Men’s Underwear

Category

I promised myself back in January that I wasn’t going to purchase any new underwear until after my holiday to Australia in April – kind of needed to do some serious saving! However a 40% weekend extravaganza sale on Calvin Klein underwear soon changed my mind and I went and purchased two pairs of their new X range. I went for two pairs of the cotton trunks version in black and neon pink – the latter colour only appears to be available in the UK at the moment!

I’ve given the underwear a thorough testing on your behalf, having worn them a number of times and in a variety of circumstances (at work, working out, walking round and simply lounging round the apartment) and with a range of clothing (gym gear, work clobber and casual clothing) and all I can say is these are some seriously comfy underwear.

The soft and stretchy cotton/modal material helps shape the trunks to your body whilst keeping everything nicely supported all day long. The wide waistband is made from a soft touch material and feels great against your body. The trunks fit well, although they do suffer from the usual leg rising issue when I was working out in them, but the soft material means they don’t really become uncomfortable. Having said that, it really is a minor niggle on a great pair of underwear.

Overall I was really impressed with these trunks – they are seriously comfy, fit well and are suitable for use in all circumstances. Will I be buying more? Definitely!

If you have been looking for an underwear company who specializes in a wide variety of underwear, we believe we have found that company for you.  Candyman offers the modern man a chance to express himself in a new line of fashions.  Whether you want to be a police officer, a tux wearing gentleman, or a dirty devil, they offer the perfect selection of patterns and appropriate accessories.  If there is something we believe in at UNB, it’s that men should express their inner selves.  There’s no better way to do that than pull on a pair of Candyman underwear and be your inner fantasy man.

Recently, I wore the Sailor Brief in size medium.  I normally wear a small (31” waist), but after speaking with a fellow reviewer, I chose the medium.  Going one size up in most underwear brands means loose briefs.  The fit was perfect for me with no drooping, no binding, and staying in place wasn’t an issue.

The cut allowed for perfect coverage.  I don’t know if this would be called a full brief but I would not call it a hip brief.  However corny it may sound, I would call it an awesome brief.  Made of 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex, the material is smooth to the touch and allows for a fair amount of stretch.  The wash instructions are to wash separately, do not bleach (of course), and to drip dry.  That can be taken in different ways, but my mind would believe they mean hand wash.  The material is not the only aspect of the underwear that would lead me to believe these should be hand washed.

A gold chain is located on the pouch underneath the waistband.  This addition to the brief is questionable.  The chain’s only purpose is aesthetic and is held on by one or two loops of thread through the underwear material…not the waistband.  This can easily be broken off in the wash.  I personally had a few issues with the chain while wearing the brief when in the restroom.  The chain would get in the way when lifting up the tucked in shirt and pulling down the waistband.  Another reason to be careful with washing is the anchor on the left leg.  The glitter substance used to create the symbol, over time, may deteriorate from the harsh washing detergents.  My personal suggestion is to hand wash these delicates and then hang them up to dry.

The Sailor Brief is a great feeling brief and one that will make a seaman out of you whenever the mood strikes.  Minus some construction issues, this is a nice brief to add to your collection.  Would I think this brief is a daily wear brief?  Maybe if you are careful.  Make sure you watch for the chain when reaching in to the fly of your pants.

Dry & Naked Sports Thong with Show-It Technology

This is one of the few thongs I have seen from Andrew Christian. Its one that have a very interesting styling. To me it reminds me of kind of a half thong in the back. The front has the Show-It technology in the pouch. I think it’s something to really check out if you’re a thong guy. Here is the description from the Andrew Christian Website:

A brand new addition to the Dry & Naked line. This sports thong is made from super moisture wicking patented fabric. The back panel of the thong is designed so the center strap won’t ride up and become uncomfortable. The sides and back are white and the cup is contrasted in grey.

Wolf Athletic Supporter

I know we have quite a few Jockstrap lovers out there. And the search for a really cool and affordable fashion jock is one that many of you do. I have checked some prices of jocks and they can be quite expensive, up to $25 a piece. Well our friends at Jockstrap Central have found a fashion jock company that is affordable and it looks awesome. They have the traditional jock styling with the wide waistband. Colors available are Blue, Black and white. One thing I think will make these jocks awesome are they are made with 95% cotton/5% spandex blend. If you are a true jock lover then check these out, exclusively at Jockstrap Central!

Diesel Reverse Logo Brief

I think if you’re a long time reader of the blog, you know I”m a fan of really cool waistbands. This holds true with the new Diesel Reverse Brief. They just ran the name backwards in the waist band. I saw these on the International Jock website and loved them. The waistband is 1.5 inches wide. So it’s a rather wide band for most people. They also have made a trunk in the same. Both styles are made with the 95% cotton/5% cotton blend, so you know they will have a great fit. Check out all the pairs at International Jock

There is a still a thunder from down under with Australian underwear.  Tribe is most certainly part of that thunder.  This is the second pair of Tribe underwear I’ve been given to review, and just like the first, this pair does not disappoint.  The trunk brief has a little more fabric and covering than the standard brief, and as someone who likes covering more than the next guy, that’s a very good thing.  So without further a due, here’s my review on the Tribe Trunk Brief in the Cobblestone pattern.

It’s always exciting to get underwear for review, especially when they are from a different country!  When they arrived, of course I tried them on instantly, and it was a match made in heaven!  This is a seriously great pair of underwear!  They have just enough coverage for me, a little more than the previous pair I reviewed (The Print Brief).  With that “just-right” coverage comes a “just-right” feeling, leaving me to be a happy camper.  Like the other pair, the Trunk Brief is comprised of 94% Polyester and 6% Elastane, equaling a 100% comfortable pair of underwear!

As with all pairs I am given to review, I put them through my daily test, which pretty much puts them through everything; sitting, walking, and working out.  It’s the whole package…no pun intended.  With no surprises at all, these undies passed with flying colors!  I love the way they feel and how they support, plus the pattern is so simple that it’s more enjoyable than some of the craziest patterned pairs I own.  They are a nice escape to the simple life, which is definitely something everyone needs!
