I have an online friend that I have gotten into underwear. He’s never really been into it and is starting the journey. I have been giving him an education on brands and styles. This past conversation involved fabrics and what to wear when. He’s used to the big box undies made out of 100% cotton. I told him they must go.

Giving him homework to look and see what’s out there. I have pointed him to International Jock, Dead Good Undies, Andrew Christian, Gregg Homme, Bruno Menswear and a few more. I want to show him that underwear has a function (such as daily wear) and fun (such as erotic wear). This will allow him to find his own style and brands he loves.

One thing he pointed out was “underwear is expensive.” As most of you know this is very true. A good pair of underwear will set you back $15 or more. Depending on the brand it can be $30 or more. Starting out, I don’t recommend going out and spending big money on brands you have never tried. Now, if you have plenty of money to spend and won’t miss it, then by all means, go shop and try it all. If, however, you’re like me and on a budget, that’s unrealistic.

How do you grow your collection without breaking the bank?

  1. Cheapundies.com – This is your best friend when starting. This is the site where you can try some of the best brands at incredible prices. Even the Cheapundies brand has really impressed me with the low price and amazing quality. Some downsides: Things sell out fast, be on the email list and shop early. Especially mediums and smalls. Not all brands are on it. And not every day will have a deal on a style or brand you may want.
  2. Discount Stores – While, not as good as they used to be, you can occasionally find good deals at Marshalls, TJ Maxx & Ross Dress for Less. While in Vegas a few years back, I found the 2(X)ist Sliq Mesh briefs for around 8 bucks a pair. Some downsides: The selection is not always great. Brands seem to be limited from what they sold in the past. You will have to dig through to find gold. There really is no organization by brand or size. Those who will root through it all may find some deals.
  3. Clearance sales – Both online and in department stores. These happen at the end of the seasons. Usually late summer and winter. You can find some amazing deals on these sales. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I was in Macy’s and found undies marked down. Some downsides: sizing is limited a lot of times. Leaving more large and X-Large over mediums. Colors will be sold out and usually, the least popular colors are left.
  4. Daily Deals – Not all brands have these but some do. They give you a discount for a limited time on a pair. After the time is over or they are sold out, the deal disappears. The best example of this is the Baskit $12 Tuesday. These are not as popular as they once were.
  5. Sales – Around holidays, specifically big ones. i.e. Christmas, Memorial Day, 4th of July. They can come out with some big sales. The thing to do is find the brand/retailer you like best, join their email list and shop when they have a good sale. I use this on brands that are pricey that I don’t buy every day.

Some things to look out for when growing your collection:

  • Counterfeit undies – Believe it or not they exist. Specifically, on Ebay and other online super discounted sites. These pairs are not made as well as the official pairs. If you can find a pair of Andrew Christian on one of these sites for $4, it’s probably not real. If it’s too good to be true, it prob is. Stick with well-known sites. If you have questions feel free to reach out to us and ask if we’ve heard of a site.
  • Return Policies – Some sites and even states don’t offer returns on underwear unless it’s defective. If you get something you don’t like, you could be stuck with it
  • Sizing issues – Not all underwear is created the same. When buying a new brand read up on the sizing and make sure you are getting the right size. Read our sizing guide, ask friends or ask Twitter. People will gladly give feedback on sizing!

I hope this helps you guys grow your collections!

This is a personal project Adrian did with model Brian Garcia in the forests of Tenerife, Canary Islands. Brian is 23 years, he’s fitness maniac and as you can see he’s blonde, so much that he’s almost albino. This is part of a project he’s working on with different models and the underwear brand MaleBasics.

It’s a new year and new time for new undies. If you are a fan of geometric designs and interesting colors, the new SupaWear Vortex line is for you. SupaWear and 2EROs have really taken the underwear world by storm in the last 8 years. Jason, the owner/designer has brought his vision to life!

Here is what they say about the new collection:

Vortex is fast, powerful and everything around it gravitates towards it. Focusing on form and structure, Vortex is combined with Supawear’s signature colour blocking and panelled design to accentuate the male form.

The one thing that will strike you is the color combinations. SupaWear is known for taking colors you would never think of for underwear. Putting them in a color block design and it looks amazing. They have an eye for colors and how they work together. I personally would never think of putting these combinations together.

The styles are some of the standards for SupaWear. The brief, trunk and jock. One style I”m glad to see are the leggings. Long Johns/Leggings are really entering the fashion world. Especially in the last few years. More brands need to make them, not everyone wants the boring white. They want to show their style when out skiing or other winter activities.

We hope you will check out the new line and enjoy some super fun and colorful undies! Shop at the SupaWear site!

As we posted earlier with our jock post. It’s New Years resolution times to work out. Some of you out there are starting their journey, while others are looking for new gear for the new year. Some of you will be bold enough to wear these to the gym, while others will wear shorts over them! If you are wear the Shades of Grey Leggings.

The leggings are made out the favorite Shades of Grey fabric from Marco Marco. Which is a high-performance spandex material, with a black 4 way mesh fabric to give you some extra breathability. Top that with the Marco Marco waistband and bright yellow trim. Makes these a pair that will get you noticed at the gym.

The leggings have the same fit as their briefs. Meaning that there is a great pouch built in the pair. Which means you could wear with or without underwear. It would be my personal inclination you can skip an extra pair of undies. This is the main reason I think some guys won’t wear them by themselves. They don’t want to show off at the gym. While a few of our readers, you know who you are, will wear them to the gym because of this pouch.

Marco Marco is known for using some bright colors and designing gear that will catch people’s eye. It’s for the guy who’s confident to wear and not worry about what people have to say about them. If you love these you should check out their underwear and swimwear. Each one of those has the same design sense. They include the same bright colors and some really fun mesh panels. Make sure you check out the entire line!

Back in the day, jocks were pretty much what you wore to the gym. They were made to give you plenty of support and maximum freedom. One small trivia bit, the stripes on the waistband on the classic Bike #10 jocks stripes were different for each sizes. Made that way so you could sort jocks without having to read the label.

Back to the point of the post! Now guys are wearing UnderArmour undies, briefs, trunks and even thongs to the gym. It’s rare you may see a guy change at the gym wearing a thong, but they are wearing them. Many are using them under runners or spandex so they have no or limited lines.

Why Do I like Jocks to work out

I like to wear a jock because of the range of motion. Unlike trunks or UA gear. You are able to bend and stretch. Wearing something like a boxer brief it can ride up when you bend down or stretch too far. There is nothing more annoying to me. A jock won’t loose it’s shape and bind when you stretch.

Jocks for working out, not fashion jocks, are made for exercising. They are made out of material that will keep you cool and dry. One thing I could never figure out is how guys can work out in 100% cotton briefs or boxer briefs. They get wet and don’t breath through the work out. It annoys me to no end.

Lastly, you can express yourself in your jock. Long gone are the days of just the white jock. You can get them in any color of the rainbow. It can even match your workout gear. Most of the sports jocks are solids. I haven’t seen too many prints. I prefer blue, green and red jocks to work out in. It gets me in a good mood!

Are you going to wear a jock to work out? If you are let me know!

One of the biggest trends in men’s underwear, we are seeing, are pouches. Pouches made for guys to feel great and have amazing support. Joe Snyder is a company that has been known to have some smaller pouches. When I talked to them in Vegas a few years ago, they acknowledged it and said they would be rectifying the pouch situation. It started with the Pride Frame and now the SK Collection, aka Mini Cheek Sock It

When I first saw the collection, it caught me a little off-guard. Why? Because it’s so not what I expect from Joe Snyder. They have a look and style that they have been known for and it’s worked well for them. The SK Bikini, I thought was from another brand. I did a double take when I saw it was Joe Snyder.

I applaud them for stepping out of the tried and true designs. Doing something different and taking a risk. I think it is one that will pay off big for them in the long run. The pair to me is super sexy. I want a pair now! The pouch looks amazing. They look like they can fit the bigger boys and still have plenty of room left over!  As you can see from the image above, the pouch looks small. However, from the side, you can see how big it is.

The minimal waistband will be a welcome addition by guys who aren’t fans of big waistbands. Another plus as far as I’m concerned is the full back. From the looks of the front, you would assume that its got a half back or less. The full coverage and great pouch makes this a win!

One thing I have always loved about Joe Snyder is the use of colors. They always release their pairs in amazing colors. Their well-known purple, pink and navy are all included. As are others such as the white and black mesh. Regardless of your color prefernce, you will find your perfect color.

PAIR: Mini Cheek Sock It
COLORS: Yellow, Wine, White, Turquoise, Red, Purple, Black, Navy, Black Mesh, White Mesh, Black Lace or White lace
FABRIC: TBA
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $30.00

One of my favorite new brands is Bruno Menswear. It’s a super creative brand out of Mexico. We have profiled it a few times but each time I go on their site I keep seeing things that I love. One of them is the Body Intense singlet. Well, it’s a mix between a singlet and a jock.

After I fell in love with underwear, singlets/spandex were next. I have always loved new and interesting designs. Bruno is all about showing off a guy. It could be from the way the pouch is made, to the cuts and fabrics. They are all about celebrating the guy. Some of you may not like these sort of things but they go hand in hand with undies, as far as I am concerned.

The Body Intense is part of the Intense line from Bruno. It’s their fetish line that has influences of leather and rubber. They have a few harnesses in this collection. From the traditional looking leather ones to more spandex/elastic ones.

How is this like a singlet or jock? Well, just look at the picture. The strips cross as they go up over your shoulders. The back has an almost tank top like feel. The bottom has a full pouch but the back is cut out like a jock. This pair is all about showing off. If you’re going to wear this you want someone to see you in it. Am I right?

Bruno Menswear is not about avoiding the pouch. Most of their designs have pouches designed to fit a man and I love this about them. We are guys and we need room in the front! To have a brand who embraces this is a great thing.

If you want something fun, maybe for Valentine’s day coming up, think about this pair or one of the others from Bruno Menswear.
