Review: Big Banana Brief from ABC Underwear

As I have said before, we receive a ton of underwear from ABC Underwear to review. My newest pair is the Big Banana brief. You may be asking “What exactly is a Big Banana brief?”

The Big Banana is a pair of white briefs with a banana on the front smiling, saying “big banana”!  I have to say that these are really fun (and this is coming from someone who’s not big into novelty undies).

I decided to be open-minded and give it a try. I wore them for a day of meetings thinking that this would give me a good feel about how they fit.  I really like how simple they are and I’ve always felt that there was something to be said for a simple pair of undies.  The fit was just ok to me. It wasn’t the best; I was hoping for a little more pouch room and hoping that it would move with me through out the day.

The undies are 100% cotton, so the stretch wasn’t very good, which made me a little disappointed, because these are perfect undies to show off for a fun date night!

Pros:

  • Fun front Banana
  • Very simple classic look

Cons

  • Fit was just “ok”
  • Wished for a better pouch

Review: Cocksox Carnivore Sports Brief

I just reviewed the Cocksox Carnivore jockstrap and now I get to try the Carnivore sport brief.  A while back I tried the sports brief and had a problem with the tag where it caused minor irritation.  This time I hoped I wouldn’t have the same issue.

You will be glad to know there are no problems with the tag irritating.  The pair fit well for Cocksox.  As a warning though… normally I tell everyone to get a size down from what you normally wear, but I did and they were just a bit tight. I guess that gives me a reason to work out some more!

The underwear itself is very well made. They have the amazing pouch that Cocksox is known for, and really show off what you have! I find the animal print super hot. I don’t know what it is about the design, but it is just a lot of fun. I like that this pair has a waistband. It adds something to the line and gives a different feel.

The Cocksox sports briefs are super fun and perfect for the guy that wants to spice up his underwear drawer!

Review: Odysseus Roman Tie Jock

This is the year of the jock! So we proclaimed earlier this year, and so far I don’t think it’s been wrong. ABC Underwear has sent us a lot of undies, some you have already seen reviewed, and I got to review their Odysseus Roman Tie Jock. It is a really cool jock and similar to the Marco jock that Alex reviewed on video a few weeks back. The biggest difference is that it has a lace-up front!

When I first saw Alex’s review, I was very curious as to how a jock like this would be for daily wear. I have tried lace-up underwear before and it didn’t go so well. The lace up part never really creates a great pouch; it always fits strange and usually has annoyed me after a few hours (and I’m being generous by saying hours).

The Odysseus Roman Tie Jock was different. I wore it out for a day of full errands. I knew this would either be great or end in disaster. The pouch on the jock is a full pouch, which really surprised me; it doesn’t lace all the way down. I got a red and yellow one. Both are really fun colors for a jock and would be great for a night out or a really fun date pair.

I really liked this, the pouch fit great. The waistband was very old school and 3 inches (it’s not often you see those). If you saw the video review with Alex, the jock had some extra space in the pouch, this one however fit great. I will definitely be wearing it often!

Pro:

  • Love the red and yellow
  • Laces didn’t make it hard to wear

Con:

  • Wish it had a more “traditional jock pouch” mesh material

Review: Cocksox Carnivore Jock

If you have been a long time reader of the blog you know that Cocksox is one of my favorite underwear brands. You may also know that I am not a fan of animal print, however, when I saw the new Carnivore line, I thought it could be really cool.  Go figure that I, the animal print hater, would really like the designs.

If you notice a theme here, this is my second jock that I have reviewed. You might say this is the year of the jock. It is also one of the few styles of Cocksox I had to yet to try, so I was super curious on how Cocksox would do a jock. They always have an amazing pouch in everything they do, so I hoped it would work on their jocks as well.

Saying this was a good jock is an understatement. It was amazing! I wanted to keep them on for a second day. They fit just right, the straps didn’t move or ride up and the pouch was perfection. I would say that this jock is the best pair of underwear that I’ve reviewed this year.  Keep an eye out for it on our Holiday Picks list!

If you want a jock that is functional and fun, I highly recommend this jock from Cocksox. I can see many of our readers wearing it to the gym and enjoying all of the looks they get!

Pro:

  • Really fun print and something out of the ordinary
  • Great fit and pouch

Con:

  • The only suggestion I have is make to make the waistband more interesting!

Cityboyz Fashion Model Search Winner – Aaron O’Connell

We bring you an interview with the Cityboyz Fashion Model Winner Aaron O’Connell. The search was held in Orlando in October.

What prompted you to enter the model search?

One day I was browsing the internet for new underwear. When I stumbled on Cityboyz Fashion’s website I saw the promotional banner for the model search. While going through the details of the Contest, I found that the contest was held only a couple hours away in Orlando. I realized at that point that I would be willing to drive to Orlando if I got enough facebook photo likes on their page, for a chance at the title.

Have you modeled before? (if so what have you done)

Prior to the contest, I competed in 2 NPC Men’s Physique competitions, but I never modeled. Since the contest, I have had two photo shoots and plan to have thousands more.

How have you enjoyed working in mens’  underwear? 

Being able to model men’s underwear, has given me a sense of accomplishment. I put in countless hours and sacrifice a lot to make my body the best it can be.  Working in men’s underwear allows me to showcase my efforts and to me that is extremely enjoyable.

What do you do in in your spare time? (Hobbies and such)

Working out is my true passion. I call the gym my sanctuary, because it is the one place that no matter how I’m feeling I will walk out feeling even better. I am working towards my ACSM personal trainer certificate and should be personal training by the beginning of 2012. Currently I am a senior at Florida State University and I graduate with my bachelors in two weeks. Once I graduate I will be able to put my full efforts into the activities that support my fitness passion. Some of these activities are: Updating and furthering my website aofitness.com, creating my own fitness cooking show (I graduating with a hospitality degree), and all the other things that further my social impact on society.

What has the experience been since you won? 

Winning the Cityboyz fashion model search has helped me gain a lot of exposure, which has given me added confidence that I will be extremely successful in my future of modeling.

What are your plans for the future in modeling?

I move back to south Florida in two weeks. I would love to sign with one of the top modeling agencies in Miami and go from there. Also, I am still in the process of trying to  earn my IFBB pro card in the Men’s Physique division. This would help me gain exposure in the fitness side of things and allow me to compete at the professional level, which has always been my dream.

There is a new addition into the world of underwear! That person is Mario Lopez. Unlike Marky Mark, David Beckham and others, Mario is now an underwear designer. His new line is called Rated M. He says the M Stands for Masculine, Modern, Mario or what ever you what it to stand for.

The line is only available at FreshPair.com right now! It is an exclusive for them. I got a chance to talk to them this past week. They told me the line is going to start off conservative but after the first of the year it will expand. Which is a smart thing to do. This is what we were told – “The prices range from $18 – $29 (briefs being $18, trunks $20, and shirts going up to $29). They are contemporary basics and come in red, blue, white, black, and gray. There are several lines, but the Elementary line will be the initial launch with others to follow early next year.”

I personally love the bright blue. Yes, the styling maybe conservative but the colors aren’t the typical colors. It will be very interesting to see the new line they will do in a few months. Recording Artist, Mike Munich stars in Andrew Christians Holiday Video, “2011 Holiday Promo” to his new dance single “Beat The Beat” in celebration of Andrew Christian’s “NanoFit Brief” and “The Perfect Holiday Boxer.”

Mike Munich has had the dance career that almost any young, Midwestern, gay boy would only dream of. It might even read like said boy’s favorite iTunes playlist – with a bit of Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Glee & even a Spice Girl in the mix for good measure.

Despite his strong, masculine physique, Mike can seriously get down in a high pair of heels and a face full of glitter, rivaling some of the girliest of girls. Mike’s work in music and dance are evidence of a young man who is confident enough in his sexuality to challenge and tease his audience, while artfully subverting traditional gender roles. Currently at work on his first solo EP, Mike’s debut single “Beat the Beat” will debut in September 2011. A call to nightlife lovers and denizens of the dance floor to ditch the dudes and fall in love with the music, “Beat the Beat” was co-written by Mike, Gino Barletta and Guy Baruch and was produced by Sammy Jay. “Referee,” the second single from Mike’s upcoming EP, was also produced by the same creative team and is slated to drop in Fall of 2011.

Originally from Minneapolis, Mike Munich came to Los Angeles in 2005 intending to focus on pursuing a dance career. Though he trained for years in Minnesota under the tutelage of Michelle Larkin, his mentors in Los Angeles quickly recognized Mike had the potential and skill to grow his artistry beyond the walls of the dance studio, and urged him to expand into acting, modeling and singing as well.

Since coming to Los Angeles, Mike has performed with some of the most popular music artists of today, dancing in Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and “Alejandro” videos, as well as Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment.” Mike has also participated in some of the most talked about contemporary pop music performances, including Adam Lambert’s controversial 2009 AMA’s appearance and Ke$ha’s 2011 Billboard Awards performance, as well as escorting a Lady Gaga filled egg down the 2011 Grammy’s red carpet. He has been featured in some of television’s hit shows, including Eli Stone, America’s Got Talent, and Dance Moms.  Mike has also played a recurring role on the first and second seasons of Glee, as a member of the rival show choir team, Vocal Adrenaline.
