“The Portside Collection” is four uniquely and dynamically designed swimwear identities, each one inspired by a famous ship. Whether it’s the Santa Maria’s spirit of adventure found in its vibrant colorful curves, The Victoria’s worldly aesthetic found in diverse color blocking with an international flair, The Mayflower’s bold daring found in its striking color stripe that’s a guaranteed head-turner, or The Eclipse’s relaxed, fun enthusiasm found in the playful and flattering colorful patterns.

aussieBum Elite Swim Brif CollectionIt’s pretty much the end of summer here, but that doesn’t mean it is time to pack the swim briefs away. There is always the option of swimming laps at the gym or local indoor pool. If you are a swimmer or an aussieBum lover check out this new swim brief range. Could be a great one to add to your collection to get you through until next summer and beach season.

The Elite line was created with the pro-swimmer in mind. The suits are made out of a chlorine resistant 53% polyester and 47% polybutylene blend. aussieBum says, “This high performance fabric lasts 60x longer than traditional nylon lycra, making it the choice of the Australian Swim Team.” Now you don’t have to be a pro to wear them. They’re just made of good quality material.

This is a moderate cut swim brief along the lines of their 2.5 style cuts. I’d call them a low-rise brief and they do have a drawstring to help keep them snug. The Elite collection is available in three basic colors: red, azure (blue), and black. They feature the aussieBum logo embroidered in white on the left hip. Like you should do with any swimsuit you are to cold rinse after use. Then they can be cold washed and should be line dried in shade without delay. As is all aussieBum items, these are made in Australia and your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Who doesn’t need a good swimsuit that can take the beating of chlorine? What is even better is these are a great price at just under $30. Stop the jammer fad and pull this swim brief out of your bag at your next workout or competition in the pool. Feel like a pro with one of these Elite swim briefs from aussieBum.

2EROS has released another swim line! This time, it’s their Icon line. Which features their iconic logo on the back! The line has been around for a few years, this is the latest update. The logo on the back is meant to enhance your assets. Unlike previous collections this one has just white and black.

Here is what 2EROS said about the pair:

The V10 Icon, a daring low-rise and high back cut fit to celebrate the male form. It is designed to accentuate every asset and the use of timeless colours combined with foiled embellishments is a stance that will stand the test of time. Distinct, unforgettable and timeless without moving away from the 2EROS style.

The logo in the back is a foil print. The black has a silver and the white has a gold. It’s a really cool and interesting twist on the swimwear. 2EROS always does things that are new and innovative. We expect to see a lot more from them this year. Not only more swimwear but some amazing underwear!

Good ByeThis is the unofficial end of summer in the States. Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer for most people. It’s one last trip to the beach before we start getting ready for fall and the holiday season. That means the end of swimwear for most people. If you’re lucky to be in Hawaii, South Florida or Southern Hemisphere. You can still rock on the swimwear.

The reason we did Swimwear Sunday was to get more of you guys to try swim briefs. We here at UNB love them. I have been wearing them since my teens. I never wore them out anywhere until my 20’s. To me wearing one is just freeing. Wearing board shorts and such is too much fabric. It restricts your movement in the water and takes forever to dry. Swim briefs are the opposite in every way.

In something ironic, this was the first summer I didn’t wear a swim brief. I actually didn’t have any pool, lake or ocean time this year. Last year I had a few times. So, here I am preaching swim briefs and didn’t even wear one this year. However, I have quite a few I need to wear.

We will continue with Swimwear Sunday starting back in early May 2017. The feature has been one I loved doing. It was the first regular swimwear profile we did on UNB. We got some great feedback from readers about it. Exposing guys to amazing swimwear like we do underwear! I think next year we are going to add in you guys more. We want to see you in your swim briefs on the beach/lake/pool. Also, we want you guys to share your favorite pairs as well. What pairs do you want for summer? What will you be wearing over the summer?

We hope you enjoyed the swimwear and will bring you more. Don’t worry, we won’t be ending all swimwear posts. There are going to be plenty released between now and next May. As new pairs come out, we will keep you guys posted on what’s new, hot, and fun.

2eros is adding the luxurious Cuban white and gold choice to the V32 swimsuit. This resort ready pair features a sleek, crisp white background that really pops in or out of the water. Contrasted against tan skin you’d be the hit of the beach in this number.

The front lined pair also features a stylish gold chain print that adds an elegant touch without overbearing the look. It really does look like it belongs on a private beach or lounging by the resort pool. The fun, white and gold balance will be catching many rays and many eyes.

And once those eyes are caught they will no doubt be admiring the fit. The Brazilian cut pair is meant to hug every bit of your bits while enhancing shape and form for wearer and viewers’ delight. The snug fit extends to the legs as well, hugging but not squeezing.

So lounge back, relax and be the talk of the beach in the new V32 Cuban white and gold swimsuit. This pair is available for AU$64.95 or roughly $49 US and in sizes from Extra Small to Large.

2EROS makes some awesome swimwear. Each year they create amazing prints and use great colors. The latest addition is the Birds of Paradise. It joins the ranks of the Bombay and Bloom lines they released last year. 2EROS swimwear just evokes fun. They have their own unique style and it shows in this pair.

2EROS says this about the pair:

Fly into summer with Birds of Paradise. The V10 Birds of paradise is designed as a low-rise fit that flourishes your assets. Inspired by the contrast of clear turquoise skies and seas with the vibrant and vivid colours of the Strelitzia flower and hummingbirds which are also iconic symbols of freedom, joy and of course paradise itself.

I love the way that 2EROS mixes their logo into the design. It always seems to work without seeming to be too much. This one has the 2EROS Logo mixed the birds. The colors also make it perfect for the beach. It will catch people’s eyes on the beach. Find this and more at the 2EROS site.

The Olympics have gone into the history books. Michael Phelps is in the record books again and said he has retired from the sport. Usain Bolt proved he’s the fastest man on earth and has retired. Ryan Lotche…well we’ll just leave that right there. But one Olympian stands out to me, well for the purpose of being the spokesperson of an Underwear/Swimwear brand. That athlete is Tom Daley

I watched him dive in the preliminaries of the men’s 10 Meter. He was kicking butt. It was sure he was going to get the gold. He was blowing everyone out of the water. Then.. things didn’t go so well in the semi-finals. He got knocked out of the finals. He had an off day and nothing was meshing. We all have those sort of days, but for an Olympic Athlete, those days are much worse. He’ll have to wait four years till the next Olympics in Tokyo to go for gold. I think he’s one of the best divers in the sport.

Why do I pick Tom Daley to be the new face of an underwear/Swimwear brand? First, he has the look. Being a diver he has the body to model any style of underwear. Dare I say from trunks to thongs. And everything in between. Next, he’s had experience in front of the camera. He does a calendar each year and is familiar with shoots and how to look great in front of the camera. Lastly, we’ve seen him in small Adidas swim briefs on TV. This means he isn’t afraid to be seen in skimpy gear.

On top of those things, Tom can be articulate. He can speak in front of a camera and not come off as a “jock.” Meaning that he can talk more than just about his sport. His videos on his YouTube channel are awesome. He has a great personality and is a natural in front of the camera.

Brands that I think he would be great for a few brands. Classic brands the one that comes to mind is CK. CK is no stranger to having athletes in their ads. Possibly, 2(X)ist, although I don’t remember them ever having a celebrity spokesperson. As for other brands: HOM, Olaf Benz, Bruno Banani, Timoteo, and the list goes on and on. But the question is would he do it?

I know there are many of you out there who think the same. Tom won our poll about which Diver should be an underwear spokesperson. In fact, he won by a large margin. Which other Summer Games athlete would you like to see an underwear company work with? Post in the comments or let us know on social!

MARCUSE Dragon whiteMarcuse sent us their Aussie Spring/Summer collection. You may be going…”Wait, we are going into fall and winter” but no in Austraila. They always take the most amazing pictures of the collection. This year is no different. Every time I see images from Marcuse it makes me long for a beach trip. Especially, the beaches we see in the shoot. They are always deserted and looks like paradise. Who wouldn’t love a week at the beach? Just wearing swim briefs all week, no one around. No cell phones or technology? Or is that just my dream?

“We have just launched our new campaign for the Aussie Spring/Summer Collection, this time, we have photographer Russell Fleming shot our official campaign featuring model Kurt Hanger @kurt_hanger from Gold Coast Australia” has told us about this shoot.

10 popular songs for your

My family recently trekked across the Pacific Ocean (not really—we actually flew) to move to our new home—HAWAII!!! We have really enjoyed eating local food, attending luaus, and attempting to hit as many beaches as possible. We are really having a blast. The only downside is that I went without an address for so long that I have not been able to get very many new pairs of briefs and bikinis to add to my collection. I now have an address and will commence the receiving of the world’s finest underwear!

Hawaii is an interesting place. The local culture is warm and inviting and the central focus is on the ocean. Ocean life is something to explore on a daily basis. Granted, there are a few mainland amenities that are intriguing as well. For instance, the water park looks like most water parks you’d see around the world. There is one distinct difference—people wear THONGS to go down slides and swim in the wave pull. This is a small minority, but seems to be accepted by everyone. Occasionally, you will get a really traditional male pacific islander that wears something super skimpy. Kind of blows away the idea that men’s fashion swimwear is unacceptable except on gay beaches.

One culture that I frequently give into. But need to branch out of my comfort zone to what I’m more comfortable wearing is the BOARDSHORT culture. BOARDSHORTS are everywhere. I wear them every time I go to the beach and fit right in with the rest of the male beachgoers. There are several problems with BOARDSHORTS:

  1. BOARDSHORTS have no liner. This simply causes everything to hang free and loose. Leaves nothing to the imagination when you get out of the water.
  2. There is way too much material to be able to swim through the ocean unencumbered. I find the excessive material often causes chafing as well. Once you start walking around because they take forever to dry.
  3. BOARDSHORTS prevent good even tanning from taking place. Because ¾ of your legs are covered by bulky material. Looks funny when you wear shorter shorts out to dinner or shopping at the mall.

Because I am an introvert and try to fit in everywhere I go. I give into the uncomfortable trend of wearing BOARDSHORTS. To combat problem #1, I always wear a swim brief so the boys fell support. I call this the BOARSHORT—BIKINI CULTURE. Every time I go to the beach, I want to take the BOARDSHORTS off to be able to swim faster, get my legs tanned, and prevent chaffing. I never do.

I know that we have written several pieces over the summer that deal with this subject. I really just wanted to get my thoughts out there to see if any of you are experiencing the same types of feelings. I seriously live in a tropical paradise that accepts people for who they are not what they wear. The only person who truly cares about what I’m seen is. . .ME! What do you say? Let’s be trendy and fashionable. More importantly, let’s be ourselves! Goodbye BOARDSHORT—BIKINI CULTURE. Hello ME!

Pros: Perfect fit, fun design, conservative cut but edgy style

Cons: Material

UndiesRock recommendation: If you’re looking for swimmers with a conservative cut. But like edgier, youthful designs then this is all you!  I can’t stress how much I love these swimmers, and I know you will. By far my favorite swim brief of 2016, hope you enjoy my review as much as I dig these spot on swimmers

Hey fellow underwear fans. It’s UndiesRock reviewing another unsurprisingly awesome pair of N2N swim briefs.  As we start to hit the brakes on summertime. It’s important to have a great pair of transition swimwear to help cruise into the cooler months. These MB3 Milan Sport Swim briefs by N2N are the way to go!  First off, let’s take some time to applaud N2N. They debuted some of the coolest and innovative swimwear designs we’ve seen all year.  I mean, these Milan swimmers are just impeccable. Grom the sporty, tight, classic full-coverage fit, to the trendy color options and clean stripes. We have ourselves the ultimate sport swim brief.

Ok, we all know that comfort is the ultimate criteria for reaching swim brief nirvana. The comfort meter on these suckers is off the charts. The 83% nylon/17% spandex material allows for liberal stretch with sustainable form. I own a medium sized pair which is made for a 32-34″ waist and it definitely fits true to size. The fit is snug in all the right places but does not restrict or pinch any areas of the body. The fit on the butt is textbook; snug and tight, which doesn’t become baggy when wet. In my experience with other swim briefs, the leg openings tend to be quite tight with little give which then allows for the hem to dig into the skin. This Milan pair does not do this whatsoever!  This pair is equipped with an inner draw chord. Which provides the option to conceal the strings so they are not visible. But also allows for unlimited adjustability. Also, one thing that everyone should be aware of is that this swimwear is unlined. So be prepared for some transparency post swim. I personally don’t mind the single layer of material. It allows for almost underwear-like comfort. It can definitely be revealing if you are in public situations. Even though the pouch is single ply. It still retains the right amount of support for the package. but with a little extra freedom of movement.  And I cannot stress this enoug.  For sure your package will have a little more definition. Which is totally cool.

The design on the MB3 Milan Sport combines a classic cut with an edgy appeal. This swimwear is substantial so if you are looking for a pair that is full coverage. Then these are the ones to purchase.  But don’t be fooled by the conservative cut. Because these bad boys are far from mundane. They have so much character with the three-panel, tricolor, gradient, color-block design.  That is offered in blue, red, and green (the option I own). The sides of the swim brief are roughly 2.75″ in length providing a mid-rise waist. I cannot write this review without giving a shout-out to the seamless pouch design.  As you all know, I am a sucker for seamless fronts because of the clean/sharp aesthetic and added comfort points. So this pair definitely hits the spot in this department.  Although the front is seamless, I think it’s important to mention that there are horizontal seams where the colors transition.  At first I thought this might bother me. But honestly it didn’t faze me the slightest, but I could see how this could be bothersome to some dudes.  N2N can definitely level up with a fully seamless design, but I feel like I’m getting too nitpicky.  One aspect of this pair that was a little disappointing to me is that the material tends to wear down rather quickly after just a couple washes.  Here is an image to show you what I am talking about:

image001

As you can see the material tends to fray and get pulpy – I don’t know if this is an accurate adjective, but you get the point.

Those who have been following N2N throughout the years know that the brand has legacy cuts that are reissued with different patterns and material each season. But these N2N Milan swim briefs are brand new to the lineup.  For this being the first generation, N2N hit a grand slam with these swimmers and I hope these are here to stay!  Definitely a huge success of a style.  I applaud N2N for these tasteful and flattering simmers.  Right now you can catch these directly from the N2N site for $30 large.  At this price point this pair is a total steal and a no brainer purchase.  You definitely get a whole lot of swim brief for 30 bucks. Which is a small price to pay to turn heads at the beach. Especially when you can easily drop $100 for a decent pair of swim briefs in this day and age.  Personally, I haven’t had much of a summer due to my work life. My August is starting to free up.  You better believe that I will be out on my paddle board with my girl soaking up the sun and salt in these perfect M83 Milan swim briefs from N2N.

What's New In AussieBum Swimwear

aussieBum has quite a few additions to their swim briefs with some of them being limited edition. The collections to check out are Luxe, Hombre, Insignia, Xposeit, World Series, Gloss, and Vintage Stripe. These collections are for the most part just different fabric, pattern, and/or color options in current cuts they offer. But there is one new style that I’m excited about and that is the Xposeit collection, which is the one I’ll start.

Xposeit Collection

The name of the collection tells you a lot about this swim brief. This is the skimpiest cut of swim briefs that AussieBum offers. So it will be giving you greatest exposure of your skin to the sun and everyone else. It’s available in 3 colors: black, blue, and gold. The blue looks like it may be leaning towards a bit of a teal. It’s made from a blend of 80% nylon and 20% elastane fabric. Which should give you more of a traditional swim brief fit over the 100% nylon suits. Go get this swim brief and shrink those tan lines some.
XPOSEIT Options

Luxe Collection

The Luxe collection is their limited edition swimsuit with only 150 made per style. The fabric comes from France’s leading boutique fabric knitting company. It is made of a blend of 95% polyester and 5% elastane fabric. It’s available in seven color options. The first is Blue Angel, which reminds me of fish scales that are blue and white highlights. Then there is Coral Beauty that makes me think of an Indian pattern that is green, red, yellow, and tan. Next up is Flame Snapper, which is an interesting print. It’s stripes of yellow. Orange, pink, red, and black that also have a diamond pattern incorporated into it. Like lots of colors then the Rainbow Runner might be to your liking with it’s stripes of colors. Redfin is multiple shades of pink with kind of a beaded stripe and wavy stripe pattern. Then there is Stingray, which is white and looks like a random basketweave pattern. Lastly, there is Zebra Shark. It’s a black and white zig-zag striped typically called Chevron.
Luxe Options

Hombre Collection

The Hombre line is inspired by flames and hair. It’s available in two color options and it made of a blend of 90% polyester and 10% elastane fabric. The first color option is called Flame. It’s base color is black and then has yellow and reddish orange narrow hair like flame pattern on it. Your other option is called Ice. It also has a black base color with a turquoise hair pattern. I like the subtleness of the color pattern on this collection.
Hombre Options

Insignia Collection

Insignia Collection is available in two color options and is based on the chevron print. You can choose either Atlantic or Pacific.  They’re made out of a blend of 90% polyester and 10% elastane fabric . Atlantic has a white base color and navy and red zig zag. Pacific also has the white base color, but with blue and yellow zig zags. The color zig zags vary in widths, but they are all on the thin side compared to other chevron prints I’ve seen.
Insignia Options

World Series Collection

This collection is inspired by showing your country spirit especially for the Olympics. It’s a limited edition line, so grab your country’s pair before it is too late. They are made out of 100% nylon and represent five countries: Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, and USA. Australia features a green base color with yellow (gold) kangaroos. The base color of France brief is blue and it has red and white rooster. Germany’s main color is black with red and yellow (gold) griffins. Great Britain’s also features the griffins, but in red and blue on white. Red is the base color of the USA and it has white eagles along with blue eagles with white stars. The World Series collection would be a great way to show your country support at the pool or beach.
World Series Options

Gloss Collection

The AussieBum’s Gloss collection gives a classic swimwear brief a luxuriant wet-look. Made of an Italian fabric of 80% polyamide and 20% elastane blend. Available in three colors with white accent sides. Pick from Cherry, Diamond (white), or Noir (black). If you want to glisten in your swim brief then checkout this line.
Gloss Options

Vintage Stripe Collection

The last collection is the Vintage Stripe. Which is available in the classic style or with the wonderjock (gives that extra lift and support). Vintage Stripe briefs are made of 100% polyester. The wonderjock version comes in three color choices. Which all feature vertical stripes of the same width. You have the option of Brando (white and blue stripes), Dean (black and olive stripes), and Gable (white, blue, red, and light blue stripes).

Now the classic style is available in 6 new options and their stripes vary between pairs. First up is Flynn, which has equal width vertical stripes of blue, yellow, red, and light blue. The Hudson option has a base tan color with various widths of vertical stripes of brown, black, and blue. Next up is Valentino with has equal width vertical stripes of white, red, and blue. Wayne also has equal width vertical stripes that are white, yellow, and aqua. The Welles brief is the only one that isn’t vertical stripes. It features thin diagonal stripes of silver on a black base color. To round out the classic style, the last option is Chaplin. It features wide navy stripes (base color) with white and red vertical stripe accents.
Vintage Stripe Options

Now that is a lot of new options for us all to try out. What one(s) have caught your eye? Comment and let us know. I’m personally leaning towards getting Xposeit in the blue. Also like the looks of Luxe Blue Angel, Hombre Flame, Hombre Ice, and Vintage Stripe Chaplin.

SHOW YOURThe Olympics are here and in full swing now. How are you supporting your country during the Olympics? Here at UNB we of course like the idea of supporting our country with our underwear. Nothing better than showing your support with the first layer you put on for the day. An even better way to show off your country spirit is breaking out the swimwear that represents it at the beach or pool. Everyone will know who you support for sure that way.

Unfortunately, I’m unprepared for sporting my country flag on my underwear or swimwear. I’ll be going the color route. I use to have a pair of bikinis from Kiniki’s called Stateside. They would have been an excellent choice to support the USA. Since I did not prepare with flag underwear or swimwear for the Olympics. I decided I should go out and explore the options. I’ve put together two boards one for underwear and the other for swimwear. Both will feature choices to show your country spirit. I’m a bikini, thong, and swim brief fan, so that is what you’ll find listed. I’ll continue adding as I come across more.

For swimwear, I’ve come across pairs from CA-RIO-CA, Emporio Armani, Turbo, Dolfin, Splish, TYR, and Arena. The countries represented are Australia, Brazil, Cuba, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, UK, and USA. Check them out the swimwear Pinterest Boards.

Ok, finding bikini and thong flag underwear was more of a challenge than I expected. I found a few on Aliexpress. Also came across a couple pairs on Deadgoodundies. So far only had luck for bikini and thongs for USA and UK fans. Will keep working on finding more and adding to the board. Keep an eye on all the patriotic options on Pinterest.

Either it be underwear/swimwear featuring your country’s flag or just your country’s colors. Make sure you support your country and athletes.
