426584a9-af2f-44a5-9a0e-02dc7537024c2EROS makes such amazing underwear and swimwear. They have been branching out into more and more workout wear. The newest collection out Monday (October 12) is pretty awesome. Just when I think 2EROS can’t out do themselves they bring out something like BLK AKTIV. The new line is very fashion forward and fun. Jason at 2EROS has a great eye for design.

What is included in the collection? Cropped Sweater, Joggers, Compression Tights, Windbreaker, Sweater, T-shirt, tank and shorts. All BLK! Its a definite different take on the world of men’s work out wear. 2EROS reimagined what it means to wear work out wear! So what do they say about the collection? Here is what they told us:

A luxury activewear collection which “webs” functionality and style. The mesh and “silk web” like embellishments are inspired by the lightness, mobility and resilience of a spider’s silk web. Like the spider BLK AKTIV has many forms, from bottoms, to tops and outerwear, all which are precisely design for form, functionality and style.

BLK stands confidently with the black colour pallet, a staple that fits into any wardrobe, and that is the essence of this collection. It is active wear that is not restrained only to the gym or ‘working out’ but is active wear you can wear out.

This collection features a number of high performance fabrics that shapes and smooths your figure as well as sweat wicking and antibacterial technology.

Find it at the 2EROS website on Monday October 12th.

2(X)ist Releases the2(X)ist has released a few new lines. One of the newest is the Double Diamond. You maybe asking why do they call it the “Double Diamond?” Well I’m glad you asked, the collection is called this due to the fabric and the waistband. The waistband is a lot of fun but the pair overall is very classic.

When we met with 2(X)ist in Vegas in February Jason gave us a preview of the Double Diamond collection. The fabric is an embossed fabric that has squares turned on the point to form diamonds. The fabric is a wicking fabric that is perfect for being active and on the go. Made out of 92% Polyester / 8% Spandex.

The waistband is my favorite part of this pair. The Double Diamond really comes out. Much like other collections 2(X)ist really pays attention to detail. The waistbands either match or accent the main body color. The 2(X)ist logo is on the left hip. It’s fun but not totally over the top. They described it as a ombre waistband!

The styles that are in the Double Diamond are the No-Show Brief and No-Show Trunk. The colors available are Cobalt, Blue Danube, Formula One (red) and Black. The pairs retail for $26 for the brief and $30 for the Trunk. Find this and more at the 2(X)ist website.

Introducing

Let’s face it, how many reading this blog could be considered an underwear model? I would say few and far between. Now how many have trouble finding underwear that fits in the waist? Speaking from experience, I am in no way a 32 waist and will never ben that size again. Bigger guys are wanting great undies! If you are this kind of guy you will love the new sizes Obviously just released!

Obviously has added sizes to the Basics collection featuring the new AnatoMAX™ pouch. The sizes are X-large, 2X-Large and 3X-Large. The sizes in inches are: XL 40-442XL 46-48 and 3X is 50-52. The colors in the collection are Black, White, Gray and Graphite and feature Obviously’s custom blend of MicroModal and Lycra fabric for maximum comfort.

It’s great that companies are paying attention to the market. Not all of us fit in the 30-36 waist range. I fluctuate and have found times where I can’t wear brands due to their sizing. Obviously should be commended on what they are doing because ALL guys deserve amazing underwear! That’s what we stand for here at UNB!

Find the Basics on the Obviously site!

maze

We have quite a few fans of Male Power. They are a company that creates super sexy underwear. Some of their pairs are dare to bare! But that is not the case with the new Maze line. The the thong is as wild as this collection gets! The print is pretty fun!  Here is what they tell us about the collection.

The Maze is designed to amaze. Crafted from an entangled fabric with a bold, black and white print, it is distinctive, figure enhancing and eye catching. Just as importantly, it is created to be soft and pliable for cushiony comfort, and the natural pouch provides ample support. Choose the Mini-Short with low rise waist and high cut legs; the Bong Thong with low rise waist and one inch back and sides; or the Lo Rise Bikini with low rise waist, one inch sides and full coverage in back.

Initial impression of the BodyAware Showstopper Bodysuit was this is the same bright soft material as the leggings. This was the last item I had tried on of the three I had received. I had gotten the Neon Yellow color, which looked more like a very bright neon green.  Like the Neon Softleggings, and it had a hot pink trim along the openings. This bodysuit comes in two other colors, Hot Pink (which has the neon orange trim) and Neon Orange (which has the neon yellow trim).

I have worn these condo around the condo as well as went out to the bars with them. They held up very well walking around the condo and while at the bar.

For sizing, the website says a Large is 34-36” in the waist and 39-41” in the chest, so I had gotten the large. I believe this is the standard sizing for a body suit, and it fit me very well.

For likes and dislikes of this bodysuit; I really enjoyed the fit and color. It really shows off the chest, package and butt, plus with the bright color you stand out in a dark bar.

Pros:

  • Fun bright color
  • Good Sizing
  • Excellent cut
  • Amazing Material

Cons:

  • None

Rating:

  • Daily Fit – 9.5
  • Sizing – 9.5
  • Construction – 9.5
  • Styling – 9
  • Daily Performance – 9
  • Overall – 9.3

BodyAware furnished this pair for review. You can find the Showstopper Bodysuit on the BodyAware site for $39.50. Also comes in Neon Orange and Hot Pink.

So here in Seattle (and I am SURE all around the world) we have some {gay} clubs that enjoying having Underwear Nights. Now of course this will sound overly sexual to many people. Other people will stick with their beliefs that most people going to underwear nights are probably “not the ones you want to see if underwear”. To both of those I say, BULLSHIT.

Okay, so you like, love, or enjoy underwear so why not go to an underwear night? They give you a chance to show off your newest or best pair in a comfortable, controlled setting. How better to discover new brands or styles then when you’re having a drink with friends or new friends at a bar?

Let’s talk nerves. Yes, it can be incredibly nerve-wracking. You are electing to shed everything, well almost everything, to a bar full of people. Talk about exposed. Remember, you’re not alone in this. It can be uncomfortable at first and maybe it will take time to feel natural again but I promise it is worth it. And of course it is always the moment right before that’s the most scary.  Either right before entering the club, right before deciding to go.  Or right before having to take off that first piece of clothing. Breath, take one moment, and then do it!

It can be an amazing rush to ultimately become confident and strong by making yourself vulnerable to everyone there. It’s one of those funny conundrums of life that an act of exposure and openness can make you the most whole and invincible. Will you still fidget, adjust, check and double check? Of course but that’s no problem, we all do it.

Sexuality and sexual energy does not need to have anything to do with the night. Oddly, think of it as a form of natural, nudism.  Yhe point is not to hook up the point is to spend an evening with fairly likeminded people just being you. Our undies are a form of self-expression and that does not need to be sexual in nature. At these nights one often just ends up chatting with friends or strangers.  Rnjoying a strongly poured cocktail or two and just being.

As to the people who assume that “the ones in their underwear are not the ones you’d want to see in their underwear.”  all I can say to them is, “you’re an asshole”.

I like to believe that for every one in their underwear. Rhere is someone out there that wants to see them in their underwear. Perhaps the people that say that are just self-conscience or scared.  Perhaps they are so closed minded that what they think of as an attractive person is the only kind. Either way, it’s too bad for them because they are missing out on a great experience.

This last weekend I went to back to back underwear nights in Seattle. One was at a bar I had never been to and the other was a city staple for this kind of night. I had a blast at both. Everything from the selection process of the underwear, to the meeting up with friends, to the hanging out and being just completely comfortable was great. Plus, getting compliments on my undies was a hoot as well (this weekend was all about CellBlock13 and PUMP! for me). I also saw some new styles I had not seen before and that was a thrill as well.

So, underwear nights, I say try it. I say go for it. I say have a blast. Remember, so many of us love and cherish our underwear for how it makes us feel. Getting to put that out there for everyone to see is empowering. Be brave, be bold, be you…in undies…at the bar

RSH_A_6My first reaction to the Up-Front brief was it leave nothing to the imagination. It’s a very lightweight sheer material. I was not wrong in my first reaction. I was however, completely in love with the color of a light blue almost robins egg.

Once I wore the Up-Front Briefs even for a few minutes a few things became very apparent… One, I love how they felt on my skin. Two I needed to trim up quite a bit.

I love to wear these under my slacks for work. They have a way of making any man feel very sexy while wearing any pair of pants.

I got the large size in briefs and im very glad I did. The briefs have a full back, which I love. They have a very nice pouch in front that almost pushes up your manhood, but not in another brands too much way. Its just the right about of showing off.

Pros:

  • color and fit
  • accent stitching
  • full seat

Cons:

  • None

Rating:

  • Daily fit – 10
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 9
  • Daily Performance -10
  • Overall – 9.5

My First Impression of the bodysuit was how sheer it was and how soft it felt against my skin. This was the first piece I had ever tried on from BodyAware. Since this way my first item from BodyAware I wanted to go with a classic black color.

I have wore this item around the house several times and everything I told myself. “Wow… I really love the way this feels.” I wore this to take the dog out side on our back deck since the genital areas were not mesh but a solid black color.

I went with the Medium size and im glad I did. It fit my body like a glove and showed off what I wanted it to. It showed off my obliques and my arms very well. It also showed off my backside very well. Because of the cut in the seat of the body suit was made for a slender body frame like mine. If you are a larger man I would recommend a larger size…

im 6’1 and 175, so a shorter wider man would need a larger size. This garment was made for lean muscular type man such as myself. Some of the things I liked about this garment were the comfort, how it was cut, how it showed off my torso.  I only had two things I would improve on this garment. One is how the front genital area is cut. Its as it it was bade out of a box of fabric that’s not flattering to the male antimony. The second is how the back of the garment is constricted. While I understand what it was put together this way, I feel like there were several ways to solve this problem.

Pros:

  • Great feeling material
  • Excellent cut to the front of the garment
  • Love the two part sheer and full coverage areas

Cons:

  • How the back two piece attached
  • The front crotch area

Ratings:

  • Daily fit- 10 amazing!
  • Sizing -9
  • Construction-8
  • Daily performance-9
  • Overall-9

So what is Merino? Merino is some of the softest and finest wool on the market. It is commonly used in high performance athletic wear for it’s properties over synthetic fabrics. Those properties are regulating body temperature, draws moisture from the body, has antimicrobial abilities and an amazing warmth to weight ratio. (Info gathered from Wikipedia for Merino Sheep). Now that we know what Merino is let’s talk about the line!

This range is made for performance and comfort. aussieBum is one of those companies that loves to experiment with new fabrics. Until this range I was not aware of Merino wool. Although, after reading out the wool, it seems like this is a perfect fabric for underwear. It not only can keep you warm but keep moisture away from the body! I think this is pretty awesome!

So how does aussieBum describe the range:

Merino is world first in men’s underwear design incorporating a merino wool waistband. Innovation and functionality is what makes this a style leader in the field of thermal comfort. Absolute luxury in quality, fit and most importantly comfort. No expense has been spared in developing the world’s first Merino wool waistband that provides additional comfort in extreme heat and cold weather. Merino delivers where other brands have failed to deliver when using merino wool as its core fibre. If there is one style to have always in your underwear draw, we highly recommend ‘Merino’. The best of the best is comfort, quality and performance.

The range has the typical styles we know from aussieBum, the brief and hipster. The colors of the range are black and grey with a red aussieBum waistband. The fabric content is 94% Merino Wool, 6% Elastane. The brief retails for $28.34 and hipster is $29.34  at the aussieBum site

IMG_7126So I recently decided that it was time to scale back my underwear collection.  Gasp, yes I actually said that out loud.  Not to say I have a problem getting rid of them, but I do have a few pairs that I graduated from college with me a couple of decades ago.  The thing is, my tastes in underwear have evolved over the years.  I used to wear strictly briefs.  That was my thing.  I gradually added a few jocks here or there but only wore them for “special occasions”.  That worked for me for years and years.

Then I started to branch out and tried some skimpier bikinis.  What had I been missing all that time?  I was hooked.  So all those briefs went into hiding in my dresser and storage box in the closet.  In the last two years I have really started to enjoy wearing thongs as well.  So my beloved briefs began to gather dust.  About a year ago I decided it was time to purge the collection of the ones that I never wear anymore.  Some just didn’t float my boat anymore, others don’t fit as well (damn this aging thing).

I had a moment of silence as I began to sort through them, the pile of unwanted undies growing ever larger.  Was I really about to throw out so many pairs that had stood the test of time?  I had a hamper full of underwear to go through.  In the end they all went right back where they came from in the dresser and storage boxes.   The best laid plans and all that jazz went right out the window.

Fast forward a year.  I’m moving into a new home soon and have been purging all sorts of things from my current home.  Things that have been in closets since I moved here 4 years ago.  So it only seems natural that I revisit the idea of slimming down my underwear collection.  Realistically, I probably wear about a fourth  of them regularly.

Again I find myself in a dilemma.  What do I do?  I’ve gotten as far as separating the ones I know I want to keep and the ones that no longer fit.  There’s an entire drawer full of underwear that I should part with but am still on the fence about.  Every day I pull a pair or two out and either put it in the keep pile or throw it in the to-go box.  Every time I put another pair in that box I feel a little sad.  It’s like I’m saying goodbye to long time friends.  But hey, I’ve made lots of new “friends” lately and, since I clearly have an obsession, will be making plenty more in the future.  Out with the old and in with the new.   There’s got to be a therapy group for this somewhere.
