Men’s Underwear

Halloween is about putting on a costume and being someone else. It’s one night where you can be the opposite of what you are, so if you’re shy you can put on something super hot and have a fun night. One brand that makes amazing costumes is Candyman! They have always new takes on traditional costumes. Here are the top three I think you guys will love.

Candyman Police

Have you always wanted to protect and serve? Candyman has the super hot cop costume. This is one you could wear out or to the bedroom. You may be going, “Who would wear that out?” We have plenty of readers who would wear it and wear it proud. It comes with everything you see!

Pair: Candyman Police Outfit
Color: Black
Fabric: 91% polyester, 9% elastane
Sizes: Small – X-Large
Price: $43.43

Candyman Fire Fighter

They also have a firefighter costume. This one though mixes the masc and fem. The brief is made out of a lace material. Some would question it, but I say just go have fun with it! I’m really not sure you could get away wearing this out in public. A private party yes but I think the pouch is too see through. Like the police uniform, you get what you see here!

Pair: Candyman Firefighter costume
Color: Black
Fabric:84% Polyamide 16% Spandex
Sizes: Small – X-Large
Price: $41.23

Candyman Bull Fighter

The Bull Fighter is my favorite of the Candyman. First I think the lace and mesh are perfect for this costume. The Bull Fighter outfits are ornate and super tight. This captures it and makes it super fun. The pouch on this costume is not mesh but the rest of the pair is either mesh or lace.  Just think of it as a super sexy bull fighter! Again you get the boxer brief and everything you see.

Pair: Candyman Bull Fighter Costume
Color: As seen
Fabric:89% Nylon 11% Spandex
Sizes: Small – X-Large
Price: $45.63

I love singlets and wanted to try something new. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and get the Combat Singlet that is in Army camo and is assless. I’m not one for cut outs in singlet but I wanted a camo singlet. So, I figured why not try it!

Being 6’4” I have had issues with gear fitting. So it’s often that I get a piece of gear and it’s way too tight or doesn’t fit one way or another. When I got the singlet from Gruff Pup, I was hopeful since a lot of the guys were beefier, that this wouldn’t be an issue.

I put on the Combat Singlet and immediately knew that the singlet wasn’t made for the tall guys. The straps were super tight around my shoulders and I hoped that it would work itself out. However, the fabric was less spandex than I thought. The next issue is it was super tight in the thighs, I don’t have I think huge legs but it was really tight.

I was disappointed that I couldn’t fit. If you’re average height and a little beefy I don’t think you will have issues with the singlet. If you’re like me and taller and beefier, then you may not get this one. I think this pair is super hot with the camo and orange trim.

This isn’t a slam at Gruff Pup and their gear. It’s not easy to make gear for all guys of all sizes. If you’re taller than most look for singlets that have a lot more spandex than nylon! I think the singlets at Gruff Pup are super hot and think you guys should check them out!

  • Daily Performance: 6/10

Pros:

  • Low slung bikini design

  • It has a limited color pallet available…
  • Pouch is a bit oversized in my opinion

UNB Ryan’s recommendation:I am usually hesitant to try out a new style of underwear, but writing for the UNB blog has challenged me to change that.  I will always love thongs, and will not likely convert to bikinis or jocks but am at least willing to give them a try or put one in my rotation from time to time. I thoroughly enjoyed wearing this underwear in preparation for the review, and my wife even complimented me on them!  A new cut can be fun every now and then, and this color is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face!

This was my first experience with Kyle underwear, and I can’t wait to try another pair!  Today I am reviewing the Kyle KLI014 Bikini in Green provided by Skiviez.  This suit is a well-constructed bikini, and it was a welcome change from my normal thong underwear.  The only thing I wasn’t in love with was the pouch, which I found myself constantly adjusting due to it being much roomier than I am accustomed to.  I simply prefer the bulge pouches because they tend to hold everything in place for me with minimal adjustments needed. The fabric of this bikini was comfortable, stretchy, and felt really nice against my skin. I definitely recommend that you give Kyle underwear a try.  They offer a wide range of underwear, and anyone should be able to find a style and color combination that suits them.

I have only worn this pair of underwear one time, on a day-long outing with my wife.  We were in and out of stores while running errands and I was pleased with how they felt wearing all day long.  This pair features a simple flat front pouch with plenty of room for most guys.  The striking green color featured in this pair is my favorite feature.  I’m usually a fan of the brighter colors, but this one is just different!  Maybe it’s because I don’t have anything else in green, but I am in love with the color, and my wife likes it too!  This pair features a traditional bikini cut and bottom.  I’m sure you could wear this pair around anyone without any question or discerning looks.  There is a small mesh panel insert on the front, but nothing too extreme, and it is in the same green as the rest of the pair, so it blends in nicely.  The only other design feature to point out is the small logo on the rear.

The construction of this bikini is on par with most industry standards for men’s underwear.  They feature a small dart pouch to help align everything and a full bottom that frames your cheeks quite well.  I have to admit, I actually liked wearing the more conservatively cut bikini for a change (I know right!) The strong lines of the bikini paired with the exceptional color helped to keep my attention the whole time I had them on.

Kyle Underwear has proven to be a very well constructed pair of bikini briefs in my opinion.  The stitching is strong, yet unnoticeable while wearing, the elastic keeps the lines in place while hugging your curves, and the accents are stylish but very minimalist.  I think that these bikini underwear could be worn under anything, in about any situation, and would perform flawlessly.  These are also styled fairly conservatively but would surely be enticing once your partner sees you in them!

I’m not familiar with Kyle underwear and this was the first pair I have ever tried on.  I received a medium, which is a size up from my normal small.  Based on what I can only guess, the medium seems like they fit like a typical medium.  If I were to buy a pair on my own, it would definitely be in a size small.  I liked the way this pair fit with the exception of the pouch, which for me didn’t fit snugly enough to keep everything in place.

In conclusion, I have been pleasantly surprised with this pair and will look more into Kyle Underwear and their underwear line.  More color offerings and different pouch styles would definitely drive me to try out a few different styles from this manufacturer. They are also offering tremendous savings on most of their styles. You should be able to pick up these for a price comparable to most department store offerings.  Give Kyle Underwear a try and let us know in the comments below what you think.  You can also send me a message or question directly on Instagram or Twitter @unb_ryan. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

If you’re new to the world of underwear and start surfing around sites. You’re bound to see the style “tanga” on sites. You may be asking “What the hell is a tanga?” In the US it’s not a term we use for underwear. However, it is becoming more and more common. I”m sure you have seen one but didn’t know it was a tanga.

A Tanga is a pair of underwear that has a fabric in the front and back, which is connected by strings or elastic. You could call it a string bikini. The key is that there is no fabric on the sides. The string can be a small string or an elastic waistband. The styles are usually skimpy and not large. So basically for a lack of better term, it’s a string bikini.

There are a ton of guys who’s favorite style is the tanga. One big reason is the, outside the fit is, the range of motion you get from the style. It’s perfect for an active guy. The high cut sides will let you stretch or move for working out and yoga. It’s a different option for guys.

Here are some examples of a Tanga:

Olaf Benz Rio Tanga – from Dead Good Undies

Ergowear Max Modal Bikini – Candyman Fashion

Doreanse Lace Brazil Slip – Dead Good Undies

Modus Vivendi Desert Tanga – Modus Vivendi

As you can see there are a ton of tanga’s with different sized waistbands, fabrics, and colors. I hope this clears some confusion up for you guys!

UNB brought the Ergowear Max Modal Bikini. It was not furnished as part of a review. All opinions of the review are my own and not influenced by any brand.

Rating: 9/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling:9/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Amazing bright colors in the pink and yellow
  • Has an anatomical pouch that will give you all the support you need
  • High cut sides will give you a great range of motion

Cons:

  • Some may not like the bright colors, never fear they come in more traditional colors
  • The cut maybe skimpy to some , they have trunks in the line as well.

UNB Tim recommendation: If you work out or just love amazing pouches this pair is for you. The modal makes it breathable and wicks moisture. The bright colors are super fun to me and you will love wearing it all day long. Check it out!

I love the Ergowear bikinis. Granted they aren’t the official definition of a bikini but more of a tanga. They fit great and give you a wide range of motion. On top of that the Max pouch is one of the best on the market (that’s just my expert opinion). So I was excited to try the new color. The pink was sold out so I got the lemon pair.

My life has been crazy with work, UNB and a few other things. So underwear really has been key to my day. I have a few old pairs that have lost the elastic and drive me crazy so I decided to buy some favorites and review them and replace what wasn’t working. Ergowear is a brand that knows how to make underwear. No matter what I did in this pair it felt great. Being a bigger guy I get a bit self conscious in bikinis. But more and more lately I’m saying fuck it and just wearing it. I love this cut and I feel great wearing it so, I bought it. I really liked the fit.

Ergowear is on top of it with fabric and construction. The fabric is Modal: 90% Viscose, 10% Spandex. It felt great through the day but after wearing the Max Mesh Jock a week earlier I wanted the pouch a bit tighter. The Max Mesh collection pouch is “prefect”. I think this one wasn’t as tight due to the modal material. If I had worn this one before the Max Mesh I don’t think I would have noticed it.

Sizing is rarely an issue. I need to double check but they used to have an amazing size chart that when you gave your size it told you buy what ever size and if you were on the upper end of the size chart it would recommend going up a size. These fit very well and I will def wear them again and again.

I love Ergowear and they can do no wrong in undies. If you love great fabrics and amazing pouches you have to look no further than this brand. They have pouches in all pairs from boxer briefs to thongs. You will not be disappointed at all!

PAIR: Ergowear Max Modal Bikini

Cocksox has a new collection out called the Norse Collection. What is the Norse collection? “Legendary. Powerful. Epic. Tales of the Norse Gods inspire this masculine underwear collection in strong, natural colours with striking contrast binds and the unique Norse waistband design. Let these epic form fitting Cocksox designs bring out the god in you!”

This collection is made from my favorite material, Modal! It’s really the best fabric for underwear. It’s super soft, breathes with you throughout the day and just feels amazing against your skin. They used Modal in the Backstage and it was one of my favorite lines. I can’t wait to try this new line!

This is how Cocksox describes the new line:

The Norse Waistband design is a powerful blend of ancient Viking style and contemporary graphics – legendary meets modern. The Norse Collection is available in three colour ways – Woad, Madder and Weld – in six styles from thongs to Long Johns, so there’s something for whatever god you are today – yoga guru, workout king or love god! Honour the gods today at Cocksox.com

It is available in the Sports Brief, Trunk, Classic Bikini, and more. The colors are Weld (green/blue), Madder (red/yellow) and Woad (Yellow/blue). These aren’t super bright colors, which are my personal favorite. However, I think they definitely work and are something a little different in men’s underwear.
Cocksox always comes up with new and different fabrics and colors for underwear. They aren’t afraid to take a risk, which makes underwear even more fun for them and us wearing them. If you work out this is a great pair or you just want to feel super comfy then check out the new Norse collection from Cocksox.

The Jock line is the crown of this fall-winter collection, presenting a lavish world from the eyes of a peasant. The love for luxury and the love for comfort merging to create a rich streetwear style. The tension between two different worlds the aristocrat and the hunter coexist in the Jock line. Comfortable and rich the Jock line will shift the balance of powers to your favor.

The Jock line comprises of Bottomless, Brief, Boxer, Sweat Pants, Tanktop, Shirt, Passpartout Pants, Pants & Hoodie.

The Modus Vivendi Jock line offers a classic style in an intense design. Tasteful, ultra masculine and inspiring; The Jock line elevates the color blogging style to an enriched artistic level and you can find it in grey/ khaki color or in a black /blue color. Made of soft perforated velvet fabric this line is ideal for sophisticated sports people or streetwear fashionistas.

I am a HUGE fan of singlets! I have loved them since I was in my teens. Now I have quite a collection. There is a new one on the market that I had to do a double take. 4 Hunks, well known for their super fun and sexy fetish gear released the Dirty Cyclist. Which I think is a nod to the cycling skin suits and gear!

The first thing you notice is the colors. The bright blue and yellow just pop! It gives me a sexy Wolverine vibe from X-Men. The design of the pair is very classic. The legs go down to mid-thigh and has a more tank top like top. However, 4 Hunks did a really fun thing with the pattern of the singlet. It’s definitely there to compliment a guys body.

One thing that makes this a fetish pair, the front. There is an opening in the front for easy access. You heard me right, 4 Hunks designs things for fun! On top of that, the singlet is made with a super tight design. It’s made to be tighter than other singlets. It’s one I definitely want to try. It’s quickly come on top of my wish list.

If you love this pair as much as I do check it out at 4 Hunks. Oh there are only 500 of these!

Pair: 4Hunks Dirty Cyclist
Color: Blue/Yellow
Fabric: TBA
Sizes: Small – X-Large (They use American sizing)
Price: 80 Euros.

There’s this thing about colour in the underwear business. Bit of a Marmite thing with male undercrackers too. You love colour or loathe it. Men who wear black undies wear only black undies. Ditto white. But the appetite for true colour is deep and never quite satisfied. Sometimes a different colourway transforms the appeal of male briefs or boxers, some shapes just work better in colour and occasionally a colour is so irresistible even the Only Boys stray from monochrome. Deadgoodundies.com, leading purveyors of pants in the UK, reveal their latest colour drops this week. The best ones are in and gone in days – sometimes hours – they tell us…

This Chilean brand’s X3D designs have a lot going for them in terms of fabric, shape, oomph… Now three new colours join the line-up for their ergonomic undies – Sunset (pictured), Night navy and Fog, a warm grey.

Ergowear X3D Suave Bikini Brief £23.00

FEEL from Ergowear comes in a dozen colours, but stock dwindles fast. Their newest trio of shades for the fab enhancing male slip are Dusk (pictured), deepest Night blue and Fog.

Ergowear FEEL Suave Bikini Brief £23.00

Sporty men’s underwear looks so much more dynamic in the right colours – check out Ergowear’s new Cooling blue and Boiling red on this athletic slip. The Mesh designs also include a Midcut short, Boxer Brief and Thong.

Ergowear Max Mesh Bikini Brief £20.00

Top of the range in the sultry M800 line is this fascinating two-in-one combo. Take a closer look – and fall in love because you get a boxer brief and string that work solo or together. Great in plain black or white, but in zebra…

Manstore M800 Ero Pants £57.00

Modus Vivendi know how to do indulgence, opulence and elegance – all in a single pair of Greek Lux men’s underwear in sleekest black with a gold waistband or cobalt blue topped with silver. Colour choice is a matter of personal preference, the effect is dramatic either way.

Modus Vivendi Greek Lux Tanga Brief £29.00

That’s not a misprint. This cheeky men’s underwear micro slip really is a tenner. You might not think of Doreanse for enhancing undies but they do a few (and well) – this one comes in purple, black or fuchsia. And if you love colour this is a go-to collection for constant colourful updates.

Doreanse 1377 Bulge Brief £10.00

One brand that really impresses me is Walden Athletic. They are taking sustainability to a new level. If you’re very eco-aware, this is a brand you need to check out.

Here is a brief overview of the brand:

Each year humans discard over 8 million tons of plastic into the ocean.  The damage wrought on marine life is vast and varied, killing species at all levels of the food chain due to starvation, suffocation, poisoning, and entanglement in debris.  Because ecosystems are interconnected, this affects not only wildlife, but also vulnerable human communities.  The destruction is unsustainable and it’s time we put a stop to it.

At Walden Outdoor Athletic, we manufacture swimwear, activewear, and accessories using textiles produced from recycled plastics.  We aim to divert plastic waste from polluting waterways and instead use this material to produce durable and meaningful goods.  We believe there is power in community and that we must rally to make an impact.  We want you with us in this effort.

The skull and pine represented in our logo contrasts the transience of man against the longevity of nature.  Wear these emblems as a badge of honor and symbol of solidarity.  The time for action is now, let’s do it together.

We got to ask them a few questions:

So what made you start your own swimwear line? Also, why did you add in a sustainable element to the brand?

The idea to focus on sustainability and environmentalism actually preceded that of creating a swimwear line.  Our environment, especially the ocean, is in a precarious situation that many see as a make or break moment for the planet so it seems imperative to me that new products and services keep sustainability in mind.  I think this is the way of doing business in the future and that consumers will come to expect environmental responsibility in everything that they buy.

It wasn’t until around May of 2017 that we came up with the idea of doing swimwear.  One morning I was swimming on an island in Greece and began to notice that garbage washing in from the ocean was floating all around me.  After a couple days thinking about this and basically living in only a swimsuit it struck me that the exact garment I was wearing could be a way of addressing the problem.  I was familiar with fabric produced from recycled plastic but hadn’t seen any men’s swimwear made from it.  After a lot of searching we were fortunate enough to find a reputable supplier producing high quality (designed for competitive swimming) fabric from recycled PET.   After a couple months of patternmaking and testing fits we had our first samples for the Club Brief and Club Trunk.

What has the response to the line been from your customers? Are you finding guys are after recycled material? Who do you consider your customer?

The response has been very encouraging! We have only been in business since March so we have a lot of work to do in really getting to know our customer and making sure he knows about our brand and what it stands for. From what we have seen so far though, the guys who are wearing Waldens are very engaged in problem solving, whether in social issues or environmental issues or politics and beyond. That’s something we absolutely love about our customers. Our hope is to build a real sense of community around the brand with lots of like-minded guys sporting the skull and pine. It’s what we mean when we say to wear our logo as a badge of honor and symbol of solidarity.

Check out the brand at the Walden Athletic site.
