We get a chance to tell you guys about a GREAT Australia swimwear brand AussieTogs. They are doing some cool things I think you guys should know about. Including their one piece swimwear for men. Here is our Interview.
Can you tell our readers a little bit about your brand, if they aren’t familiar with it?
We have been selling men’s swimwear since the umbrella Boobah swimwear since 2004 as a Men’s category. The range then was basic briefs, speedos, trunks, muscle singlets but that was all that was needed then.
In 2009 we found the need for splitting the tiny bikinis from Boobah swimwear- so we established Sunbabe swimwear website and specialised it for micro bikinis and one pieces
We also found that each website had a different audience so we had to sell the Men’s range on “Sunbabe swimwear” as well as Boobah
However we were gradually getting requests for smaller briefs then thong and g string so and by public demand we started filling that gap
What made you start a men’s swimwear brand?
It got to a point where it was impossible to market the men’s on both websites as well as maintaining it, so Aussie togs was born early 2018- by the time the trade mark was patented it was October 2018 when Aussie togs became independent and on its own, so then the customers that were buying the product from the previous 2 websites were then re-directed to the new landing- and so new social media pages were created and it took off from there effortlessly because of the mother label Boobah that was established 20 years ago, which Aussie togs is a part of and made in the same factory as well as Sunbabe
What sets your brand apart from other swim brands on the market?
Renowned for quality. We offer a huge colour range and sizes, open to modifications- offer unlined if they specify in customer note box or have it made in a colour not offered by request. Flexibility
Can you tell us about what your best sellers currently are?
In the one piece “m800” “m802”
You have an amazing secretion of one piece swimwear for men, what made you design this style for men?
We were running our own retail store up until a couple of years ago and it was by request from one customer at a time basically, since I am always open to filling a gap and designing is my forte
It was music to my ears, every time I created one, we sold it on the web site and more ideas were thrown at me, more requests and there are many more to come
What has been the feedback on this style?
Repeated orders are the best feedback, guys are really happy that someone out there is creating what they want unselfishly and willing to do more for them!
When I get appreciation like little thank you notes, phone calls and emails it becomes my inspiration. I love designing the men’s range. It has become my passion!
Why do you think men have taken to this style?
Men have been desiring the freedom of wearing thong and g string for a long time I feel they were just waiting for an opening by someone like me and to see other men wearing them has encouraged them the more
So slowly it is evolving in a way to see more and more men on the beach wearing thong without being snubbed!
Who is the guy who will be rocking a one piece this summer?
A guy that wants to stand out from the crowd, also its not just for the beach, body builders would embrace the on piece, bike riders, gym addicts!

Our initial launch of Bruto jockstraps and tank tops was such a huge success it was a no-brainer to expand the line. In case you don’t know, Bruto (by Estevez) is a collection of sexy essential jocks, briefs and tanks geared to bears, otters, wolves, daddies (and admirers) and joining our existing collection of fun, body-positive gear are 5 new jocks and briefs designs.
First things first: The fabric of both the jocks and briefs are made of a super fast dry fabric that’s incredible, super-soft and feels phenomenal against your boys. Plus, the colors are vibrant using sublimation printing so they don’t fade or crack.
The jockstraps all have a regular-size pouch but they have four-way stretch with more stretch in it’s length than width to accommodate most guys comfortably. With a very masculine looking black two-and-a-half inch wide waistband with the iconic Bruto Bear logo front and center. In back, two comfort one-inch-wide leg straps perfectly frame your ass.
The Briefs are made with panels of fabric. The pouch is contoured and isolated with piping separating it from the rest of the brief. The contouring, along with the piping edging the pouch, you’ll always be sporting your best bulge.
In either the jock or briefs, choose from these fun Bear-centric fabrics:
Teddy Bear: The fabric has repeating teddy bears donned in leather biker’s caps and harnesses against a blue background and edged with black piping.
Kuma Bear: The fabric has repeating illustrated muscle bears, Japanese lettering which I assume means Kuma (bear in English) and also the word BEAR all in black on a light blue background.
Bear Flag: This fabric has stripes in the bear flag colors. While the brief is new, we’ve carried the jockstrap for quite some time.

MeUndies has been one of the most innovative underwear companies of the past few years. And, just a few weeks ago, they announced a huge update that I personally couldn’t be more thrilled about: they are now selling jockstraps and thongs. Yes, you heard that right.
I don’t think the brand gets nearly enough acclaim on this blog and among folks in what I would call “the underwear world,” but this hopefully will change that. This is a win/win for the brand. I do love Speedos, not just the swim briefs but the brand. I used to wear them years ago when I was on a master’s swim team. One of the new pairs I love from Speedo is the Color-Blocked speedo. I love the width of the sides and the super tight fit that Speedos have, the fabric feels great and I still remember the first time I slid on a pair of Speedos and it blew me away.

When you think of Speedo, Olympic swimmers come to mind, or at least competitive swimmers. Note, you can’t use the term “Speedo” to cover all swim briefs. But I won’t give a lesson on Copywrite protection. But they have always focused just on competitive swimming and rarely stepped outside of that box.
Speedo started a new campaign for their Vibe collection. Their message is, “you can wear your practice suits outside of the pool.” I feel the only time they step outside of this box is for the Solar suits. If you aren’t familiar, the solar suits are bikini cut with one-inch sides. I know many of our readers love this suit.
I think Speedo could market some of their suits for people outside of the lap pool. More guys are wearing smaller swimwear. I like the classic Speedo suits. I think they look good on many different body types. Especially beefy guys, the 3-inch sides, I believe, are a good look.
The new campaign I initially saw in a video on Facebook. The campaign is focused on friends at a day at the beach rather than performance. This got me thinking, why hasn’t Speedo ever done this type of campaign before, or why haven’t they created a fun collection for the beach?
First, they have the money to do such a campaign. They have been around for over 50 years and are a staple in the world of swimming. Next, Speedo could use the same designs and use different and fun fabric featuring bolder colors and prints. Third, the collection could be a limited edition for summer. Lastly, if the campaign is successful making it a yearly campaign with new, limited edition designs each summer.
