Men’s Underwear

Gregg Homme never does “novelty” underwear. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t make fun underwear. One line that I liked when I saw it in Vegas is the Super-Ero line. This vibrant color blocking design is made with our exclusive super fine hyper stretch knit that is soft and slightly sheer. I mean, what would a fun pair at Gregg Homme be without some slightly sheer fabric?

The line comes in a Jock, String, Brief and thong. Which have been the standard styles in this year’s collection. The color block pattern focuses on three colors, Royal, Red, and Silver. My favorite is red!! The color block is the least on the jock and string. There is just a bit of contrasting color at the top of the pouch. The brief and thong both have a more defined color block.

One thing you might notice is the waistband or lack of waistband, in all but the jock. The brand in remaining three pairs is like a bikini waistband. A covered small waistband. Those who hate big waistband I think will love this line. It’s hard to believe but, there are readers who hate big waistband!

This is only the fourth range we are covering from the new Gregg Homme line. We will show the rest of the lines over the next two or so weeks. But if you can’t wait go to the Gregg Homme site and SHOP till you drop.

When you think of Candyman, what comes to mind? Mesh? Bright colors? Lace? Mix of masc and fem? Over the top designs? super fun? All those come to mind when I think of them. Over the years they have morphed into a brand that has no boundaries on masc/fem. There are no rules and they have firmly embraced this philosophy. More guys are loving this type of gear as well!

The new collection is even more “over the top” than previous ones. I know many of you are thinking how can this be possible, but just when you think it’s not possible they come up with some super amazing designs. I hear many guys asking “Who wears this stuff?” A lot of guys do and it’s not just gay and fem guys. All shapes and sizes, from muscle men to bears. All walks of life from the work room to the board room.

The new collection is divided up between lace, mesh, and denim. Denim in the smallest of the bunch, with just three pairs. A boxer brief, brief, and thong. The mesh is just what you expect from Candyman. There are cut outs and mesh panels used to show off every inch of your body. It has the traditional black but also some super fun colors.

The lace is the bulk of this collection. There are many new thongs, briefs, boy shorts and more. I would say my favorite pair is the new lace sided singlet. I saw it and immediately said WANT. One pair that is sure to turn heads (main pic) is the new lace pair with a built in garter. There are no stockings but it’s definitely inspired by the women’s lingerie industry. Last in this would be the new lace robe that you can pair with a black lace thong. It would be the perfect companion.

I hope you will go to the Candyman site to see all of these. We are going to run the new line on our Tumblr including some videos. So stay tuned!

If you’re on Instagram, I have no doubt you have discovered ScruffyGear.com. He is a welcome newcomer to the world of Men’s Underwear Blogging. He’s really putting himself out there, literally and figuratively. He’s been on the UNB Brief Talk Podcast and will be a regular. But he runs an amazing blog. You guys need to check out his writings. One thing I love about the underwear industry is everyone including other bloggers are super friendly.

French men’s luxurious underwear and resort wear house L’Homme Invisible  is excited to announce the launch of its new line Morpheus. Released in the very first days of summer, this line gets inspired by lush green nature and the blue of the sky of this time of year.
Just like all the lines you are about to see this season from the Parisian brand, the Morpheus line, focuses on elegance and comfort. Top quality fabrics are mixed with elegant styles and flattering silhouettes designed to impress. The latest release comprises underwear (in four distinct styles) and a T-shirt. Leaves and flowers take center stage in a top quality lace made in Germany. The vibrant green of the fabric is matched elegantly with blue detailing and tone on tone waistbands. In this line you will find the trademark V-Boxers and V-Briefs by L’Homme Invisible featuring a sexy waistband design with a plunging front and a custom made label at the center. There is also a Hipster Push Up underwear with natural enhancing features and the very sexy String Striptease with snaps on either side for quick release. The striking T-shirt of this line is made to be worn as underwear or as street wear. You can combine it with the underwear of this line for a full L’Homme Invisible look or with your favorite pair of trousers. All of the range’s items are offered in four sizes to suit most (from S to XL).
The Morpheus line by L’Homme Invisible is designed for men who look for something unique. I hear many of you out there who will say “OMG basics are so freakin boring.” Well, that may be the case but, when Gregg Homme puts their spin on it, I think it will change your mind. So What do you get when Gregg Homme makes a mix of a basic line and a sports line. You get the Evoke line! As I say, basics are not boring at all. But, lets face it, Gregg Homme never does anything that isn’t sexy AF.

The New Evoke line has an amazing Austrian micro modal ribbed knit fabric. The fabric comes in three colors, Orange, Navy, and White. One thing that runs through all the pairs is the striped elastic. It’s bigger in the jock and boxer briefs. It’s pretty bold in those and it’s just around the legs. The waistband is a solid white. The smaller sizes have a much smaller striped elastic.

The styles are pretty much the standard for Gregg Homme. They are the jock, string, boxer brief, brief, and thong. Each one has the low key waistband. It’s low key for me since it’s white with black letters and the GH logo! The white is a perfect choice for against the bold colors.

Check out all these pairs at the Gregg Homme site. I really like this line and I could see it at the gym without other guys turning their heads!

And now for something completely different! It’s Thong Thursday and why not have something different. Yes, it’s still a thong but a hybrid! The new Holy Moly Hybrid from BodyAware is part Thong and Part jock! Hybrids are nothing new in the world of underwear. It started with the Jock Brief and has morphed into so many other pairs.

The first thing you notice is the front is very much like a thong. The high cut sides and ample pouch will make this pair super comfy. When you head around back. that’s where you notice the hybrid The jockstraps are very much a jock brief look but in the middle is the thong strap. The two-tone colors will accentuate your assets as well.

The pair comes in two color combos. The first is the one pictured above, black and yellow. The white pair has white with peach accents. It’s hard for me to say which I like better. BodyAware is all about non-traditional colors in men’s underwear. They know how to make an incredible statement.

This is what BodyAware says about the pair:

Let your backside breathe with this thong and jock hybrid. To save space in your underwear drawer we’ve combined two of our favorite styles into a sexy thong and a comfortable jockstrap.  This unique Jong (or Thock, if you prefer) is constructed of soft and stretchy tactel.  Tactel is a forgiving fabric and always feels excellent, smooth and cool to the skin.  The shape of the pouch is perfect for accentuating your masculine assets.

I’m trying to figure out what two pairs they joined? HMMM, getting over a cold after 2 weeks is not conducive for this! There are a lot more pairs at BodyAware and they just did a photo shoot (it was live on IG). We will see a lot more great gear soon from them.

Pair: BodyAware Holy Moly Hybrid
Color: Black or White
Fabric:80% nylon/20% spandex
Sizes: Small – XX-Large
Price: $23.95

FULL KIT GEAR SPORT CLASSIC JOCKSTRAPS ARE HERE

With sports jock manufacturers going the way of the dodo bird, sports fetish designers had to step up to the plate to keep the athletic supporter alive. Full Kit Gear is one of those designers and they’ve tackled it full-on and head-on with a simple yet great-looking and decidedly masculine jockstrap – in seven solid colors. Here’s more details:

The Full Kit Gear Sport Classic Jockstrap is another essential jock from Full Kit Gear, this time it’s a no-nonsense classic styled sports jockstrap not only providing the support you need but doing so in comfort with a unique knit pouch that’s soft right out of the package.

The weave of the poly and cotton pouch forms a ribbing which provides a bit of stretch where you need it and includes a half inch border for added support. With a very sturdy 3 inch wide waistband and an iconic white on black FK label front and center. Finally, one inch wide leg straps finish off this awesome jockstrap.

Whether for sports or sports fetish, the Sport Classic Jock deserves a spot in your top jock drawer.

As mentioned, in seven colors and in size small all the way up to size xxlarge (from 30 inches to 40 inches!)

FULL KIT GEAR SWIM JOCKS NOW IN BLACK

Along with the 3 inch jocks above, Full Kit Gear has also added black to their Swim Jock line. Now you can get the Full Kit Gear Swim Jocks in black, royal-blue or gold.

The Full Kit Gear Swimmer Jockstrap has all the comfort and support you need, but with a classic design and masculine edge. Styled after the traditional classic sports swimmer jocks with woven pouches except this pouch is SOFT right out of the box with a ribbed knit which has the flexibility to cradle your manhood. It’s super comfortable and if things should pop up, the nature of the knit and the added hint of rubber to the fabric contents allow for expansion. The Full Kit Gear Swim Jockstrap includes a one inch plushed comfort waistband that’s woven and embossed with a subtle but recognizable FK logo.

As British Brand Bum-Chums heads to their 10 year anniversary you’d think they might be running out of things to bring to the market. Or that they’ve found a niche in fun styled underwear and they wouldn’t venture any further. Well, the moment has come… Bum-Chums just released their new Singlet design.

Although only a special launch edition, the new design Wrestling singlets are now available from one of the world’s infamous cheeky underwear and swimwear brands.

This particular release marks a never seen before torrent of new designs from the brand, venturing into designs and styles never tried by the brand in the past. With a diverse range of releases since the New Year, the Brand is producing lots of new work this year.

Never ones to keep to the confines of traditional seasons, Bum-Chums release as and when they have new ideas and because they produce everything themselves, using traditional methods, they can bring things to the market really quickly when they choose.

The new style of Singlet launched comes in two designs, bridging the gap between their British Pudding Collection and Activewear or gym gear. With two colour options, consisting of the Rhubarb and Custard style and the new Raspberry Ripple; both featuring a vice versa Pink and Yellow colour-way. Fabric choices are always a big factor with the Bum-Chums releases and these come in a glorious Tactel Polyamide elastane mix fabric. Soft to touch, silky smooth and a lot of stretch, leaving nothing to the imagination.

If anyone has ever taken the time to actually read the Bum-Chums product descriptions, you’ll know already that their sense of humour is way off the mark. Their use of metaphors, double entendre and love of alliteration are a howl and must take them hours to think up.

Although a limited edition, these two new items have been added to the British Pudding Collection, with the added style of the Raspberry Ripple to the Rhubarb and Custard; a vice versa colour clash.

These singlets feature a vest style upper, a cycling short base and feature the flash colours in a contoured side panel to accentuate the masculine physique along with detailed bound edging in the contrasting colour.

The brand tell us they’ll be releasing more styles in this, including a bottomless version, but for now, they’re limited stock and selling quick at a launch price of just £35 (apx $46). One of the best value branded singlets on the market.

When I mention basics in men’s underwear some of you immediately go “NEXT.” You want something in underwear that reflects your personality. You think that basics equal boring. Others may go, “Basics, those are the cheap undies in the big box stores.” A brand not known for cheap or boring underwear is JOR. They have released a new line or sub-brand called B-one.

I had to do a Google Translation on the about section of their site. My Spanish is not that good, and by not good I mean non-existent. So here is my cobbling of what this new line is about.

The new trend of Men’s Clothing implies a special treatment towards the basic world of Underwear. New colors, new fabrics and new textures are the secret for a new vintage-inspired collection, is it classic or retro. A new generation that believes in the retro, in the classics and in the comfort of the basic garments.

Jor Underwear, launches to the market a new brand that aligns perfectly with the trends of the new generations, at very competitive prices and with the excellent quality that has always characterized by JOR.

The collection has the styles you may think about in a classic line up. There is a brief, boxer brief, Tee, and yes even swimwear! The swimwear is just classic cut swim briefs. You may go, “but that’s not classic in the states.” But, it is classic in Columbia! This new line is elegant and not just the boring white and black. Yes, there are pairs in each color but there are blues, stripes and shades of grey.

If you have been adverse to wearing classics you need to check out this entire line. I think there will be something you will love no matter your personality. You can see this collection at the JOR International Store.

What would a new collection for Gregg Homme be without some mesh? I think it would be blaspheme. They are well known for their super sexy mesh pairs over the years. GH makes some of the sexiest and most comfortable underwear on the market. I would beg to say this is this equivalent to women’s lingerie. The new line is called Encore +.

Gregg Homme says this about the new collection:

Gregg Homme introduces the Encore +. The mesh stripe gives a small glimpse of your package and is made of a soft German knit that has a delicate shimmer effect

This line gives you just a hint of skin but leaves enough covered for the imagination. The colors are another great thing about the collection. They are Black, Khaki, and Magenta. My favorite by far is Magenta. It just POPS. The other colors, such as the black, can show a bit more skin or with the Khaki a bit less.

There are the typical styles in Gregg Homme. Jock, Pouch, Boxer Brief, Thong and Brief. The Pouch is more of a g-string than a thong. It’s great that they make two different styles of thongs. No matter what your preference you will have a style you love in this line.

The last thing is the fabric. Gregg Homme goes above and beyond on fabric. They source the most incredible and best fabric for men’s underwear on the planet. I don’t know how they have time to find such fabrics. You can almost garuantee that it will be some of the best feeling undies you have ever worn!

So I wanted to build off of UNB Tim’s post from June 14 discussing a swim brief/thong challenge. I have had the opportunity over the past month or so to wear a few different styles of swimwear out on the beach. I know (NOT THONGS) you’re all wondering why I would do that, so I’ll explain a bit. A few of the beaches around the area are not thong friendly, and I have to either wear a regular bikini, a swim brief (speedo) or submit to wearing some form of shorts. Since I LOVE my tan lines, I tend to stick with something as close to my usual thong style as possible.

A few weeks ago, my daughter wanted to go to the beach while she was home from college, and we combined the beach trip with a daddy/daughter day trip. We did a couple of things and then hit the beach. As I already knew that the city of Virginia Beach, VA is not thong friendly, I packed my Joe Snyder Bulge Boxer in wet look black as I knew it would be safe for me to wear on the beach there. When we arrived at the beach and picked out a spot, I quickly set up our chairs and towels, and slid out of my shorts and settled into my chair. Nobody around us blinked or batted an eye as I sunned in the tiny suit. I even got up several times with my daughter, walking along the beach, and also took a dip together to cool off. Once again, nobody gave us the first look, glare, or made me feel otherwise uncomfortable.

A week or so later, after my daughter left to go back to school, I had a doctors appointment at the beach. I decided to try my luck and see how I did in the same location with a different suit. Once again, no thongs allowed-this time I picked out a more daring suit, my Joe Snyder Bulge Bikini in the new blue lines fabric.

After my appointment was over, I made my way to the beach, set up my chair and towel, and stripped down to my new suit. As it wasn’t a thong style rear, I knew I’d be ok in Virginia Beach again, but I’m not gonna lie, it still shows off quite a bit of your cheeks, so I was still a bit apprehensive about wearing it on such of a conservative beach. Once again I was very pleasantly surprised. Nobody paid the first bit of attention to me, neither by staring at me, making any rude comments/gestures, or complaining about my suit. I spent a few hours sunning on my front and rear without incident.

Fast-forward to today-my daughter is still away at school, and my wife hasn’t felt well, so I decided to head to a different spot to catch some sun. I chose to visit Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA. I thought that it was also a no-thong beach, once again I packed my Joe Snyder Bulge Bikini in the new blue lines fabric since I had already had a successful trip with it. When I arrived at the beach park, I walked north of the pier and set up my chair and towel. I slid off my shorts and settled into my chair for some sunrays. Immediately I noticed the same lack of stares, comments, or lack of comfortableness many of us associate wearing a small suit on a public beach. I felt comfortable in this bikini today at the beach, even being amidst a large crowd of people. Nobody pointed, laughed, took pictures, or anything. I spent all afternoon today at the park, alternating between sunning and swimming in the water. I even felt comfortable enough to pull the suit up and expose a little more of my cheeks (to minimize the impact on my tanlines of course). When I got ready to leave for the day, I noticed a police officer parked watching over the beach. I have to complement the department on this gentleman’s professionalism as I approached him to inquire about the legality of thongs on this beach. He quickly informed me that there was no ordinance against thongs in general, that they saw a limited number every year, and that there was no parking rule prohibiting them. I even asked if it was ok for men and women to thong there to which he told me yes! I can’t wait to go back there and sun my cheeks in a thong!

I wanted to share these experiences with everyone because I know there are a lot of people reading the blog who are very apprehensive about wearing a swim brief or thong for the first time. I want to encourage each of you to try it. Maybe it doesn’t need to be around friends or family the first time, or in your front yard while washing your car or doing yard work, but if you are interested in wearing something out of the norm you should go for it. People, in general, are not anywhere near as mean as you think they are and will be much more accepting than you think. I have found that beaches that are mixed with various cultures will be much more open to different swimwear styles, and beaches that are full of the same type of people (big trucks, flags, board shorts) may be less accepting of what you decide to wear. Either way, be sure that you ask questions if you are unsure if a specific type of swimwear is “legal” at your beach do your research first. Ask a police officer, or if you’re anxious about sparking that conversation, either call or email your questions ahead of time. PLEASE don’t take advice from me as comprehensive legal council-do your own research! I mainly wanted to share my positive experiences over the past several weeks wearing minimal swimwear and interactions with others. Please don’t think that the police or beachgoers are out to get you ask questions, be friendly to others, and just act natural and nobody’s going to make a big deal out of your swimwear choices. Drop us a line here and let us know about how your first (or 100th) experience goes this summer wearing a new suit. I am also available on IG (unb_ryan) or twitter (unb_ryan) if you have any questions or wanted to tell me about your experiences there!

Broadway Bares is always a lot of fun and is a great cause! It even has some UNB connections. I wanted to share one thing that was made for the show that I saw in an instagram preview. The undies in this that the captians wear.

At Broadway Bares: Game Night, sexy seamen were ready to sink battleships and strip to their skivvies in a number choreographed by Laya Barak and Jonathan Lee. Led by Robert Walters of Hamilton and Juan Zapata, this explosive and hardcore hip hop piece featured an all-male ensemble of irresistible sailors running tight ships.
