One trend in men’s underwear that keeps growing is lace and lingerie. Gone are the days when guys are restricted to just tighty whities. Now we are all encouraged to wear what we want no matter the color, fabric, or cut. Just look at the rise of thongs in the last five years! 

UNB has always been a place to encourage guys of all to wear what you love without shame. This does include lace and lingerie. We had done feature stories in the past when we first started seeing these pairs from brands like MaleBasics and Joe Snyder. 

I want to get a few more pairs of lace and lingerie. As I talk to some of my underwear friends, they also want to expand their collection. The whole lace undies are sexy to me; it could be taboo for men to wear such a “fem” material, or I love the look. 

In my process of finding more lingerie pairs, I’m running across a few problems. The first is the price. Some pairs are super expensive, over $100, which is out of my budget right now. Next is the design. I need a pair made for men that gives you an awesome pouch. I can’t wear undies where there is no support, or things fall out. Lastly, finding the cut I want. I am not a thong guy; I want a bikini cut brief. A lot of the pairs there are thongs, which is incredible, but I just prefer a bikini. We are working on a lace/lingerie podcast, and I will team up with a few guys to bring you updates on what we are trying and what we love 

Since the first part of December I have started to draw again. It’s been many years since I have taken pen to paper, or in this case, Apple Pencil to iPad. I was a little rusty when I started but it’s like riding a bike, you never forget and just get right back where you were.

I have really enjoyed getting real guys out there and drawing them. One of my favorites is the 2Beefy2Thick boys. I have drawn them naked, in thongs and at their wedding. They were the first guys I drew in clothes! LOL. Note the hat below and that’s so true!

I’m trying to draw guys from models to real guys and specifically beefy guys! ClemsonCub on IG is one I have gone into detail on his pics and have really enjoyed getting better and better.

We can all agree that 2020 was a dumpster fire of all dumpster fires. It was one of the worst years ever, but we managed to get through it. I started off the year with my very first hospital admission ever, 2000 miles from home with no insurance. If that wasn’t an omen I don’t know what is. And it went downhill from there.

However, I do have somethings to be thankful for in 2020. Believe it or not! While it sucked there were some good things that I’m happy about.

• The podcast gang – This year saw us really cement the podcast and do some great shows. It has to do with the guys on the show as much as the topics. Each guy brings something different to the table. Our group tests have been amazing and have kept me sane in 2002. I love every guy on the show.
• The podcast itself – I never thought the podcast would really resonate with people. I thought it will be a bunch of guys talking undies. However, we have received some of the most amazing feedback from you guys. It’s not just us talking undies but opening up and sharing who we are and showing that guys aren’t alone!
• Andy aka ScruffyGay and Erik aka Undies Geek – these two have been amazing. I love these two guys so much Not only have they been there since we started up the podcast again but they are such amazing friends that we grew a lot closer during the pandemic.We have big things planned so watch out.
• Stevie aka Undies Cub – Where do I begin with this boy? He’s become a fast friend over the last year and one person I consider a confidant. If you think the convos we have on Barely Brief are soul baring just think of what we do when it’s just us. Stevie is one of the few people who gets me and sees me for me. That is good and bad lol, but he’s honest and someone I can depend on
• The UNB Store – I never wanted to do a store. People had been after me for years to do one. But the stars aligned in 2019 and I stated it. It’s a lot of ups and downs over the last year but without it, I would have been in bankruptcy. The longer I have the store the more I want to do it full time. It’s not easy and it’s a lot of work, but you have to stick with it, it’s a marathon and not a sprint. I remind myself when it’s a bad week or month.
• Men and Underwear Store – The owner of this store, we have a special bond. We both started blogs then stores. Over the last year we have been each others biggest supports and cheerleaders. We check in a few times a week and encourage each other through the good and bad of owning a store. It’s great to have someone to talk to about business and vent some. We will keep teaming up on 2021 and do some great things.
• Art – At the end of the year I rediscovered my creative side. I started to do artwork featuring men in undies and nudes. This moved to wedding art as well. I am developing my own style and the creativity it has brought me has surprised even me. Thanks to Danny Warhole for encouraging me to go for it and have fun. Also, thanks to Emmitt who designed the Speedo Movement swim brief for encouraging me too.
• New friends, I made in 2020 – Since the pandemic, I have tried to make more friends in undies and put myself out there more. I’m always the ‘behind the scenes” kind of guy. The blog was never about me directly and I kept it more journalistic. I decided to change that with the podcast and blog. Over the last year I have met people like Danny & Joe, Patrick & Anthony, UnderwearBear27, UndieDude24, 2Beefy2Thicc, ScruffyunderwearJock, Chithonger (we were friends but I couldn’t leave him out), and the list goes on and on. Love you all.

Let’s hope we get that vaccine and can go back to somewhat normal in 2021.

So, I do love underwear! I used to wear all kinds: briefs, jockstraps, and thongs, but lately, probably around late 2016 and beyond, I have been focusing more on my love for thongs, specifically those with no wide elastic waistband and Lycra.

I started my love for underwear as a boy when I asked my dad to buy the colored and funky bikinis from Avon catalogs (yeah, they do sell clothes besides makeup!). And he would go and place the order: 100% cotton bikinis with fun prints: stripes, rectangles, polka dots, etc. I’d also buy plain and bold colors: red, blue, yellow and of course the basic black, gray and white.

I never cared for boxers. The furthest I went with those were boxer briefs, and I never really enjoyed them. I have thick thighs, so they would always end up rolling up, so uncomfortable.

As I grew older, I started buying my own underwear from regular brands like UCB and CK, mostly briefs since they were available locally in stores. As soon as I started talking with others in chat rooms, I discovered more brands: AC, 2Xist, Diesel, Aussie Bum, H&M, etc. I knew I wanted to try those and so, I did! My first lycra thong was a white CK some guy gave me as a present! Man, I loved that thong!

I remember my first solo trip; I went shopping at Macy’s, I bought beyond briefs, jockstraps, cotton thongs. I was hooked! From cheap Hang Ten and Joe Boxer to expensive CK, I at least owned 5 thongs, plenty of jockstraps, and briefs!

Later on, I realized I did love thongs the most and started wandering around sites like spandexguys and getting in touch with men who also enjoyed this fascination and thong fetish. Again, for me, it goes beyond a fetish since I do wear thongs regularly.

I started knowing about their brands, MuscleSkins, Joe Snyder, TM, JQK, Tendenze, Dory, iKingsky, Arroyman, Jovana, etc. Most recently, last year, I discovered Skinzfit.

That’s pretty much a summary of my journey with underwear.
