Geovanny is another one I got to meet at Magic. He’s a former dancer turned underwear designer. I know I sound like a broken record, but he’s doing some really great designs in underwear. I think we are going through like a renaissance in men’s underwear. I mean every time you turn around lately someone is doing something with color, patter or design. The reason I really love these is I think the designs really flatter a guy. I thin the placement of the seams really accent and show off all his assets. He has designed them with the seams in front that give it a really great looking pouch. I think he took the time out to really think about underwear should fit a man. I got the chance to spend some time with the boys from Skmpeez at Magic in February. They were a lot of fun and I got to see the preview of this collection. I think they are really doing some fun and innovative things in the world of men’s swimwear! They have mixed things I never thought of, but it looks traditional. When you look closer you see more patters, prints and just interesting designs. I think they are really fun.
Here is the inspiration for this years’ collection: SKMPEEZ attempts to take the old and make it new again. Much of the 2010
SKMPEEZ collection has a retro feel to it. Inspired by both the 70’s and 80’s, SKMPEEZ draws colours and shapes from both time periods making this collection very bright and vibrant. The 2010 collection also takes many classic patterns such as houndstooth, gingham and plaid and adds it’s own modern twist and flare to it.

Feel the summer heat in Peter D. Brown‘s latest shoot featuring Italian/Greek god Maurice Lombardo and muscle pool boi Brandon McCormick in and out of DMK-Designs. Peter shot the guys venturing out of a summer jungle right into the pool -(DMK’s unique line of exotic print ringed thongs let you get wet). Brandon shows his powerfully muscled torso poolside in wet tiger. Maurice eventually gets completely naked, holding his blue leopard DMK. After the eight-week-long submissions process ends, three celebrity judges, including reality TV star Jack Mackenroth (Project Runway), award-winning comedienne Deven Green (“Welcome to My…” parody series) and Pinstripe Magazine Editor-in-Chief Marv Valladares, will enter various rounds of judging over the course of two weeks before selecting the winning design, taking into account factors like the best use of color, most creative pattern and other criteria.
Once the winning design is chosen by the team of judges, the brand expects to have 5,000 limited-edition pairs manufactured within eighteen weeks and ready to hit 2wink’s on-line store shelves shortly after. 2wink will donate 50-percent of its net sales profits of the winning design directly to fight prostate cancer. Currently, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men, behind only lung cancer. A non-smoking man is more likely to develop prostate cancer than he is to develop colon, bladder, melanoma, lymphoma and kidney cancer combined. This year, in America alone, more than 32,000 men will die from the disease and more than 218,000 new cases will be diagnosed, according to Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Contest entries must be received no later than August 26, 2010. All original designs are eligible and contestants must design the entire pair. All colors are allowed and the waistband width is 4 cm. Entries must be submitted via e-mail in either .pdf or .jpg format to events@2wink.com.au.
All designs entered will become the property of 2wink Pty. Ltd., which reserves the right to manufacture any design without compensation or with notifying the entrant. The winner of the contest must be willing to sign a release form. Entries must include name, mailing address and contact details for participant.
