N2N Re-Releases the Liquid skins in blue

If you are a fan of metallics and haven’t tried the Liquid Skins collection you are missing out! This collection started with a black then a bright silver. Now they have released the Blue Metalic. Just a note that if you’re like me, some of the XL maybe limited so go shop now or you will be kicking yourself for missing out on this!

The styles released are Liquid Skins collection. Bikini, Sports Brief, shorts, singlet, G, and pants. As I said before it was originally in black and had a rubber-like look. Review – Jovana Design 4D Thong

I purchased the Jovana Design 4D Thong in neon pink for this review.

Rating: 8/10 (Average of the ratings below)

Pros:

  • HEAD TURNING SUIT!
  • Anatomical pouch accentuates your package
  • ANYBODY can find a color they like from Jovana’s extensive palette

Cons:

  • Center/rear strap is almost wider than the side straps
  • Almost hard to get into because the pouch opening is so tight

UNB Ryan’s recommendation: This thong is TINY!  If you’ve ever wanted a true “micro” thong made specifically for men, this is it! It is truly a head turner anywhere you wear it, even when other guys are wearing thongs! I will add that if you are the least bit timid about wearing a thong swimsuit, you should probably try something else before venturing out in one of Jovana’s suits!

Jovana Design custom makes all of their suits to order, and it is evident with the thought that they put into their design options and color choices.  You can customize almost all of their suits to your liking, and they offer color choices to suit all personalities!  Jovana pays particular attention to detail and will craft your suit exactly how you ask them to.  They offer dozens of unique designs, some that are “acceptable” as swimwear, and others that may be better suited for more private occasions.  I am normally pretty bold in my swimwear choices, but this suits’ design, coupled with the Neon Pink fabric even made me a little uneasy the first time I slid my shorts off on the beach while wearing it!  Not exactly outside of my comfort level, but it sure pushed it!

I have worn this suit on several occasions over the 2017 swim season.  I frequently visit the beach on the Outer Banks of NC and a couple of places throughout Hampton Roads, VA where I have worn this suit.  The suit is comfortable to wear long term after you manage to squeeze into it!  The tiny (1/4”) side straps make you quickly forget that you are wearing anything at all (until you get home and see the tiny tan lines it leaves) and the pouch keeps everything in place all day long with minimal adjustments.  The pouch does hold your package in an upright and “package-forward” orientation, so you’ll have to keep that in mind when deciding when and where it is appropriate to wear!  I found that out the hard way last year in Norfolk, VA (more on that in another post.)  You have to manipulate the pouch to stretch everything inside, but once you have the fit is amazing!  There is no extra fabric, and the suit fits like a glove!

I have only purchased this one suit from Jovana, but will buy more from them in the future.  The construction is outstanding and has lasted an entire season without and noticeable signs of fraying or unraveling.  The elastic has retained its strength even with repeated exposure to sun and saltwater.  My only complaint has been the fabric faded fairly quickly.  It has still retained the base color but is nowhere near as vibrant as the day that they arrived.

Again, I don’t exactly have a long-standing history of the brand but feel they are fairly accurate in being sized in accordance with industry standards.  I wear a size small in almost everything, and these were no exception.  The only thing that you need to keep in mind with this suit is that it comes in two different variants, the 4D Thong and the 4D Thong micro (which is what I reviewed.)  The micro is exactly what you would expect, TINY!  The normal version of the suit has a larger pouch which guys who are more largely endowed would find better suited.  The pouch is VERY low and barely covers your package.  I have to pull it up from time to time to make sure nothing is showing that shouldn’t be.  The only thing I would ask for if I were to order this suit again is for the rear/center strap to match the side straps in width.  The center strap is about ¾” in width, which is still fairly skimpy, but feels a but out of place on a suit that is this small, to begin with.

I will absolutely buy more suits from Jovana Design.  I have enjoyed wearing this suit in the sun this year and look forward to replacing it with additional designs from Jovana’s catalog.  I would also like to purchase some underwear for more frequent wear as they have some pretty daring designs in that arena as well.  My big suggestion to Jovana Design (as would be with any other non-US companies) is that they find a way to work with a stateside distributor to make it simpler for ordering and shipping.

What size are you? Gigo Tells You

Underwear sizing is all over the map. Some brands have inconsistent sizes among different lines. Gigo has produced this video to show you what size you are in their underwear. I wish more brands would do this! It’s not the sexiest video but its one that I think will help more guys find underwear.

If you speak Spanish you will be able to read the video text. However, being fluent in Spanish is not necessary. It’s pretty self-explanatory. It tells you how to measure your waist and shoulders to find your correct size in Gigo underwear!

Go for the Gold in Garçon Model Gold collection

Garçon Model is out with a new collection called Gold! This is a mix of classic and modern. You may be asking why am I saying this? It’s because the underwear is a very classic cut and colors. Black and white are the only two colors. Mix that with the two styles of harnesses and you have an awesome combination.

This works so well that I didn’t realize at first the two pairs of underwear could be considered basics. It’s this kind of thinking outside of the box that makes Garçon Model such a force in the world of underwear. The harness comes in two different styles, they are a chest or shoulder harness. The chest is a bulldog type of harness. While the shoulder harness just goes over the shoulders. (as you can see in the pics). They are made out of the same elastic as the waistband of both of the Gold pairs.

Speaking of the Gold line the two colors are named the Miramar and San Marco. The Miramar is the black in the collection, whereas the San Marco is the white. These are the only two colors in the lineup. I usually want there to be other colors but this one is awesome the way it is.

It’s been a while since we last reported on BoyRio, but we can say they are going to make a comeback! They have just launched their Kickstarter to relaunch!  The first time I met BoyRio was in Vegas in I believe 2011. He was showing the line and I met quite a few amazing people that trip that I still keep in touch. Flash forward to 2017 and I was in my hotel room in Birmingham because we were shooting the UNB Holiday Guide the next day. David told me about the campaign over Facebook Messenger and I knew I had to post. It’s been a hot minute since we have posted about a Kickstarter on here. Nylon Underwear, JG2 is making a classic!

Have you tried Nylon underwear or are you a big fan that can’t find it? Back in the 80’s there were plenty of brands making nylon underwear. Bikinis and briefs were easy to find. Mix the fabric with bright colors and it was a winning combination. Then we moved into the 90’s and we entered the world of black, white, or grey. On top of that was the introduction of the boxer brief. Most mainstream undies moved in this direction. This made many of the nylon underwear companies without a market. They either changed their business model or went out of business.

Over the last 10 years or so I have seen more companies producing the old standard nylon undies. They have a sub “fetish” group under men’s undies that love these styles. I hate to call it a fetish, I should say preference. Before you run out and get some nylon undies there are some things you need to know. If you’ve never worn them, first thing is they aren’t stretchy. If you’re used to spandex and such, these don’t have that much give. Also, they aren’t super body hugging. Which is not always a bad thing. I prefer the brief or bikini cut in Nylon. It sorta creates a pouch out of the fabric that gives you support.

One company that has been around since 1994 is still making these undies. That company is JG2. This is how they describe themselves. They “address a market segment that most designers and manufacturers of men’s underwear routinely ignored, treated as a fashion fetish, or relegated to novelty status. That market segment is: men’s nylon underwear”

They currently offer bikinis, thongs, and boxer (well boxer briefs). The colors are more on the pastel side but I think it really works with the pairs they offer. The pricing is around $15 a pair. I am going to reach out to the brand and find out more info about them. I just wanted to pass this along to you guys who love nylon undies and can’t find them! Shop JG2.

Poll – Do you wear jocks, results

Jocks are not as popular as thongs right now. I say this because we only had 26 of you guys respond to this poll. Which is fine! Next we’ll make sure to ask more thong questions! 2009 was the year of the jock and they have become a staple of the underwear world. They aren’t going away but they still have a loyal following.

This is not a scientific poll by any means but it’s fun to see what you guys think. First, It was very interesting to see that 50% of you guys wear them to work and while participating in sports. I was sure the watching sports would have been higher. Next, date night was number two! This I figured would be lower on the list, but its up top. Lastly, is the Gym.  I know many guys wear them but didn’t expect the number to be so high.

4 Hunks wants you to feel the Thunder

4 Hunks has a jock many of you will be interested in. The Extra Bulge Jock Bicolour –  Thunder Jock, is one that is supposed to give you an extra large bulge. Enhancing underwear is always popular but mix it with some fetish and you have a winning combination!

The front of the jock is more of a bikini cut than a jock. When you think Jock, you immediately think of a wide waistband. This pair has what would be considered a bikini waistband. Very small covered from the front to the back. The back has about an inch of fabric around the back to give it the look of a traditional band. The waistband plays into the enhancing effect. “Especially relevant is the no waistband, because the jock if made to fit the male body than to the opposite, as a result you get that full dropping packed Bulge look.”

The leg straps are the traditional size. Unlike regular jocks these jocks have a multicolor band. They are black with a yellow or red stripe down the strap. If you couldn’t tell the pair comes in two different colors, Red and yellow. Made out of a 95% Cotton 05% Elastane fabric blend.

This pair really intrigues me in the way it is designed. When thinking of most enhancing undies there are always waistbands, straps and more. To see how they create this effect with this is intriguing. 4 Hunks is on the border of sports gear and fetish. I think that’s the reason I love the designs so much. Mix this with a harness (one from 4 Hunks or a leather one) and it’s a perfect combination!
