How much are we looking foward to summer? I will say I’m ready for this winter blah to be over with. Here in Atlanta we go from 70 degrees to 30 degrees and its been a roller coaster of temps. March is here and spring is around the corner and so is warmer weather. Or so they tell me.

teamm8While in Vegas I got a chance to meet up with Teamm8! They have some great stuff coming in the next few months. I can’t wait to share them with you guys but in the mean time you can check out the Cabana swim range. The reason I love this range so much is the geometric print they designed. Its just a lot of fun for swimwear. My personal favorite is the pink pair! I mean isn’t the point of wearing a pair of swim briefs is to be seen? Why not get some great color to be seen. I bet you will get a ton of complaints as well!

The collection has briefs, trunk and swim short but we are just focusing on the brief. The two colors of the brief is the pink I mentioned above and blue. Each is amazing. The blue is a little more subdued but still a great design. On top of that the pair has a cool waistband with a drawstring that ties in the fun and shows on each size. Made from 80% Nylon and 20% Elastane so it will hold up to the surf, sun and pool!

If you aren’t a swim brief fan like I said check out the swim trunk and short in the same pattern. Also the swim short could make a great cover up for the brief. Wear it to the beach or pool and take it off to relax in the brief in the sun!  The brief retails for $69 AUD at the Teamm8 website.

So if you want to wear pink, what are some choices right now? I have a few favorites that you should check out that feature a variety of styles. So there is one in here for everyone.

Mate-White-Underwear-0-15x15I am excited to get to review for everyone the teamm8 Mate Brief in white. I was blown away when I got them. I absolutely loved them as soon as I saw them. They are the low cut briefs in white and they have a draw string waist.

At first I wondered if they were swim trunks, but they are 95% cotton 5% Elastane, ad they don’t have a lined crotch area so I realize they are underwear.

I have always loved underwear with a draw string waist. I don’t know why, they are sexy, comfy, fun and if you eat a lot you can adjust the waist.

I decided the second I saw these that they were going to be for special occasions. I didn’t wear them to work for a day but I would rear them out for a special night.

When I first pulled them on I totally LOVED them. They were comfy and very sexy The cut is perfect and have the right amount of room in the front and the butt. The waist we perfect because you tie them to your liking.

Throughout the night they were perfect. The drawstring waist was comfy, not too tight and not too lose. The leg openings were snug but not so tight that they hurt or were binding.

I am pleased to say I was told how sexy they look on me. I wont go into details but I have worn them once since them and I love them. I wear a size medium and these fit perfectly.

Pros:

  • Soft material
  • Great construction
  • Comfortable, great fit and cut
  • Draw string waist is the best.
  • Very sexy cut and style.

Cons:

  • Nothing, I love these underwear

racer-navy-underwear-0_4There is something comforting about being part of a team. At UNB, I have been able to become part of a great underwear team. A team that brings the underwear loving public what they need and want to know about all things underwear! You can imagine my excitement when Teamm8 became my newest teammate in my underwear drawer.

I received the Teamm8 Racer Brief in Navy. The look of this brief is very athletic and sporty, living up to the company name. It has the athletic theme stripes in the front around the package and a great orange and navy color combination up against the white waistband. A look that I think portrays team spirit. The pair is a cotton and elastane mix which is a great combination for comfortable wear all day. Like many underwear companies today, they allow for extra room in the pouch for the more endowed men and a fuller cut in the back for the butt men.

I wore the pair through my typical work day as I normally do with my new underwear pairs. To me, it is important to see if a pair can handle an average day, otherwise it does not pop up in rotation too often. This pair did not disappoint! I was comfortable all day long. I did not have any problems with chaffing, riding up, or excessive adjustment.

I wear a medium and when I received this pair it was a small. I was nervous because my first thought was “oh great these won’t fit.” I was wrong. They fit me great. I was pleasantly surprised that a small fit me so well and they did not feel too small throughout the day. Teamm8’s website does reference this by saying “if you don’t need the extra room, just order a size smaller.” Although this is good advice before purchasing, it may confuse many customers who wonder if they are endowed enough or have a bigger butt for their normal size or a size down. I consider myself average but would have not ordered a small just from my typical ordering habits.

Overall, if you get the right size, you won’t be disappointed when you wear the pair. They say there is no “I” in team but I sure am glad that I am in this Teamm8 pair!

Pros:

  • Extra room in the front and back
  • Comfortable material
  • Appealing, sporty look

Cons:

  • Sizing concerns
  • Low color selection

068L0874We have some good news and some bad news. If you were a fan of the Dash brief, well  its no longer around. But the good news is that the Mate brief is back and now replaces it! Teamm8 makes really great fun underwear.

The Mate is a low cut design. This year we have seen the trent of lower cut briefs come on to the market. This makes is a perfect suit to show off all the hard work you have been doing in the gym. Teamm8 says this new super low cut will give it an edge and I agree! The suit also features signature metal tip tie-cord. Which is not something you see in underwear every day

The Mate has a 95% cotton and 5% elastine fabric. The construction features a front seam that will that will give you extra support though a nice pouch. You maybe asking what colors does it come in? Well they have white, black, blue and grey marle. They aren’t super bright colors, if you’re looking for something super bright this may not be for you. If on the other hand you want to have a really great pair of undies with an amazing fit, these are for you.

They retail on the Teamm8 site for $31AUD (Australian Dollar)

TOUCHDOWN DIGITAL MEDIA COVERTeamm8 has really come on strong in the US Market this last year. They have released some amazing swimwear and now are releasing a few more pairs to their Underwear line. The first pair they are releasing is the Touchdown Brief. The Touch Down brief joins the team of the other low cut briefs in their line up.

One of the first things you will notice are the colors. The color names are pretty eye catching and fun. However the names of the colors they use are pretty fun. They are mouth watering Mandarin (orange), Scrumptious Sorbet (pink/red) and Juicy Apple (green). The world of underwear has really been coming up with creative names this past year. Some of you may think it’s out there but it just makes me smile because it’s part of the fun factor! The colors are set off by a black waistband with the Teamm8 logo in grey. I think the black accents the bright colors really well.

From the Teamm8 site: It’s a TOUCHDOWN! This electrifying number joins our team of super-low cut briefs. And don’t let the effortlessness of its detail fool you. It features a slick and sexy double piping along the bottom and side panel, dominated in black and accompanied by a thin white glow. “

If you are looking for a really fun brief then I would suggest the Touchdown brief. The pictures and video for the line were done by James Demitri. Find this on the Teamm8 website.

dash-tr-navy-0.5I have to admit that I am more of a brief guy, I have been wearing ‘speedo’ swimwear since around the age of 14, so for over 35 years. So I was a little skeptical when I was asked to review a ‘square cut’ suit . The Double Dash Trunk by teamm8 is not a typical square cut suit. I have to admit, it is a very comfortable square cut suit. I have tried other brand name square cut suits but have never felt this comfortable in a square cut trunk. I was fortunate to have the navy trunk with white waistband and orange drawstring, great color combination.

When I first pulled the suit on I was amazed at the feel of the material made of 80% nylon and 20% elastane. The features a small functional pocket with a sleek zipper on the right hip. The pocket is almost undetectable except for the orange zipper pull peaking out from under the concealing navy flap. On the left hip is a tastefully heat embossed teamm8 logo in orange and white. The drawstring is a smart contrasting orange against the white waistband made out of a sturdy nylon and plastic bullet ends on the end to prevent fraying. The suit is lined in the front with a single panel of coolmax lining and does not bunch as in other suits like this I have worn. The back of the suit has a center seam to give the suit an improved fit and comfort, it basically sculpts the rear, not flattens the it.

I have worn the suit to the beach and the community pool and have received several positive comments about the suit, wife approves too. I have to say for a ‘speedo’ guy I am beginning to like the teamm8 Double Dash trunk. It offers more coverage than the traditional brief / bikini when more coverage is required. The suit dries quickly and works well under a pair of regular shorts , just incase an impromptu occasion calls for a swim. For the more modest that want to wear a more form fitting suit and not give up style I would highly recommend the Double Dash trunk by teamm8.

This suit has impressed me when it comes to square cut swim trunks. I will definately recommend these anyone that asks about square cut swim trunks. Great to wear under scuba suits to prevent bunching and chafing from baggy board shorts and traditional loose fitting swim trunks.

When considering a teamm8 suit the sizing is a follows and is true to size: xsmall 2830, Small 3032, medium 3234, large 3436, xlarge 3638 and xxlarge is 3840. Free standard shipping in the Australia. Standard overseas orders over $50 are shipped free! Only $10 shipping on overseas orders under 50. Express shipping is offered too, $10 in Australia and $25 overseas. The price for this awesome suit is $74 AUD which is appoxametly $70 USD, and can be found online at www.teamm8.com

Pros:

  • Comfortable alone or under other clothing. Does not ‘ride’ up like other square cut. Material is very soft and durable.
  • Styling is subtle and tasteful.
  • Variety of colors offered.
  • Lining is comfortable and does not bunch.

Cons:

  • Waistband will tend to ‘roll’

surf-white-0

I know many of you out there either don’t feel comfy or don’t have a beach/pool where you can wear a swim brief this summer. So you won’t be participating in our Swim Brief challenge. That doesn’t mean you can’t get some really fun swimwear for this summer.

The pair I got to review is the the Teamm8 Surf Swim Short. I really love the fun pattern of this pair. So when I got to pick a few pairs of swim, this was top of my list. The print really caught my eye and I had to have it! As you can see the Surf Swim Short is a traditional swim trunk. Well, it is for us in the US. These are the kinds of suits I grew up on wearing. So they give me a retro feel.

It has a retro look but made with new fabrics and design. The old shorts I wore never had pockets. So this is a new addition to the style. I personally like a swim suit with pockets. It’s not that i want to load my pockets down in the water or hanging out. But, inevitably you will need to go somewhere and its great to have a place to put your ID and money when you go, instead of holding it in your hand.

Next is the print. I said above that I love it. The reasons I love the print is because it’s very beachy, colorful and not over the top. First, the print reminds me of the beach because of the palm leaves and floral print is what you should wear at the beach. Next are the colors, its very Miami South Beach to me with the more muted/pastel colors. They work well together. Lastly is its not over the top. How many times have you seen prints and went, who’s curtains did they use? Well this one is fun and you’ll get noticed for the right reasons.

I wore these to a pool where it’s encouraged to wear swim briefs. Note that I did bring a swim brief as well but kept them in my bag. I wanted to see how well these did by themselves. Often I wear a swim brief under other swimwear because I like the extra support under other lined suits. The one smart thing Teamm8 did was have the lining and fly meet up. Meaning when you udo the fly you don’t have to worry about the lining. it’s sewn into the sides of the fly rather. I thought this was super smart.

I will say for trunks these were pretty good trunks. I prefer a more square cut or swim brief as my main pair. I will definitely wear these again. They felt great just relaxing by the pool and in the water. Reviews for swim are always hard for me because I never put swimwear through it’s paces. I”m more of a relax and hang out rather than play volleyball or be active. So for me these did the trick and I got a few compliments and informed a few guys about Teamm8!

Pros:

  • Loved the print
  • The lining doesn’t get in the way
  • Was very comfy

Cons

  • Some guys may not like the lining
  • Pockets, again some may not like pockets in swim

lanai-red-0It is now swim season and it’s time to spend as much time by the beach/pool as possible. I would totally agree with this but here in the ATL it’s been rainy and cloudy every time you turn around. So you can wear swimwear but it hasn’t been ideal conditions. So I used the Teamm8 Lanai swim shorts to hang out in one day by the pool. This was the first time I ever wore Teamm8. So I was excited to give them a try.

I will say it’s not normally the style I would wear. This pair has a very retro look, it reminds me of something from the 70’s/80’s, and yes I was old enough to remember them! So I was a little apprehensive about them. Back in the day I hated these types of swimwear and hoped that I wouldn’t have a bad flash back! But, this is Teamm8 and they make out of modern materials/fabrics, so I should have known this wasn’t going to happen.

I wore these to a pool that really isn’t swim brief friendly. It was a friends neighborhood pool, but I did keep my swim briefs under them, I like the extra support. As I relaxed in the pool and hung out this did fit great. The color got a little big of attention because it’s not the usual navy, white or red most swim trunks are. A few people complimented me on them and asked who they were. I forget you talk to people outside of the underwear/swimwear world, most of the population hasn’t heard of Teamm8. Well I am changing it for them an other brands.

Back to my day. These dried pretty fast and didn’t bunch or bind when going form pool to laying out and such. One of my biggest gripes in swimwear are those that don’t dry fast. I hate sitting in wet clothes for over an hour! The 100% nylon dried pretty fast so I was super happy.

The color I received was Watermelon. You are going to make a statement in this pair. It has a small palm tree print that alternates black and white tree. The pair has white piping around the lets and seams. It also includes a drawstring waist. Which is pretty standard for swimwear. If the Watermelon is not your style check out the mint (green) pair.

As for sizing, definitely pay attention to sizing charts. It was a little tight on me, just because I have gained a few pounds. Which I’m not happy about but I plan on going back down. However, that said you can get the right size if you check out the sizing guide. Their chart is easy to find, a button next to the size selection brings it up!

Pros:

  • Great construction
  • Attention getting color
  • dries fast

Cons;

  • retro design some guys may not like
  • Colors maybe too bold for some guys

Ratings

  • Fit – 9
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9

This week we have gone international on our Underwear of the Week. The pair that got the honor of Underwear of the Week is the Teamm8 Alliance brief, specifically the Australian brief. In our quest for great undies to feature, we are going to try to go more international. Teamm8 is a brand we originally discovered through their amazing photography. However, they have some great swimwear and underwear.

The Alliance brief comes also features Canada, Brazil and the U.S. We could have easily profiled the US Brief, but the look of the Australian brief is very cool. The whole brief just POPS. Here is why this pair is our Underwear of the Week:

  • The Blue and Red colors just really accent each other
  • Waistband is very cool with the Australian flag and the stripe that runs around. Also Teamm8 is on the right hip
  • Made out of 95% Cotton and 5% Elastane
  • Available in three other Countries and colors: USA – Red, Canada – Red and Brazil – Blue

This is our first really international pair for Underwear of the Week. We hope you Enjoy it. It can be found at the Teamm8 Website for $33.00AUD.
