accounts.  First, the construction and fabrics used in these sexy briefs are what I’ve come to love about this manufacturer. These carry a blend of 84% Nylon and 16% Spandex.  This creates the perfect weight for ensuring these will keep their shape for seasons to come.

For me, perfect construction is a fundamental requirement of swimwear due to the relentless abuse and multi-function tasks that we require from a good pair of dependable swim briefs.  Simply stated, these won’t disappoint!  The elastic cord that ties in the front of the brief ensures these stay in place and serves well at creating a balanced look across the waistline. Finally, the companies “U” logo is embroidered in silver slightly below the hip on the front, left-hand side of the brief.  Get ready boys!  These are going to make you head to the pool early!

Most of us agree that there is good and bad in everyone and I suspect that 2Wink used this same concept to come with their new dueling pair of underwear; Cool Devil and Hot Angel.  As shown in the picture above, the Cool Devil is your basic white pair of underwear but with a catching red and yellow waistband sporting the 2wink signature across the waist band with red accented trim around the legs.  The arch nemesis, Hot Angel comes in blue with a white/blue waistband and white elastic around the legs. While the manufacturer classifies these as boxers, they’re cut high around the leg and at first glance appear to be briefs.

When first slipping into this mix of cotton and spandex undies, I was instantly impressed by the texture and weight.  It’s amazing at how little 8% of spandex can go a long way in a pair to create amazing comfort and spring back benefits.  I wore these all day while running errands and cleaning up around the condo.  While they are extremely comfortable, I found them a little problematic with staying in place around the leg, which is not typical of a traditional boxer.  I like the style, weight and stretch quality of these boxers, but not a fan of those that are cut this high around the leg; a total personal preference.

If you like this cut or interested in trying something close to a brief but without sacrificing the comfort of a boxer, these might be the idea pair for you.  The final dilemma is deciding if you’re evil’s defiance or the enemy of evil!

I must confess that upon receiving this new thong from Andrew Christian, it was graciously accepted with a bit of trepidation.  While, jocks are not typical of my underwear collection, I was curious with this particular pair considering that Andrew Christian is notorious for their forward thinking designs and superb construction, which honestly is a prerequisite for any thong I’m willing to sport.

Upon opening the packaging, I was impressed with the dry mesh fabric which is known to dry 4 times faster than cotton and doesn’t discolor. This is a new patent Dry Technology that is incorporated into AC’s Dry & Naked Jock and/or Thong with Show-It Technology collection.  This performance thong features a back panel that is designed so that the center strap won’t ride up and become uncomfortable. The sides and back are white and the cup is a contrasting gray with a black waistband and Andrew Christian in white lettering that travels around the entire band.

Perhaps the most intriguing feature of this thong is the comfortable cup that is lined with super soft fabric that gently lifts your package and keeps the family jewels comfortably in place.  I was a little skeptical at first but after wearing them all day, I was totally amazed and oddly enough fell in love with this thong.  Not to mention the fact that it adds about 1.5 inches to your appendage as advertised by the manufacturer.  Needless to say, less can be more!

In summary, never judge a thong solely on its stereotypical and historical reputation.   If you haven’t ever tried a thong or if you’re a seasoned fan, this pair is totally the right pair you want to experience. This evaluation only confirms the committed quality and new technologies that Andrew Christian continues to deliver in every line that is incorporated in their underwear designs.

Andrew Christian Almost Naked Fusion BriefIf there is one brand that has the best chance to take designer underwear mainstream, it would certainly be Andrew Christian.  To be honest, this is the first pair of Andrew Christians I’ve owned.  Everyone I know that knows anything about underwear has a pair…if not multiple pairs.  After a few times wearing my first pair, I can easily see why.  This is truly amazing underwear.  Truly amazing!  I’m quite excited to write this review because it is underwear the whole world needs to know about.

Promises are something I value highly.  When someone, or a brand, tells me something, I expect them to keep their promises.  You may be asking yourself, “What promises in underwear are there?”  I find it quite obvious.  Though it really isn’t that big of a deal, I think it’s important for a brand to uphold their statements.  That promise in this case is frontal support.  Let me tell you, this pair keeps its promises.

You might be wondering what this awesome pair of underwear is created of and it’s kind of surprising.  It’s made of 94% Rayon…from Bamboo.  That’s right, I said it!  Bamboo.  The other 6% is Spandex.  It’s so comfortable.  Another promise AC makes is that it feels like nothing is there.  They are right as you really forget you are wearing it.  The front support is a dream.  It’s really a whole package, pun or not.  I put this underwear through the daily test and it passed.  Through class, daily activities, and working out, it proved to be good, supporting underwear.  If your drawer is lacking, you seriously need to buy this underwear.  If it isn’t lacking, buy it anyway.

Candyman Fashions is one of the brands I have enjoyed working with the most during my span at Underwear News Briefs.  Their unique take on styles, colors, and ability to push the boundaries of men’s underwear is amazing.  They are probably one of the few companies that can make a pair of underwear look like plastic or leather and make them feel and wear like you have on your traditional cotton/spandex mix trunks.

I received the ”9526 Black/Red Boxer” in a size medium.  Candyman Fashions often gets their ideas from role playing costumes and is probably better known for this unique take on underwear.  Don’t get me wrong!  I love a unique pair of undies.  Sometimes, however, I crave something a little more subtle.  Candyman has a great line of underwear that is just plain FUN to see and wear and you don’t have to get tied up in the whole costume look.  The Black and Red boxer is one of those styles that’s not a costume…just simply a fun pair of undies.  They feature a solid black front and back panel with a solid red 1.5” strip down both sides.  Both the red and black have silver metallic specks woven into them to give these undies a unique shine and almost plastic or leathery look.  This pair of Candyman also features a solid black elastic waistband with a contrasting white Candyman logo on the front.

These and many of the other styles from Candyman are great for daily wear, but these undies really shine when you wear them out on the town.  The fit is great for all day wear, but the patterns, colors, fabric, and sex appeal are meant to be noticed.  They are also able to add extra spice in the bedroom.  I wouldn’t recommend wearing these to the gym or out for a run.  I am not saying that you couldn’t, but I believe there are better undies for that.  It would be best to let these eye catching undies be seen in the wild and not full of sweat while doing a squat workout.

Overall, I really enjoyed these undies. They add an element of fun and a little “something different” to my ever expanding underwear collection.

Unique is something I have never shied away from when it comes to underwear.  I love when a brand does something unique and different.  Life Iz Pantz is a brand that has not only taken unique to a new level, but versatility as well.

Life Iz Pantz is a company that has been around for a short while but has recently started to catch on. They offer a one size fits all line of knit men’s underwear that’s available in a variety of colorful stripe patterns.  Life Iz Pantz tells us you can wear these undies for almost every occasion.  They can be worn as underwear, beachwear, clubwear, and just about anywhere you might feel the need to be sexy and show off a little color.

Instead of names for their styles, numbers are assigned to them. I received a number 01 style for review.  It is a very bright combination of white, red, navy blue, greens, yellow, and orange strips that will make just about anyone’s head turn.  In total, Life Iz Pantz comes in about 13 different color patterns.  Life Iz Pantz only offers one size.  They recommend their undies for guys with a size 33” waist or smaller.  I am a 32” and they fit amazingly!

My Life Iz Pantz arrived in the mail, shipped in about a 2” by 2” package, and I immediately thought, “There is no way I am going to get these over my left thigh, let alone my waist.” I slipped them on and, sure enough, as they say, they stretched and molded to my exact body shape.  One thing not found in these undies is a fly or even a tag.  I did notice that I really had to examine the underwear to figure out if I was putting them on correctly.  You will find some different stitching in the pouch, guiding you as to which side is the front.

The knit fabric is very comfortable and I found these to be absolutely amazing to wear.  I have worn these not only for everyday wear, but also for lying in the sun and gym wear. They held up perfectly.  I was a little concerned when I first wore them to the gym as the stitching doesn’t appear to be that great, but they held up fine and I haven’t had any issues with the stitching or seams ripping out at all.

Overall, I really enjoyed these undies. They are unique, stylish, and versatile…three of the most important things that I look for in a pair of underwear.

Candid Underwear has always been a favorite brand of mine, so when I found out I was getting a pair of their new Houndstooth collection to review, I was very excited.  It has been a couple of months or so since I tried my first pair of Candid.  I wanted to see if my first impression of this brand lived true.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Candid as a brand, they operate under the philosophy that “men shouldn’t have to choose between comfort and style.”  They are right on when they say the look that Candid provides is chic, masculine, and fashionable.

Candid Underwear has three collections currently available and is looking at expanding even more this year.  They have a Plaid collection, the Houndstooth collection, and the Chromatic collection.  One thing I love about Candid is the way they take more well known patters like plaid and houndstooth and make them modern and fashionable again.  I think this is a trend we are starting to see more and more underwear companies turn too.

I received the yellow Houndstooth Low Rise Brief in a size medium.  When they first arrived, the first thing that caught my eye was the yellow color.  It was more of a bright gold than a true yellow, and I loved it.  It was also a nice touch how Candid tied the color and cut into the packaging.  I took them out of the package and noticed the soft feel of the fabric.  If you have read any of my other reviews, you will know that I am BIG on fabric.  It is an amazing blend of cotton and spandex, offering a nice combination of strength and stretch.

The Houndstooth comes with a white waistband with a matching yellow logo on the front.  The waist band is very comfortable and looks amazing.  I have worn these briefs to work under both jeans and dress pants and have not had a problem with them bunching or riding.  The front pouch is very roomy yet offers great support.  The cut is awesome as well.  It doesn’t ride to high on the hips and offers plenty of coverage in the rear.  The one thing I will say I didn’t care for was the back tag. The waist band is so comfortable, but I had to deal with the “itchy tag” feeling.

Overall, I really enjoyed these undies.  Candid has done a nice job of taking a traditional pattern and making them into something fun and fashionable as well as comfortable and wearable.

Candid provided me with this pair of underwear to review.

We gave away a ton of Andrew Christian jocks a few weeks back but they also sent us a jock to review.  I really love the Almost Naked line.  Michael is going to review the Almost Naked Brief and it’s amazing.  We talked about it on the podcast.  I got a chance to review the Almost Naked Jockstrap in royal blue.

As always when I put on something from the Almost Naked line, I wonder if it’s going to be too loose.  So far, I have always been proven wrong.  They really fit incredibly well.  I don’t know how Andrew came up with this design or how long he worked on it, but it is my favorite of his lines.  I put it on and wore it for another day full of errands.  I usually wear review underwear while running errands in case I don’t like them and I can take them off on the go.  I will wear them at a workday sometimes to give me a better feel for the undies.  Sounds scientific doesn’t it? Not really!  It gives me a quick impression of if I will like them.

My only complaint about the jockstrap is the leg straps get twisted. This is only a minor thing to me.  For the most part, it was only noticed if I took my pants off.  It was more aesthetic than function.  With some jocks, if the straps twist, it makes for a really uncomfortable experience.  If you are a fan of jocks, you really need to check these out.  They are perfect for daily wear.

When we got the Sports Mesh Briefs from Andrew Christian, they were going to go to Michael.  But, when they sent my size, I got to review them.  Skeptical about another pair of underwear…yes!  They are made of the sports mesh you see many basketball and work out shorts made from and they have no lining.  They aren’t necessarily see-through, but they aren’t solid.  Being made by Andrew Christian, I felt I shouldn’t have much to worry about.

I wore them to a conference I attended and I didn’t know what to expect.  When you are at an important event, there is nothing worse than having a bad fitting pair of undies.  As the day went on, I felt really good in them.  I was surprised they didn’t get hotter.  I guess the holes in the fabric allow for more air circulation.

Andrew Christian seems to have a good insight when designing underwear.  He always seems to take something that doesn’t seem as though it would work and makes a great item.  This pair also has a fun factor to it.  It’s a traditional cut with untraditional materials.

The last of the new Papi reviews is the Cotton Stretch Brief.  I am a briefs guy so I was very happy to review them.  I haven’t had too many cotton briefs lately.  I have been loving spandex/nylon blends that fit me.  It was good to try a cotton brief.

These are a fuller cut brief and really didn’t seem like it.  You know sometimes when you wear a full brief that it can feel like granny panties?  I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.  It’s huge and will drive you crazy!  These didn’t have that feeling.  They fit well and didn’t lose their form throughout the day.  I think it is great that many more companies are taking the time to make great fitting underwear that looks great as well.  Papi has done that in many of their lines.

These would be fantastic for daily wear.  Being that they are cotton, I wouldn’t recommend them for the gym.  For work, running errands, or just hanging out, I think you will really like them.  They have a mix of spandex and cotton.  In order to give Papi a great compliment…remember the original CK tighty whities, the ones that really fit great?  Well, this pair reminded me of them.  They have classical styling but a much better fit than FTL or Hanes.

You can get these from the Papi website.  As with the others, they aren’t currently available, but as soon as they are released, we will let you know.  They will retail for $16.00.  This pair was furnished for review.

I continue my reviews of Papi with the Modern Stretch Trunk.  The last one is not one my favorites, the cotton boxer briefs, but this one is what I like.  When I have worn boxer briefs/trunks, they have always been a nylon/spandex blend.  I prefer them to hold everything in place and fit like a glove.  Notice a trend here?  I don’t like loose or baggy underwear.

I have a pair of the Modern Stretch low-rise briefs and I love them.  I was all for having the chance to review these.  I wore them for another day of running around and errands.  I put them on and at first, they seemed a little loose and I wondered if I should have ordered a smaller size.  As the day went on, I was pleasantly surprised that they held up well and they weren’t as loose as I thought.

They are made of a spandex/nylon blend that really fit well and I had no issues with them.  In fact, it was a pair that I found myself not realizing they were there.  To me, that is one of the best things you can say about a pair.  You feel so comfortable you don’t feel like you are wearing undies.

I do recommend these if you want a great pair of trunks.  You can get them directly from the Papi website.  They are not currently available but will be out soon.  They will retail for $22.00.  This pair was furnished for review.

I will admit that I was very excited to receive some Papi products to review.  I have two pair of their underwear and really wanted to try more.  I have the modern stretch brief and a trunk.  Getting the chance to try more of the line…who am I to complain!  The first pair I am reviewing is the Cotton Stretch Trunk.

When I first opened them I was a little skeptical.  I am not really a fan of cotton boxer briefs.  Since the first ones CK introduced, I just haven’t ever cared for them.  They bunch, ride up, and simply drive me crazy.  I knew I had to keep an open mind.

I wore them around for a day.  I will say that I was surprised they didn’t ride up.  The legs stayed in place.  For that, I was thankful because the last time I wore cotton boxer briefs, they made it till 10 AM and I went without underwear the rest of the day.  The pair had great construction and is made from high quality cotton.  I like these and will wear them again.

These fall in the middle of the road for me.  I think it is mainly because I am not a cotton boxer brief/trunk kind of guy.  They are really well made.  I have never had any issues with Papi.  If you are a fan of cotton boxer briefs/trunks, I think you should definitely check them out.

One thing that you’ll soon discover about me is that I have a twisted, unexplainable, quirky sense of humor.  Needless to say, when my second opportunity to review a new pair of undies arrived, Tribe generated a lot of initial thoughts.  The mere word conjures up the idea of intrusive missionaries who have been captured and tied to stakes, engulfed in flames while surrounded by half-naked pigmies protecting their tribe.  Therefore, I had high expectations that this kelly green pair of Tribe boxer briefs would live up to the wild and uninhibited image the company’s name conveys.

Let me start by saying that these are the most comfortable and light-weight boxer briefs I’ve sported in quite some time.  Their first test run included wearing them at work all day and then to the gym in the afternoon.  Throughout the day, I couldn’t believe the amazingly cool and comfy feelings this pair offered while still holding its shape.  The waistband and elastic around the legs stayed in place despite the extremely soft and diverse blend of fabrics, including 94% polyester, 6%elastane, and 100% modal lining

This Modal / Polyester pair falls within Tribe’s Short Boxer line and it’s perfect for the active guy as these are designed to hold you in all the right places.  Per the Australian based company, this blend is ideal for the gym as it has 50% more moisture regain and air flow than cotton.  Modal will not pill, is anti-crease, and will retain its brilliant color.  Some noticeable detailing includes the Tribe logo that is front and centered at the top of the waistband.  Double stitching runs around the entire waist and down the center of the pouch in addition to around the bottom of each leg lending to a well balanced and symmetrical esthetic.

While I don’t care to join those missionaries back at the camp anytime soon, I do feel my inner tribal instincts surface every time I slip into these well fitting, sporty boxer briefs.

When Tim provided me my first pair of underwear to review for UNB, I was excited and yet a little surprised when he handed me some lime green (chartreuse) 2wink briefs.  The Australian manufacturer has cleverly selected the appropriate color for spring, which caught my eye and peaked my interested.  While I’m not traditionally a fan of briefs, I wanted to give them a fair chance and see if briefs would be something I might consider again in adding to my collection.

After throwing them in the wash for an initial cleaning, I immediately threw them on and was amazed at how well these medium size undies fit and truly how you can’t deny the comfort of a 100% cotton brief.  I was initially concerned that the brief might be a little binding and restricted so I decided to take them out on test run by wearing then all day during a photography field trip.  Suffice to say,  I was extremely pleased and amazed at how well they held up throughout the day with all the bending, squatting and physical movement that the pair endured.  The second and third time I wore these pair, I chose to try them out at the gym.  Again, they consistently held up throughout my workout and didn’t even become a realization that I was even wearing briefs.  Bottom line, at the end of my rigorous testing, I wasn’t able to distinguish between these briefs and the traditional boxer briefs that I normally gravitate towards.

Some of the constructional attributes that I noticed include the following: The legs in the briefs are cut a little on the high side but are sure to accentuate a pair of muscular legs.  The white waist band is constructed and sewn well around the waist and has retained its elasticity after several washes.  In my opinion, there’s nothing worse than a cheap waistband that falls apart at the seams, stretches out and losses its supportability.  The company’s 2wink logo is embroidered continually around the waist band in dark gray lettering.  One esthetic note includes the word ‘Loaded’ printed in white just below the waist band on the left hand side of the brief along the hip, which leaves open to interpretation.

I have been a facebook fan of Tribe for sometime now.  When I was given the awesome privilege to review Tribe’s Printed Mesh Trunk, I jumped on it.  I am so happy I did.  They are a super comfortable, black, white, and lime green sheer trunk.  Anyone who has followed UNB for any length of time probably knows I love sheer undies, that is, as long as I am able to have the support and I am able to show off for my wife at the same time.

I love the design of the fabric.  It gives coverage and style.  The pattern is fun and has a splash of color that gives it an extra punch.  There was no binding and no riding…simply pure comfort from the time I put them on in the morning until I took them off that evening.

These undies are stylish, comfortable, breathable, and made of soft, stretchy mesh material.  The front pouch is lined with 100% Natural Modal for extra comfort.  It seems that Australia really knows how to produce underwear and here is additional proof!

Thank you, Tribe, for sending these awesome trunks for us to try.  I really enjoyed them.

I was recently asked to review some Candyman Fashions from their 2009 collection.  One pair I picked to review was the Sailor Boxer.  They are very comfortable and hold everything where it belongs.  I love support and was very pleased with what they provide.  I am not a big boxer brief fan as I prefer less coverage but these were awesome.  The legs were comfortable and did not bind or ride up.  I totally forgot I was wearing boxers.  They are festive and fun.

My family has a history with the U.S. Navy and I grew up around water so I have an affinity to anything nautical.  I love the sea air, the sounds of the ocean, the smell of the salty breeze and the joy of swimming in the bay.  These undies bring that all back to me.

These undies are fun and eye catching with a gold chain at the front of the waist and a little gold anchor decal on the leg.  They are made of 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex.

Thank you, Candyman Fashion, for sending these awesome boxers for us to try.  I really enjoyed them.

Bone Wear is yet another new brand I have recently added to my underwear drawer.  It was a brand I had heard a lot about and had seen in promotional emails and featured in online stores, but I had never really been so intrigued to buy.  When I found out I was getting a pair of their new Bijou boxers, I was very interested in giving this brand a try.

Bone Wear is located in South Africa and is their only international underwear company.  They strive to bring “men a unique range of well designed and high quality underwear, gym wear, and swim wear made from the best fabrics.”  They are right on with their philosophy.  When I first looked at this pair of undies, the quality and fabric were the two things that stood out the most.

I received the square Bijou Boxer in a black sized medium to review.  Simply looking at the pictures online, you wouldn’t think there is anything that sets this pair of boxer brief style undies apart from any other boxer brief.  Once you get these in your hand, you can definitely tell these undies are special.  The Bijou line gets its name from the type of spandex that Bone Wear uses its construction.  Bone Wear wanted to make sure this cut, looking like a typical boxer brief or trunk, was a little looser fitting and offered in a wide range of colors.  The Bijou fabric is some of the softest spandex material I have ever felt.  I have reviewed my share of undies and have felt lots of different fabrics, but this is something everyone should experience.  The boxer is well constructed with a contrasting white triple stitch on all the seams and a white logo waistband.  The pouch is very roomy and the fabric is breathable, feeling great under jeans, gym shorts, or dress pants.

I have worn these multiple times, not only to work but to the gym and a night out on the town.  They wore great no matter what test I threw at them.  One thing I did enjoy is the fact that the loose fit still offered support without being restricting.

Overall, I really enjoyed these undies.  They aren’t going to catch someone’s eye, but they will give you a lightweight comfortable fit.
