It’s UNB Swimwear Guide time! This year we had an amazing shoot. It’s a bit smaller than previous guides but worked out for the best. We had two returning models Chandler and Martin. Chandler has been in a few different shoots and Martin was last seen in our Swimwear Guide from 2015. New model Nate joined us for this shoot. You may have seen some of his pics on Instagram! If you would have told me there would be a certain sector of guys who would go crazy over swim thongs. I would have thought you were crazy a few years ago. But over the last year, we have seen growth in the swim thong market. Not only from gay guys but straight guys. YES, straight guys are going suns out buns out for summer. We are reaching a point where underwear/swimwear is no longer gay. It’s for all guys.
Today we chose the JOR Sunny Swim thong. It’s going to be in our Swimwear Guide (we shot it yesterday) and available in solids and prints. One color it is available in is Fuchsia. Last year we introduced you to two swim thongs from JOR. They were the Ipanema swim thong (0354) and the Sport swim thong (0355). This year JOR is introducing the sister to their Sunny swim bikini brief they released last year. The Sunny Swim Thong is the newest swim thong in their line up. It’s great to see JOR introducing more swim thongs to their line. We’ve been seeing brands start dipping their toes into the men’s swim thong market.
JOR’s Sunny swim thong is available in 6 color options. You have the choice from three solid colors and three prints. Your solid options are black, fuchsia, and white. Your first print option they call it gray, which also contains white, red, and black. The pattern sort of resembles horizontal fish scales, but not uniform sizes. The next pattern is called pink. The pattern reminds me of Native American ones. The main color of this one is actually white, with the pattern on it in pink, orange, light blue, purple, and black. Your last pattern choice is called yellow. This one’s base color is yellow and has a bunch of interlocking white rings outlined in black.
JOR calls the fabric microfiber and is quick drying and resilient. The fabric is a blend of 84% nylon and 16% spandex. The swim thong is made in Colombia with USA and Colombian fabrics. They are available in sizes small to extra large. The JOR logo and name is on a small tag located on the left hip of the thong.

JOR is well known for its prints. Every year they release such new prints. It really amazes me how the find all these prints. It’s not like they have one print they just changed the color or changed up a few things. They have prints that consist of cities, plants, animals, and more.
In the new prints, they are the Choco, Dandy, Pride, Tatocoa, Parce, Amazonia and Salento. These are just limited to the underwear and not swimwear. There are even more in the swimwear collection. We will have more on those soon because there is not enough space in this post to cover it all!
Most of the styles have a tank, boxer (boxer brief), and brief. I will say that I wish they had the thong and jock included in all the prints! I think they would go over well!
Choco Print
The Choco print is a tropical print featuring leaves on a white background. This one is just available in the tank and boxer.
Dandy Print
Dandy is a more subtle print. It has a light blue or mint background. Each one has an anchor on them. The tank has a bit more graphic elements
Pride Print
JOR has a Pride print for a while. It’s a rainbow inspired design. It’s not the literal interpretation of the pride flag. The colors are a bit darker. All three have the saying “You Make Me Happy – Peace and Love”
Tatocoa Print
This is probably my favorite print. It’s a photo print with writing and graphics over the print. This line also has a jock and thong.
Parce Print
Is another photo print mixed with graphic elements. The photo is a city print. I really like the teal/light blue accent color on the pairs.
Amazonia Print
Looking for a bright waistband with a fun tropical print? This is for you. With flowers and a leopard on the pairs. Done in bright floral colors.
Salento Print
The Salento is a mix of stripes and a floral print. The yellow and blue stripes made a great background for the flower print.

JOR has always been a company we here at UNB have loved over the years. They create some of the brightest colors and best prints in underwear. We got a chance to ask them some new questions about the new line.
Can you tell us what was the inspiration for the first collection of 2017?
MADE IN COLOMBIA, is based on my Country Colombia. I want the people knows Colombia, its main touristic places, its industry, its people… COLOMBIA, a paradise of people, colors, and tastes, come and discover it! Additionally to the main theme “MADE IN COLOMBIA”, JOR proposes for this summer it’s OLD NAVY, colors such as Navy and Red, or a new interpretation of the concept, with Pastel Colors like Mint or Light blue.
In what ways did Columbia inspire the new line? Did it go beyond the prints to the actual styling?
We used pictures of the Historic city (Cartagena), beautiful beaches (San Andres), wild deserts (Tatacoa Desert), tropical jungles (Amazonia and Choco), coffee area (Salento) and innovative and industrial city (Medellin), which are part of the diversity of my country.
You are known for doing some amazing prints (geometric and photos), where do you find/create the great prints?
Every collection, my design team and me, propose a topic, and we developed the prints, or we customize prints that are made, giving them the identity of the collection and our brand.
Tanks are a big part of the prints you do, why are they important to your collection?
Tanks are the complement for underwear or our Activewear line. They allow us to show the prints in a broader way.
Are prints more popular in underwear or Swimwear? or are they equal?
In JOR, usually we developed the theme of the collection for both lines, Underwear, and Swimwear, but the sale of Swimwear is more limited in the Fall-Winter season, so, you will find a little more of printed references on our Underwear.
There are quite a few swim thongs in the new collection. Do you think that the swim thong is on the rise in Columbia and the USA?
Swim thong is a new style proposed in JOR for the international market, USA and Europe mainly. Colombia is more conservative country. We felt that international market needed a brand that offers this kind of swimwear for the summer season. We love the different!
The new collection also has more bikinis (both in swimwear and underwear), why did you include a smaller brief cut in this collection?
Smaller cuts are well received by our customers. A sexy and comfortable touch!
For those who want more shorts, you make Arrecife Beachwear. Can you tell us why you created the line and what it consists of?
Arrecife is the beginning of our beach line. At the moment we offer shorts, tanks & t-shirts, and caps, but, we hope to offer other products like towels, bags, and why not, sandals.
Color plays a big part in Underwear, JOR has always produced some great colors (from pastels to primary colors). How do you choose what colors you will use each season?
Our proposal is always the match of colors, that vibrate with each other, for to transmit its energy to those who wear our garments. JOR proposes a new interpretation of traditional concepts, playing with colors and taking risks with that… JOR, THE POP BRAND FOR COLOR LOVERS!
JOR has entered workout wear with the leggings, shorts and more, What has been the JOR’s fan reaction to the line?
Proper matching is part of creating differentiating looks. JOR gives to our fans, several options to create fun and comfortable outfits for their workout moments! The fashion and Color are now present in the gym!
What makes JOR different from other brands on the market?
Definitely, the Color and the Prints are our labels as a brand. JOR has Fun and Colorful Designs for our customers.
When someone who’s never bought JOR, what advice would you give them?
I advise them to take risks and get out of the traditional. They can start by wearing garments that have small touches of color. Today we decided to celebrate Spandex! Some of you may love it, while others may not. Even more may try some fun gear! The picture above features JOR workout wear from our Holiday Guide. It is model Damien and photo by Taylor Campbell. We have two great posts featuring some fun gear for you today!

The name of this swim brief collection tells you what you need to do in it. That is to go catch some rays in the JOR Sunny Swim Brief. It’s available in 3 solid colors and 2 patterns. The first pattern brief is called pink, which reminds me of a Native American pattern. The base color of this pattern swim brief is white with pink, purple, orange, light blue, and black creating the Native American design. The other pattern option is called yellow. It’s on a yellow background with several white rings outlined in black interlocking with each other. It’s best to see the visual of these patterns. The solid colors are fuchsia, green, and white. My favorite in the collection is the pattern one called pink. It is a bit fun over just a solid color without being too bold.
I’d put this in the bikini swim brief category with its lean cut and narrow sides. It’s also a low rise cut brief. All those aspects making it an excellent swim brief for great tanning exposure. The bikini does have a full back, so a little limiting on the rear sunning. It’s made out of microfiber fabric that is quick drying and resilient. Both of those pluses for swimwear. The microfabric content is a blend of 84% nylon and 16% polyester. The brief is handmade in Colombia, South America with USA and Colombian fabrics.
These are available in sizes small to extra large. These have a tag on the left hip that has the JOR name and star on it. It’s always nice to find some swim bikinis that have some subtle patterns in the collection. That is something which always draws me to a collection. What do you think about the Sunny collection? The UNB Holiday Guide is out. We had a series of delays this year, so we were unable to release on Black Friday. With all that went wrong, we had a lot of fun shooting the guide. We shot it in the North Georiga Mountains. Which was an amazing location, however, we had wildfires a few miles away. This limited us to shoot indoors. Like a sporty look with your swimwear? The JOR sport swim thong (0355) may be just what you are looking for. I’m a fan of the sporty looking swimsuits (underwear too). I especially like the ones that feature the race stripes on the hips. I think this is due to me being a fan of the brand Adidas. These thongs feature two stripes on each hip. It also has accent colored piping and waistband to help round out the sport look.
This JOR sport thong is a bit different than most swim thongs I’ve seen. The front of these will give the impression you are wearing a swim brief. Then to everyone’s surprise when you turn around they’ll be seeing some cheeks. The back of this thong gives a look between a cheekie and a thong. You get the top half of your behind covered and then the rest exposed. The back and pouch is joined by a string, so not much fabric between the cheeks.
This thong has a drawstring that ties on the outside adding to the sports look. These are available in 4 colors. The colors black, blue, and gray feature white for the waistband, piping, stripes, and drawstring. The color white highlights those features with black. The thongs are made out of a microfiber fabric that consists of 84% nylon and 16% polyester. They’re available in size small to extra large. These do have a brand tag on the left hip with the JOR star and name.
I think the JOR sport swim thong would be a great choice for those that want to test out the thong waters. This would be a great thong for transitioning into the world of swim thongs with the swim brief looking front and a little extra rear coverage. For those who already made the transition then this might be a good conservative pair to have on hand. Either way this thong is a unique one that you may want to consider.

We introduced this bikini a little while back, but thought it was worth another shout out. What do you think of when you hear the underwear brand JOR? What comes to my mind with the brand JOR is their wide elastic waistbands with their name on it. That type of waistband is a turnoff for me when it comes to bikini or thong underwear. So I am excited that JOR has introduced a bikini in their line up that is to my liking. For those of you that are like me, you’ll want to check out JOR’s new bikini underwear called Tayrona (0314). It’s what I consider a true bikini.
This bikini is a low rise style with full frontal coverage and contoured pouch that supports and defines. The backside does show off a little of the cheeks. Always a great feature for a bikini. It’s made out of a super soft, stretch microfiber fabric that is 96% polyester and 4% spandex. They say it is soft and resilient and retains shape and color through wash and wear. The bikinis are handmade in Colombia of USA and Colombian fabrics.
I’m also not one that likes to advertise the brand I am wearing, so I like how JOR does the branding on these bikinis. They have a small tag with the JOR star and name, which is nice and subtle. You have the choice of three colors: Candy (pink), Orange, or White. All three colors have accent stitching that runs the outside edge of the bikini. I think it adds a bit of character to them. They’re available in sizes small to extra large.
If you like low rise underwear and want a lean cut with a sexy edge then check out the JOR 0314 Tayrona bikini. It’s the first true bikini underwear I’ve seen introduced from JOR. Let’s make this a popular pair for JOR, so they introduce more of this style without the thick elastic waistband.

Welcome to Ipanema Baby! Jor has added swim thongs to their line up. Let me introduce you to the Ipanema swim thong (0354) from JOR. If you are a swim thong fan or thinking about trying one out? Then take a look at the Ipanema swim thong. These are a pretty standard swim thong that would be great for anywhere it is acceptable to wear thongs. It actually might have a little more coverage than a traditional thong. Could be a great thong to break into the beach scene for the first time.
Like I mentioned this thong is along the lines of a traditional cut. With them being a low rise cut and slightly wider sides, it gives the impression of more back coverage than I typically vision a thong having. These offer full frontal coverage with a center seamed front pouch. They say it is an ergonomically shaped pouch that provides extra comfort thanks to the anatomical fit.
These thongs are made from a resilient microfiber fabric that is quick drying and super sleek. It’s a composition of 84% nylon and 16% polyester. They’ll be available in three colors: black, green, and orange. You have the sizes options from small to extra large. The thongs are brand with a tag on the left hip that has the JOR star and name on it.
This is a nice looking basic swim thong with good solid color options to start off with. Maybe they’ll expand upon them if they become a good seller. Right now only the colors black and green are available. Orange is coming soon, so keep watch if you want that color. It’s great seeing a brand like JOR adding swim thongs to their line. Hopefully, it means they are becoming more popular amongst us guys.
