UNB Tim recommendation: This pair I was expecting the regular AC review. However, the tag on the back made this annoying to wear. The good things were overshadowed by the tag. There is nothing more annoying. I am going to try to cut out the tag and hope that fixes the problem. Let me know if you have this pair and didn’t have the issue with the tag.
I picked the strangest week to review a pair of mesh underwear. It’s been one of the coldest in Atlanta in years. After wearing my jock brief the other day I was hoping I wouldn’t have a constant draft. This is the 4th pair of the five I bought for my own holiday present.
The first thing I noticed was the tag on the back. It has to be one of the most annoying tags I have worn in a long time. Usually Andrew Christian is great about tags, moving more towards tagless pairs. After about an hour I had to turn the waistband down and fold it over the tag. This did the trick but you shouldn’t have to turn it down to wear a pair of underwear.
That was the biggest issue I had with the pair. I loved the mesh that was used to create the pair. It wasn’t 100% see through but gave a brief glimpse of the goods. The fabric is 90% POLYAMIDE 10% SPANDEX fabric blend. I have one issue with mesh undies. It’s not just this pair but several I have tried over the years. My junk kinda rubs the wrong way in the mesh. I just had to readjust and it was fine.
The sizing was as I had hoped. Unlike the Suck It Brief, this felt great from the time I slid it on till when I took it off (the exception is the tag in the back). Top that off with the Almost Naked Pouch makes this a solid pair. Just double check out the size chart when buying underwear
I was super excited about this pair. Had the tag not been so itchy and scratchy it would have gotten a much higher score in daily wear. I am going to look at cutting the label out. With it removed I would definitely wear it in the warmer months. It would be perfect under shorts on a hot day.

It’s a new year and time for some new gear. One new piece of gear you may want to get before heading off to Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) in Washington, D.C. The Smuggler Jock is a new pair from Cellblock 13. It’s a hybrid, but not like a jock brief. It’s a hybrid of a fanny pack and a jock. You may be going “WTF?” But, it’s really an interesting design. The new design has the function in mind.
Why is this a good idea? Well, if you’re not involved with the leather community, it will definitely seem odd. Going to leather events such as MAL, IML or Folsom, guys will walk around in a little bit of leather as the law allows. It’s not uncommon to see guys in just boots and jocks. There is an issue on where do you keep your ID, phone, and money? Sure you could use your boot or stuff it in the pouch or waistband. If you’re like me, my luck all of it would fall out.
The jock itself is a Black Textured Neoprene Rubber with top fetish colors as an accent (blue, red, yellow, or white). The waistband2″ wide for a secure & snug fit matching the color on the pouch. Fully functional zipper pockets to keep your stuff safe & in place and also a large inside pocket for your valuables.
I think this is an awesome idea for the leather events. Will it get wide use, that I do not know, I’m not deeply involved in the leather community. But if I were going to an event I would definitely try this pair out. It makes sense to me. If you’re interested in the pair it retails for $59.00. Which may save you in the long run!

It’s been one of the coldest winters in a while, especially in Atlanta. When I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is have to go back out. UNB Tim recommendation: A great pair for Valentine’s Day. The print is super fun. I had an issue with sizing, this ran smaller than previous pairs from AC. But overall a solid brief.
It’s time for more Andrew Christian reviews. I reviewed the Cock Brief and Master Brief. One I definitely wanted to get is the Suck It Brief. Its named the Suck It because it has a sucker print. As in the candy, get your mind out of the gutter. After the Cock brief I was really looking forward to this pair. It has a similar material and hoped it fit as well as the cock brief.
These were put through the paces very similar to the Cock Brief review. I wore them to work and running around after work doing errands. That noted, when I slid these on they were a bit snugger than the Cock Brief. I thought “Maybe I got another size?” and looked at the tag and nope, it was an XL. Was it too tight? Not really but it didn’t fit as well as the other pairs. Which made me sad because I love this print.
The fabric on this pair is a 90% Polyamide 10% Spandex blend. It feels awesome against the skin. It’s very slick and smooth. It’s perfect for working out. Now would you wear heart-shaped sucker print to the gym? Well, that’s something for you to decide. This pair also has the awesome Almost Naked pouch! It’s my all-time favorite pouch from Andrew Christian. It’s made to ergonomically support a guy!
As I said above this pair was a bit smaller than previous pairs. Most of my pairs of AC have always been pretty standard in sizing recently. So this one made me double take. I know I need to lose a few but I didn’t gain it overnight. Some have commented they had sizing issues before but most have been pretty standard for me. This the first time I have had a noticeable size difference between pairs.
I loved the print of this pair. It’s just a fun Valentine’s pair. Which you could wear out under your suit or jeans on the big night. Or you can rock it every day. The sizing was a bit of an issue for me. It wasn’t so tight I had to take them off in the middle of the day but it was noticeable throughout the day. If you like this take note it’s a Limited Edition pair!

Did you know we once had a podcast? You can go listen to the older episodes still on iTunes. We have talked about it internally for a few years but now I feel it’s time to really bring it back. We have some great guys and there are some things happening in the world of underwear that deserve talking.
The first episode we have planned is around thongs. This will be the first of many discussions we will have about thongs. This style has grown in popularity by both gay and straight guys. Bigger than I would have ever thought. We have a few guys you will know form brands/social media to talk with us.
Other plans we have are just roundtable of the UNB guys talking underwear. We will all bring a topic to the table for a discussion. It could be a news item we weigh in on. Something controversial we have a debate on. Yes, there are things to debate in the world of undies. And now that recap of Magic/Project during and right after the show.
We will even want real guys who read the blog to join in from time to time as well. One thing that I think is a strength about UNB is we listen to you guys and always ask your input on things. We love hearing back from you and some of you, when you disagree post comments, email us or talk to us on social. Which to me is awesome. We want to have some real guys on to share what the guy on the street has to say. We will post on the blog and social media for guys interested in joining.

Hell, or if you just want to have fun with your undies and be comfy doing it! Pick this pair up the classic style is really cool against the “Master” waistband.
This is the second pair in my series of 5 pairs of Andrew Christian I bought during a holiday sale. I wanted something fun. Andrew Christian has many prints and sayings but this one spoke to me. It is the Master Brief. And yes they do have a sub pair to match, Why did I choose this pair? It could be considered an erotic pair but it’s very understated. It’s not over the top and screams FETISH. So I figured why not get it and have fun.
I wore this pair to work. I figured why not chance it. I doubt anyone would see the waistband and if they did would they even notice? I wear whatever I want to, to work and don’t think about if anyone sees. All in all you could consider this to be a basic pair of underwear with the cotton blend. The pair for a regular day held up pretty well.
This pair has a 95% cotton/ 5% spandex blend. It makes it very classic in the feel. The 5% spandex gives you some stretch to the pair. The design I particularly like. As I mentioned above it’s not over the top but more classic, with the Master in the waistband. The front stripes on the pouch are a design feature I particularly like!
Sizing of the pair was ok. The fabric doesn’t stretch as much as I would have hoped. It’s not bad but didn’t fit as well as the Cock Brief I reviewed previously. I wear an XL right now but will be starting a workout program soon and hope to be back down to a large!
I like this pair. The classic cut and feel works along with the fetish “master” side of the pair. The fit was good and the fabric was good. It’s probably not for all guys but it’s sure fun to wear. Some may want other to catch a glimpse of the waistband above their jeans. Who knows what may happen!

Before this week the answer to the question, “Does cold weather define your underwear choices?”, would have been a resounding “No way!” However, the deep freeze that has enveloped the country has made me give this a second thought. The reason for this is I was at the grocery store on a very cold day and felt a draft. At first, I thought I tore my pants (not fun for a public space). After confirming that was not the case I remembered I was wearing a Jock Brief. The cold air was a little noticeable on the exposed areas.
I don’t ever remember this happening before, but it doesn’t get into temps in the teens very often here in Atlanta. For a full week, we have been barely getting above freezing during the day. I’ve been wearing Andrew Christian undies for upcoming reviews. Nothing too skimpy or revealing. Friday, I went to put on a pair and thought, “It’s going to be colder, I better wear the Unico Boxer Briefs. Which were a good choice for the day!
This got me wondering how many of you just say fuck it and wear bikinis, jocks and thongs on cold days. We have readers in Chicago, NYC and Toronto. Areas known for their frigid winters. I like to be warm but not too warm. Wearing long johns when I have to go to work is just too many layers. I like to only wear them when I have to be outside more than inside. Hell, I don’t like wearing undershirts under my shirts because I get too hot on regular days.
My new winter undies will be briefs and boxer briefs. Not just any boxer briefs but those from Mundo Unico and Ergowear. My love of the pouch still has to be there. I just don’t want any more drafty moments during the cold. When the weather warms up next week I’ll be back to whatever I want to wear. If you change your undies due to hot or cold let us know.

Harnesses are growing in popularity. One brand making some super fun ones is Raystraints. I found him on Instagram and had to interview him.
Harnesses have been growing in popularity the last year, how did you get into the harness business?
My weekend job is working as a Jell-O shot guy at our local gay bar in San Jose, CA (@SplashSJC). When I started, I would wear what the gogo dancers wore. I’ve always been into “gear” and stumbled upon harnesses worn by Club Papi gogo dancers. I looked on IG & searched #Harness and came across a few pages and that’s how I started incorporating harnesses into my bar looks.
Making harnesses why do you think harnesses are gaining popularity and possibly going mainstream?
Harnesses are an extremely sexy accessory to any outfit. Worn alone, with underwear or layered with clothes, they show a sexy confidence in whatever body lines you have. Harnesses are now even being built into one piece singlets where no underwear is even needed. Also, Harnesses have been around for a while. There are quite a few brands I personally have been a fan/follower/customer of in the past few years. I think that harnesses themselves were initially viewed as what people would consider fetish or gogo gear. However, in the last few years, there have been trends of harnesses being worn outside those typical norms like street wear. There are designers who had incorporated them into fashion designs. The lines of a harness work in more fabrics than just elastic or stretch materials. This past season of Project Runway showed some awesome uses of harnesses in unconventional challenges.
You currently don’t have a website, which you said was coming, is Instagram the way you are getting your name out there?
Instagram was how I happened to find and purchase my first harnesses. My instagram was how I started to put myself out there as a jello shot guy. Naturally, my followers were the first to see the process from the beginning and as I created harnesses for myself, I posted the pics of the progress and me wearing them. Interest was sparked, DMs came in & requests for pieces started. I intend on putting together a portfolio of styles, professional photographed & start an Etsy page.
The designs you come up with are pretty creative. Where do you get your creativity for harnesses?
I literally have bins full of harnesses I bought from other designers. I first started by deconstructing pieces I stretched out and used them as pattern pieces to recreate them for myself. Started with super thick elastic and a hot glue gun haha but that first style I perfected in hot glue is still one of my most popular. Now, I have a 3/4 mannequin to help create them on thanks to @alotmoore & I have body form sketches I copied thanks to @eyeizright . I sketch ideas just playing with lines on the body and then I put it on the mannequin. There’s no right or wrong way to get creative. Sometimes even after a sketch, the final product ends up a different design. I just like things to look sexy and alluring BUT can be worn on any body size.
What has been the reaction on Instagram to your designs?
The reaction has been CRaZY!!! Every time I post a #CustomerSelfie sent to me & customers post & tag me, I get DMs like crazy. I tend to sew at night and post the pics of the finished product before bed and wake up to order requests.
Are you planning to make more than just harnesses?
I recently just dabbled with making a harness style tshirt. I definitely have a long way to go with learning of fabrics & patterns & garment creation. I want to dabble with underwear and jock straps but I want to perfect harnesses first.
Is there someone you would love to see in your designs?
My favorite underwear models and Gogo dancers @travis_yukarin, @brandonshieldsla, @arad.winwin & any of the @jeffreysanker @whitepartypalmsprings gogo dancers 😍😍😍 I am totally open for suggestions. If YOu GuYs think anyone specific would look good in my gear, tag them on my page or tag me on theirs. Body size makes no difference (go check out @sixfootfiveguy in my body harness).

I ask they DM me on Instagram @ray_the_robot or @raystraints. Send me a screen shot of the style you like or even a sketch. Be understanding that I don’t work with fabric yet. But once a design is picked, we discuss colors, details and price. Payment accepted via Cash App or PayPal.

A brand I discovered on social media is Mertailor. He is a designer doing not only men’s and women’s swimwear. He also designs mermaid and mermen tails. The entire line he creates is super fun. I got a chance to talk to the Mertailor, Eric, for a talk about his brand.
I first saw your brand thanks to DW Chase, he posted a picture in one of your swim bikinis. For those of our readers who don’t know about you, tell us about your brand, how did you get started making swimwear?
A: Well, true story! I love Tail! Lol – Actually, when I was a young boy, I love mermaids, Mermen, and the underwater world. So much that I started a company that made functional, mermaid tails that you can swim in. In the process of this, growing up, discovering myself, I always wanted to take my talents and knowledge to the next level. I knew that I had to take my concepts and turn them into everyday attire. I figure the best was to do this was fashion. Why no swimwear, right? It’s fitting! Suits and tails for swimming! So, I created my first line of men’s swimwear, Mertailor Men. It’s been a fun adventure and it’s been far from easy. But, if it were easy, everyone could do it, right?
You initially started making mermaid tails, which are pretty cool! How did that transition into swimwear?
A: My grandparents actually were the original source to thank for my ambitions today. My family and friends support it now. When I was a kid, they brought me to Weeki Wachee Springs to see the mermaid show. It was all glitz, glamour, and a total dream fantasy come true. At that point, I knew I had to do something so unique and unusual to fulfill my fancy. I chose to start making tails for myself, eventually, I was contracted at Weeki Wachee Springs to make my tails, then I started my company making tails, and it just grew from there. From working with spandex fabrics, making patterns, the ability to design and execute, it was an amazing transition.
You make swimwear for men, women, and kids. Did you start with one category or start with them all at once?
I started with the men’s line. As a gay male, I initially wanted my own swimwear for myself and my male clients. Believe it or not, there’s a ton of men who wear tails! It’s amazing! Talk about self-expression. I realized that I had to have matching sets for women and kids. So, we started doing it all. However, my passion for swimwear is directed towards the men’s line. Without a doubt, we are a company that produces items for all genders.
The men’s swimwear is awesome. I love the bikinis and the sea themed prints. It’s like you turned the tails into swimwear! Why did you do the cuts (bikini, trunk, and compression)?
Honestly, they are sexy and popular. But, I wanted to put a twist on the normal. I wanted to show my art to the world and bring awareness of the ocean in a different way than most designers would do.
Which style do your customers tend to buy the most?
From what we have seen, our bikini briefs have been our top sellers.
One thing I thought of is, we have a good mix of readers gay and straight. It would be awesome for men and women to get matching print swimwear. Have you had customers comment that they are doing this?
Oh yes! We have both genders purchase multiple matching items!
My personal favorite print is the Octopus Rock Gold Bomber Trunk! Super fun. How do you find your awesome prints? Do you design them or find them?
Well, I’m extremely artistic and we have a team of artists who share my crazy directions.
Your bio said you used to be a Merman, do you still swim?
Oh yes, as much as I can. Lately not as much as I would appreciate. We act had an underwater studio put in to photograph our products underwater and poolside! This is my grotto 😉

When I was in Dallas, the pair Osgon reviewed (Ghost Brief), had the same awesome material. I kicked myself because I didn’t get a pair for myself. Now, I have an even funner (if that’s a word) pair of undies! After getting to work. I really enjoyed wearing them. My one issue is the leg openings. They were a bit tight at times. The last few pairs of AC have been tight in the legs. Luckily it’s not a constant issue. It’s mainly noticeable when you put them on and then it goes away.
The fabric is a 90% Polyamide 10% Spandex blend. Which feels great! It’s a very silky like feeling to the fabric. It’s very breathable as well. The fabric is a navy blue with red cocks on them. Not those kinds of cocks, the poultry kind. It’s a great play on the word for AC to create. It should go without saying that this is a limited edition pair. So, if you want to rock this on Valentine’s Day, get them now!
The sizing of the pair is pretty much spot on. I got an XL and if you’re a bigger guy you will be able to fit in them. Andrew Christian makes pairs for the bigger guy. Which I am thankful for every day. When I was shopping for new undies, I realized there are some brands that I just can’t fit in. Yes, this year I plan on getting in better shape but us guys on the larger end want to feel sexy as hell too.
Overall I”m glad I got this pair. The print and the fit are both really good. That on top of the Almost Naked pouch and this will be in my rotation and be worn quite a bit. I wonder if I would get looks when I start the gym wearing this pair? Do you think many guys would notice the print? HMMM, just a thought!

When you think of sexy undies and gear, N2N Bodywear is one brand that comes to mind. They have turned sexy gear into an art form. Just when I think I have seen all N2N has to offer, Andrew breaks out something that makes me do a double take! The Sheer Onesie was a pair that did that. You can wear something under it or not. It all depends on your mood.
If you are familiar with their previous Onesie, it’s the same design but with a mesh white or black fabric. The design has a 3/4 sleeve and leg. This is not going to be a pair to keep warm in. You may get hot in it but for different reasons. Personally, I like the pics with a thong or jock under. Just something super sexy about that look to me.
This pair is great for a night in with someone special. But I wouldn’t bet on it being on for too long! It would be pretty awesome to wear this skiing and then take it off when you’re off the slopes for that romantic night. Just sayin’. This just reaffirms why I love N2N Bodywear! They are about making a guy feel amazing and comfortable in the gear he wears!
