Curve and Magic 2010

I just got back home after the shows I attended in Vegas! If you are not familiar with the shows, they are held twice a wear in Vegas. They are for the underwear brands to show the up coming lines for buyers to purchase for their stores. It’s a trade show for underwear that is only open to buyers, brands and press. Curve is a show that is more of a skew towards woman’s under and swimwear. There are men’s brands that go including some big names such as Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss. Where as Magic is clothing in general. They have several different areas there. Men’s Wear, Women’s, Project which is the new and hip and of course underwear.  I got some great face time with all the brands there. Which is a really good thing. I was able to see the new lines and talk about things going on in the world of mens’ underwear. Communicating through email is fine but it’s really great to have the opportunity to meet and build a better relationship.

Unlike the last time I went to Magic, I was able to go longer then a day. I spent about a day at each of the shows. At both shows the underwear companies are grouped together. But don’t let that fool you, because it means a lot of walking. The only one I didn’t get to see was 2xist. They were in Project. Which means another badge and I never got to get one. I hope next time I will be able to meet them.

I am going to go into more  in depth on each of the brands including videos! I was going to do separate videos for both shows, which I will still be doing, but I had several companies that wanted too, record a message, and I feel that instead of having them and making a 10 min video I would upload them on our YouTube channel and post them on the site as well! Not everyone did one but I hope to do more next time.

But you will be reported on when I do more in depth.

I mailed everything home and thought it wouldn’t be here till Wednesday, but Priority Mail from Vegas came in virtually a day! I mailed it early Saturday and it arrived today, Monday! But I wanted to get a quick thing out and I”ll have a lot more about the lines! So this will be a heavy posting week!

Review: Cocksox CX01 Pink

I have been doing the blog for almost two years. It’s really allowed me the opportunity to try many brands. One of those brands has been Cocksox. And I must say they have become one of my favorite brands out there. I love the fit and the pouch they have created.

I originally wore this pair to an interview, but when I looked down at my dress pants, I realized that this was not a good idea. So, for that day I changed them. You have to remember there is underwear for different occasions and this was not an interview pair. I’m sure they would have looked at me and gone, um, are you serious?

Then I wore these the following day. First, let me say that the color is awesome. It’s not a pastel pink; it’s more of a dark pink. It’s not pair that if someone saw they would think right away PINK! “You are wearing Pink Undies!” To me it’s more of a masculine color, well if pink can be! You may disagree there but the fun factor is really incredible!

We received an email a while back from a reader, John, and he asked we include sizing information in our reviews. Which to me is a great idea and I realized we weren’t doing it. I think sizing is one very important issue that we all face in the world of undies and its important for you to know if the size we received actually fit. Companies vary sizes and sometimes its hard to pick. I will say that for Cocksox that you need to buy a size down. This is the only company I will tell you to do this with. I have bought my size and they can be big. So when in doubt buy smaller. Their sizes also are a little strange for the US market. So double check before you buy and if you ever have questions about sizing send us an email. If we have tried it, we can give you some good advice. We are always here for helping you guys when we can. So don’t be shy!

My overall opinion on these is they are awesome. I love the fit in the pouch and the seat. It will be one of my favorite pairs I already know. So far all I have tried of Cocksox has been amazing.

Review: Equmen Precision Long Trunks

I was really excited when I got these. Our friends at Fresh Pair sent us a few pairs to review. I have reviewed the trunks about a year ago, but was really excited to add these to my collection. I really loved the Trunks. I was hoping for the same with these. The best thing is they match the blue ones I already have, so I can wear them with what I have! So having them matching is a good thing.

I have recently started my own biz, outside the underwear site, so I do a lot of networking and meeting people. Which it never seems to stop, so I need underwear with incredible support. I don’t want to be adjusting things in the middle of a meeting. So, I wore these to a busy day of networking and running around. I wanted to see how well they would do through out the day.

They really are good pair. They are made to give you support and comfort through out the day. These were a perfect pair to wear. They are made out of really good quality materials. The materials consist of Nylon, Micropolyester and Spandex. These ensure that the fit is great and hold up over time.

A note that they are pricey but in my opinion they are def worth it. Its great support through out your day. So if you are going to be active I would say definitely invest in them. They won’t let you down.

In Fresh Pair

Review: Unico Boxer Copa Corto Celda

I was glad when Fresh Pair sent more underwear to review.  This time it was my favorite, UNICO!  Of course, I was overjoyed.  I love Unico!  Did I say I love Unico?  The pair I received was the Boxer Copa Corro Celda, a very bright and fun boxer. When I say boxer, I mean more of a trunk.

The colors and designs made this pair so much fun.  Unico can do really awesome and things with color.  They are not afraid to step outside the box which is what they did with this choice.  It was something I wore under shorts.  Don’t you love it when you wear a pair that puts a little something extra in your step?

I know many of you are probably tired of me gushing about them, but you’ll just have to keep reading.  They fit incredibly!  I love the fit of the pouch.  I don’t know what they do with their pouches, but they just fit me like a glove.  I really forget I’m wearing them.  It’s very ergonomic to my build.  I hate undies with no support and since my first time wearing them, I have fallen in love with Unico’s ability to supply just that.  No matter what style they make, from thongs to boxers, you know it will fit perfectly.

Because these are so awesomely fun and festive, I have nothing bad to say about them.  If you have never tried Unico, you really should!  You will definitely like them and wear them often.  A piece of advice before you buy Unico… make sure you buy a size larger than normal.  It seems to work out best for everyone we’ve heard from at Underwear News Briefs.  They tend to run smaller on sizing.  With that in mind, go shop!

Review: N2N Waistband Brief

This is my last review of N2N and also one of my favorites.  I love the entire Waistband Collection.  I love the look, the fit, and the feel of the line.  I love how Andrew has taken a very traditional look and turned it into something sexy and different.  Then, he took what can be called one of the worst fitting undies, traditional tighty-whities, available in discount stores, and gave them a fit that holds up and feels incredible.  I love how he also, in this collection, has mixed black with red. It’s a great twist on a traditional line.

Like I said, these have been awesome.  I have enjoyed them and hope to see an expansion on this line.  It first came out in the last N2N collection but they’ve now added the colors.  The materials are awesome and the construction is one of the best in the underwear business.  These are some I would wear at anytime.  They definitely are in my top underwear drawer…part of the heavy rotation undies.

If you have never before tried N2N and you are looking for something somewhat wild, try these for sure.  If you are a fan of N2N and haven’t tried these, round out your collection with a purchase of the Waistband Brief.

Review: N2N Freedom Brief

I love it when we receive underwear from one of my favorite companies to review.  N2N has come out with great new lines in the last two months.  My review pair for this article is the N2N Freedom Brief.  This is a brief that, at first, caught me off guard.  I was expecting a brief that kept everything close and gave me super support.

I wore these twice before I wrote this review.  The material used to make this brief is very loose fitting.  I know it’s a strange thing to say.  It’s not a thick cotton material, rather a thinner, almost mesh, material.  It fits you well but it isn’t as supportive as I was expecting.  I thought I would hate it at first, but I didn’t.  It turns out that liked it.  I wouldn’t wear it for something active, but a date night would be perfect.  As an added bonus, the colors as awesome in red and blue, being my two favorite colors for undies.

The N2N line is really well made.  I have never had an issue with them and have enjoyed what I’ve received from them over the years.  They are quite creative with their fun and sexy designs.  It’s amazing what they do and are constantly innovating.

Piss & Vinegar I LOVE Boxer Brief

It is said that the third time is a charm and so it was with Piss & Vinegar, a brand that really has fun with undies.  You can tell this by their use of colors, patterns, and designs.  It’s great to see a company having such fun.  I don’t think undies should be boring.  They should be an extension of our personality.  All too often, undies are overlooked, but I’m glad we have some awesome readers and we know for the majority of us, this is not the case.

The pair I received was “I Love Buddha.”  I’m not a Buddhist, but the pair goes along with the line including a love for Girls, Boys, and Jesus.  You can proclaim your love to a sex or religion!  I wore these to a party and was glad I did.  It was a warm night and would have otherwise worn either a brief or a jock, but knew I needed to review this brief.  I was hoping for the best.

As the night carried on, I forgot what I was wearing.  With me and boxer briefs, that’s a good thing.  I believed I had worn a brief and it wasn’t till later that I remembered, speaking volumes for the brief and how it fit me.

The fit was awesome.  I couldn’t have been more pleased.  The materials are high quality and moved with me…not restricting.  It was made very well.  I haven’t had any problems with the three pairs I now own.  Those obviously having fun patterns!

In Curve Trade Show

UNB Goes to Magic and Curve

The posts over the next few days maybe scarce. I am going to both underwear shows Magic and Curve. They are both industry shows that underwear companies go to, to show the new line to buyers.

I have gotten into both shows and leave for Las Vegas on Tuesday and then come home on Sunday. I am going to set up most of the posts to automatically post over the next week. But there will only be two posts a day.

There will be pictures sent out via twitter and Facebook so Make sure you are following us on both of those. I will do a full post hopefully Friday with pictures on both and will be working on a video. It is my goal to bring you the actual brands talking about the new lines and showing it to you. This will be early next week before it’s edited and out.

This weekend I”m taking a much needed vacation, my first one since 2008. So forgive me if the posts are slim over the next week. I just need out about the new lines for you and then take a break.

New Model Corey Kirk

Growing up in a small town with big dreams, does that sound like you? Corey Kirk was born in a small Northern Ontario Canada community and not only dreamed about becoming somebody, he put a plan in motion that made him able to achieve things the normal everyday person couldn’t do. In 2005, he decided to leave the comfort of his hometown to actively pursue his passion in modeling by dedicating every moment to fully understanding all aspects of business. Academically he holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and a post-graduate degree in advertising. The body also needed to follow and with the boxer build handed down from his grandfather, he began hitting the gym with a passion 6 days a week. To add to the weight training, he also trained mixed martial arts and competed on a national level for submission grappling.

At the age of 21, Corey decided it was time to enter the largest Canadian market and make the move to Toronto to further his modeling career. With the philosophy of “All camera time is good camera time”, he accepted photo shoots at every possible opportunity. Ever since establishing himself in Toronto, he had found himself shooting anywhere from 3 to 5 shoots a week across Southern Ontario. He states, “Every shoot you learn something new and grow as a model” and that vision has brought him to New York City in recent times to shoot with some of America’s top male photographers.

Primarily focused on figure and fitness modeling, he can be seen on many social networking sites, international blogs, and fashion web stores. DNA magazine recently featured him on their blog and has touted him as an up and comer with “the most impressive abs we’ve seen in a while”.

Being extremely active has allowed him to carry a very lean body all year around. At 5’11 and 180 pounds, Corey’s sizing is as followed: Waist 32, Neck 15 ½, Chest 44 ½, Jacket 42 R, Shirt Mens Small, and Shoe 11. Adding to those measurements are dark brown hair and green eyes.

His motivation to be successful is deep with much inspiration around him at all times. The primary source of his drive comes from his beautiful American girlfriend that inspires him to provide the both of them with the life they always wanted. Making her proud everyday is a task he strives to achieve and takes great pride in accomplishing. The modeling world brought him to her and he forever owes the industry for bringing great joy to his life. Being able to do something the everyday normal person can’t do is also something that generates excitement within Corey’s mind. Always one with a creative side, the modeling and acting is the personal release of built up creativity for him. No theme or concept is too far out of the box and he is willing to go to great lengths to achieve top quality outputs.

The passion and determination of this model is deep and the momentum he is carrying with him will provide many opportunities in the future. Big things are coming as he plans for a busy summer and fall season in 2010.

Allen Walker is one of the newest additions to the impressive lineup of handsome male models who adorn the pages of International Jock. Allen has been in Los Angeles pursuing his modeling and acting career for just over six months. He recently signed with Nous Model Management where his career has been flourishing. In addition to his recent mens underwear and mens swimwear shoots for International Jock, Allen has worked for Abercrombie, completed an editorial for Out Magazine with photographer Doug Inglish and another with photographer Bruce Weber.
