I know from talking to a lot of you guys. That you love skimpier cuts, mesh and fun colors. A new brand that has come across my radar fits all these qualifications. It’s call Bite Wear. Bite Wear is a brand out of Columbia. It used Columbian fabrics to create a sexy, yet fun line.

One thing is consistent across the line. It’s all about sex appeal. There are a number of thongs in the collection. However, don’t mistake the boxer briefs as not being sexy. They have mesh and cut outs to date to bare as much as you want. If you’re a fan of purple, this line is going to be awesome for you! There are pairs in purple and a lot of other pairs use purple trim and waistbands. Other colors used are black and a teal color.

We are going to walk you through the line. It’s not a super huge line. We hope you will enjoy this new line!

Is running an underwear blog as glamorous as it seems? Why yes it is! Said sarcastically! It’s a lot of work. UNB enters out 8th year of serving guys the latest in underwear, swimwear and more. Planning the week starts on Sunday and usually by Monday afternoon the schedule has gone crazy.

This is not because things go awry here. There is so much going on in the world of underwear, things get juggled. It has taught me to come up with a tentative schedule. We will get notice a new brand is out and will have to shuffle posts around. I have long given up on having a set editorial calendar each week. It’s more go with the flow.

What will your support mean? We can do more shoots and improve the blog. Recently we ran a poll about real guys in shoots. You guys asked why didn’t we get a brand to support it. Well, that’s a long discussion. It’s just, currently, easier if we take this project on and see it through. We would love brand support on these projects.

We currently don’t take money for posts and don’t have any intrusive advertisements. Why do we do this? First, we want to be objective and not be paid to post some. If you guys love something we will post more about it, if not we won’t. Next, reader experience is most important to me. I HATE sites with ads that take over the screen, videos that open from nowhere and ads between posts. Sites that does this, I never come back too. We may at some point may need to take on more advertising but we won’t have it be intrusive to your experience.

If you want to donate, go to the UNB Patreon page. Even just $1 a month will make a difference. Enough guys giving $1 can turn into something big! At the $1 level we are letting every one of our Patrons into our Private Slack for supporters. It’s a place you can talk undies and get to know the editorial guys and also other supporters. It’s a great group of guys and we have some good conversations!

BodyAware has a new website! To celebrate the occasion they are giving you 15% off your purchase. Use code Take15 at check out! This includes the Greek God Brief pictured above! BodyAware has really gone mainstream in the last year. We hear so many of you, that shop there and love what they are doing. They have their own take on men’s underwear and it’s working for them!

One of the fabrics guys are loving, from BodyAware is lace. The Normandy Lace Collection has released a few new styles. Guys are loving the mix of masculine and feminine. BodyAware has been on the front line of the lace underwear movement.

Normandy Lace Cheek Brief – This reminds me of a boy short than a brief. The back is not a full back. Made with a pouch to give you support. they call this pair deliciously provocative. Available in three colors. Black, Pink and Aqua and retails for $21.95.

Normandy Lace Pouch Brief – My one issue with lace has always been the pouch. Some brands don’t make a great pouch to hold everything. The Lace Pouch Brief solves that problem. It has a great pouch that should hold most guys wanting to try lace. It is available in the same colors as the Lace Cheek Brief, but add an additional color of White. It retails for $20.95

There is one more pair. The Normandy Lace Briefs. It has a similar cut as the Lace Cheek Brief. However, it has a fuller back. It has a pouch built into the design. The design also has no elastic in the legs to make it more comfortable. Made in the same colors as the Lace Pouch Brief. It retails for $22.95

If you are a fan of lace or want to give it a try. Now is the time. You can save some  money and give it a try.

8thanniversaryThis week marks my 8th anniversary of UNB. 8 years of talking and writing about underwear. It seems like yesterday I sat down in front of my computer and started this journey. I won’t go into the origins story, I have done that so many times over the years!

What has 8 years of UNB taught me over the years?

I am the IT guy – When UNB was first launched we had shared hosting. Which was great till we grew too big and had to get our own server. A friend helped me move it over and then March hit this past month. We were down for the most of a 4 day period. This taught me all about web servers and moving WordPress sites.

Underwear Guys are the best guys – Over the years I have talked and befriended many readers out there. Regardless of bi, gay or straight, underwear guys are the most amazing guys. The blog has let me meet so many good guys. We begin with the underwear connection and then discover more we have in common. The support from long-time readers is amazing. You guys remind me why I do this, for 8 years.

Problem-solving is one of my strengths – UNB is on a budget. You may think we are this glamorous organization but we aren’t. We range from 4 to 12 guys over the years. When we have issues that hit the blog, I have to come up with a way to solve them. Usually on a budget and creatively. In the early years I would freak out and worry, now its worry then “I got this.” I have fixed many problems I never thought I could on my own.

What will the next few year hold? I’m not sure, other than the blog will go on! We are in the process of developing a community amongst all the underwear guys out there. It’s amazing how we are all very similar. Across all sexual identities, we virtually have the same story.

We are going to do some more anniversary stuff next week. The reason is I think of UNB as created in Mid October, when in fact the domain renewal is the first week in October. Stay Tuned and I’ll walk you through some of our best moments of UNB! .

is_nylon_orange-front_161004081400I think aussieBum has made underwear for just about every holiday you can think of on the calendar. The latest range is the Monster Mash, just in time for Halloween. But, it’s not just underwear but swimwear and singlet. Singlet as in tank top in Austrailia, not a wrestling singlet.

The official text is: “It’s time to rattle those ‘pots and pans’ for Halloween festivities. Working with our talented mate Paul we present the Good ‘Ol Days – Monster Mash inspired Zombie crew. Available in limited edition underwear, swimwear and boardies these babies are going to howl in your pants and have your friends wanting to peek inside. Monster Mash is custom engineered and built to last. Have fun this summer as aussieBum celebrates Halloween.”

The styles are for underwear are just briefs. Sorry there are no hipsters in this line. Each color has a different monster on the pouch. They appear to be Frankenstein, Werewolf, and a Zombi. Each of the three have their own colors as well. It’s also more of a traditional cut brief.

The swimwear wear comes in three different styles. I call them the brief, short and trunk. The brief is very similar to the Super low line. Made out of 100% Polyester. The trunk is the shorter cut of the two short of the two. It has an elastic waistband with a drawstring. The Short is more of a board short, has a solid waistband with a snap. Each has a unique print of the three different characters. Each differ from style to style. Lastly, is the singlet. It matches perfectly with the rest of the line. It’s not matchy matchy but compliments the rest of the collection. It also has a black stripe on each side. Perfect to be worn to the beach or pool.

I like these because they aren’t too holiday specific. They can be worn year round. Especially if you like graphic/cartoon prints. Make sure you check out the entire line!

The cost are:

  • Brief $21.75
  • Swim brief $21.75
  • trunk $25.50
  • Short $50.75
  • Singlet $21.75

supawear-pinapple-1

Contrary to our opinion here at UNB, not every guy wants to wear a swim brief. I know that’s crazy talk from us here at UNB. Some guys want some super stylish shorts that look good on the beach or pool. If that guy is you, then you need to see the latest line from SupaWear. The new SupaDupa shorts have some great prints.

Here is the official description from SupaWear:

The new Supadupa shorts are Supawear’s revamped and revitalized beach range. Confident, masculine and bold, these are designed to be fitted but at the same time offering enough stretch for comfort. Supa lightweight with bright, bold and vibrant prints that make this the essential summer short.

There are three different prints. The Ahoy!, Blossom and the Pineapple. Both are a lot of fun without being over the top. They will get you noticed for the right reasons by the water. The Pineapple is just that a print with a green background. On that green background is a pineapple print. My favorite is the pineapple rings. Gives it a bit more fun! The Blossom is a floral print but not the typical beach floral print. It has a solid background with a few flowers on the print. You won’t get overwhelmed with a crazy print. The last is the Ahoy! A navy background with nautical symbols in pink. It really pops.

All of these are really great pairs. Perfect for any beach or pool. Find them at the SupaWear site! Then go out and have some fun in the sun!

b6d013553e104e1eab0824319cd66e17-jpg-500-500-cropped-highC-IN2 is no stranger to making great jocks. Previous pairs they have shaped the design of their current jocks. The Grip line was one of the first to have this unique design that is the Culture Club Street Jock. The straps that come around and attach on the waistband above the pouch.

We chose this line is because of the great colors C-IN2 does for Culture Club. The Culture Club line started with some bright and fun prints. This collection still has prints but they are a bit more subtle. The prints are Croc Print (green), Herring Bone (blue), Hounds Tooth (purple) and Shark Skin (orange/purple).

There are two different C-IN2 waistbands in this collection. The first two have a waistband with a blue stripe at the bottom. The last two have the same gray band with an orange stripe at the bottom. It matches the pair very nicely. The gray background and colored stripe is the perfect accent.

The Culture Club street jock is made out of a 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex/Elastane/Lycra. Which means it will be super comfy no matter what you do in this jock. It can be worn to the gym, under your work clothes or just around the house. Fashion jocks are made for everyday wear not just working out and the gym!

If you are after a stylish and fun jock, this is the pair for you. It will have a print you will love that will fit your style. From more conservative to a bright!

michel-blue-b1

Looking for something new? The Rufskin Michel could be the pair for you. Made out of an ultra soft, stretch rayon-spandex jersey. They say this about the pair: This deconstructed brief features a fully lined front pouch with contoured seam, an elegant contrast arched panel adorns the waist. ¼” flex elastic around the waist and leg openings for a flattering, supportive fit. 2 color options. Available in Blue or Navy. Retails for $36.00

cat_fw16_underwear68271Nasty Pig was once a fetish brand. No longer, I think they have ventured out in the mainstream. They are showing at the shows in Vegas and making underwear you can see on every guy. Don’t worry they didn’t abandon their fetish roots. There are still many things that is still considered fetish. Including harnesses, jocks and more.

The newest line is the Slash line. Made up of a brief and jock in two different colors. The two colors are blue and Red. Made out of their cotton ribbed fabric that is one of their popular fabrics. Each one has the Nasty Pig waistband. Which has the Nasty Pig name in front with stripes going around the brand.

The brief has a cool design. In the blue, the pouch has the blue fabric and the rest is in black. The red has a black pouch with red around the sides and back. I liked that it’s not the same in each color. They changed it up a bit in the design process. I want to say good job Nasty Pig

The jocks have the same type of design as the briefs. The jock has a stripe down the middle of the middle of the pouch. The blue has the blue stripe in the middle. The red has the black stripe down the middle. It’s a small touch that I think is awesome.

Nasty Pig did something creative in this line. It may look simple and basic. However, they paid attention to how the colors are put together. I say great job Nasty Pig! Keep up the amazing work!

Also, if you have been after their Union Suits, they are back in stock. They won’t last long though. They are already sold out of the Black. Hurry and don’t miss them. You’ll have to wait till next year

BRAND: Nasty Pig
PAIR: Slash Jock and Brief
COLORS: Red or Blue
FABRIC: Cotton Ribbed Fabric
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $29 for both styles

aussieBum is no stranger to making sexy underwear. Some of the past pairs we have loved are the Gladiator, BillyBoy and more. However, they haven’t made a lot of jocks in the past. They make more briefs and hipsters. If you are a fan of aussieBum and jocks, you are in luck with the new range Lasher.

Lasher is a range featuring two styles an Xposed brief and jockstrap. It’s their answer to the jockbrief. But, with the aussieBum twist! It’s made with a breathable fabric that makes it great for an active guy. This could be worn to the gym, running or any other athletic activity. A lot of the underwear aussieBum creates is made to be worn anywhere. It’s made for the gym but can be worn to the office

The Lasher line is made out of a 90% Polyester/10% Elastane fabric. This is what gives it the breathability and comfort. The colors offered are Blue, White and Red. The colors of the Australian flag. The waistband is a red aussieBum band. Unlike other lines each pair in this range has the red band. It looks great against the blue and white.

The jocks that aussieBum makes have small leg straps. They aren’t the traditional 1 inch straps but about 1/4 inch. Many fashion jocks have smaller leg straps. I think this is a perfect addition to the jock. This I would consider more of a fashion jock. Not because of the design, but less and less guys are wearing jocks to the gym or be active in.

If you’re looking for a great range for working out and being comfy, check out the Lasher line from aussieBum. It’s out now!

trick-front-alex_1024x1024We are entering the season of doom and gloom! Well, not really but we are entering the holiday seasons. Halloween is first up. On top of the amazing costumes some of you do, did you know that you can wear Halloween-themed underwear?

I admit there is some underwear that is holiday themed and it’s horrible. Think of any type of boxers sold at any big box retailer. Other than being boxers, they are always over the top and more joke than everyday wear.

BodyAware has released the Trick or Treat Brief and thong. This is Halloween underwear done the BodyAware way. The fabric is black with an orange metallic overlay of Halloween pumpkins, stars, and bats. It’s a fun print without being too over the top. I personally love the metallic orange over the black. It’s very Halloween!

The brief is a bigger cut brief. Many of the briefs they sell are cut more like bikinis. This is more the size of a trunk, rather than brief. The orange trim on the leg gives it a bit more of the Halloween spirit. The waistband is covered in the black fabric. I like this touch because orange at the top would be a bit over too far.

The thong has the same fabric as the brief. It also has the orange trim around the legs. I’m not sure about the back, its not shown in the pictures. BodyAware knows how to make some great thongs!

These would be pairs you wear out that you want to be seen. Maybe riding up while wearing a pair of low rise jeans. But thats jus my opinion. Pick any spooky occasion to wear these this Halloween.

BRAND: BodyAware

PAIR: Trick-or-Treat Brief Thong

COLORS: As Seen

FABRIC: 80% Nylon/20% Spandex

SIZES: Small – XX-Large

COST:  $19.99 /$19.99

does-mainstream1I was talking to a new potential UNB guy this weekend. He mentioned that he was reading one of the big sites. They interviewed women on what underwear they want to see their guys in, and it was boxers and boxer briefs. We both went “HUH?” Being gay has made this easier. It’s more socially acceptable that we can wear anything we want. Becuase after all underwear is gay (said with implied sarcasm).

I have talked with so many guys, gay/straight/bi, that love underwear. They all want the same thing. Something that is fashionable, fun and makes them feel great. It’s an extension of their personality as much as their clothes or hair style. Sometimes it’s even more of a state because of a conservative environment. Underwear is the one area they can express themselves.

The US Mainstream media reinforces the notation that underwear is about function, not form. Underwear is something that is to be made fun of let’s not even get into the whole “you’re gay” for liking underwear thing. We are striving to fight this labeling. We have readers who are gay, straight and bi.

When a major outlet talks about underwear they always show boxer briefs and trunks. Few rarely show briefs, jocks or thongs. It’s always conservative colors and styles. So, I do believe that the media reinforces the “you must wear this type of underwear.” If you don’t wear what everyone else is wearing there is something wrong with you. You need to fit in with the rest of society.

We disagree with this big time. Underwear is one area we can truly express ourselves in a personal way. We can wear exactly what makes us feel sexy and gives us confidence. That is the point most mainstream media leaves out. They look at underwear as a necessity, not a way to express exactly who you are!

Over the course of my 8 years doing this blog I have met so many guys. We all want the same thing. Underwear that fits great and makes us feel sexy. Look at the make up of our guys! Sorry for the rant. I just saw something that just pissed me off in the media and had to vent.
